Here you will be able to see the opinions of people who used the services and products of Cafe 1912 (Restaurant) in Arkansas.
At this moment this firm has a rating of 4.3 stars over 5 and this rating has been calculated on 98 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is high, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the valuation is very credible. If people have bothered to rate when they are happy with the business, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to give evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of French restaurant.
There wasn't any glaring issue that resulted in a 3 star rating. It just didn't stand out. The building was older but didn't have the "charm" an old building might exhibit. The lighting was too dim. The chairs weren't comfortable, yet not uncomfortable either. The service left a little to be desired but wasn't atrocious. The food was a little better than average. I guess being turned away previously for not having a reservation set an expectation that the experience was going to be otherworldly and it just was bland, like the risotto. Oh well, I can say I've been there and tried it.
Quiet, fantastic food, a bit spendy but worth it
This might be my favorite restaurant in Memphis. Excellent fine dining quality food at very reasonable prices. Cozy yet tasteful atmosphere.
Every meal here is superb. Try the muscles. Tyler and Justin are real assets.
Enjoyed Sunday brunch with good service. Menu more limited than I expected. Not as crowded as usual so quieter, which was nice. Guess everyone is out enjoying the sunshine!
Small place which is ok, was asked if we had resoverations and there were 2 tables in the place. Ordered the French Onion soup. It was ok nothing special. Had the pork tenderloin but the biggest issue I had was watching the entire kitchen staff barehanded make all the food for us and everyone that came in after us with out washing their hands in between. Not to mention it is code to wear gloves with RTE items. I wont be back. Server was nice and attractive, too bad. I had high Hope's for this place.
Still a favorite...but showing some challenges
I LOVE this place! Sean the bartender is great! Keith the Chef is awesome!
Eric was a great server
Great food, nice atmosphere
Excellent food and service
We love this place! I love the mussels
This by far has been one of my most favorite restaurants since it opened, however, I will not go back. It is unfortunate, as the food is always consistently good. I have had two sad experiences lately, where the host (female w/ short hair and glass has been rude and not honest.) Made reservations for two which were earlier than the prime hour for a Saturday evening. We were seated at one of the two top tables in the window which are on top of each other. There were many open four top tables and another two top just in front of the kitchen within the same room. We requested if it were possible to moved to that table and she was very short. She stated that we must have made our reservations through Open Table. (Not sure what that had to do with it.) I told her no, we had called in. She instantly stated that that table was reserved...a two top at the opening to the kitchen...reserved?? Regardless, it was her poor attitude that set a tone and quickly changed this from one of my most favorite places to a place that I will most likely never go back to again. I would swallow this as a bad hair day for her, but this is the second encounter with HER over the same issue and the same poor unaccommodating attitude. The icing here is that the first time this happened, I stayed and had good food, cocktails and dessert only to see that no one was ever seated at that two top table that I had asked if we could be moved to for the couple of hours that we were there. The saddest part of all of this is that I tell everyone that Cafe 1912 is (was) one of my most favorite places in Memphis. I have now told this new story to twice as many people as I have told it was one of my favorites. Sorry that this happened, but have decided that there are too many places to spend $150 to $175 for two, to be treated with such poor attitude from the "face" (first impression) of the person that greets you and generally makes you feel thankful for choosing them instead of dozens of other restaurants within the area.
I love this wonderful little hidden gem. The food is incredible. Not cheap but not terribly expensive depending on what you order. This French bistro has a full bar and an incredible menu. If you have tried it I highly recommend it. The staff is great and the food fantastic.
This is a wonderful restaurant it has very good food the cooks and waiters are wonderful I would definitely go back many times
Always have a good meal and a good convo at the bar. Memphis neighborhood classic.
We love going here! It is always terrific.
My wife and I have eaten here many times - consistently on point. Excellent menu; great wine selections; great service; and the atmosphere is cozy. Would highly recommend it!
Great service... Food is made to order!
Good food
Very friendly staff and a nice quiet setting
My wife and I have been going to 1912 since it opened many years ago. We like its casual unassuming atmosphere, its well prepared and thoughtful menu. We will continue to come to this inviting restaurant. I hope this comment is not taken harshly or critically because we truly enjoy this restaurant. For the last two Dining experiences we sense we have not been treated cordially by our server. There has been inattention, a hurriedness (5:15 is not a busy time) and almost impoliteness that is so out of character. We ALL HAVE our hard days and certainly servers put up with a lot ( my MOTHER was one for 37 years). However, I wish this eatery to stay strong and viable. Maybe a 'TEAM' evaluation as well as each server simply think, " Am I doing my best as are the food preparers to give our customers a comfortable evening worthy of the expense." Take care, Greer
Had Mothers Day brunch here. Awesome Crab Eggs Benedict with yellow grits. The French Onion soup was great as well. The Bay Scallops were great as well.
Love the burger!
Good brasserie food spoiled only by uneven seasoning.and small portion sizes on vegetables (6 string beans with 8 small cubes of potatoes). Room a little over warm for my taste (was extremely cold outside though. Also prominent display of box wine in the kitchen a bit of a turn off.
Poor service... cock roach in restaurant. Good food but overpriced.
From the moment you enter, you are amongst seasoned professionals. Sara greets you at the door, and sets the tone for the amazing meal that is about to come. No doubt, my ordering is simple - The Nicoise Salad (ordered rare*) an order of Pom Frites, and let whomever is behind the bar, pick out a great Cabernet to go with. (The wine is always super affordable, and well juried!) And whatever you do, save room for desert!!! Justin, the pastry chef is AMAZING!!! Just trust the desert menu, you can't go wrong!!!
This place has everything. Great cocktails, fantastic menu, amazing service, and fun atmosphere. I strongly encourage everyone to eat here. This is one of my favorite date night options in Memphis.
The salmon was great!
Love the atmosphere and the food. The waitresses are very friendly and cool. ❤
Delicious food!
4 Star for food 0 Star for service 0 Star for this occasion Sunday October 27, 2013 I met my friend at the best breakfast location in town, Café 1912 right after church. I arrived 11:45 approx. and he came about 20 minutes later via bicycle. Hesitating to park and get towed I called Café 1912 inquiring about their parking. Settled in across the street and came into the restaurant which was about 35% capacity. Plenty of empty seats in the place. The wait staff was busy, so eventually the male waiter came to seat me. I said for two and requested a window seat (there were several), but I was told no window seats, but we do have a table in the back (it was near the grill and traffic of the staff). All the window seats were reserved. I wasn't sure if my friend would be comfortable with the accommodation so I advised the waiter I would wait until my guest arrive. Mind you I have been to Café 1912 now a total of 3 times. I sat out front and waited upon his arrival we went in and wanted to be seated. Same waiter now stated that there are no seats available but in the back, on patio or out front where you were seated. The time now is approx 12:10pm and not one additional soul has come into the restaurant since I arrived. So its the same 35% capacity. Plenty of seats in our face other than the window seats. I ask again to make sure I heard the waiter say there were no seats. Ah!! My guest is Scottish and I am African American when he arrived we greeted each other with a kiss and hug. Was this an in your face racism moment? A bad attitude from waiter? Or the true reflection of someone's personal agenda being directed toward us? LOL, its 2013 all wait staff should be blind to any such thoughts of classism, separatism, racism. It didn't phase me one iota. What the wait didn't realize is that all the patrons that were sitting in the restaurant who witnessed this act were just as applauded. I made sure I looked at the ones who were being served. Even the cooks were noticing how the waiter refused to seat us. We kindly said okay we 'll go someplace else and went to the Keltic Crossing, although I have thoroughly enjoyed Café 1912's food those cooks know how to burn. Even Barksdale's is great. What would you do in this case? How do you think management would respond to a 1930's action in 2013 at his place of business? LOL, money has legs and when service is terrible/refused it simply walks away from the establishment to make the next restaurant owner happy. I think I'll let faith and management deal with this. LOL, life's a bottle of champagne and cherries........have some.
It was reallly nice and the food was good
Half of the food was over cooked the other half was under cooked. Servers were friendly, but food time to our table was very slow. Not worth the price.
Delicious food.
For years this has been my favorite Memphis restaurant. I crave the seafood crepes, they are Devine. After moving away for 6 years and finally returning home recently, coming here for my beloved crepes was very high on my list. I was so happy to see they were still on the menu and waited eagerly to get my fix. So they were good but they have made some cost cutting changes that I found disappointing. The scallops are now tiny bay scallops, flavorless, might as well leave them out. The shrimp was plentiful and delicious and that sauce, thank God they didn’t change that. They used to give you 2 crepes, now you get only 1 strategically folded to appear to take up more room on the plate. The crepe was also thicker, not the delicate perfection I remembered. Service is still excellent and I will visit again, however I suggest you return to the former recipe. Bring back the sea scallops, and return the portion to 2 crepes and raise the price. I would gladly pay more for this. The new cost cutting version is disappointing.
Cozy, great service, Delicious everything!
Get the Mussels, white wine, herbs, garlic, butter and croutons / Veal Scallopini, pan-seared with mushroom-rice arancini and mushroom Marsala sauce / Profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce
Food is great, however, make sure to ask questions about the menu. Two in my party ordered the dinner special, which was supposed to be stuffed scallops. For 26 dollars, they each got 3 scallops and a small side salad. Mind you, the scallops were good, but seriously, this should have been advertised as an appetizer, not a main course. Yes, 52 dollars total for SIX scallops. Also, their front door is huge and takes forever to shut, so if you are sitting in the front room, and it's cold outside, you will get blasted with cold air every few minutes. I would rate the food a 5, service 4, but overall not impressed with the scallop thing at all. Especially after calling after the fact to verify we were charged for the right thing, just seemed so odd. And yes, their answer was the full meal was supposed to be 3 scallops. We though that it must have been an accident, that they served us the appetizer instead of the meal. Nope.
French restaurant. Dim lighting. Great for couples!
Delicious food, elegantly present in a lovely setting.
We found the Cafe 1912 online. We are from out of town for the weekend and wanted brunch. We were told the staff could not accommodate us. The group ahead of us did not have a reservation and were seated immediately. We did not have a reservation and could not be seated. So, do NOT attempt to eat at this establishment without a reservation!
unique place.. good food.
Great food, every time. Love this restaurant!
I checked to see w 6th en they closed and it said 9:30. Got there before 9:00 and was told they were closed
Cafe 1912 is without a doubt my go to place for a relaxing dinner with friends. Consistently great food and great service.
Great food
Wonderful experience. I really enjoyed the crispy chicken stuffed with ham & cheese!
A-mazing! We found this place as a fluke and could not be more impressed or happy. Tyler, bartender par excellence, was also our waiter. Mixed our drinks to perfection all while recommending some truly amazing dishes. I had the pork medallions while my husband had the scallops. We started with the calamari, and ended with the profiteroles. I will say, that while it seems like I'm gushing about how incredible our meal was, I am not even beginning to do it justice. We will be back and look forward to it with immense pleasure. Thank you also to the lovely waitress who sat us when we came in. You were a joy to speak with. Also, the truckers say hi.
Delicious food. The crepes are amazing. Justin and Tyler are so sweet and take good care of diners.
Great little place, ramen bowl was terrific. Staff were all super nice.
Unpretentious fine dining, we loved it!
Broshanks, I can break down and cry, you know, like little girl in a pink dress, when I start get my nostalgia on about all the fool times we done had at the Twelve. I do cry over the burger. I do cry over the friends. It's like life done take a curve now that these times has had their moment. Renaissance, baby! Let the good times roll again!
Mussels are the best!!!
Great food, superb service, and a wonderful ambiance. Regular menu items are consistently well executed, and the specials are both inventive and beautifully done. Go often; you'll be glad you did.
Really great bartender/server. Everyone was clearly invested in the restaurant and atmosphere. Pretty expensive and not really my style though.
Wonderful date night experience!! Fabulous food and ambience!!!!
Not French food, menu was changed and noone told to ramen noodle restaurant and u share tables, small bottle drinks or communal water.
