This Restaurant corresponds to the category of French restaurant.
We had a dinner party for work here and everything was great! I had the Grilled Romaine, Buffalo Tenderloin, and Chocolate Souffle. The food tasted amazing, the presentation was great, the staff was very nice and helpful. We work here a few times with work and we are never disappointed.
Here recently for a business meal. Ample parking near-by or valet. Service was polite, attentive, and efficient. Food was definitely not typical and it was fun to try new things. Personally, not my favorite meal ever, but from the talk of other diners in my group, I should've had the buffalo and not the scallops. I don't live in Memphis and had been to this fine restaurant in a number of years. Great news: it is better than ever. I started with sweet breads and moved on to sea scallops. Both superb. Fine dining should always be like this.
So nice sometimes I don’t know whether or not I should eat the food.
Absolutely extraordinary! My 4th time here and Mr Jensen has never let me down.
Very sophisticated atmosphere! The menu can be a bit intimidating for those that don't dine at places as fancy! All in all a great meal and experience!!
Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Ever. No joke. It’s absolutely incredible. Had the antelope. Can’t wait to go back.
The best fine food chef in Memphis is Erling Jensen. No doubt! If you haven't been try it for a special occasion or any occasion. I had the Black Angus Filet...yes it was melt in your mouth tender. Both the main and bar menus are broad enough to have something for every taste.
We returned to earlings to (finally) check out the Sunday night fixed price ($40) menu. It is a 3 course meal. We had the sweet potatoe soup for apps and it was delish! We had beef bourginoun and red snapper as mains and they were both nuanced and tasty. Desserts (blueberry cobbler and creme brulee) were great ways to finish off our meals. the server was ok, a bit too chatty). The portions were very good for fixed price and we will definitely be back for this Sunday night fixed price awesome menu. Thank you EJ!!!
Food is excellent, wait staff is both efficient and friendly. Great variety of choices of high quality food and a wine list that suits everyone's wishes. They create a wonderful dining experience.
Great food, don't miss the Sunday Special, worthy and delicious!!!
Carl's adult beverages are as good as Erlings food.
Wonderful!
Excellent service wonderful food it was a great party for my Mom's 90th birthday
We took advantage of the set-menu Sunday night specials which are 3 course meals for $40 each. The chef also sends out little tidbits to nibble on. We felt that the main courses were not as good as in years past. The steak was rather tough and a couple of bites were “unchewable”. However the asparagus-potato soup and the desserts were excellent. Service was good. The restaurant was very busy.
Great cuisine at a good price. Service is always excellent.
Wonderful place, amazing food, and great service! Will definitely go back.
Excellent food and atmosphere.
This is definitely the best Restaurant in Memphis. You have a variety of dishes to try and I’ve never been disappointed!
Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the entrees and drinks, and gave us good recommendations. We were attracted to this restaurant because they serve chocolate souffle and duck- which were both excellent. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is a fine-dining experience. This restaurant is the best in all of Memphis. The service is excellent. Expansive wine list with a knowledgable Sommelier. Cozy atmosphere. Very unique menu. Reservations highly recommended.
Wife absolutely loves this place.
The wine dinner was awesome as usual.
World class dining experience. We dined here 3 years ago for my dad’s birthday and I still remember the graciousness with which Mr Jensen posed for a picture with our family. A sure place to visit when we next go to Memphis to visit our old friends.
Tasteless, tasteless, tasteless. Expensive for nothing. Don't serve an African person with dis kinda food
Fantastic food, presentation, and service!
Always a outstanding place to eat and visit with family and friends. Number one in my book.
Enough good things can not be said about this restaurant! Small, so reservations are highly recommended. Check out their online menu... And, yes... The food is off the charts good! Staff is very attentive and friendly. Each month (think it's the first Sunday), they offer a $40 fixed price menu, and there is no corkage fee. What a deal!
I came in from LA with three chefs- including one guy trained in France. I have been eating Erling's food for years and hoped these foodies would be satisfied as they all are very picky and opinionated folks not afraid to hold back their thoughts. After tasting a few appetizers the frenchman said "This guy had to be trained in France." He was.
It's always an amazing experience. From the the front door back to the car. It was my birthday dinner, we bypassed the Sunday Specials. The Lobster Pancakes, are a must! There were 4 of us so we ordered 2 orders 1 each. And they served them accordingly. I love the pallet cleasners inbetween coursees.
Great food and service
The food was terrific. Try the Crawfish bisque. The service was great and knowledgeable. While the outside is unassuming, the inside is quite elegant. It is, however, pricey. The bill was $180 for 2, not including the tip but that did include 2 drinks each. I wouldn't go every week but since I live in Albuquerque, that won't happen. It is, however, a special place
The food was amazing good. Had a set menu and the chef was still able to take care of me despite having a fish allergy. Wait staff was very good as well. All in all it was a fantastic meal for the Chaine des Rotisseurs to have. Will gladly return in the future.
Very nice and elegant. The good was great. It was a little noisy but overall I loved it!
Great food, intimate atmosphere. Parking is nonexistent unless you use the Valet, but there are a few spots within a short jaunt. They have a tendency to make their dishes with slightly unusual meats (in the sense that most places don't bother), but with the exception of things like rabbit, this mostly seems to be for novelty effect: Buffalo and elk don't add anything to a dish that beef and venison wouldn't. All that said, when taken together as a whole, it's delicious, and their sommelier has fine pairing suggestions. It's a wonderful place to spend $70-100 a head, but that may be something that many people want to save for special occasions. Worth it, though.
Delicious food and great service!
What a treat! This is the place to go for any special occasion. The menu and service are as perfect as it can be.
This place should have the option of 10 stars. Impeccable service and some of the best food I have ever been served. Fyi on Sunday evening they have a special menu option of 3 courses for $40, also a special bar menu all the time. You have to try this diamond in Memphis. I can't wait to go back.

At the time of this writing, the rating is 4.8. This restaurant is every bit of a 4.8. A handful of visits over the years, and IMO a Best of the Best in Memphis.
Great atmosphere. Superb food.
Fabulous food and service!
The best steak I’ve had in Memphis. I highly recommend both the Bison Filet and regular Filet. Lobster Pancake was unusual. I can see why people like it. It was just a little too dark rich for me. The $40 3 course Sunday Special is too good to be true.
Reserved the table for 8pm. Arrived a little early, seated promptly. Our server was ok but wasn’t very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. Ordered a bottle of vine which was ok for the price , they had a special vodka on the menu and wanted to try that chilled which just came as melted ice with no vodka In it , food was mediocre( ok for Memphis standards horrible for a big city ) The chef was excellent in person , he even checked on us twice himself to make sure everything was ok . Part of the food had salt problems (either too salty or lack of salt). Worst part ; by the time we finished our dinner not many tables left in the restaurant and they started playing awkward music at the bar and they turned off the lights on us while we were having our desserts which was unacceptable. Our anniversary dinner ended up very awkward and not planning to go back.
Great Sunday 3 course menu. Everything we tried there is amazing. Lobster pancake is especially good. Great ambiance. Romantic.
This is the place to take that special date you want to impress. Excellent service, nice atmosphere and impressive food. There's always an "interesting" single price menu on Friday's if you are adventurous. A bit pricy but well worth it.
Great atmosphere. Great chef. Great bartender. Just terrific all around upscale place to dine.
Delicious food. They give you a very personalized experience. Able to alter the recipe to your dietary needs. Highly recommended especially for special occasions or just nice dining out..
Great food, Chef visited our table a few times. Service was top notch and a good wine selection. I had the bison strip, very tasty and something different than just routine steak.
The food was superb! Chef consistently kept besting himself with each course! Go here eat lots!
The service was exceptional. From the valet parking to the waitress/waiters, they were on point. The choice of wines varied and the appetizers prepared us for the scrumptious meal to follow. The lamb and the beef were both tender and juicy along with the sides which complemented the meats well. I look forward to dining there again soon.
I've lived in Memphis for 18 years and can hands down say that is my personal favorite restaurant and the best Memphis has to offer in fine dining. The atmosphere is romantic, quiet and perfect for a date night or small birthday celebration. When you arrive you are immediately greeted by a cordial staff who will then cater to your every need; you will lack nothing during your time there. I ordered champagne since I was celebrating my birthday, and I felt that I was tasting the stars. Everything I ate afterwards was exquisite from the scallops to the bread and salad. To culminate the evening on a sweet note, on my day of birth I was almost laid to rest in peaceful bliss as I enjoyed the chocolate souffle. On an even sweeter and more personable note, Mr. Jensen came out to wish me his warmest wishes at the end of the meal. All around it was a lovely experience that I want to have a few more times in my lifetime.
Hidden jewel! This place is fantastic. Quiet, clean atmosphere. Helpful staff. And the food.... OMG! Amazing food. I had three dishes and they were all amazing. My new favorite food place in the city.
Had the most amazing dinner at Erling Jensens restaurant!! Food and company were fabulous! Our waiter Scott was probably the best I have ever experienced! If you want a high quality meal with superior service for a special occasion or just a fancy night out...Highly recommend!!!! Here recently for a business meal. Ample parking near-by or valet. Service was polite, attentive, and efficient. Food was definitely not typical and it was fun to try new things. Personally, not my favorite meal ever, but from the talk of other diners in my group, I should've had the buffalo and not the scallops.
No words to tell how delicious our meal was. From start to finish. The staff was wonderful! Peden our waitress was the best!! We will be going back real soon!!
EXCELLENT food and service. We hosted a large group and the entrees were exceptional. I rarely post reviews and when I do it is for something really special. This restaurant is 5 star service and food. It can't get any better than this.
This is a very classy and formal dining restaurant. The salmon was excellent
Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Ambiance was excellent. GREAT FATHER'S DAY DINNER.
Awesome food, excellent service, perfect dinner!
I hear it's great if you could afford it. I hear they have a great pastry chef. Chef Chagolla
Very romantic and the food is awesome
Great food. Great dirty martini.
The waffle puff cone is really good and the ice cream was good-tasted like regular ice cream but definitely not worth the price. The staff is also friendly but I don't think the ice cream is special enough for me to visit often. Maybe once a year for to have the puff cone again.
Lovely ambiance and excellent service. Nice wine list.
Great food, great atmosphere and it not too pricey for fine dining
The food was so good it was unrecognizable by my taste buds. Thank you Master Chef Jensen!
Went last year for Valentine's and have since moved away but definitely one of the best meals ive had in my life. Thank you guys for the wonderful memory.
Amazing experience!
Lovely atmosphere, superb food!
Meal and atmosphere was awesome as always
ALWAYS Great food n service
Excellent food and atmosphere
Cocktails were great and the red snapper was superb. I'd recommended everyone.
Service and Food was excellent.
Absolutely phenomenal food and service. Very well priced for a nice date night. My girlfriend was in Paris 3 weeks ago and I asked how it compared. She said she could not tell any difference and it was as amazing as being in France. She stated that hands down, it was the best restaurant in the city. We will definitely be coming back
Very beautiful, quiet, and comfortable atmosphere. Service was 5 star, attentive, positive upbeat wait staff. Table was nestled in the corner. My romaine salad was unbelievable, one of the best. I could have eaten another plate of it. The antelope and flank steak beautiful, tender, and moist. Sauce, wow! The red cabbage tasty.
The food was good but not good enough to merit costing as much as Iris or some other of the finest Memphis dining. Service was friendly and professional.
A birthday dinner. The $40 Sunday meal was wonderful. Roman salad was outta this world, grilled, and dressing just marvelous. The elk and the steak were both terrific. The scallops and squash great, didn’t care for the mustard seeds sauce. Expresso creme brulee was outstanding. Service was fantastic. Very class place. Impressive atmosphere. Beautiful, quiet.

All Star Service and Exceptional Quality. Enjoyed every bite from soup, app, entree and dessert.
This place is THE best place. My wife and I were speechless about some of the courses, and if we weren't speechless we couldn't stop talking about how amazing everything was. If you're lucky enough to have Peyton as your server, ready assured you will be fully taken care of. We can't wait to go back again.

Excellent meal!!
As always the very best in service. And food

Wow, how did it take me 9 years to find my way here!?! A memorable gourmet dining experience, the kind that if you experience more than once in a year of fine dining, you've had a damn good year!! I have no choice now but to make enough $ to be able to make every year a damn good year! I'd say more, but I've got to go look for a second job, it was that good!
