I recently ate here for the first time after years of talking about going. I had heard so many good things. Overall it was a great experience. Definitely get a reservation because it's very busy and you might get turned away if you don't have one. My fiancee and I were so excited to finally eat here. We didn't wait long to be seated and we were brought a pot of bean soup to start us off pretty quickly. It was very hot and delicious. From there though it was a little tough to get service. The larger tables there seemed to get more service while we kept waiting for someone to come back over to our table. Once we got our initial round of chicken and sides we had to wait awhile before seeing our waitress again. It wasn't horribly long, but could be better. The chicken tastes amazing and well as most of the sides. However, our one big surprise that really saddened us was that the mashed potatoes are not fresh homemade mashed potatoes. We could tell they were instant and did not like the taste of them very much at all. Really sad for a home cooking sort of place. You would not expect that. Everything else I can't complain about, it tasted very good and definitely worth the money. I would not hesitate to go back, we just hope that one day they might switched to real mashed potatoes. If you love fried chicken, definitely give this place a try!

This is really a 4.5 rating, but I can't do it that way. I would have made this a 5 star rating, however the chicken portions (especially in the first serving) were much smaller than expected. Otherwise everything was great. Will definitely go back!

Came here on our way back from Eureka Springs. Let me tell you something, if you leave a 1 star and cuss out the owner like one of the guys reviewing. Then you definitely need Jesus or some sort of book on how to treat people. This place was amazing. Food was great. A little bland but that's why there is salt and pepper at the table if you want more "flavor." The owner is a a super great guy and the servers are all willing to help. I will definitely come back here again and again. P.s. And again.

Love this place. 20 years ago I took my soon to be wife, we ate and I went to pay with my debt card. Whoops! They didn't take debit cards at the time. "Ah, just send me a check," said the owner as he was waving his hand. Well, I was able to borrow a 20 spot from the couple we were with and got out of there without too much embarrassment. Anyway, I love telling that story. I love the atmosphere. They've been taking plastic for probably 15 years, I'm still married to the girl I took there that day, and the food is still excellent.

My boyfriend and I drove all the way from Elkins, Arkansas to Monte Ne to try this place cause I have been dying to since I moved here to be turned away because we didn’t have a reservation and there were no open reservations until 8pm that night (we arrived before 5pm opening time) in hopes of getting a table before the crowd little did we know we would be turned away. We did check times before going but did not see anything about having to make a reservation. I am giving 2 stars cause the ladies did offer us take out which was nice but it’s just not the same experience of a small home town established diner without actually dining in. Lesson call and reserve a table even at this place especially if you are driving a good distance.

Monte Ne In is the best Fried Chicken in Northwest Arkansas. They have a family style setup you will go in they will serve you soup it's bean soup absolutely delicious and then they will bring out your main course which will be fried chicken mashed potatoes and gravy corn green beans coleslaw and a small loaf of homemade bread. It's a fantastic place it's a great place to take out of town guests. the scenery is beautiful on the way there after you turn off 71 business in Rogers be sure if you have any out-of-town guests to take them there.

It's famous in this area, yes, that's true. Is it worth it though? For me personally, no, not really. Atmosphere is...uh...rural, at best? Perhaps nonexistent? You're going there for buckets of fried chicken, so, yeah, you're probably not looking for actual atmosphere. All it is is a tiny & extremely cramped building where you sit around a large, round table, and eat buckets of fried chicken, potatoes, corn, etc with mostly elderly, unhealthily-sized caucasian patrons, in a really noisy environment. I know I'm in the minority with my opinion, as most of my family really enjoy the place (which is why I've been twice now), but I suppose it just isn't my style. Looking at the constant 5-star reviews really makes me scratch my head, but it means you should definitely still drive there and give them a try. Just because it isn't for me, doesn't mean it's not for you, as these 5-star reviews would definitely have you thinking otherwise. Go try it! As for me, after visiting twice, I think I've had my fill of this thing.

I first went to Monte Ne Inn Chicken when I moved back from LA about 6 years ago. I gorged myself on fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans, skipped the coleslaw, homemade bread, and their "this is the best thing I've had in my mouth in quite awhile" apple butter. I kid you not, I ate it straight out of the pot with a spoon for dessert (oh, nice segue, drinks and dessert are not included in the price. That was a bummer). Think of Cracker Barrel without the store and throw in all you can eat, and you have this lovely little restaurant that you might have to trek to get out there, but it's worth it. No, really. The only bit of a downside is that the very friendly wait staff often works on much larger tables (guests of 6+) so our little 2 seater was often overlooked. We sat, sad and hungry looking, with empty bowls of potatoes and chicken, just waiting to be noticed and get our seconds (and thirds, and fourths, and... you get it). And often new food was put on top of what was left in the bowls which, at the end of the meal, wasn't the tastiest as the remaining chicken pieces were cold and soggy with grease. My other tiny slight is that I asked for white meat (which costs more. Just sayin') and was never given a good piece of white meat, like a breast piece. Instead, I was pecking away at a tiny wing. Because we did not see our server often, I only had about 2-3 wings (which had very little white meat, considering) and was still a bit hungry, but didn't want to wait another 10 minutes to flag someone down and then wait even more for our bowl to be refilled. *sigh* Unfortunately, on this trip, I wasn't left with the best impression. However, I am more than willing to give it another go because the restaurant is quaint, the staff is lovely, and the food is delicious. My biggest advice is this: get a reservation. I once showed up and was turned away because I didn't have one. Thankfully, this past week when we went, the hostess was kind and gracious and worked us in. This is not the norm! I repeat, get a reservation! There is nothing more harrowing then showing up with a rumbly in your tumbly that only sweet and delicious, good ol' fried chicken can satiate and being turned away with a literal "there is no room for you at the Inn". As a marketer, I implore you Monte Ne Inn, please advertise. I love your restaurant and, because I never see it advertised anywhere, it simply fell off my radar. And I know I'm not the only one. In fact, the only reason you got on my radar was because I saw a billboard for fried chicken at Cracker Barrel. After about 2 weeks of not making it to get that down home chicken fix, it dawned on me that, wait a minute! I went to a place when I first moved back that had fried chicken! Aaaaand it was really really good! What was the name of it... wait, wasn't it far out or something? A short Google search later and, BAM!, on the radar. I would recommend a mix of traditional (especially for your older diners) and digital media. Hopefully I'll make it out there before another 6 years pass.

Come hungry. It is the next day as I type this and I am still full... food is served family style and is all you can eat. The chicken and sides were great and the service good. You need a reservation to eat here. We had to wait 25 minutes after our reservation time but they apologized, told us that is not the norm, and gave our whole table free desserts for the wait.

Meh... really gone downhill over the years. We went with another couple and we all thought the same thing. I hate to say this, but Popeyes and KFC have much better chicken. Most of the crowd were seniors so I think from a nostalgia point of view, I get it. But the main course of chicken and even most of the sides were bland, too salty, or nothing to write home about.

This is a brilliant business model: basically they cook everyone the same thing. The dishes come out in huge pots and bowls and are placed on the table family-style, and everyone serves themselves up and eats until they can't anymore. So if you aren't in the mood for delicious fried chicken, freshly made bread with apple butter, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, navy bean soup, and homemade cobblers, this isn't the place for you.

All are outstandingly delicious, except the corn, which is canned, not frozen. If you have room to spare after eating this all-you-can-eat meal, the blackberry cobbler a la mode is to die for. The service here is great and staff very friendly. This restaurant is my favorite go-to place for a home cooked meal.

As far as food this place is just ok. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. As far as service our waitress seemed stressed out and quick with us the whole time. Now granted we were a party of 14, but that should have been her time to really shine because that is a lot of pockets to impress. I promise we are not a super needy group, we didn't ask for much other than a couple of refills. Unfortunately I did find a hair in my food, which kind of killed my opportunity to satisfy my appetite. Maybe it was a hair from my own collection but it didn't really appear familiar to me. All this being said there is always going to be someone that has a not so great experience. I would say that if you haven't ever tried Monte Ne you should give it a try. I personally have heard a lot of great reviews on this place, and was witness to the line of people, without reservations, waiting to get a table. So regardless of my ne saying, give it a try.

Great food! I've not experienced a restaurant like this before. There is no menu, they just start bringing you food as soon as you sit down. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, etc. They will bring you as much as you want. You'll have to roll yourself to you car when you're done!

Went with family here for my wife's Dad and Moms anniversary. They had our reservation ready and promptly seated us. Very friendly staff. Very well prepared family style chicken dinner. Everyone in our party got all they could eat and we all agreed it was a pleasant experience! Thank you Monte Ne Chicken Inn.

For those looking for a historic, homestyle, Family dinning experience that reflects the area, culture and people that built Northwest Arkansas look no further. Sure you can look at it as dated but you’d be missing the point thou freshening up the place wouldn’t kill that vibe if done correctly. There is no menu, it’s a chicken dinner with all the trimmings, save for no cornbread (guess were not “that” far south) The bean soup is probably more legendary than the chicken. It’s fabulous and confusing all at the same time. I’ve never seen a bean “purée” before, almost a broth it’s so blended. The chicken is all you can eat and served family style with fresh bread, green beans, corn, coleslaw and mashed potatoes and gravy. Others have said it’s like Sunday dinner at grandmas. Apparently their grandmother couldn’t cook like mine! The chicken is good just a bit bland and dry. The potatoes obviously aren’t house-made and none of the sides are stand outs. However everything is good and as a whole makes for a nice meal. Service is ok with servers constantly running food and drinks to a usually packed house. The more experienced servers being better than the lesser so of course.

Always great, always delicious! Family style meal with all the fried chicken you can eat! They keep it classic, keep it simple, and serve what they do best fried chicken, mashed taters, green beans, corn, slaw, gravy, and cobler.
