Great place for sushi

danielle eberhart

By far my favorite Japanese restaurant, I love coming here with my friends and trying new sushi. The wait staff is attentive and will answer any questions you may have, and recommend something if you are new and unsure what to get. This restaurant is a nice oasis from the city and is a great escape for a delicious lunch at cheap prices. I highly recommend trying the Alligator roll.

Love the staff here. They're always friendly and open, makes me feel at home. The ramen is amazing! All the plates are well presented, too.

Leon Hess

Wonderful Japanese food. Can't give it 5 stars, because they changed the menu and removed some of my favorites. Still worth the trip for me, though.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We stumbled across it while visiting. The food was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly. The little shop with Japanese grocery’s and candy was an unexpected surprise. It was so good we brought our friends there the very next night. I wish I lived closer because I would be here all the time.

James Bottorff

Not good at all

Jason Reed

Very good service and the sake was very good. The sushi rolls are very large so I might suggest asking the sushi chef to make smaller rolls if you don't feel you can eat them in a single bite like you are supposed to.

Don McMatch

Authentic. Highest quality ingredients, masterfully prepared. Ichiban!

Jake Pannell

Food is great. Service not so much. Pre-hydrate before you go as odds are you will only see your server two times. Help wanted sign has been hanging up by the bar for over 3 years.

Paul Bailey

Amazing food and a unique selection.

Clyde Carr

Great sushi for the price. Cool little store too.

Thomas Nienaber

Great food and service! Quiet and authentic cuisine.

Great Japanese style cuisine. They have good lunch boxes and make some of the best sushi in Arkansas. This isn't a hibachi style restaurant just a heads up. Try the Unadon very good eel over rice.

Love the selection of food offered. Never a let down and always friendly service.

Diwrnach The Destroyer

Now that igibon which was my favorite Japanese place in LR has closed I am always looking for a replacement, I feel for lunch the bento box options to be a good value for the price, plenty of sushi options and service was good all times I have went.

Did not realize before coming that hibachi was not an option. Decided to stay once we we seated. Ordered chicken fried rice and an appetizer fried shrimp.....40 minutes later, still no food and no updates from our waitress. When I questioned about our food, we were then told the kitchen was backed up and "our ticket should be next". No plans to ever return.

Timothy Krebs

canyon geisleman

As someone who traveled to Japan on an exchange trip last summer I can say this restaurant is a total treat! Be prepared for real, authentic Japanese food. The Udon is so flavorful, and the variety is amazing. The older Japanese lady who owns the restaurant is such a nice lady too, she makes you feel right at home. P.s. if you want to be super adventurous try out the Unagi! It's a personal favorite of mine.

Taylor Adney

Had to wait a bit before someone came out to seat us. The seaweed salad was the only thing that was good. The mushroom tempura was disappointing, the udon and pork ramen was garbage, and the dumplings were soggy in the middle. The waitress forgot to put our order in, so we had a longer wait. The udon was bland and too hot to eat for at least 10 minutes. Waitress would forget to check on us and seemed out of it. Never going here again; it's just not worth it. Had to go to Taco Bell afterwards to find something to eat.

edee C.

One of my all time favorites. Great cozy feel. When seated u get a warm towel for ur hands. Their sushi is the best. Menu has plenty of variety if u r looking for more Japanese type dishes. Fried octupuss was great too.

james williams

chicken was nasty and order shrimp sushi and when it came had stuff on it not declosed on menu. Daughter ate one piece and put into napkin and they charged us for it. would not ever come back here.

Michael Goldfarb

I have tried many sushi restaurant in the area and this is by far the best tasting one. The prices are also very competitive. The staff is super friendly. They have a small selection of Japanese snacks to buy from their little store.

Jeff Tripp

4.5 actually, some meals are on the unexpected sweet side but the best sushi I've had in Arkansas.

Regan Conatser

My favorite restaurant in Little Rock. I lived in Japan for 3 years and this is the most authentic Japanese food I've found in the States. Excellent service and very sweet staff. The katsudon is my favorite but everything has been great!

Sierra Snow

The BEST sushi in Little Rock, very reasonably priced for all the food you get, the staff is very kind, very efficient. Love this place!

Joseph Mendoza

I've been here a several times within the last year and my assessment is I enjoy food here most of the time. I cannot attest to the authenticity of the food or how accurate dishes are to what one might order in Japan. My initial thought upon entering the place was it seemed a bit contrived; it just did not feel authentic. Aesthetically, the restaurant is charming and quaint with a warm, crimson color scheme and various ornamental trinkets. Also, there is a small shop in the front of the restaurant where you can buy various Japanese snacks, foods, and novelties. Very cute! Every time I have sat down, the server brings out hot towels, which is very refreshing, before taking drink orders. Mostly, the food was satisfactory, but that really was dependent on the day. Perhaps it has to do with the person preparing the food? Unfortunately, I cannot remember the names of all the dishes I have eaten, but I do remember their tuna tartare is quite lovely, the ramen tends to be high in salt, the octopus dumplings have a strange, post-fresh taste, and the sauce at the bottom of the katsuyadon(?) bowel was terrific. Back to the quality of the food, I believe the food could be better if more attention was paid to the ingredients used in each dish. It's understandable that frozen seafood may not always taste as good compared to its fresher counterpart, but what is not acceptable is trying to mask said frozen taste with other flavors. Given the limited options in town, this is actually one of the better places to go for solid East Asian food. Try 'em out!

Sophia D.

This place is Japanese. I mean, I know that's obvious since it's literally a Japanese restaurant, but this place is REALLY Japanese. Like, some of the waitresses will bow to you and say "arigato gozaimasu" as they finish taking your order. I know exactly two authentic Japanese people and this is the only place that they will consider visiting for Japanese food. The sushi rolls are very filling. If you are eating as a pair, consider splitting the "yum yum special" as it's a great deal for what you get.

Marisol Kilgore

Pork cutlet bowl was so delicious!

CATRINIA ROJAS

Sushi - is fresh (okay) the prices are not bad.

Jordan Butler

Mt. Fuji has the best sushi in Little Rock and at least Conway. Period. Everything from the fish to the rice is very fresh. Even the construction of the sushi rolls feels like they were made to-order, not prepped ahead of time. Not only that, but they offer so much more on the menu. I love their ramen and katsudon, the latter of which remains unparalleled by any other Japanese restaurant in Central AR. Treat yourself to the best Japanese in town. It's worth it.

John Burgess

One of our favorites! We are usually here for "Fuji Friday". Great sushi, rolls and traditional Japanese foods and friendly staff!

kenneth roberts

Best sushi in little rock. Second oldest Japanese restaurant as well, and still going. The owners are the best and make you feel at home.

Stephanie Quinonez

I really enjoy and love their salad with ginger dressing! The sushi is good and the undo noodles are my favorite! The service is good but there was one time when it was horrible.

Kristin Page

Great customer service !

Ben Gilbert

One of my favorite local sushi spots. Service is always outstanding.

Chrissy Hashman

Fast, friendly service and a nice sushi selection. Wish they had clear soup on the menu; all they offer is miso. Tempura mushrooms are delish and I love the presentation on the volcano roll. Also like the small store they have inside. My new go-to place for sushi.

Michelangelo DeCarlo

They mess up to go orders every time

Lavon Cyr

The best sushi in Little Rock, authentic menu full of Japanese dishes as well

Cyndie Newton Jordan

Small, clean restaurant with great food!

Henry Jonsson

Good standard Japanese dishes. Fish is fresh and clean tasting. If you want sushi in Little Rock this is a good choice.

Paul Thomas

I've been here a few times and every time was a delight. Today I had the Tonkatsu, pork cutlet lunch. Every part of my meal was well prepared and I was graciously served. The meal was hot and complete, and even better was delicious. My server was kind and attentive and even forgave me my broken Japanese. Please visit so I can continue to enjoy their food and company. Doumo Arigato.

Chase B

I picked up a takeout order and the food and service was amazing. We got the Jamaican and Tsunami rolls. It was VERY fresh and by far the best I've had in this area. Highly recommended!

Alroy Avance

Very nice and calm Japanese restaurant. Sushi bar and nice lightings. Great service!

After 3 years in Japan in was hard to find good sushi in Arkansas. Mt Fuji is the best we have found. They are our go to sushi place. And the little store is great too.

Stephen Raney

Chicken teriyaki was awesome.

Christine Ferry

The sushi here has always been SO good, and for the first time last night, I tried a hot pot dish on the menu and it was amazing. The service is always great with a friendly staff. This has become my go-to sushi/Japanese food spot.

Simon Carnal

Must have been waiting for our food for 50 mins. It wasn't even packed maybe 5 tables. I see why people like it. Because by the time you get your food your ravenous, anything tastes good. Had to walk out. Nev again. They should just make it a sushi bar. Because fried rice is too much work.

Rusty Reid

Great place to enjoy a relaxing lunch the staff is very nice and the sushi is very good and fresh! Presentation needs a little bit of work but other wise good

Daniel Pullen

I eat here often, usually at least once a week. This is the best Japanese food in Little Rock. They have the best ramen! The servers are always very friendly!

Angeli Cris Ortencio

Great! Spicy Misu ramen superb. Add 2$ for a delicious crispy fried gyoza.

Carl Shivers

I was introduced to Japanese cuisine at Mt. Fuji. This was over 20 years ago. Since then I have eaten at may Japanese restaurants around the country and have to say, I rarely find better.

Chloe Jelana

T.L. Lowe

Went to Mt. Fuji for the first time before a comedy show, and had the worst experience. There was about six of us, and when we entered the restaurant we were actually the first ones seated. The waitress took our drink orders, once the drinks were delivered to the table she then took the order for our meals. After waiting for 45 minutes our orders had not made it to the table, however everyone that had been seated after us had been served. When we asked how much longer for our orders to come out we were told another 20 to 25 min. Really, for fried rice? The majority of our table ordered fried rice with shrimp or chicken, and only one person ordered sushi. We never got dinner, because we would have been late for our show. I have always heard good things about Mt. Fuji but never got to actually taste anything. I don't think I will ever go back.

Noah Darnell

Love the sushi here. Prices are good, keeping it affordable. The standard dishes are good, too, and the portion sizes are quite large.

Jill Armstrong

A quiet, relaxed atmosphere, attentive and polite wait staff, and delicious, fresh food! My favorite things to try were the alligator roll and the steamed shumai. I will definitely be coming back!

Shameeka Nesbitt

It was great! I went in during lunch and I thought I had to order off the lunch menu only(

Vanessa Medina Palau

Great food and quick service

Ray has been my sushi chef for 30 years. He cuts it carefully and will never serve a less than grade A piece of sushi

Jach

This place was great. The sushi was yummy and the vegetarian Ramen was amazing! My GF had the miso and it was steaming hot. We will definitely Come back.

Madison Goff

Food was amazing. Service was lacking, they seem in desperate need of employees (they have several signs saying "help wanted"). Would gladly go back, I just hope they have more servers next time for better service.

Amanda

First time in 20 years that I have been back here. The food is just as great as it was 20 years agom I will always come to Mt. Fuji when visiting the rock that is small.

Aja Lee

Let’s just say I have found my new favorite restaurant. It’s a very traditional Japanese restaurant. The host and waitress were AMAZING and super sweet. But THE FOOD IS TO DIE FOR! If you are looking for a new and different place to eat, this is the one.

John Bell

We stop every time we come through Little Rock. Who knew? Great Japanese food in Arkansas!

Amy Tilghman

Thought this was buffet and wasn't. Food was good. Unique place to go.

William Merseal

Great selection! Absolutely delicious!

P. Daniel Tell

Always a pleasure. Best in LR. Portions went down, tho.

Aya K.

Lots of good food, friendly employees, and a small grocery section to do some quick shopping.

Brad Horrell

I have been coming to Mt. Fuji for over 10 years. This is the best sushi restaurant in Little Rock, I celebrate my birthday here every year. You will not find a better chef, sushi, or prices anywhere in Little Rock.

Venetia Juncos

Staff is really sweet. The food is authentic and delicious. service is great. Love it!

Will Fuller

I've been eating sushi here for a very long time. As Little Rock's oldest sushi spot it's still going strong after all these years. Join their text list so you know when the uni comes in! =D

Maximus Dzis

Horribly slow service. Did not get waited on for 15 minutes after being seated. Waited 45 minutes before one appetizer came. Waited over an hour before the rest of the appetizers came. Over 90 minutes before all of the food was brought out. The restaurant wasn't even busy. Very disappointing. Absolutely slowest service. SAD.

Allyson Anderson

All I can say is WOW! The food is so delicious! I love all the traditional Japanese dishes. I got katsudon which I've been wanting to try for a long time. It does take a little while for the food to come out but it was worth the wait. We will definitely be back again soon! The little market is also so cute!

Jeffrey Bridgman

This is the most authentic Japanese food I've had on the area. Highly recommend. The little Japanese food/grocery corner is awesome too!

Justin Middlebrooks

Such amazing food it even looked like a Japanese restaurant, just what i wanted. Plus the small market let me taste the tasty and not so tasty food Japan had to offer

Justin Lowery

It will do. Service wasn't great. There were few people there and they never came by to check on us or get refills. The food was okay. Maybe it was just my selections but the spicy tuna was really bad. Their house roll is just okay. Sashimi was good. The prices were good. Cheap sushi at lunch. Parking is easy in and out and the tables are nice enough. Clean restrooms. Just okay. I've been before this review and I'm sure I'd go back again but this wouldn't be my number 1 choice in town.

Daniel White

Love the sushi and the price! A favorite girl my daughter and me.

chadwick king

Ordered Miso Ramen, Teriyaki Steak, and Gyoza. It was pretty good. Even Togo soup which I have to say was pretty awesome.

David House

Delicious! Great Japanese menu and good service.

Angy T

Doesn't feel like a special place. More like it's been run through by everyone. The service was not great and I felt like they were just moving me and out as fast as possible. The seaweed salad was not fresh either.

Brett Clark

Mt. Fuji is easily one of the best restaurants in Little Rock. The sushi is fresh and full of flavor and the main dishes are superb as well. In addition to that, Mt Fuji offers an excellent dinner deal for couples that's affordable considering the impressive atmosphere and quality of the food. Overall, a fantastic restaurant.

T Lee

Great food and great service.

Pat Harris

Excellent food and service!

EMW EMW

Luz Eneida Torres

Nice and quiet, wait staff is attentive and food is very good.

Marion Haase

The food is always fresh and tasty. I have never been disappointed and I do go there at least monthly. Great service and presentation. I am always happy.

Ben Lilley

Takoyaki was obviously reheated from being frozen, not fresh at all. Having been to Japan many times, I can't give it over 3 stars...

Elizabeth White

DO NOT EAT HERE. THEY THINK ITS OK TO SERVE YOU ROTTON FOOD. THE MANAGER IS NOT ACCOMADATING AND HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. THEY PUT MY FOOD ON BROWN AND SLIMY LETTUCE. THEY FILLED MY TO GO BOX WITH BAD CABBAGE INSTEAD OF THE ACTUAL FOOD I ORDERED. SAVE YOURSELF DONT EAT HERE

John Jenkins

Awesome food!

Parker Davidson

Excellent authentic food!

Allison Tucker

This is a great place to find quality and delicious Japanese food and sushi. It's owned and operated by incredibly friendly people who happily welcome and serve you. I've never had a bad or okay dish here. It's always been amazing. I'm a fan of their udon noodle soups and their Sunshine roll is just freakin' tasty. They also have a great shop down stairs to buy everything you need to make great Japanese food and sushi at home.

Scott Sivard

I'll start by saying I can't speak for the sushi and it actually looked pretty good. The service was great as well. Unfortunately, the pork ramen was down right terrible. I'm almost certain it was just packaged ramen with some garnishments thrown on it. The broth had very little flavor. I paid $2 for an egg and it was just a hard boiled egg cut in half thrown on top. I might actually go back again to try the sushi though as it did look pretty promising.

Mark Gonia

I would give this restaurant 0 stars but it will not let me. The service absolutely was terrible. The food was nasty, and it took to long to get it. We unwillingly paid for someone else's dinner! I would not recommend this place to anyone!

Akio of Lud

For the price, youd think this place to be just okay, but surprisingly one of the best sushi places in central Arkansas. Staff is always very kind and helpful. I recommend the hurricane rolls and takoyaki.

Finny

Tasty and good prices

Sherri Benson

I have never eaten at a Japanese restaurant and I don't like sushi, so I wasn't sure what to expect. However, my husband and I were invited to dinner by my boss from a job I held several years ago and who is still a good friend of mine, so we met him and one of his clients there for dinner about 3 months ago. I wasn't crazy about the food, but I think that's just because I don't care for Japanese food personally. The three men I was dining with all seemed to enjoy their meals very much. The wait staff was very efficient and attentive and extremely nice. Service was excellent and the presentation of the food was quite attractive. The decor of the restaurant was exquisite. Very tastefully done, with a definite Japanese flare just as it should be.... in my humble opinion of course. That's why I decided to give this restaurant such a high rating - it just doesn't seem fair to give it a lower rating because of my own personal tastei when it was quite obvious my dinner mates enjoyed the food very much. If you like Japanese food, I would highly recommend that you give the Mount Fuji Japanese restaurant a try. I don't think that you will find yourself disappointed in the least.
