This is a local favorite, but for good reason. If you want genuine country cookin' this is the place to go. The food here is excellent, and the staff if friendly. They admittedly don't have a wide variety to choose from, but what they do have is some of the best food in the area. If you're passing through on the main highway uptown, it's worth the out of the way drive to go check this place out. They have more than BBQ as well. Typically fried chicken and fried pork chops, and then a daily special. The close at 2:00pm, so keep that in mind.

Tuesday is fried pork chops, meatloaf, bbq pork, fried chicken, rolls and vegetables. The hot water cornbread is SO GOOD! I would have taken a pic but I was starvin Marvin! If you love home cooking (I love home cooking!), you need to try Young's.

Really good food, and reasonably priced. But the best thing about this place, is the Hostess and her waitresses. They make you feel at home and very welcomed. Whether it's just you, or a group, they do accommodate.

For $11 the drink and meal are overpriced. The buffet was very small, and food had little flavor and the vegatables tasted like they came from a can. The cake and bbq were both dry. The highlight of the experience was the fried okra and friendly staff.

I never drive through this area without stopping and enjoying lunch with these fine folks! Hometown atmosphere with delicious food and awesome service. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys home cookin! The Pork Chops are off the chain on Thursdays!

My family has been eating here for years. This is the only place in Monticello where you can get real, home-cooked, southern food. We love Young's Barbecue!!

This was a great little mom and pop place. They offer a barbecue buffet with a menu option. I opted for the buffet which included lots of comfort food including pulled meats, pork chops, and fried chicken. The food was great and the price was fair. Very friendly atmosphere. Would for sure come back here.

Would give them zero stars if I could have. I ordered a pan of dressing for Christmas and when I say "dry", it was so DRY, we had to cut it like a dry brownie. It had no seasoning and no chicken. What happened, Young's? When my husband would go after church on Sunday, it would be descent. I was so upset at dinner on Christmas because my husband spent good money for a dry and tasteless dressing. I will be making my own next time. My husband was trying to make it a little easier for me on cooking by ordering it but I'll welcome the extra work next time.

Been here twice in a month. You cant get a more homecooked meal anywhere in this county or the next. Bananas Fosters is delicious. Home made BBQ sauce you put on yourself is outstanding. Reminiscent of eastern Carolinas vinegar based but not as sour and pork is juicy not dry rubbed mistake you find over there in Andy Griffiths neighborhood.
