This Restaurant is included in the category of Japanese restaurant.
We enjoy the Japanese white tea. Good variety of sushi to try and great service.
The food is beyond amazing. The atmosphere is perfect. The staff is as friendly as can be. My favorites here are the soft shell crab tacos to start with, followed by the Dragonsbreath roll. Paired with a nice aged scotch from their great selection. This was not my first time here, and will definitely not be the last!
Perfect place for a date! The sushi was some of the best around.
Amazing drinks, great environment!!!!
This place is the best in all of AR. Hands down the best. From the appetizers to the main dishes the flavors are on point and surpass your expectations
The food itself was absolutely amazing. So worth it, even despite the fact that when I went there last time, there was some stickiness on the floor and counter. However, their catapiller roll more than made up for this. It was to die for!
If you are passing through, new or unsure of the sushi scene in Fayetteville then look no further. This establishment provided some of the best authentic sushi I've ever eaten. The staff (Jordan especially) is well versed and incredibly knowledgeable regarding the sushi they provide and goes out of his way to provide excellent pairing options with your meal.
Great atmosphere, cool music, and excellent food. Their new location is very nice. The ambiance is very refined, but relaxed. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, happy to explain any item you have questions about and open to giving suggestions. I went with a Build Your Own Bowl and got vegetarian broth with ramen noodles, flash-fried tofu, and sambal (x2). The broth was excellent, the noodles cooked to the perfect degree to be soft but still have a good "bite", and the variety of ingredients made for a rich, flavorful soup with an interesting collection of contrasting and complementary textures. I will definitely be visiting again soon.
Delicious!! Service and food were great!
Always enjoy my meals there. Sushi is good and service is great. Darwin has done a bang up job.
It was excellent, the sushi was fresh and I had the tonkatsu and it was
I would say this has to be the best Japanese restaurant in Fayetteville Arkansas. Food was excellent. Prices are fair. Look forward to going back again.
When our other sushi place closed it took me 3 years to find another that I liked. This place is almost perfect! (My other sushi place used to give me free Sushi!)
I usually do edamame and sushi take out for lunch and the hostess takes very good care of me every time. My 2nd favorite Japanese restaurant in Fayetteville.
Ramen and sushi we're great. Service was awesome.
The sushi was one of the best I've had.
Tasty sushi & great service!
Food is always excellent and staff is attentive. We come here often, but my favorite experience was Valentine’s Day! They made our date night romantic and special... even after 20+ years of marriage!! ;)
We love coming here, and have become regulars. The food and service are both exemplary! The Dragonsbreath is the best sushi roll
Hands down the best ramen I've ever had.
Clean food and good ingredients. Excellent service with a sophisticated ambiance.
Easily the best sushi in Fayetteville. They get the best ingredients they can, and the owner and head chef knows what he's doing. Whether you like sushi rolls or more traditional nigiri sushi, you will not be disappointed. For those who aren't big on seafood, their teriyaki plates and ramen bowls are absolutely wonderful. If you want a little bit of everything they have to offer, save for the noodle soups, I would reccomend the bento. You can pick two to three items, depending on whether you want a lunch or dinner bento, and they offer any of their teriyaki dishes in that, along with a side, a choice of rice, and if you want to brave some sushi, they have a few options at no extra charge.
Best sushi I've had in NW Arkansas.
The menu is awesome! The display of the food is impeccable and the taste is better than you will.fomd anywhere in Arkansas! Beautiful experience!
Some of the best sushi I have had anywhere!!! We have tried about everything and now we always order the chefs choice rolls. I love the element if suprise and we eat here so often they seem to know what we really like. Everything here is fresh and amazing!!! If you eat any where in NWA it must be here
I’ve been to many Japanese Restaurants and this one is honestly not as good as everybody says it is. The portions are terrible for the pricing. The photos you are are what they actually look like, but not what you wold think it tastes like. I ordered the Build Your Own Bowl: Szechuan Seafood Udon Noodles with Bulgogi, an extra egg and a side of kimchi. Looked perfect, thought I was about to go ham, but nah not really. My date ordered a bento box with chicken teriyaki. It was okay, VERY small portions for $20. It was like half a hand full of chicken, the fried rice was gritty but decent. The sushi was fresh but not the best like everybody says. Gyoza was not seasoned enough, we felt like we were just eating the wrap with a little salt&peppered meat. The kimchi was really good though, best kimchi in NWA, but the rest of the food is not worth it.
I believe they are in the top tier when it comes to sushi and their fried rice is insainly good.
Great ramen!! Took awhile for the order to be served despite them not being busy but will still visit again.
I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The katsu is to die for, the ramen is rich, the sushi is expertly done, even the salad dressing and the furikake are on point. That's not to mention the sake selection and special drinks. It's a little pricy, but you get what you pay for and I'm going back again soon to try the dim sum Sunday
Really great experience for Sunday lunch. Our waitress was top notch. We shared a variety of dishes: the dim sum was good. The sushi was really fresh. The ramen was phenomenal. Can’t wait to try the udon.
Very good food and service the atmosphere is nice as well!
Great food and a nice atmosphere. The only thing that would make it better would be larger portions. A great upscale restaurant.
Delicious food, and the service is friendly, if a little slow.
It was good food, long wait.
Simple menu with good Japanese staples like Bento Box options and Ramen, with an extensive sushi selection.
Our go-to spot. Fresher later in the week
Sushi, nigiri and rolls, are on point. Great quality fish! A friend ordered the ramen (not sure on the details) and it looked great. Only tried a few bites but the broth and noodles were good.
Took a little bit to order but once we did service was fast. Food wAs very tasty and hot. I had the shrimp teriyaki. So good.
Very tasty and fresh sushi and ramen, great service as well!
Crazy fresh sushi. Expensive, but worth every penny
Decent service but mediocre food and overpriced considering the portions and quality, will not return. 2/10 overall experience.
We have been coming to Mejji’s for as long as they have been open and the food and service has been consistently fantastic. The Spicy Miso Ramen is incredible and the fried rice is the best in town. However, last night we waited for our entree for more than an hour and our food came to us barely warm. It was very disappointing for one of our very favorite restaurants in Fayetteville.
My server seemed like she was having a bad day, but still delivered very good service despite apparent issues in the kitchen. Our crab rangoons came out a little burnt and she insisted on replacing but we told her they were fine. My date liked them crispy, haha. The sushi was very good but a little highly priced considering the size of the roll and how long it took to arrive. The restaurant was nearly empty (we were there in the middle of the afternoon, not a popular meal time) and the sushi chef did not appear until fifteen minutes after we ordered.
The ramen here was kinda strange, like the broth was designed to be cough-inducing. Despite that, the flavor was better than average. The main dining room has great acoustics so it feels really dang loud.
Numerous people had recommended Meiji to me and I finally tried it! The restaurant has a super cool vibe. You feel trendy there. The location is great with ample parking spaces. Food: sushi is high quality and good but my favorite part was the ramen. I tried the pork ramen (my first time to ever have ramen that wasn't out of a package and made in the microwave) and it was remarkable! Portion sizes are appropriate. The ends of sushi rolls are massive
Ordered the bento box with super white tuna, fried rice and crabrangoon. Ordered a zipang sparkling sake. Miso soup and salad with bento box were very good great flavour and fresh. service and food has been amazing. The super white tuna was wonderful beautiful cut melts in your mouth. One crab rangoon was mostly empty but they had a perfect crunch and amazing flavour. Fried rice was great very bold flavour but not over powering. Dipping sauce for the crab rangoon was sweet but light. Server keeps on top of tables very well and always keeps your drink full. Reasonable prices for great food and i am very satisfied. Ordered tiramisu, sweet and a light touch of cinnamon. Darwin stopped to say hello and catch up even being as busy as he is. So satisfied with my visit to his restaurant.
Absolutely delicious food, and friendly staff
Very good. Be sure to ask for the tiramisu. Japanese whiskey soaked ladyfingers!
Fresh, great flavor and presentation accompanied by friendly service!
Loved the Thai beef salad and green curry. Will eat here again.
Best place to go for Japanese cuisine. Friendly staff. Awesome food. Ramen on point. The katsu chicken is a must to get. Great sashimi. Would go again. Just a little pricey but worth it.
The only issue with Meiji is the personal turmoil resulting from trying to decide which of their wonderful deluxe rolls to order. Outstanding food, every time. Love the green tea saketini, too!!
Far and away the best sushi in Fayetteville. I tried almost everything on the menu and I have never been disappointed.
Great food and service at a variety of price points.
Smaller menu selection than other other larger sushi restaurants. The sushi was very good and fresh. Atmosphere is ok but not cozy. Seats about 10 at the sushi bar and maybe 70 or so in the main dining area. I would come again.
Good food, but expensive
First time. Good food. Oddly we got half our order after we were done eating and ready to leave.
Wonderful food, and service. Love the tiramisu too!
best sushi in town .
Food is great and affordable. The place could definitely be a bit more cozy though. Other than that it's good!
Wonderful!
I really try just go here for sushi. Its closed some time. But I love it
Fresh sashimi. Corban at the back area is the best. Highly recommend. Darwin takes alot of pride in serving the best Japanese food in Arkansas.
This place is disgusting. The meals are way over-priced. The food is not good. The restaurant is dark and dingy. It’s just overall, not a good place to eat.
Amazing atmosphere and cuisine
Delicious ramen bowls. Nice atmosphere. Prompt service.
Just picked up some dinner it was really good and I didn't even spend 30 and fed my husband and I and our two young children.it was our first time there but we will defiantly be back. Best chicken fried rice I've had in...maybe ever!
Great food great service
You're in Arkansas don't expect the greatest sushi ever, but if you are ever in Fayetteville, this is a really good place to get some pretty good food.
My partner and I have been eating here nearly once a week for the last year. Food is amazing, service is generally great, atmosphere is top notch, and probably one of our top reasons for coming in so often. It has a romantic yet casual feel. The many eclectic details around the building are also a great contributors to the charm. I would definitely argue that Meiji is one of Fayetteville's best restaurants. (smoked cash roll, and build your own soup bowl are our #1 choices!)
Good experience tonight. One dish was very fair and management came over and addressed quickly. Good service
Very friendly staff, great food. My kids loved it.
Meiji came highly recommended from a few of my friends who live in the area. I wanted a healthier roll without rice and my waitress recommend the triple heater roll. It was delicious and fresh. Great salad and soup as well. I’d go back when passing through the area.
Visited twice. Their tonkatsu is dry, and the sushi fish had an old consistency and taste. I know it's unreasonable to expect good sushi in Arkansas, but gotta rate it for what it is.
Always outstanding. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys sushi. Atmosphere is awesome with old Japanese movies playing. Music is great and the food is unbelievably good!
Best sushi in Fayetteville. Offers fresh wasabi that is so good.
I love this place. Great food and wonderful staff.
After reading the rave reviews for the ramen and sushi here, I was eager to check it out. I love real ramen and my husband loves sushi so it should of been perfect. We got a bento box to share and the pork ramen substituted with the beef to share as well. The presentation of everything was beautiful. But the flavor was mediocre at best. I just paid $30 for lunch for 2 and I'm walking away still hungry): our service wasn't great not bad but as a former server it could have been far better. As for our food. Well I tried to eat mine but it really wasn't good at all so I ate very little of it. My husband always finishes his food and even he was only able to convince himself to eat half of his. The meat had no flavor and the ramen itself didn't smell apitizing at all. .30 cent ramen has this one beat by far. But obviously real ramen with all the additional veggies is always prefered. My husband's spicy tuna roll was warm and mushy. The edamame was hard and undercooked but still edible. The California roll was good though. But it's hard to mess that up sooo. In the end just leaving completely disappointed, hungry and with less $$. I wouldn't recommend this place .
Great food. Great service.
Prefered to see the restaurant is Japanese ran... food was okay!
I used to eat here ALL THE TIME! Amazing sushi, however the past year I’ve been twice and both times service was soooo slow! Once waiting for 15 min before even getting water. This second time it’s taken about 30 minutes waiting in food. I had soup! And one roll. There is one sushi chef, but it’s not even busy inside. Very disappointed because it used to not be like this.
Passing through. We wanted sushi and went due to the reviews. Fish was warm and unevenly cut. Very little fish inside our rolls. Jalapeno in 5 out of the 14 rolls they offer. The photos looks great, but our experience was poor.
Went there with a group of 10 people. Overall the experience was good, the food was tasty and came out as ordered and quickly. The establishment and environment are very nice as well.
The food was very good! The service however was poor. I’d love to recommend this place to many but what really holds me back is the bad service. Our waitress looked very annoyed to be there, didn’t refill our drinks, and the food took way too long to come out. When we wanted to order more food she had a dismissive attitude. The manager had to personally make our last order of food because it was taking too long.
Best Sushi in the State. Always special types of fish available, and great regular menu items. Darwin, Ben, and staff are passionate about their craft. I WILL not eat sushi anywhere else.
Great atmosphere..great food....amazing service. Meets all my requirements.
Always amazing!
Great ramen!
This is our favorite sushi spot in Fayetteville, especially the roll with the thin lemon slices. I love their dim sum Sundays and they have some great ramen as well. It's a rather classy place that often has a Miyazaki film on to enjoy in the background.
Best ramen I've ever had! Perfect for a cold rainy night. Cant wait to come back!
My favorite Sushi spot in NWA. Hands down.
Good service and atmosphere. The food was very good and the price was fair for the quality and portions. Misso soup and salad were particularly good for a side dish.
Hands down the best sushi in NWA. It's the only place I've been to that serves fresh wasabi. Seriously, try it. Everything I've had here was delicious. When I've come with my hard of hearing grandmother the staff have been very helpful and sat us in a quiet area. They seem to show some classic Japanese films above the sushi bar for a fun atmosphere. I've had an incredible dinner with my boyfriend and a great time with my family (except when grandma thought the wasabi was avocado, oh no!)
Food was good but the service was so sloooooooooooooow. I did not time it but wow, it took forever to get our food. It was not that bussy either and we did not order anything complicated. Seemed like the prices were high for what we got too. But when it finally came the food was decent.
Great sushi, we love the spicy crab salad. Clean environment with helpful staff. One of my top 2 places in Fayetteville for sushi.
Great for groups where some eat raw fish and others would never. Wide variety of appeal. Good portions.
Absolutely amazing food! If you're looking for somewhere with an incredible atmosphere, knowledgable and friendly staff, and delicious food, go here! Best specialty teas in Fayetteville, as well.
Solid sushi, much better than shogun. Best ive found in Fayetteville.
Really good! After all the horrible experiences lately it was a good thing to sit down and actually have good food. It looked interesting and i was preparing for the worst but i got the best! Has some of the best sauces in all of nwa Didnt like any of the desert though... But did have one of the best servers and really catered to our every need. Would come back and i would reccomend. Alittle pricy but youre here for quality
AMAZING food! Went on a Saturday night and there was no wait, but we did arrive earlier for dinner. Best Japanese cuisine around! Food-coma worthy and what you pay for is certainly justified. Also, service was SUPREME. Our waitress was so attentive to our needs and helped make the experience even better. Will be going again soon!!
Best sushi in NWA. Unique rolls and very fresh fish. Try the tuna tacos and spicy crab salad too. Order fresh Wasabi with the sushi and sashimi.
Good bento box and service
Always high quality sushi. Some items are very overpriced depending on your perspective. Always very good customer service.
This place cannot be beat! Truly amazing.
Of you're not in the mood for excellent sushi then try the steak fried rice! Hibachi style steak...
Great sushi. We had a small taste of 2 pieces of Super White Tuna (Escolar) which has a great buttery flavor. Then we had the Smoked Cash roll which was unbelievable. Found my new sushi place.
Food is good but service is VERY slow.
This is my favorite restaurant in Fayetteville! The food is always delectable, and when the check comes I'm happy to pay it. The ambiance is perfect, our go to spot for celebrating.
My favorite sushi place. Very unassuming. Fresh food.
Atmosphere was good, sushi was average definitely not the best. Our waitress was very rude. Felt like she hated her job and that we were a bother to her. I didn't want to leave a tip but my wife did anyway but she didn't earn it at all with her attitude.
Waiting for 30min for the ramen, and it is not hot soup… so disappointed for such well decorated restaurant.
Fantastic restaurant with the best sushi rolls in NWA. My personal favs are the Green Goddess and Cobalt!! Highly recommended!!
Great Service and Food.
Such wonderful food! Staff is incredibly friendly and fast!
Stopped in for an early dinner today, the waitress was very polite and patient. I sat at the counter, ordered a beer, the green goddess and asked the chef for one of his choice. The roll was perfect tasting light but filling and a lingering sweet aftertaste. The fresh wasabi and jalapeno was hidden in the flavor and had very little to no spice. I look forward to trying something new again.
Great food and even better service.
Everything was exceptional however I do not recommend ordering the oysters. They might have been slightly larger than my thumbnail and that's not acceptable for 12 bucks for half a dozen. Other than that super duper.
Was told they had the best Sushi. Took direction from our server...ordered the only baked roll. Bad move. It was Awful!!! Wanted to have the crab salad but was told crab was imitation! Seriously?! We also ordered Tempura Veggies...they had a GREAT taste but we're very greasy. The only reason we had a few stars was that we'd like to try again. The Plum Sake was fantastic. Staff friendly.
Ok this place is hit or miss. I absolutely have had a five star excellent sushi meal here but the consistency is so unpredictably bad. Freshness and quality varies too much for me to go back.
I was unbelievably excited to find Meiji. As an avid sushi eater, moving to Fayetteville has been challenging in that aspect. There is good sushi, but not necessarily great sushi. Meiji finally was a place that met my expectations. The price point here is decent as well, I like the three roll combos.
Oh my goodness, best apple dumplings with the salted caramel ice cream. Im dead. A+ (The japanese cuisine is on point as well but this desert really caught me off -guard!)
Not as good as it used to be. Liked it when it was in smaller cozier location a couple of doors down from current location. Fish doesn't seem as fresh. The shrimp soup was not like I remembered from before.
Best Japanese food/food in general in the area. The fish is always fresh and everything is expertly crafted. Cannot recommend enough.
The staff is very nice. Menu is fusion style, not specialized for Japanese noodle, but the ramen tastes great. The reason I gave 4 stars is that they had run out of udon noodle.
Best sushi you can get in the tri-state area! Great service as well! Sushi chef's are very entertaining. Owner is always there which is a good sign of a great restaurant! I try to go there anytime I'm in the area.
Great food and service. The menu is awesome. Something for everyone.
The ramen looks and tastes good! And the sushi was very delicious! Just a long wait for the food
The sushi was amazing!
Great service and atmosphere. We love the sushi here. Also enjoy getting hot tea here.
I've been here about 5 times and have enjoyed it 4 of those times. However, I went the day after Christmas and on my life the sushi was day old. I just don't have room for day old sushi in my life. Sorry.
Really liked the crab rangoon and cucumber salad! I was happy to see that they didn't over cook the shrimp in my fried rice. Can't wait to try their sushi next time!
Amazing, food is great. This is my go to shushi place
Excellent sushi! Meiji offers a wide variety of sushi and other menu items. The bar serves Japanese beer as well as other varieties, moderately priced wine, cold and warm sake, and cocktails. The service is very good. You can eat in the dining g room, cosy bar, or outside on the patio.
Service and food is always good!
I'm always so in awe at the beautiful presentations the sushi chefs come up with. If you haven't tried the Bravo White, the Lava or the Green Goddess- you're missing out!
Good food good service
Love the build-your-own bowl of ramen. That alone keeps me coming back
Everything was so delicious! The shishito peppers were so good and the tiramisu was honestly the BEST I've ever had!
Food was great if you have the time.
Meji has great food and service. The last few times I've been there we've had a large group of people and it's never been a problem. Meji is one of our favorite places in town. Any of the sushi rolls are always a good choice if you're not sure what to order.
I shared a simple bento box with my 3 year old that had shrimp teriyaki, philly roll, brown rice, edamame, pickled veggies, and a house salad. We also ordered miso soup. We both loved everything! And the service was wonderful.
Friendly staff, beautiful rolls, and nice ambiance. Great place for a date! Solid sushi with decent portion sizes, been coming here for years and have always had great experiences.
This is my favorite place for special occasions or just for fun. I've always gotten great service from the staff, but the food is the star. Make sure to request fresh wasabi. You seriously don't know what you're missing.
So all in all 3 1/2. Food was good MOSTLY priced the same as any other sushi bar, BUT there is a few that are significantly smaller sized rolls that they are charging for full roll size. Also the wait was extremely long. I didn't seem to packed it was steady for sure but we waited 20 mins to get a table (due to the fact we have a child) but also waited about 45 mins for our 2 rolls. I did not take any pictures due to the fact the wait time was so long we ate and left. I'm not sure we will be back for dinner any time soon. All in all food was good mostly priced correctly, but very long waits and not the most attentive staff
Service and Food were amazing. The ramen alone makes this place worth it, but you're sleeping on a gold mine if that's all you get from their menu.
Unexpectedly delicious ramen on Sundays. Called ahead of time to check if they had non pork broth and they made veggie broth for us by the time we got there. We didn't have the sushi but the ramen and tea were great.
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday, because I'd been dying to try Meiji. I liked the interior of Meiji, and my boyfriend said he enjoyed his meal there, but I was disappointed with my premium chirashi. While my meal was beautiful, there was a piece of Saran wrap about the length of my index finger still wrapped around/entangled with a piece of fish/the ginger. I also felt like, even though we paid for the premium, I was given poor quality cuts of the fish. Generally sashimi is soft and easy to chew, but a good number of the pieces felt almost gristly(?) in my mouth. My boyfriend said he enjoyed his meal.
Meiji has high quality foods, experienced servers, and provides a good environment for a sit-down meals.
Clean environment. Good food . Friendly Staff.
Delicious! My new spot for sushi.
great people and food
Great, fresh food. Nice environment. Sever did a fantastic job. One of my favorite sushi restaurants.
Chef Edgar made me some delicious sushi! The atmosphere at this place is great with cool music and Japanese movies playing on the projector screen. If you want flavor, try the lava roll, and the scallop teriyaki is amazing too! And they have the best crab rangoon I've ever had. If you like Asian food, Meiji is a must.
Really good tasting sushi and good service
Our favorite. Anytime. We’ve been coming here since it opened but never wrote a review... Wentnin late one night, almost closing time. Felt as welcome as ever. Owner is kind and friendly, down to earth and welcoming! That night He stood at the bar and chatted with us even through a lot of our meal, and we learned more about this amazing place and the heart behind it. It’s our favorite carry out too. Date night for us is Meiji Sushi to go — in our den! ❤️ Favorites are Spicy Tuna, Smoked Cash, and Green Goddess, but literally have NEVER had anything bad there! Thanks Meiji!
Best Sushi I have ever had! Best place to go for sushi in Fayetteville. I got the Smoked Cash and it was amazing!
The food is excellent. Well seasoned and the service is great. The prices are very reasonable.
