You must eat here! Especially if you love BBQ or pond-raised catfish! On Friday and Saturday, it's packed, but they can serve a lot of people with ease. They are not open everyday. Just Wed - Saturday. The drive is easy and worth the few miles north of town. Every person I have taken there has become a returning customer. Great service and amazing food in a light-hearted, outdoorsy atmosphere (there is a canoe hanging from the ceiling). I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. If so, like this comment. Thanks.

This is a great barbecue place, with a southern style feel. The atmosphere is the truth with great customer service. I had there ribs, beans and fries meal. It was absolutely delicious, fall off the bone, easy eat ribs! The fries and beans were some of the best tasting in town. My friends tried the cheese dip chips and said it wasn't very good, so avoid that. But everything else was pretty good to excellent. I will definitely be back and anyone visiting should definitely visit this spot!!!

I ordered the piggy pie and it was the biggest mistake of my life. Two words: food poisoning. The description on the menu made it sound good but sadly it was not. It looked like vomit and was very bland. When I went home I did vomit and it looked the same as before I ate it. Waitress was nice though.

My wife and I are from New Orleans, home of some awesome food. Since moving up to Jacksonville, AR we haven’t really been impressed with any of the food. This is hands down the best restaurant in Jacksonville.Delicious BBQ, amazing hot salsa, lots of flavors, the atmosphere is nice, and the price ain’t bad!

Had the "Boss" barbecue sandwich. Very good. Meat had a very nice smokey flavor. Sauce was excellent. Service was very good. Slaw could stand a little more zip, maybe a pinch of horseradish but still was not bad. Out of the way for a lot of people but worth the trip. Beans on the sandwich instead of on the side. Different but still great. Try it!

The boss Corey is great. As an excellent employ. The kitchen needs a new manager. In one week's time, they've lost two dish washers, a prep person, and a line cook, over this manager. Corey won't open his eyes to the problem. I know of two more kitchen employees, that are planning to leave, if they haven't already. Corey has a good thing going but he's loading really good employees over one manager. I hope Corey will open his eyes and corrects the problem or this place is gonna be run in the ground over one manager. I've notice the food isn't as good as it once was. Maybe because of such turn over in staff I don't know. Kitchen staff turn over is unbelievable.

Ordered the potato skins for an appetizer. They were more skin, than potato and half of the order was burnt. The potatoes themselves were dry and chalky so we sent them back. Ordered the three meat plate. Got ribs, brisket and pulled pork. ALL three meats were DRY. The brisket was tough to chew, and the pulled pork was like dried pork bits. My wife had ordered the quesadilla (which she loved the first time she came here and is the reason we came today) and it was nothing but grease. Both sides of the quesadilla had those grill bits...like the burnt pieces from previous food that was cooked before your order but not scraped off. Was truly a shame. The food used to be good here...dunno what happened. Also, not once were we asked how the food was. Wont be back after this experience.

This place has great BBQ in Central Arkansas. The pulled pork is excellent, with a great smoky flavor. Didn't try the sweet sauce, but the mild and hot varieties are good. The place is usually crowded and parking can be "fun," but it's worth it.

I have eaten here several times so this review is cumulative. The taste of the food is very good especially the barbeque and fried catfish. Most of the time the service is great, but there have been a couple of times when it was poor enough that I did not tip. The one consistency that I have found is that the food is often cold or at room temperature. I always request hot french fries when I order because more often than not they are barely warm. The food temperature is the main reason for two stars.

More than likely the best fried catfish and Barbecue sandwiches around. If you like fried catfish, this place is a must visit. The staff is great as well and the prices are even better.

I really wanted to like this place. Cute name, cute decor, really good onion rings. Visited on Saturday around noon. Waitress messed up drink order, catfish was served cold and 'smoked chicken' on salad was more like 'pulled chicken' mixed with water or something. The chicken wasn't just moist, it was wet. They also forgot toast for the meal. Like I said, I really wanted to like this place, but after so many mistakes, I'll choose someplace else next time.

Love this place love the food!!!! It's in the middle of nowhere but the food is worth it. 2 small bellies can eat off of one plate. The serving portions were more than adequate. The inside is rustic and small, they stay packed when they are open.

Took my wife here ,for her birthday.02/09/19 . Not many customers,but it took 1/2 hour,to get our food,and it was disappointing,to say the least! my coffee tasted old,my brisket,and pulled pork were tepid,at best,as was the catfish. Wife said her fish was cold,as were her fries,and my son 's fries were also cold.. The bill was $46.91,and I wrote a 5% tip on the receipt,so imagine my surprise when I checked my card balance,and found Kelly had given herself a $10.00 tip !! We won't be going there, again...

Horrible experience. Called my order in and picked it up. To begin with it was cold. The whole order was wrong. My sons burger was burnt black, the bun and patty. The other oders had the sides all wrong. I called to complain and Robbin said next time just let her know and she was going to remake the whole ticket. So when i called to have the ticket remade Robbin says she said she was only remaki g the burgerand tge fush plate. She lied. I would not recommend eating here.

Best BBQ I have ever had. I was recommended this place by more than a few people, and I am so happy I actually came! My favorite is The Sauce- a pulled pork sandwich loaded with BBQ sauce, topped with BBQ sauce on the bun. I get the coleslaw on the side since I have only ordered to go, but I have never been disappointed. I’m stuffed off that one big sandwich. I also like how they have a selection of BBQ sauces- my favorite is the sweet one. The only problem with this place... I wish they were open more!! Highly recommend!

Came here on a whim and I'm so glad we did! The food and atmosphere are great. The waitress was very attentive, not a long wait for our order at all! I had to eat my sandwich with a fork due to all the stuff on it and it was AMAZING! Make sure you save room for a fried pie cause they are super good as well!!

I had heard of this place for years and FINALLY stopped by for an order to go. It was fixed and ready in a matter of minutes. I had a party of 3 adults...2 being very healthy eaters. We all got a normal size Pulled Pork sammich and ordered some ribs and catfish along with slaw and fries....as well as fresh sliced onion to go with the fish! It was ALL FANTASTIC! AND enough for 2 more hearty meals the next day! Oh yeah....we'll be back.

Great food. Brisket, ribs and catfish all were smoked and bbq’d very well. The ribs were pretty tough in one side but the flavor was great. Recommend the fried pies to finish off if you’re able. The 2 or 3 combinations will fill you up. Decent service and awesome atmosphere.

Ordered a large cheese dip and it was amazingly awesome! The barbecue pork sandwich is the best! Grest sauces. Over all it's lip smacking plate licking good. The atmosphere of the restaurant is rustic and the sitting in the booths are comfortable. The kids meal comes with a word search that fun for the whole family. I also enjoyed looking at all of the Decor located all over the restaurant.

I see that this place is highly rated but I feel like I'm being generous with 3 stars. The brisket was as dry and overcooked as you'd want it to be. The breading on both the catfish and the okra was 'tough' if that is possible with breading. The okra itself was somehow flavorless. My wife asked for and was promised additional barbecue sauce. It never came. We went for quite a long stretch waiting for service so I couldn't really get the issues addressed. Maybe it was just a one off but I won't be eager to go back.

Smokin’ Buns is the BBQ place to go! Our party of 12 had a 25 minute waiting period, but it was worth every second. The restaurant was bubbling with such a welcoming vibe and the waiters and waitresses were friendly and attentive. For our first time dining at Smokin Buns, we had a platter in which we sampled catfish, grilled chicken, coleslaw, and brisket. Everything was fresh, tender and crispy- just the way we like it. If you dine here, you must try the fried pies! There are a variety of types (apple, peach, chocolate, etc). We tried the fried apple pie as well as the chocolate and it was just heavenly. Even our pickiest party members left on a full belly. Cheers to that!

Fried pickles were pretty good and so were all the sides we had but sweet baby Jesus all the meat was DRY!! My server was so sweet and tried to replace it but the meat was just as dry. It's not her fault so we still tipped bc she was lovely but the brisket & pulled pork was terrible.

We have had the bbq ribs and they are excellent and we always have leftovers because they are so big and meaty. The prime rib on wed.is always our favorite when we can manage to get there to eat before church. We have always had excellent service. They also do a huge take out business. This place is a favorite of ours.

Food is always good. Service is great. Fish, burgers and brisket I have eaten and it was delicious. Chocolate and coconut fried pies are my favorite. Coleslaw, green beans, fried okra and fries are good. Their tartar sauce is seriously the best. You will want some for home.

Definitely one of my top favorite places to eat out at now. Had the combo with the brisket and catfish. Husband had the brisket and sausage. Best I ever had and can't wait to go back. The only thing is the coleslaw wasn't my favorite. But the fries were crispy, the toast was delicious, sauce was flavorful and service on point.
