As of day this firm receives a rating of 4.3 stars out of 5 and the score has been based on 922 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is really positive, and it is founded on a high number of opinions, so we can think that the rating is very faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Chicken restaurant.
So the sides were typical sides. The desserts were also pretty standard. The chicken is what you need to come for. The fried chicken is tasty and crunchy but a little greasy. The BBQ chicken was also crunchy with a delicious sauce. The over the coals chicken was absolutely breathtaking. You bite into the crunchy, seasoned chicken and immediately taste the smokiness of the coals and the seasoning. The smell only intensifies the taste. I would definitely recommend it.
This place never disappoints and portions are very big. Had an Incident with the ketchup exploding from pressure when I tried opening it. Amber was supper nice and got me a whole new plate. She was very sweet and polite. I never do reviews, but Amber deserved to get one !
Love AQ! Always take family any time they visit.
Nice room to have our class reunion in. We enjoyed it so much.
Very good restaurant with a spaghetti Western feel. Good portions at good prices.
Great meeting place. Love their chicken livers.
A fun place to eat. Full of Presidential history. The chicken is excellent. Get the sampler if you are having a hard time picking!
Always love coming here and our waitress Michelle was AWESOME!!!
Great food big selection, maybe too big so much good food to choose from
Best country cooking I have had in a long time. Chicken fried steak.
The one place to go where you get real amazing meals at such a great price. I've tried the blue pate specials as well as the regular plates and not one time have I left disappointed. (Stuffed, but not disappointed!)
The older short haired hottest was rude and acted like she wanted to be anywhere else but here
Great food and good service.
Amazing food! Blew my mind. I was expecting it to be greasy and gross from the building, but this place was a treasure.
Chicken flavored and grilled like I've never had before! Creamy Spinach and Fried Okra for sides made this "All you can eat" a great meal. They had so much to choose from, i definitely will return! The service and atmosphere made it even more enjoyable. Definitely give this place a try, you won't regret it!
Odor vs Aroma, but that could be the catfish, which I dislike. I did not enjoy my meal.
Food isn't quite as good as it used to be, but was still good. Great staff.
After 30 plus years of eating at A&Q, I think today was our last. We have enjoyed the food on our trips from Ok to MO yearly. Today on entering the restaurant we were met with a musty moldy smell in foyer. The section we sat in was dimly lit and carpet was worn and dingy. Server was very pleasant. Food has lost its original appeal. The changes the restaurant has made over the years are not in best interest of customers. Seams as though short cuts are being taken. PS...might want to call Restaurant Impossible with Robert Irvine. Nehrings
Great food. Friendly service. Enough space for little wild ones to eat and be without bothering others.
Amazing food. Warm and welcoming environment. Their chicken is awesome. Great staff.
We were a group of 6 and only one person from our group was happy with their food. Very disappointing. As a waitress if your customers aren't eating the food you might ask whats wrong. I hope it was an off day.
Good, southern food. Clean place to eat, always an abundance of food whatever you decide to order. Bang for your cluck...err, buck!
Good variety of meals, free rolls, some items a bit pricey!
The restaurant is a bit dated as for decor. The people are friendly and the food is very good.
Great food. Historical site for the city of Springdale. Famous for its southern fried chicken. Visited by many famous people of the years. President Clinton included. Never eaten anything i didnt like.
Wonderful fried chicken and other meats and BBQ. This is a place I have visited when in Sprindale for over 40 years and it's still a great dining experience. I go out of my way when near there to stop. Took my grandson there and he loved the "chicken fingers." Try the stewed apples with your meal. They are delicious and a great compliment... fewer calories than mashed 'taters and gravy. I think they are great
Really good food with friendly staff! Been around since 1947.
Excellent food and outstanding service
Love the over the coals chicken. Fantastic.
Excellent food, I'll be coming back
Friday at about 5:15. Not yet busy, in fact while we were waiting for our food we turned around and there was nobody else in the place. I ordered chicken fingers, wife ordered a 2-piece fried chicken. Took at least 15 minutes but I want to say closer to 20. Should not take that long to cook chicken when you're not that busy. As for the taste, OMG! French fries did not taste like potatoes, chicken tenders did not taste like chicken! Went to the cashier to pay, did not ask how things were. Did not thank you when we finished paying. Will not return.
Always a wonderful experience here! The Coal Fired Chicken is my FAVORITE!
Just had lunch there . Must have a new cook. I am actually feeling sick. Couldn't eat 1/3 of my fish lunch. It'S been great in the past but no longer. Will not be going back.
The fried chicken was fresh cooked and hot with huge hot rolls and served by a friendly staff!
Friendly service with good southern cookin'. Love the fried chicken and spaghetti.
Food not that good wait staff seem to be lost
This was some of the best food I have had in a really long time! Everything was prepared fresh as ordered and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Nice waitstaff, food was very good, and didnt require second mortgage to pay out
amazing food and service
Thanks Sue for recommending this place. The Best Fried, Grilled and BBQ Chicken I have ever tasted. The seasoning was awesome. Definitely recommend this to everyone.
The orignal carpet, out dated design, and old music... make this place unforgettable. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is phenomenal. Sure the design is "out dated" but i wouldn't change anything about this place. A truly down home, back at grandma's house vibe.
This is probably my favorite restaurant in the U.S.! I visit every time I'm in NW Arkansas to get my southern food fix. Chicken over-the-coals, pickle-o's, livers, and cold beer. Doesn't get any better!
Excellent service. The go to traditional order is three piece pan fried chicken. Great deal, great meal!
My friend had memories of his family making the road trip from Tulsa to pick up Rolls from this place. So we stopped and picked up 2 dozen and they were absolutely fantastic! Thank You!
We stopped in for lunch on New Years Eve and it was WONDERFUL! I had the BBQ chicken breast special and my husband got a half order of spaghetti. The server was sweet and very capable. She brought us some fresh warm yeast rolls to get us started. We had barely eaten one roll when our plates were at our table. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted like going home to Mom's for dinner. The prices were very affordable and it was well worth the money. Go and enjoy a great down home dining experience.
The food is the only reason it is getting 2 stars, one of our longtime favorites and sadly we will never go back. We decided to get dinner for everyone today and it was a pretty good size order and they have made mistakes in the past so we checked our food and they had left off a order,I don't understand how when she read the order back but,it happens so no big deal and we sent 3 dinners back because 1 had 6 fries and 2 had 7 fries and for the price it should of been a little more. Not a big deal they have always fixed any problem but today it turned into a free for all. The woman manager even made fun of me saying she was scared I would throw something at her,now there is 2 things wrong with this for 1.I have never thrown anything at anyone and 2. I didn't go in I was sitting in our car because I had been sick. Why was I even a factor in anything. It was crazy, not sure what the problem was but we will never go back. I made several reviews this weekend all good even called one in person to say what exceptional help they had and then end like this, its sad
This place is a little piece of heaven. Between the food and the waitresses you couldn't ask for better. My sister had the chicken parmesan. Cooked to perfection. I had the chicken sampler. The three different types of chicken were delicious. We started our meal with the appetizer sampler. Fried mushrooms and fried pickles and onion rings. We opted out of the onion rings and got extra of the others. Our waitress was the best! Her name is Michelle W. If you can get in her section I suggest you do. She was there to keep our drinks full and to make sure we had everything we needed. Good food good prices great waitress what more can you ask for?
Execellent Food and Service
Always good
Food and service were both excellent
A staple in Springdale, this place is dated but quaint. Service is good. Food is inconsistent but usually good the last few times we have eaten there. Catfish over the coals is my delicious go to!
We enjoyed our chicken fix at AQ Chicken in Springdale today. Fried chicken mashed taters wirh cream gravy and green beans-yummy! Our server was a joy - she was defiantly "old school" and the best part was she chased us down to return my husband's phone which he left on our table! We will be back.
Good food and service
Love it! Try the sampler platter if you cant decide.
Out favorite chicken place.
May 11,2019 AQ’s was the only place available after U of A Fayetteville Graduation everything else was packed and had been booked since last year. Was that a sign!?
Our server was less than "engaged" with us as customers. We ordered two chicken sandwiches, and the chicken fried chicken. The chicken sandwiches, the Redbird and Blackbird, were delicious. The chicken fried steak was greasy and the gravy was bland.
My husband and I love AQ Chicken!! We try and go when Diana can be our waitress. All of the staff is friendly and the chicken is so tender. Chicken over the coals is our favorite. Never have been disappointed.
Fantastic! You can't find better fried chicken anywhere around here. Especially the over-the-coals style! Good service, amazing rolls, fair prices, clean. And part of NWA history!
I expected more for hype it gets
Great food! And a very sweet man we did not know paid for our dinner. Thank so very much. God bless!
I got food poisoning from eating here and the food was dry and not appealing at all. Don’t eat here unless you want to be sick for a couple days.
Debated on giving AQ a 3 star, but being that I've only been once I decided on giving them a 4. Maybe I went on a bad day. Drove in from Tulsa having heard of this place from some family members, and having it had been mentioned in Southern Living as the best fried chicken in the south. My experience was far from being the best friend chicken in the south, but the service was great! The chicken tasted like it had been reheated and had been sitting in those stainless steel heating pans with steam water under it. The flavor was there, but the fried chicken was not crisp at all. Now the kids spaghetti... oh my goodness, if your kid is hungry the portion size will not be disappointing - Expect leftovers.
Really nice chicken joint. Food was great and the staff was friendly. I would definitely recommend checking them out if you're in the area.
Excellent food. Quiet and enjoyable.
Not sure how their chicken is winning any awards, it was dry, bland in some dishes and over seasoned in others. The steak was over cooked. The food did not seem not freshly cooked. Their only saving grace may have been the rolls.
This was a staple growing up but I can't say it's kept its quality
Service was great. Big basket of chicken liver was the best I have had in years. And the creamy spinach, best ever. The chicken fried steak was really tender. And the BlackBerry cobbler was like the menu said "to die for". This is our new favorite restaurant!!
Visit there anytime we are in the area. My husband loves the fried pickles. Went for Thanksgiving for the first time. So glad we did. Food was delicious and plentiful. They had traditional Thanksgiving faire and chicken options.
Food was the best. Always was. Friendly staff. Loved this place for years.
Really nice ppl and very clean and they had a kids toy box
I am never disappointed when I eat at AQ. The food is always delicious and everyone who works there are very friendly.
I eat healthily. Not the place for that
Never disappointed when eating here. Great food, friendly waitstaff. Worth the drive to come here for a meal !
Casual. Always good and reasonable. Good service.
We had our son's wedding rehearsal lunch here. Great food and Allison served us so well. Furniture needs to be updated, but great place.
Really good comfort food. I think I overdid it on the fried foods this time, but very good! Never got the dessert that I ordered... Peach cobler
Was very disappointed after reading several positive reviews. Food was very average. Waitress couldn't answer simple questions about what comes with certain menu items. We got chicken fried chicken and it was very rubbery and chewy. Taste was decent, but not sure why is was so tough. Green beans had not a drop of seasoning on them. I ordered boneless white chicken tenderloin and it was nothing more than chicken strips after being told specifically that it wasn't. They were ok but I was expecting something over the top. The decor is very old fashion and country which is fine but it was run down and not very clean. The carpeting was worn, the bathroom doors had a bunch of paint chipped off of them....everything just looked like it had been neglected for a few years. There is NO WAY that is the best chicken in that area. Monte Inn is leaps and bounds better in every way.
Kids eat free Tues and Thurs! That is enough for all five stars! We fed a family of six for $25 before the tip. Left a huge tip, cuz the waitress was wonderful!
Kinda burned, but who minds a little charcoal
Staff is nice. Smells like an old musty house. Food not hot came out to fast like it was in a warmer instead of cooked to order. Not the same experience it was 20 years ago.
Really good friend chicken. Fried okra, mashed potatoes, gravy and rolls-delicious. Fast, courteous and friendly service.
Usually its much better. We probably hit an off day. There was what seemed to be a lack of seasoning. The service was excellent. The price was right.
What can I say? If you haven't had AQ, you haven't had the best chicken around! They offer a plate that is grilled and then fried... It's AMAZING! I highly recommend this place for chicken!
This is my second favorite catfish place and move up to first since Catfish N closed in Dardanelle AR. This is a good location and the folks are always friendly and provide good service. The Catfish is hot and fresh and the use lemon pepper season. Always good
Excellent service. The food was delicious and large portions. Best fried chicken I have ordered in any restaurant. Highly recommend for a delicious meal.
My mom loves it, me not so much.
Excellent service, tasty food, ugly furniture ans fixtures
Great food. Perhaps the best fried chicken I have ever had! Nice atmosphere, Lots of cool pictures. Definitely worthwhile.
Service was decent this visit, it's usually good. Food is always pretty good. Need to try for a down home cooked meal.
I wish I lived closer so I could frequent here more often!
Very good.
Been coming for several years. Their over the coals chicken and the chicken and dumplings are enough for me to travel from Tulsa, Ok to get some!
Ordered the chicken livers mashed potatoes and corn on cob. Corn was soggy livers were dry and over cooked. Mashed potatoes very dry. Wife ordered bbq chicken. It was not hot. Bad experience
Their Lemon pepper fried chicken is the best fried chicken I've ever had.
Best chicken around.
Arkansas classic. Good food and one of the only places that serves fried liver in the area. Has a guest book to sign and a map of all the people who have visited from around the world. Staff is kind and informative. Actually a very large place. Has rooms to hold functions. Even has a toy box for the kiddos.
Best little chicken house in Arkansas! Or anywhere else.
Seriously good cooking. Best catfish I know of. You won't starve on their side dishes either. This is the place I take my family when they come to town. Clean, great service, family friendly... And the best catfish I've ever found.
The best chichen ever
Original fried chicken is amazing.
Our family has dined here many times over the past few years as we pass through this area from Oklahoma. This year we made special arrangements to eat at AQ Chicken on Easter Sunday. We went after the noon rush, about 3 p.m. We were seated right away with our menus. Our family ordered our food and by the time we washed our hands the food was on our table. Unfortunately two of the three orders were not what we ordered. The Waitress said she made a mistake and took it back to the kitchen. A short time later she brought the food out and one of the two meals was still not what my wife order. That was also corrected and we said a prayer and proceeded to eat our lunch. While we were eating the table next to us with some church guests sat down to order their food. When their food arrived we heard several people saying they didn't get the sides they ordered either. At the end of our mesu my our family sat and talked about our dining experience this Easter Sunday and we all agreed that number one, it wasn't the good service we've received in the past years at this restaurant and number two, the food was not very tasty, it was not very good. We were very disappointed and are reconsidering if we will make a special effort to come here again. This dining experience was a sour note on what what started off as a great day!
The food isn't as good as it used to be. This is my third time in the last few years. I think the nostalgia plays a big part in why people keep coming back.
My familly and I are from Joplin and we make the one and a half hour drive to AQ at least once a year. It has never let us down. The best chicken out there in my opinion. Ask for the preserves with your rolls. Five stars.
My first time was a good memory from 1971. Each time since has been great! They also serve our community in many kind ways. Love AQ!
Really great food. The over the coals and BBQ chicken are my favorites!
A Q is a NWA icon food and atmosphere are the best a must try
Best chicken ever! Always enjoy eating here and love there Over the Coals chicken.
Excilent sevice & the dinner was Amazing!! Would highly recommend going here & we will most definitely return in the future
The best chicken around
Enjoyed our evening of family dining everything was great as always!! Dissapointed that I was too full for dessert!!
Very pleasant people. Excellent and food..try the sweet potato casserole ..yum. if you are near Springdale, Rogers, or Fayetteville AR, you must check it out !!!
Nice old timely atmosphere. Take potential customers there.
Upset they got rid of the big chicken !!
Very friendly staff had me a catfish crave and wasn't at all disappointed
Good food reasonable prices
Very disappointed in the quality of the Fried Chicken. Read the reviews and was sorely disappointed. Chicken was overcooked and greasy. Don't know how they can call it barbecued because it's deep fried and then put on the grill to heat up and make grill marks. Nice atmosphere but the food is greasy and tastes very heavy..
AQ Chicken House is well known and loved in northwest Arkansas for good reasons. On our recent visit, we enjoyed their "chicken over the coals". It was delicious; served hot and fresh.
Over the coals! Seriously, the rolls! Everything I have had here is tremendous. If I am driving thru or to the area this is a must stop. Over the coals chicken....the most amazing fried chicken I have ever had! Yes....ever! The sides are plenty and the portions are just right! The kids menus and daily specials are great as well!
I've eaten here since I was a kid. The food is amazing, service is below average. Last time I ate there was a couple years ago. We ordered to go and decided to eat there when we arrived. Don't ever try to eat your take out at the restaurant. The treated us like homeless people. Haven't been back.
Can't complain about anything from the appetizer to the chicken to the sides. However, if u aren't fond of pepper, maybe not your place. Just right amount for me!
I am not much on chicken but wow very good place to eat....... Livers r the bomb and Sunday beer
This place was.recomended by someone who had lived in Fayetteville. Was not impressed, grilled catfish was ok, ribs were over cooked.
Growing up in NWA AQ was a rare treat on Sunday after church. Now i have my own kids and wanted to introduce them to AQ. Bought the Christmas dinner they offered, even added a ham. Got it home to find out the stuffing was sour, green beans were sour, smoked turkey barely had any smoked flavor. Complete waste of $160. Extremely disappointed that AQ isn't the AQ i grew up eating.
Great chicken house! Friday they serve all you can eat fried fish. Also amazing!
Great staple of NWA.
Nice chicken livers and mushrooms as appetizer. Took the smaller chicken fried steak which was very tender. Fried apples were great. Ask for the strawberry jam to go with rolls! Pregnant waitress was tired but held up. Hit this place every couple months.
If you like you some fried chicken like I like me some fried chicken then this place ain't bad for the area. Got some tasty biscuits too.
This place used to be great, it's barely edible now. The nostalgic feeling is all they have going for them. The waitress was rude, acted like we were a bother, rolls were obviously left over since they had just opened but the rolls were cold, the catfish was inedible, and the sides tasted old and watery. I hate to rate this place so low. It really used to be great. Sad.
Chicken over the Coals, mac n cheese & cinnamon apples were so good. And the fried mushrooms with ranch dressing that they make there is an awesome start! Our waitress, Diane, was so sweet and kind. Very attentive and considerate. She added a comfort and family like feeling to the visit. Can't wait to go back!
Corn on the cob ok, but the chicken was disappointing! The BBQ, is batter fried chicken heated up and then saturated with BBQ sauce. Anybody could outperform this effort on their backyard grill. If you entered this in a bbq competition, you’d get laughed out of the place. The “Over The Coals” selection was the same way. Sad! A few years ago, this was the best chicken in the region!! What happened!?
Started with a 10 minute wait before i got greeted. Advertised as biggest chicken fried steak. No where near big. $10.50 For the smallest portion of veggies, small ramekin, like warm veggies. So disappointed, I'm from Texas working here, this was recommended. Will not waste my money on this dish. Taste was a 6.5 out of 10.
Grew up in nw arkansas. Why did i never go here until 34? I'm dumb.
Very disappointed. Chicken fried steak was good but fried chicken was dry & didn't taste fresh cooked.
Quality of food has went down prices have went up
Worst place ive ever eaten. The convenient stores have better chicken then they do-their sides are from a can and the Chicken Fried Steak was definitely frozen from a bag. The only thing good was the rolls. It was an utter disappointment.
Holy moly, you get a lot of food that tastes great for a darn good price. $8 for a Lb. of chicken and a Lb. of fries. Does it get any better than this?
Gone downhill significantly from its historical glory.
I normally have good service at the restaurant. When I called the woman who spoke to me was not friendly or willing to help.
Great food, service off today
Iconic restaurant with great food at very reasonable prices. Great atmosphere.
The food was great, second time we have gone in two weeks and both times it was excellent. The onion rings are to die for, pretty much enough there for a whole meal (we take half home for later). The chicken is great. The bread doesn't come close to like a Colton's or Logan's but we didn't come for the bread. The service has been excellent. Inside is outdated, but that is what kind of makes the place to being with so don't expect new/fancy tables, etc.
Veru good chicken and the wait is short!
Great chicken and sides. Good prices great service
Awesome good chicken
A fantastic childhood memory. Food was good. Staff was so very friendly. And the rolls. Let me tell you about the rolls. I remember my grandparents driving from Tulsa to Springdale just to get a dozen rolls for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. So wonderful. Warm and soft with a little butter and honey. OMG. Such a great memory or a great place to creat a new one.
This place has been here forever. I live in Oklahoma but have eaten here many times over the years. They start you out with fresh homemade rolls and butter and honey. Then you order the chicken. As if their cast iron skillet fried chicken wasn't already the best they also have an option where they grill the fried chicken over hot coals for another layer of flavor. The only negative I can mention is that they have cut a couple of corners over the years like butter blend instead of pure butter and some of the sides are canned vegetables instead of fresh.
Nice chicken platter.
A place that's been a part of NWA for decades. Excellent chicken. We like their southern catfish. Rolls are great. Definitely recommend!
Awesome chicken over coals. This was our 1st time we've had the chicken over coals. Wonderful.
Server never smiled so serious just could tell she was over it! No mayonnaise for my sandwich fries were cold! Asked for a high chair 3 times! She brought boxes before we even asked rushes check to us and never comes back!
Rolls delivered first that were warm and tasty. Then came the chicken. Wow! The breading us light and crispy, the green beans perfectly seasoned, the mashed potatoes had the skins and chunks. It was worth the extra drive from Missouri.
It was our first time eating here. The food was amazing. I had the chicken fried chicken. We had unlimited rolls with butter and honey. The appetizer we had was the mushrooms. It was a very large order for 4.99. We will be coming back and eating here again.
This place is awesome. Been coming here for 40 years and have never had bad service or food. If your anywhere close at all this place is a must.
Delicious food and a super nice waitress. Barbara made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal! We got the chicken fried steak and over the coals chicken!
The staff was wonderful and the atmosphere perfect, as always. The chicken tenderloins I had we're very juicy but the breading on them needed to be much crunchier. That is the only reason I'm not giving my visit five stars. The rest of the meal was perfect. I would highly recommend this wonderful iconic restaurant for family meals or group gatherings.
Great food at reasonable prices. Wait staff were very knowledgeable and very attentive.
This place is not to be missed. It better be your "cheat day"!
