They didn't have that much selection for the lunch buffet, but that's not a bad thing as every item that they did have was amazing. I had a little bit of everything, and there were few things that I didn't enjoy because of my personal taste, not because of their cooking. I gave this four stars though because one of the staff was extremely rude to my friend when we were paying. My friend very clearly stated that he was the one that had gotten the tea, and the person ringing us up must not have heard him, and then became way too annoyed at the miscommunication.

From the moment I walked in and was warmly greeted by who I assume was the owner I enjoyed my heal here. For was outstanding, full of flavor and reach dish distinct. Everything I had from the buffet I could of had seconds is I weren't saving room to try other dishes. I never waited for a drink refill and everyone working seemed genuinely happy to be there. This place is delicious and I would have to say better than most of the places we've tried. The owner is very personable and cares very much about the food and the experience of the guests. I eat at this restaurant everytime I come to Little Rock. It's my favorite Indian restaurant in the state! The buffet is super fresh, authentic, and delicious. The owner of this restaurant has an amazing memory and always recognizes me when I come in and says "welcome home". I went in the other day and said I needed my receipt for work and that I was coming back for lunch tomorrow too. I was held up the next day but made it in the day after and after welcoming me home, he said he missed my visit yesterday, and after paying, he reminded ME that I needed my receipt for work! I thanked him for reminding me and taking care of me. I think this restaurant is my happy place..

This place is not what it used to be. My family and I ate here all the time however this last time we went the food quality went to dump. We ordered chicken 65 and I don't know what they gave us but it was completely wrong it looked like yellow color saag with chicken and looked not edible.. it is supposed to be red color with a hint of sauce it says on the menu. Who knows maybe that's how they make in it Punjab, but the restaurant name is star of India. Next we ordered chicken curry and the curry was good but the chicken was over cooked and rubbery. The service was horrible as well.. felt like they needed more waiters and helpers. Basically I just wanted to let it be known that the owner is a sweet talker and will talk customers into ordering this and that, however he gets away with it because not everyone knows the correct flavor with the correct food. For example you order chicken Tikka masala and they give chicken curry or vice versa, and many will never know the difference. I also suggest asking for a idiomized bill cuz they will over charge! If I could I would give a rating of 0!!!

From the moment you walk in you are treated like family I loved the warm boisterous welcome. The restaurant is eclectic and clean. The service is impeccable. I'm falling in love with the mango custard as im writing this. Ive been to so many Indian buffets all over the world and I swear this is the best one! I do wish they would play some Bollywood music or some Ravi Shankar. The music is an instrumental elevator type would be better with Indian music. Thank you for the great food!

I absolutely love this place. I'm from Pittsburgh and have been to many Indian restaurants and this place is ranked up there at the top. I travel for work and have been here four times and each time the food and service has been excellent. The one thing that stands out is their nan bread, specifically the garlic nan. It is THE absolute best. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is quite nice. I highly recommend going here.

Went for their weekend lunch buffet. There were many items on the menu. Very good mini samosas and fish tikka. Other punjabi dishes on the menu were good too. Goat meat in the curry needs improvement.

One thing walking into this restaurant, a nondescript looking place tucked in a small shopping center, was how EXTRA they were!! Candles on the table, they put a napkin in my lap, pushed in my chair for me, and the waiter was even wearing a tuxedo. It was almost novel, but a refreshing experience. My food was delicious and everything was nicely prepared. Very delicious and customer service focused staff!!! I ate the vegetarian sampler and it was very good.

Want to feel like you’re eating at your own home? Go see Sammy and the family here and they’ll make you one of their own. Yes, the food is unbelievable and it’s a taste you get nowhere else in Little Rock. But you also get very good attention. Go for lunch to sample numerous different meat and vegetarian dishes but also go in the evening and order off the extensive menu. Huge selection and if you’re not sure what to get feel free to ask them. They will get it right for you!

I've been here several times over the years and always enjoy myself. I'm greeted at the door always and seated. The lunch buffet is always fresh and flavorful. I don't come often but when I'm in town I always try to and in never disappointed. Food is great, service is wonderful and the place is clean. What else can you ask for. I went in one time after a couple of years and he hasn't forgot me. That's worth the visit. If your interested in foreign food give it a try you will be pleased I promise.

I cannot remember leaving a restaurant feeling so happy. The owner's happiness and friendliness is honestly contagious and every newspaper or review displayed on the restaurant walls were correct. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the lighting fixtures are especially lovely, everything looked spotless clean: from the silverware to the bathroom. The food was as good as the atmosphere of the place, the chicken masala was so tender and flavorful, the naan was soft inside and crunchy on the outside and the gulab jamun was just the perfect dessert. I also tried the lamb dishes and, goodness, they were so good! Especially the meatballs.

We were in town for the weekend and happened to see this on a list of nearby restaurants. It turned out to be some of the best Indian food I've had. I got the seafood Curry, which was $14.95 for carry out. The staff were all warm and welcoming, the food was perfect, and I was out the door in 20 minutes. This place was fabulous!! We went to LR to visit a family member in the hospital and were craving Indian food since our local restaurant closed a couple of years ago. It definitely did not disappoint! The buffet was fresh and constantly stocked, the flavors were spot on, the food was high quality, dishes that have meat in them had tons of meat to sauce ratio...it was just overall amazing food. It was clean food because I didn't feel bloated or miserable as I do when we've eaten at other similar restaraunts and while I'm not a vegetarian I do love me some veggie dishes and the ones they had were phenomenal. The atmosphere is very different from other restaraunts and they make sure you feel at home. I wouldn't go in the middle of lunch if you have social anxiety as it is a very busy place and has quite a hectic feel but that's a good thing because it means that's how delicious the food is! This will be our go to restaraunt when we go to the rock!

The tomato-coconut soup is the absolute best soup I have had, ever (and I usually don't enjoy soup in the summer). The only thing that out-does the food is the service. They should truly be described as When you're here, you're family. Mr. Lal will personally pretend like your best friends of 15 years and will go along with any joke you know. It's more fun and homey than any restaurant you will find, and that's 100% due to the service. One of the best spots in Arkansas.

My brother had never had Indian food before, this was the BEST place for his first try. I wasn't expecting such amazing food, he was hooked on his first bite. The staff were absolutely perfect and kind, and even though it's not my norm to eat buffets, after the amazing dinner we had, we had to try it. This rating is based on 2 categories: Buffets and Indian Food. When compared to other Buffets, this place is awesome. Good fresh food, you don't feel bad after eating and you can eat clean. The only problem is trying not to eat too much because the flavors are on point! For what you get, this place is priced very good and the service is awesome. The owner is very hospitable and he is there running the operation. They never let my glass of water go empty either. When compared to other Indian foods, I cannot think of a place that beats this food. Flavors are very good, clean, not overly spiced and there some pretty good varieties for proteins and veggies. Overall, this place is definately worth the experience and I would recommend trying it out!

We loved visiting this restaurant, it had great food, a bit dark but nice Indian ambience, but most importantly, we loved the service! The two servers we had were older Indian unlces who were super sweet and ensured that they gave each customer a great service by talking to them, got to know them a little and even offered a few suggestions to order, asked how the food was. It's very rare to meet such servers who actually care. Food was good too, wide variety of options, pretty authentic flavors. Plain paratha and mango milkshake is a must try

I had lunch at Star of India yesterday and it was phenomenal. I moved to Little Rock about three weeks ago from Washington, D.C. and was desperate for some quality Indian like they have back in DC. Star of India provides DC quality Indian food. I will continue to go back and it will likely be the only Indian restaurant I go to in Little Rock.

The food was perfectly delicious, authentic Indian cuisine. The atmosphere was cozy, busy with many happy customers and I could tell this was a place I would return to even before trying the food. The tables are set beautifully, and lovely artwork can be seen on the walls. The staff is wonderful, very friendly and personable, making suggestions to assist in meal choices. My husband and I will definitely be back!

I called to ask if they were able to provide a vegan dish for a diabetic. I spoke to a very professional gentleman on the phone and he told me to not to worry. They had the perfect dish. When I arrived, I was greeted by my name and the dish was ready, The atmosphere was very pleasant and the care and attention that was given in the preparation of the meal was second to none. This place will be my place to go whenever I am in Little Rock.

So many great flavor in the vegetarian platter. Loved them all but was not able to finish my meal. Glad for to go boxes!
