It was awful never will I visit there again. They did not serve beef, how does a Mexican restaurant not serve beef.. While we were eating a customer pointed out a cockroach so I told the waitress about it an she acted as if she did not know what it was, really all the customers knew exactly what it was. No thanks you can keep your cockroaches. And everything was overpriced. Not real mexican food

Food was good, but different from most Latin food I have had. A little over-priced for the food quality but otherwise nice place. Courteous and nice staff, patio was pleasant but only accessible via narrow stairs. Salsa isn't complimentary but you get as much as you want if you purchase it. Not spicy at all either.

Rolando's Restaurant is making it harder and harder for me to choose my "FAVORITE" QUESO BLANCO, sprinkled with SPINACH AND TOMATOES AND LOVE! The daily special, Spinach Enchiladas, were fantasticio! A little crunch on the edge of two tortillas, with melted cheese on top, accompanied with rice, black beans, bell peppers........... I've got to eat.........must TRY! WoW!

Everything was delightful!! Fantastic food presentation, good flavor and astonishing alcoholic beverages. Very attentive service even when they were crowded; they tried to make you comfortable. I definitely would recommend the beef fajita taco salad and the hurricane as a drink. Our waiting time was around 35 min but worth it!!

Best Latin fusion we have ever eaten and an incredible setting! This was upscale, foodie heaven. We sat on the patio which was beautiful and romantic. There was great live music. Our waiter totally knew the menu and recommended the dish my husband chose to order. The food was absolutely delicious! The portions were enormous and the house margarita was super yummy and very reasonable at $5.50. The owner was extremely friendly. We definitely recommend and will be going back!

Another great find. An awesome place that serves mostly mexican style food, with a very cool Argentinian twist. Cool interior, lots of paintings and art pieces. Service was quick, food came out in massive portions. We had burito, salad, chicken tenders. Temders were amazing, juicy and had amazing twist. I greatly recomend this place.

Friendly staff, delicious food, relaxed atmosphere. If you're craving Latino food, this is your spot. I felt like I was at home for an hour. Their Cuban sandwich is to die for, served with rice and black beans (they brought a tear to my eye with how tasty they were) and the prices are very reasonable. I fully recommend it.

Shrimp quesadilla is where it’s at!! Wow. Great Mexican place in Central Ave across from The Arlington Hotel. Again everything is so walkable around this downtown historic district, there’s so many great shops, restaurants. We chose this one because we were in the mood for some Mexican food and I had read a good review and they were correct what a great place. Outdoor patio is up some steps so this may be difficult for your older patrons or they can sit inside where it’s nice and cool. We chose to sit outside in the patio which was really cool.

Great location in downtown Hot Springs. The food is good, especially the quesadillas and tamales. I definitely liked the back patio that had exposed rock face and a small stage for bands to play. I only wish there were more Ecuadorian options instead of the typical Mexican dishes.

We had a great time at dinner. I got the susu enchilada with chicken, cream cheese and assorted peppers. It was easily the best enchilada I have had. Live music was a nice touch from Aaron, sit on the mountanside patio if available.

I am from Texas and we take our Mexican food Very seriously and I have never had Mexican food like this... it wasn't badd it just wasn't Mexican food... This restaurant would not make it In Texas... Ordered a taco for a side just to see how they were for $3 I need to say don't do It.. Chips in salsa in Texas are put on your table without asking for them you guys want 4 bucks for chips that were not crunchy they were in a tub outside with high humidity they weren't stale that they were not fresh and the sauce was black beans and corn... In all fairness the service was very good..

I have been here both Friday night and Sunday night. I was disappointed on Friday . The four of us in my party were seated by a bus boy complete with shorts and towel over his shoulder.I asked if he was taking us to the gym or to be seated . We stopped at 4 tables before he found the right one for us. The server was nice and that was the best part of the night. Food... None of us were pleased... Move forward 9 days to Sunday the 28th and it was like I was at another place. A very lovely lady escorted me and two ladies to the garden area where the fans were blowing, the live music was nice, the server was a gentleman that absolutely knew the menu like a Chef. He was kind and professional. We complimented him numerous times . The meal was excellent... The drinks were excellent.. the atmosphere was fantastic, the dessert ... Oh my ... Just wonderful. So to be accurate and fair, I figure the first visit was bad timing . The second visit was classy and professional. I will be back very soon.

Ecuador food, which is sort of like a fusion with Cuban and mountain Mexican, and that's not really doing it justice. Spicy and fruity, and cheesy and delicious. Locally owned and operated. It's sort of in the center of bath house row, but despite being prime tourist area, the prices were reasonable. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. Chef owners who oversee every plate before it leaves the kitchen. Worth the visit.

Good food and fun atmosphere. Limited menu and lacking on beef dishes if that is what you are looking for. Try anything with the Argentinian sauce and mango sauce. Best desserts in town. Definitely a must if you are spending the night in Hot Springs.

Upon initial arrival it seemed the staff were less than thrilled about us showing up. Quickly told us to find a seat and after we were seated just pointed in the general direction of the bathroom when asked This may have just been due to an unpleasant guest before our arrival, Im not sure. However about halfway through our meal they seemed to lift their spirits. The food is good, but this restaurant is really about presentation. Everything we ordered came to the table looking immaculate.

Absolutely one of our favorite restaurants. There is nothing on the menu that could be considered a less than stellar choice. Drinks are perfect. Staff is wonderful. I love love love the Quesadilla de Chivo. The popeyes burrito is amazing as well, especially if you have a bit of a larger appetite. The atmosphere inside and out is incredible, though my wife and I prefer upstairs or out back beside the mountain. Gorgeous. This has long been an absolute favorite. Give it a try, if you havent already. And drop in again if you have! Your appetite will thank you!

It’s been around 5 years since my husband and I have been and we still talk about this place often. We enjoy trying places that are a bit of looks can be deceiving on the outside, little hole in the wall type if you want to call them that. The food was plated amazing and delicious. We look forward to coming back again!

Fabulous food and atmosphere. We went on a Saturday night and sat on the balcony seating. Sucked that the live music had already stopped when we got there at 9 pm, and would suggest having some music playing at all times, but that was the only thing that was unfortunate. The staff was friendly, and service was quick. Really cool design of the place. Will be going back on our next trip.

Rolando's ambiance, food, and service are all on point. We had the queso fundido, tamales, and fajitas - ALL AMAZING. Their black bean and corn salsa is to die for. If you get the chance to go, sit out on the back patio, it's phenomenal. We will return again and again!

Ok food, not great service. Go to the German Restaurant instead. Food was ok, my shrimp were underdone and my beans cold. I didn’t eat one of the shrimp because it was still gray-ish translucent. Texans you will not enjoy this food. Limited spice, no heat, and everything needs salt. A bussing gentleman picked up my guacamole before I was finished with it and another one came by asking if I was done, when I still had food in my mouth. Was never asked if I wanted a refill on my drink or if we wanted dessert. Bill came quite quickly. Our waitress was kind but got out order wrong twice. When the bill came it was off by about $100. She apologized and corrected it. We were concerned we were going to get charged twice so we asked a clarifying question. She said that our first swipe would be voided at the end of the night but if it still goes through call them to fix it. We asked ‘can you just void it now?’ She said she was unsure but would go ask the manager. We said ok great. She seemed really stressed so we were as smiley and helpful as we could be. She seemed really flustered and had 2 other women talking her through something. We empathized and waited patiently because we know how stressful food service can be! 5 mins later another waitress walks over and asks us to move so that they can seat a large party. Our reservation was for 7:30 and she asks us to do this at 8:10. She said if you’re going to just sit and listen to the music we need you to move to accommodate a large party coming in. We explained we had no interest in listening to the music but were waiting for our waitress to clear something with the manager. She walked away. 2 minutes later this same woman, not our waitress, came back and explained the manager was behind the bar and too busy to come but she promised we wouldn’t get double charged. We said thank you but can we see a voided ticket because we are from out of town and don’t want to deal with this over the phone. She told us she’s been working there 8 years and assured us it was fine and asked if we could please move (again). Her attitude was condescending as she was literally 6 inches from my face and blinking her eyes sternly, acting in a huge rush, and talking to me like a stubborn child. I asked her ‘if she was ok because she seemed upset and is acting pretty rude.’ She snapped I AM not! So we stood up to leave and she said y’all can stay as long as you want but just not here. I said it’s pretty clear you want us to leave so have a nice evening. She rolled her eyes and left. Where did OUR waitress go, why was this other woman stepping in, why was the manager working a bar and too busy to make sure his customer didn’t get charged $100 extra? We have no idea but will not be back. We still tipped 20% and left the live musician a tip but when you feel that unwelcome you get out and go to any other of the many restaurants for dessert.

The food was amazing! But the service ruined our experience. Our fun girl's weekend ended at this restaurant for dinner. We were seated promptly and waited 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We watched others come in after us get service right away. My friend and I didnt say a word. When they realized they forgot about us.....the waiter acted as though he was doing us a "favor" by serving us. Our food came out quickly and before I could even finish my meal, the server came out to box up my food. They couldn't get rid of us fast enough. Other servers stared at us and whispered, rolling their eyes. We felt super uncomfortable. It ruined the beautiful atmosphere and delicious food.

Amazing food!! We stayed in Arkansas for a few days and came her twice because the food was that good. I would recommend asking to sit out on the patio, it’s beautiful. There’s lights hanging up, and the side of the mountain is right there! Definitely wish we had one where I lived.

We made a 7pm reservation for 5 on the patio. When we arrive promptly at 7pm, a table for 5 was not available because the party seated at the table they “planned” to seat us were “still hanging out and enjoying drinks, which is beyond their control.” There was a large party table that seated 14 in the back corner of the patio, but we could not be seated there as “if a party of 10+ were to come in we wouldn’t have anywhere to seat them.” After 15 minutes of debating on where to seat us, it was decided to merge a small four-top and a two-top table together. After finally being seated, we were really hoping that our dining experience could be salvaged with our food and drinks. Sadly to say, it was not. Our server, Cole, stated that he would do whatever he could to make things right after the reservation mix-up, but with the sarcastic undertone, we knew that wouldn’t be the case. He took our drinks and appetizers order, but then came back about 5-10 minutes with pen and paper to ask us our drinks and appetizers order again only this time writing it down. When he came back later with our drinks, one was wrong and we had to get Cody, the other server working the patio, to fix it for us. Cole came back and took our food order. When repeating the orders back to us, he would pretend to mess them up to what we assumed were supposed to lighten the mood, but it fell flat. Guacamole and queso were great. Drinks were overpriced. Entrées were flavorful, where the rice and beans were lacking even salt. When it came time for checks, Cole took it upon himself to split the guacamole and queso between all 5 of us in the party without asking first. Upcharged the margaritas with Hornitos, although, they tasted more like punch than an adult beverage. Upcharged for pork even though the Quesadillas de Chivo come with either chicken or pork (never mind that chicken was ordered). Our experience was not great, which was only made worse by seeing how attentive and friendly Cody was to all of his guests. Cole was even slightly better to his other guests, but that may be because closing time was only about 15 minutes away and he probably just wanted to clock out right at 9pm. I recommend just ordering to-go from here.

Food and service was good. Prices are fair. Atmosphere is nice and the patio in the back is very interesting. It backs up to a natural rock wall and is very rustic. The ground is very rocky and uneven so high heels are not recommended if you want to dine on the patio or at least be very careful. Upstairs is a fancier dining experience and is basically considered a speakeasy. A unique dining experience for sure. 4 stars due to an inconsistent quote on wait times and limited waitstaff. The location is along a busy festive street. Parking is free out front and there are good parking locations around.

Come here every time we are in Hot Springs and are never disappointed. Everyone we’ve brought with us has really liked it also.

We visited on the evening of Sept 28, 2018. Our group was a large wedding party (16 total), and we sat outside. First, the place is gorgeous, and the patio has an amazing view! But more to the point, the staff and food were absolutely excellent. Our group presented a unique challenge because one set of grandparents decided last minute they wanted to come, but they both have great difficulty walking/climbing stairs (patio and speakeasy are upstairs). They decided they really wanted to tackle coming upstairs, and the staff took it in stride. They were kind, helpful, and understanding overall. I work in the service industry as well, so I recognize that it takes a lot out of restaurant staff in similar situations and am both incredibly grateful and hugely impressed. Once we got everyone into place, our server, Cole, was outstanding. He was incredibly attentive, very kind, and made the experience a wonderfully pleasant one. The food was fantastic as well. Plus, the live music was a great bonus. Thank you for such a wonderful experience and for handling our group with such great attitudes.

My husband and I went to this restaurant, and, at first, all seemed well. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, then our server finally came by after 15 minutes asking what we would like to drink, left, came back with our waters, and she immediately turned around, before I got out, miss, we would like to order. She looked at me then said, one minute. She was more preoccupied with getting another table out, then with her new customers, who had already been waiting 25 minutes to order. Not good, and I specifically picked this place out. It didn't seem to matter when we just up and left. It seems like service has been better for others. Wonder if the food is good?

If you want Tex-Mex... Wrong venue. This is an experience in flavor and color. This is Latin America in North America. I had the Susu's Enchilada, and it was an exquisite culinary adventure. The restaurant itself is eclectic with an old world vibe to it, authentic region specific decor, low lighting and friendly staff. You can hear Spanish jabbering in the kitchen as plates filled with aromatic food decorated like a five star coat and tie joint make their journey to eager patrons. Highly recommended. We will be back.

One of my Favorite places to eat when visiting Hot Springs. The food is always tasty. The outdoor section is well shaded and the fans keep it reasonably cool.

The quesadilla de chivo was very good. The tamales were horrible. The server was pushy and impatient. Didn't have the "speakeasy" vibe I was hoping for. Wouldn't recommend.

Great Service and Grest Food. I had the Shrimp Quesadillas along with some guacamole and salsa. All the food was amazing. There is also a gorgeous patio out back. Definitely would go again.

I loved the food here it tastes great and even though some things were a bit pricey the atmosphere made it worth it for me. The place is so cute inside and out. Eating outside in the nice weather had a classic Arkansas vibe.

Food was not good. My daughter enjoyed the atmosphere for her birthday but they were so busy the food quality was poor. There was a burned food smell that was lingering out the door onto the patio where we were sitting. We also witnessed two ladies falling on the uneven loose stones on the patio. Do not wear heals ladies if you intend on dinner in the patio area. We had dinner once before and the food was excellent. This night the chips were stale, food was lukewarm. Hmm if they are busy your taking a chance on an expensive meal that's not worth your time or money!!

I originally posted this restaurant as having 5 stars. It wasn't until I needed a copy of the receipt that I was treated very rudely. I called the restaurant 5 different times and asked for a copy of my receipt. Each time they said they would help but I would never hear back from them. The 5th time I spoke with Tom who was very rude. He asked what I ordered and I tried to remember but when the totals did not come out right, he stated that I was, "killing him." I then told him I was sorry but I had called 5 different times and had never received a copy. He then proceeded to tell me it was not his fault I lost my receipt. I told him I didn't appreciate him being so rude to me and I told him to forget about getting me a copy. He then hung up on me. I will not be back.

Stopped in last minute. Cute place on Central avenue. Waking distance from most hotels downtown. they have three separate dining areas. Downstairs, upstairs, and an outdoor area. The upstairs is a speakeasy, so that's kind of neat for the area. Two of us had the enchiladas and one of us had the cheese quesadillas. The food had a great taste, but we all thought that it could have used a little bit more heat. Maybe some fresh jalapenos. You can afford to eat on a smaller budget, but they also have items near 20 bucks that sounded pretty good as well. The wait staff was incredible.

This restaurant was incredible. We went on Sunday evening and sat on the outdoor patio with the live music. The atmosphere was awesome and the food was even better. I am from out of town and thought this Ecuadorian restaurant was sensational.

Possibly a favorite in Hot Springs for me. This is NOT traditional Tex-mex, which I think accounts for some of the low ratings. Our food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. I don’t usually like black beans, but however they prepared them was wonderful. My husband enjoyed a cocktail and it was good. Very strong, which is nothing to complain about. Service was great. I will definitely come back when I visit.

I truly enjoyed this place. Usually Mexican cuisine can get typical in flavors but this one was different. Each dish was wonderfully prepared and the flavors flowed together. Presentation was key and the staff one the menu.

UPDATE - Can reaffirm previous assessment. Still impressed with the food, still disappointed in the drink. They worked with my unique dietary restrictions, essentially had gluten free shrimp tacos with goat cheese and they were delicious! I again ordered a patron drink, my husband a crown drink and neither was super impressive. ORIGINAL - Food was delicious, portions were HUGE, and the outside patio is romantic and breathtaking. I was disappointed in their drink special - a margarita with Patron. It was blue and tasted like straight water. We may return for a meal, but we'll go elsewhere for a drink.

We had the most amazing "drop in" experience! We were accommodated quickly. The food presentation was incredible (I have never had better Cuban rice) and Christina, our server, treated us as if we were royalty. Would definitely recommend!

We parked at the Top of the parking garage so we could easily walk to the outside patio at Rolando's. It's a cozy, romantic, dimly lit outdoor patio built into the side of a mountain in downtown Hot Springs. The view over downtown Hot Springs, is beautiful, as well. There's a little platform extending from the side of this mountain, where a musician was playing as patrons were dining...Nice ambience! After being seated, our friendly waiter comes by and takes our drink and appetizer order. We started off with the fresh perfectly seasoned Guacamole. My friend and his cousin ordered Lula's Enchiladas - 2 Corn tortillas filled with chicken and cheese with a Tomatillo sour cream sauce served with seasoned rice and black beans. Delicious! I ordered the Chico Burrito - A small flour tortilla filled with chicken, beans, rice, cheese and sour cream sauce. Perfect! The food at Rolando's is not like the Tex-Mex we're use to in Texas. It's mild and has more of the Cuban flare. The Black Bean and Corn Salsa is not Hot. It is a smoky seasoned salsa, and it's delicious! All in all, we had a wonderful dining experience. The friendly wait staff, the food and the ambience were all really good.

If you love Mexican food then this place is a must visit for the Mexican foodies. It has a Latin twist to some of the dishes. Service was excellent, the guacamole was great, and cheese sauce to die for. The outside patio upstairs is beautiful, and romantic at night from what I've heard. I went during the day, but still wasn't disappointed. Love, Love Love this place.

Our old lady server refused to take our picture because she was "busy". She could have done it easily in 10 seconds. She didn't even offer to take our picture right before we left. We had to ask the young man bussing the table to take our picture. She also didn't ask if we needed anything or if we liked our food while we were eating. Otherwise, food was great & delicious.

Service, cleanliness and atmosphere were great! The tamales tasted good, but there wasn't enough meat inside to even qualify as a meat tamale. Ca'mon there was enough cornmeal in one of those things to feed a family of 4 for 2 years. Where's the beef?
