I went out with coworkers and was a little horrified that we were going to a sushi restaurant in Russelville, Arkansas. I did not have high expectations for the evening. I was very pleasantly surprised. The draft beer I ordered was served in an odd metal glass which it quickly warmed up in, but the sushi sampler was quite good. This restaurant is one I will definitely be going back to.

Just went for the very first time today. It was excellent! Loved the bento box lunch choices. Mine was the salmon and I enjoyed every bite of it. Plus there was enough to take home and munch on for later. The prices are higher but eating at lunch time really helps.

Rude owner. There were some recent legal issues regarding her taking worker tips for her own gain. That just shows her character. Maybe if she smiled more it would feel happier. If you want cheap food for an expensive price, eat here. The hibachi is more expensive at dinner than lunch with maybe the amount of rice you get being a tad bit more. But not for the extra price. The key is to get water and split a chicken fried rice with another person.

Umami's has been around for a long time. I have to give it a 4 since its competition in town, Sumo's, is generally worse. While the food isn't the best ever, and the sushi isn't the best, they have a wider variety of fish/shellfish/etc. to pick from. Also, their dishes and specialties tend to think outside the box. However, their bar and staff always treat you well. Brittany is an awesome bartender/hostess. The atmosphere is fairly chill, if a bit hectic. If you like this one, try the Umami's in Conway for a higher-end experience.

Don't get me wrong, the restaurant overall is pretty good. Gone there about 30 times and most of the meals were great. Staff work hard to please you. But the last couple of times I was there, I ordered tuna, medium rare with fried rice. Tuna was not good quality! Since I ordered it before thought it was just a one time thing, but the second time was just as bad. If you like tuna, don't get it here.

Three stars for good service, and great appetizers and sushi. However, both me and my husband were very disappointed with our main entrees. My husband got ramen served to him on a plate. He claimed that not only was he underwhelmed by the taste, but that it should have been served in a bowl with broth. My udon soup was very bland, the vegetable stock that they used as a soup base had almost no flavor to it at all, and the actual vegetables were very tough. We may return again, if only for the sushi.

Hands down, by FAR the best Japanese fusion in the river valley. The food is tasty, delicious, generously portioned. The atmosphere is clean and casual. There are a few minor repairs needed in the restauran. I.E, scratches on the walls with drywall showing. Service was great, prompt and friendly. I have tried other Japanese places in Russellville and Little Rock but this place is much better. Prices are a little higher than others but I am more than happy to pay because it's just that good! Don't even think twice about going here, you won't regret it. Trust me I know what I'm talking g about.

Umami is always good. I have never had a bad experience or ordered something I didn't enjoy. The owner knows what she's doing and runs a tight ship and it shows. The place is clean and, despite ALWAYS being busy, runs fairly smoothly. The updated lighting worked wonders for it this year. Major props to all the staff and their hard work.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Horrible service- 15 min to be offered a drink, 25 min to get the drink. The Bangkok chicken was nothing but gristle. Then we waited on food for over 30 min, while the table next to us were served their food first when then came in 10 minutes after us- the food was all wrong. The owner then had us pay 20 dollars for 2 salads, 1 beer, and 1 soft drink. Absolutely ridiculous. It’s not that hard-

I love their chicken fried rice. It's basically the same as hibachi chicken. In my opinion, theirs tastes better than Sumo's. The only negatives are a small parking lot and I usually takes a while to get a table. Highly recommended!

The. Best. Sushi. Restaurant. In. Arkansas. I'm from the coast and if I go too long without good seafood I start to go a little insane, Umami has saved me. Their sushi is well-made, fresh, and the flavors are on point. Ask for the secret sushi menu, my favorite is the m&m but the Wonderboy is always a crowd pleaser. I've heard the hibachi is delicious but I've never made it past the sushi.

This place is literally the bomb dot com. I love this place so much. It may be on the higher price range, but it is still soo good. Now sometimes it can be slow, but I like to believe that this is just a slow business because there is so many people coming in to this place. That is why I am only going to give it a 4 star review. They could work on being faster with the orders and greeting people more. like Starbucks they can be slow but they have learned over the years that they have to be faster if they want people to continue to come to them on a daily basis. Also this is so great for family gathers to just meet up and have some fun with one another and make memories. With saying all of this, I think everyone should come at least once in their life to this magical place.

A group of friends & I went to Umami’s for a birthday dinner. A friend ordered a sushi roll, specifically asking whether it contained raw meat (she can’t have any) & was told that it didn’t. The only meat it contained was shrimp, but it was fried. When she received her sushi, there were pieces of raw salmon on each slice. The owner began delivering our meals to the table. Two out of three of the first set of meals brought out were wrong. We told her that we thought maybe she had the wrong table. She was very rude, telling us that it was the right table & the right food. We were not provided with enough silverware, until about 10 minutes after our meals arrived. We each ordered yum yum sauce with our meals & were not provided with it until we were almost halfway finished with our meals. At the end of the night, the friend that received the wrong sushi roll asked if she could not pay for the untouched sushi. The owner belittled her, as well as the waitress. It wasn’t even worth 1 star, honestly. I will not be eating here ever again, despite how good the food actually was.

Amazing service, the guy that served us was very helpful and nice Amazing sushi, some of the widest range of dishes I have seen in a while. Ask for the secret sushi menu before you start looking, then, If you like lime and explosive flavor, try the m&m, but if you like fish, try the double trouble, which is almost exclusively fish. A few other good ones are the Russelville roll, the wonder boy, the Manhattan, the Yumi Yumi, and the long island roll. All of these are amazing and offer a range of great tastes I haven't seen anywhere else in Arkansas. We were able to order these 7 rolls for just over 110 dollars, which I think was well worth it. The environment was great, though a little noisy. The chef was very nice, and watching him cook was more than enough to keep us occupied between orders. Overall, I would highly recommend coming here if you like well prepared, delicious sushi, great service, and a great resteraunt.

In Russellville Arkansas there is a lack of great food with great service, in a great atmosphere. Umamis continues to be the place to find all of these things. The Hibachi Filet and Shrimp is out of this World and is still mine and my co-workers favorite. MS. Amy is the owner and she prides herself on customer service and a great staff. This place would be my go to place to eat whether it is in Russellville or any other major city, it is that good. I look forward to all my business trips there just to eat at Umamis, don't waste your time at Sumos, not a chance.

Very good sushi here. We also had the steak and chicken with fried rice. This was great. Great flavor cooked to perfection. The service was great the waiter kept us informed that our food was coming. They had one chef the other had quit. It took 1.5 hours to get our sushi. Hopefully they get someone hired quick. I would go back but expect to wait.

The only place to get decent Japanese food in Russellville. Their sushi is great! Most of the items on the menu are delicious, and they have generous portions. The enormous bowls of soup and noodles are good, too. You won't be able to finish one by yourself! If you're there for lunch, try one of the bento boxes.

Great salad with lots of ginger dressing. Nice and warm edamame (add some sea salt on them would be even better). Spicy tuna and salmon rolls were good.
