We take our family ranging from a 7 year old to 70 year olds to Salut at least once a month. Kona is always a fantastic server and the food never disappoints. I love the specials and hope to see some of the new items permanently on the menu. The butternut squash ravioli and the grilled cheese with a fried egg and avocado are divine. Throw in some chateau le paws wine (donation to animals is a plus) and take a pic of your pet for the dog wall...I love this place.

Amazing food and environment, and very friendly staff. Only complaint is the abhorrent wait times after being seated. We come for late brunch on the weekends, and its great, but we often find ourselves waiting 15 mins before even getting our drinks and placing an order, and then waiting 30 minutes after finishing for the check.

I had the fish tacos and they were pretty gross. The fish tasted frozen and it was way too expensive for what you got. We only went here because we had a coupon. Would not recommend.

Well they don’t do bottomless mimosas on the weekend for brunch. It’s $3 a glass. The food is okay, nothing to really want to come here. Also wait time is awful. We’ve been waiting for the waitress to pick up the tab for about 15 minutes. There are only four other tables filled with people. When she brings your mimosa refill you might as well ask for another one so it’s there by the time you finish the first. Overall not work the time or money anymore.

This was a really nice bar/restaurant. The service was excellent. The interior is a comfortable contemporary. At least half of the seating is on the patio, which is quite nice. They had 10 or so beers on tap. They also had a healthy assortment of whiskeys and wines. The burger I had was one of the best I’ve tasted, and was cooked perfectly. If my travels bring me back to Tempe, I will certainly go back

I would give 5 stars for the food but the service I received deserves 0... our waitress was horrible. As we were finishing our meal our waitress told us that she really wanted to go home due being tired and was going to close us out. I understand that working in the service industry is hard and figured she would have someone else checking up on us, closed out and left a nice tip. We sat for another HOUR waiting for our “bottomless mimosas” to be refilled as our “tired” waitress sat at the bar drinking Rosé. No one ever came back to the table. I will never go to Salut again.

Food is delicious. The hummus stuffed avocado was bigger and more of a salad than I was expecting which was great! The hummus nachos on the other hand were much smaller. You get 4 triangle pieces of pita with little blobs of hummus on them. Not the pile I imagine when I think of nachos. Only downfall was they only have angry orchard for cider but in Tempe it can be hard to find good ciders.

Love the hummus nachos! Nice small comfy dining place, eating outdoors is lovely. We met the owner. quite friendly, humble and caring about what he serves. Great place for an office lunch or dinner or for any occasion. One if my favs. Breakfast served also. Great sangria, delicious food.

From scratch kitchen "almost" says it all - Then add on their terrific front of house staff and you have a 5-star no frills restaurant. Hmmm, they also have a really nice (affordable) wine selection & full-service bar too!

This was a nice experience. Food was familiar yet, new. I like the fusion elements on the menu. The are definitely catering to the bar crowd with the gimmicky happy hour specials and half price bottles of this and that. Yet they back it up with a killer menu. The only thing that didn't sit well with me was the service. A few times over the course of my meal, I had to flag down a server to refill drinks at my table. On top of that my party was the only table in the restaurant, and there were 5 servers and none took notice on our table. They went about their business and counted out cash drawers on the bar, and talked shop. All the while me and my family sat with empty cups. The food was good enough to come back. When I do, I will hope for better service.

Delightful staff, but not worth the calories or money. Basically a tired bar trying to disguise itself as a spot for creative fare. $80 for dinner for 2 - no alcohol. We walked away thinking, “that was weird...what just happened?” The bruschetta board was ample and tasty, and could have made a light dinner, but the sweet and savory combo was overdone. Entrees were a bust. Worth a shot, but doesn’t deserve the ratings if you are at all discerning.

Chicken Cobb salad was quite tasty! Well prepared and presentation was very appealing. But service was slow! Took forever for our waitress to visit our table. The restaurant was not busy at all so really no reason for her to be so inattentive. Manager served us our food and he was really nice, but we only saw him that one time. Drinks (vodka club soda) were small and overpriced.

Great ambiance, service, wine selection and food. Started with the bruschetta; the wild mushroom and apple were my favorite, my friend were the shiracha and the fig. A symphony of flavors harmonically mastered. I had the pistacho crusted salmon, cooked perfectly and with a flavorful crust. My friend the habanero vodka bolognese. Incredible. Best dinner in our trip! Worth every penny

I recently ordered a bigger takeout order from Salut Kitchen Bar for a dinner that hosted as my house for a few friends. We ordered a couple pastas (the Butternut Squash Ravioli was amazing), a couple salads and the Hummus Appetizer. Everyone devoured everything. Truly excellent!

I came here for lunch and it must have been an off day, we were the only people but I ordered a salad and wait staff was happy to switch couple options for me. The food was delicious and was presented in a very pretty and modern bowl. Food came out fast and wait staff was on it! I would definitely return.

They need someone to help them with pricing. You can order a typical domestic beer in for about the same price as a craft IPA. Also the food is a tad overpriced. If they get this under control, this place would pack in more people.

starting with the bad. love salute other than unfortunately they are scamming their customers. the receipt is hard to see but the total of my bill was $58.27. their suggested gratuity rate percentage is wrong and they are overcharging their customers hoping they wont notice. i can do math and this is not okay that they are doing this. so my bill was $58.27 as you can see their calculations are incorrect 18% = $11.70 (correct calculation is $10.49) 20% = $13.00 (correct calculation is $11.65) 22% = $14.30 (correct calculation is $12.82 ) so this sucks they are not truthful and trying to scam customers. however i do love this place and love the food and brunch here. hangover frys are the best ever! the staff is amazing we had the best server ever! never had a bad time. just please do your own math. I hope they can fix this going forward.

We got what we ordered. Nothing special. Location is super odd across from some industrial facility (see pic). My omelette and her chicken pita were exactly what you’d expect when you mix together the ingredients on the menu. Bland. Not much seasoning. Our food also sat in the warmer for a while, as evidenced by the coagulated dried gravy on my hangover fries and her dried out chicken and my dry omelette. There are better options in PHX. Snooze comes to mind.

Pretty cool place, enjoyed the atmosphere. Lots of seating that's semi-outdoor which is nice. I would say that the drink prices are pretty high though. Parking can be tough and it's really not in a great location. Food was decent but also overpriced. Definitely draws a younger crowd from ASU and I think they're basically charging higher prices because they have a somewhat captive student demographic. Plenty of other places in the valley offering similar menus at the same quality for less.

I made a reservation for a group, and we were placed in a dark corner of the restaurant. Then, the service was really slow. One of my friends was told she could not order off the lunch menu at 1:30 p.m. because they were too busy and instead had to order off the brunch menu since it was before 2 p.m. My friends liked their non-vegetarian dishes but were not satisfied with the serving size for the price. The french fries were also very delicious. I am a vegan and ordered a vegan hummus platter. When I received my dish, it had feta cheese on it which another waiter kindly replaced with a dish without cheese. I asked why I hadn't received pita bread with my dish and a waiter told me it was not vegan and had been replaced with cucumbers. I was surprised because usually pita bread is vegan, and I should have been told it wouldn't be included before serving. Then, when I received the bill, I found out I had been charged an extra dollar for replacing my pita bread with cucumbers. Overall, the dish was not pleasant because it was simply cucumbers with hummus, and cucumbers and pickled vegetables on the side for a total of $12. It was simply not worth the money nor the time. At the end of the meal, I was still hungry. The restaurant should alter their pita bread recipe to allow it to be made vegan, not charge extra money for a substitution rather than an addition to the dish, and should inform their customers before making any changes to the dish and price as I would have ordered something different had I known.

Stop in & visit Chief the bartender, he's a great mixologist & fun to talk to. The fact that they have a great wine selection & 1/2 off bottles is a bonus. Unique menu & everything I've tried is delicious. Only thing I'm not crazy about is on Sat./ Sun. They only use their brunch menu till 3pm & not enough to choose from, so go dury the week. They have a great patio with misters though.

OMG, Salut is seriously the best place to eat and they are super friendly. We have eaten here before several times but haven't recently due to a diet we have been starting and I needed some lemon for a salad I had in which another restaurant had forgotten. I called and asked if they could sell me some lemon slices and the guy actually walked over to our business to give us free lemon slices and to make sure it was enough. They hire friendly and caring staff. I was checking out a customer so I couldn't get to them but they brought the lemons to me. I wanted to write this review to show people that this restaurant is awesome, delicious food every time we eat there and have awesome employees. If you aren't top notch and caring, do no bother applying there because they want people who LOVE their job each and every day. They have employees who love what they do and always have a smile on their faces. Great place, oh and they have a dog friendly patio in which is super clean and I have taken our dogs a few times in the past. Great place to eat and be in a fun environment.

This is a great place to go for brunch with friends. Their chorizo gravy is delicious and fantastic on their hangover fries. Also enjoy a bloody mary with bacon and just tried their breakfast pita last time I went. Will be ordering that again. The pita was so light and fluffy, yum!

While the food, the atmosphere, and the wait staff are great; the management is poorly represented. We went during happy hour, advertised very clearly (see picture), and were told those hours were changed...right at this moment...even though these signs were at the table. The waiter was very helpful and made sure we were informed prior to ordering but management’s response to the matter was poor. We still paid the full price and he said he should take the sign down next time. This place has potential, but not with the current management.

I tried Salut the first time a week ago for Sunday brunch. We sat on the patio which was very nice but occasionally noise from University Dr made it hard to hear. The food was very good but portions were just a bit small. We did enjoy mimosas and blueberry beer-mosas which were quite refreshing. Our service.lagged a bit for the amount of customers...but over all very good. I will definitely return.

Fantastic place for brunch! It is a little place tucked away and not on a main street where people bar hop but it is extremely great in terms of food, service and drinks. I have gone twice, once when it was slower and service was great, and another when it was a little more busy and service was not the best. Overall it is an excellent place to grab a bite and have some laughs with friends. Atmosphere is diverse thus you'll find a mix of local people enjoying food, booze, and fun! This is definitely a locals place so if you're visiting town and grab a table you are truly getting a true taste of Tempe!

Stopped in for lunch on a Thursday. It was not crowded but I didn't expect it to be. The service was excellent and the food was better. I had the Malbec burger which was cooked to perfection and amazing. The beef was of high quality and the fries were unique, crispy and fresh.

Amazing restaurant with impeccable service (Kyle is fantastic and so attentive). The pistachio crusted, wild caught salmon is perfectly cooked, and the truffle fries are so delicious and unique. Happy Hour (until 6:30 M-F) is an excellent value. Plus and best of all, dog friendly outdoor patio. This is fast becoming a local favorite, and I’d highly recommend to others.

An ok spot for a quick bite. I came here for appetizers with a group and we chose the outdoor seating. Since it was summer, they had the misters on, but the unfortunate part was the misters would blow right on you, and it would get your clothes wet. The table got pretty wet as well. However, the service made up for it. The hostess did a great job greeting everyone and the food came out relatively fast. The server also came back a few times to make sure we had enough soda/water- keeping us hydrated on a hot Arizona night ;).

I love their fries, the hummus nachos are probably the best thing on the menu in my opinion and I thoroughly enjoy the bacon grilled cheese. I also love their cocktail options. Server told us about her other serving jobs, took our order, brought us food and drink, ran past once asking if everything was okay, and disappeared until it was time to pay. It was odd. My cucumber mule clogged the straw and the amount of ice made it challenging to drink; what I had was good but the recipe needs modification. Food was good as always. We would have likely ordered another drink after dinner but the waitress was MIA for most of the meal so we settled up and left. Not returning anytime soon.

I ordered the skillet for brunch, which came with potatoes, mushrooms, an egg and was topped with onions, spinach, peppers and tomatoes. Everything was good and certainly good quality. However, I can’t say that it was anything special that would be worth 5 stars, especially considering its small portion. Took them forever to find a server for us. The actual server was great though. I tried the main dishes which ended being disgusting cold renditions of fancy toast, which really looked and tasted like cheap white bread. I also had the Salmon and Pilaf which was also was terrible in flavor and tasted old. Even the drinks were disappointing. Please save your money and go elsewhere!

Went for brunch about a month ago and their happy hour a week ago. Great brunch food... their hangover fries are killer. Amazing spicey bloody mary with a strip of bacon in it. They have a great assortment of happy hour food and a good wine selection too. Love their patio seating.

Had to sit at bar because the only table they had we couldn't even squeeze into the spot. They didn't have any ginger beer, even though their menu listed several mules. That was a rough start, but after we figured out our drinks and meals, they tasted great.

So... for starters we went here at 1pm, so naturally they weren't busy. Our waitress addressed us quickly, but since we needed more time to look over the menu, she left. We didnt see her again for about 10-15 minutes. After she came back, we ordered drinks first and then our food. To our surprise, the food came first. The food was good, but not worth the price. Very small portions, which is good if you're looking for that. On another note, we never saw our drinks or waitress again until after we paid the tab. Would NOT recommend, which sucks because the menu looks good and so do the drinks!!! Go to four peaks one block down... much better service.

Waited 30 minutes to get our drink order. When the drinks came we ordered appetizers, after another 30 minutes we hadn't received them. When we told the manager we were leaving due to how slow the service was his only response was "ok."

Burger was good. Wine prices were impressive. I went alone and when ordering wine was asked “glass or bottle?”. I gotta enjoy a place like that! Good pricing on the whiskeys.

Service was great. The portion I had was not enough for the appetite I came with so make sure you order appetizers and even a salad. The pistachio salmon was amazing!!!

1st time customer, last time customer. I ordered the Mediterranean Tacos being most popular and having never been here. First 13.50 for 3 extremely small tacos. Second this food is absolutely disgusting. Everything tastes like it’s soaked in lime juice to cover up how nasty the tortillas are. Hopefully you are drunk when you eat here. My dog wouldn’t even eat these.

I wasn't impressed with the food, but it's a great place for cocktails. Not a very large selection of food and a bit over priced for what you get. The bruschetta is probably the best thing on menu. The fig one is delicious! If you're a fan of Absinthe this is your bar. A big selection of Absinthe.

Drinks: Mimosas are fairly priced for the size and alcohol to juice ratio is good. Bacon bloody Mary is spiced well, but my lemon and bacon were definitely not from today's prep - a minor detail. Definitely a missed opportunity to introduce more local craft options on tap. Food: Beer chorizo Benedict is smokey, mild spiced, top notch poached eggs and very good presentation. Chicken thigh breading was okay, under seasoned for me personally and the chicken itself wasn't seasoned at all, but overall was a nice cut and portion. Waffle was perfectly done, very good flavoring, would consider offering customers a syrup dispenser as the portion provided is very small. Decor: Definitely needs attention, booths are in disrepair as are a lot of the paint on the walls, really just needs a refresh overall. Would give 3.5 if available and will visit again during happy hour in the future to update rating, hopefully.
