We've got the feddbacks of real people like you who are buying the services and products of Rico\'s American Bar & Grill (Restaurant) in the area close to Arizona.
At this moment the firm has a score of 3.8 out of 5 and that score was based on 291 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is very positive, and it's based on a very high number of opinions, so we can conclude that the valuation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to rate when they are satisfied, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write opinions when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Southwestern restaurant (US).
Phillip, Phillip, Philip ! In a word he made this location an absolutely MARVELOUS experience. His attention to detail 5 star! He kept our glasses filled just as much as our bellies. Best food recommendations. Especially with such an eclectic crowd with many different nutritional needs. His service was impeccable thank you Phillip!
poor service but the wings were good
Expensive! Food was ok, waited a long time for our food.
This was a meticulously run breakfast buffet. The staff was extremely courteous and attentive. Homemade omelottes were available. Our room had breakfast included in our stay. I truly feel that everything was top notch.
I was extremely dissatisfied with my service. Just so you know they will charge a 22% gratuity when i asked why they charged a different amount then my bill iwas told by the manager it's to ensure my credit card is good. I've never been so insulted in all my life food was not worth it
Poor beer selection but they do have cornhole
Absolute terrible service. The manager should be ashamed for his team's performance. They stand around more than taking care of customers. A training wouldn't hurt. The breakfast buffet is overpriced but ok. My recommendation, don't waist your money and time and go somewhere else.
Expensive, but nice view from patio
Breakfast buffet was top notch!
Food was very good!!

We went to Rico's as a backup because the place we had planned to go was closed. We opted for the buffet mainly because of the choices and value. The made to order omelette that we had was actually amazing but the rest of the food in the buffet was average. Granted, it's hard to maintain quality when the potatoes or French toast are in warmers but I was still disappointed. The building, ambience and service were fantastic! I would definitely go again but would probably order off the menu. The buffet did have wonderful fresh fruit and oatmeal, muffin and cereal options.
No idea about the negative reviews but I had an excellent experience. Their bahn sandwich was on point and we received excellent service as well.
Food was a little bland but nothing a little salt and pepper can't fix.
Service was great but the menu definitely excludes people who don't eat meat. Our only option was a lousy salad with quinoa. Definitely not what I want for resort fare. It's 2019, how about offering some more vegetarian and vegan options?
Nice place to get hammered.
The service was okay there were two severs, and one other costumer was there but the food took a while to get to us. I was there with my family and my older brother got food poisoning from chicken, which was rubbery. I do NOT recommend this place!
Service was excellent. Food was average. Like the resort it definitely needs some work. Looks and feels a little dingy.
Enjoyed lunch at this beautiful place. Very nice atmosphere and great food.
We didn't stay. Prices were outrageous.
Came to Ricos with the hilton honors bfast voucher which let us pay $7 per breakfast buffet instead of the outrageous $17.50. Food was a typical hotel continental breakfast that is usually free, with the exception that it had someone to make omelettes for you. The french toast, pancakes, etc was all just meh. Not very warm or soft. Very disappointed. On the plus side, the atmosphere and restaurant itself was very nice. Will not be eating here again.
Food was good. Service was friendly and the vibe is great. The price is why I am only giving it 3 stars. Should have knocked our socks off for the price and it didn't. It was good but not worth the price. But it is super convenient when staying at the resort.
Perfectly seaasoned cut with a fork grilled salmon. Simply he best salmon I've ever had. Beats zinc's Bistro salmon by far. Plate was $25. Great grilled steak as well.
Great Staff especially the omelet guy (yogurt on my eggs)....Thanks for a wonderful atmosphere and great omelet!!!
Good breakfast.
Fairly dull atmosphere, very limited menu and staff that I would describe as disinterested. Save your money and head down the road to Gallaghers. This is another hotel restaurant that doesn't hold up
Food was good but service was atrocious. Extremely slow to bring everything out to the table, something you don't expect when they're really slow on a Saturday night.
Maybe they were having a off day the wait staff was awesome food not that good for the price.
Delicious Mexican food!!
Great staff, great wings, great beer
It's a cute restaurant located on grounds of Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort. The burgers are tasty and cooked as ordered, but side of fries were horrible (refried), as well as quality of wine ($13.50 for a glass of something resembling box wine). Had a Mimosa the following morning, which was good. That was the end of my experience.
The food was very good. Our waiter was great. Unfortunately, due to the weather, their computer was done. But, we had a great time catching up with friends from CA.
Delicious food! I highly recommend Huevos Rancheros for breakfast.
It's my first time here. And our waitress was not very pleased with me and families arrival. She was rude did not catch her name tell me about customer service did not like it at all. I understand if you close at a certain time but at least be happy about getting business. If it was me I would not be rude in anyway I would be please to stay late. More money in pocket.
Nice place cool atmosphere, very friendly. Customer service matters to me. Great little get away. Squaw Peak Resort is a winning combination LOTS of Amenities. Again EVERY EMPLOYEE was an expert in Customer Service. I just hope the employees are well taken care of. They were the BIGGEST REASON for my scheduling another visit Dec. 2017
New menu is killer. Go during happy hour!
Happy hour nachos were 5 stars and so were the tacos. Good prices too
Sadly underwhelming for the high price tag of a resort restaurant. Their food was very basic with minimal flavor but it was clean and the service was great. Hence the two stars. Hopefully they pay attention to their reviews and get some better quality food items to match their prices.
Such a nice place to eat! The outside is very pretty and I loved all of the pretty flowers. When I walked in was greeted with warm smiles. I ordered the original cheeseburger meal with fries and it was delicious and a big portion, my friend ordered the chicken quesadilla and it was also delicious. If you’re looking for a restaurant with good food, great customer service and reasonably priced I highly recommend eating here.
The food was ok but took forever to get there although there was only two other people there... that night we ordered ricos again and the chicken was very rubbery gross and horrible I got ceasar salad and I'm sure it was packaged salad... but the next morning the person who got the chicken threw up and got very sick so I do not recommend it
Great food and service, definitely try the salsa verde wings.
Very enjoyable! Great variety of food. Kids had lot's of Fun.
Very good food ..great service
Food was good . Good selection of local beers. A bit over priced.
Not a good selection on the menu... was really hoping to have a nice dinner with the family I ordered the short ribs which usually I love here was a ton of fat of them and the horseradish potatoes was all horseradish I couldn't even eat them... my husband who loves spicy food and horseradish said that the whole meal was gross he got the steak and said it wasn't any thing special was a super small cut... prices are way to high for low end food. Go some where else even though when you stay and the hotel it's convenient but please go somewhere else
It was ok. Service was good, food was what you'd expect for a hotel restaurant.
All I have had here is the breakfast buffet, but it is great!! Kinda pricey unless you are a Hilton Honors member, but it is a buffet so there is plenty of opportunity to get your money's worth!
Great menu and fun, friendly environment
Best burger ever! Surprised!
Happy hour nachos were 5 stars and so were the tacos. Good prices too
Posting while waiting for the check. Been a while since I've seen our server. Food is good. Awesome ingredients put together adequately. But service is hit and miss. Doesn't feel like I'm at a fancy resort.

Slow service, low quality food. Chocolate ice cream tasted like anything but chocolate. Staff looks unhappy and sometimes pushy. Totally overpriced. Avoid at all cost.
Yummy food. Beautiful atmosphere. Felt spoiled hanging outside with the beautiful lights and music.
Great service!
Not a great place to eat. Food and drink are below average
Great food, nice atmosphere, and wonderful service! It is a bit pricey but that was expected as it sits on a resort campus.
Waited way too long for a table, which should have been our signal to leave, first mistake. $20 buffet was a joke as far as selection, food was burnt and cold. Even if you ordered off the menu (which wasn't any better than the buffet), you still had to refill your own drinks. Would've been better off at McDonald's.
As a Hilton Diamond member we are given vouchers to eat breakfast at this restaurant on the Hilton Squaw Peak Property. We have been on 2 separate trips. The first trip the food was wonderful and the service ok. The last trip the food was ok and the service poor and the restaurant was very very busy with a wait for breakfast. We hope the service improves as we enjoy this option when staying at the Hilton.
Great food, great service from Steven!!Great strawberry jalepeno margarita!!!
The Thanksgiving buffet was expensive and mediocre at best. Very little was homemade.
Loved tgere watermelon blueberry salad we paired it with fish tacos for lunch, very enjoyable.
Yuk! Cisco level C- guac out of a tube. Food out of pouches.
Food was very good. Outside seating relaxing. A bit pricy for a lunch.
Great buffet breakfast.
Breakfast buffet very good but a bit pricy. Service spotty...some waitresses very good but others hard to find. Staff friendly and helpful. Name is now Rico's American Grill.
Such a nice place to eat! The outside is very pretty and I loved all of the pretty flowers. When I walked in was greeted with warm smiles. Very nice bar great drinks
Really awesome service and food. Our server David was amazing with us.
Food was delicious and waitress was the best on top of it all would highly recommend to friends and family
I went to Rico's to watch an NFL game. They had good specials, including food and beverages. The service was excellent!
Good place for breakfast. Smoothies are good and the servers are attentive. Nice selection.
Wasn't terribly impressed with the menu. Decent hotel dining.
I went here on my birthday for lunch with my grandmother by total mistake! Ended up being the best tacos I have ever had. My waiter was friendly and has a great sense of humor. The birthday desert was also amazing! Thank you for brightening up my birthday!
Grace was extremely helpful and gave great service, as well as the rest of the staff! The blueberry pancakes were DELICIOUS! Excellent service.
Good food good service
Located next to the The Point Hilton Resort, this place is a nice restaurant with an attractive interior layout and design. The service was very good (although it wasn't crowded at the time). They even let my friend's daughter in, who was still in her bathing suit as they just exited the pool. The food itself was where I docked the stars... While the presentation was nice, there was a lack of flavor. I didn't hate it, I just wasn't wowed enough to want to visit again. Perhaps on another day it would be better, but both dishes we tried didn't impress (farm burger & Reuben).
Great food great service really nice atmospheri.if you are in the area give it a try.
Service was fine. Menu is uderwhelming and the food is average at best. Paid $8 for chips and salsa that was the worst i have ever had. I could't eat if it was free. Dissapointing
Love Rico's! We go there for dinner every Christmas Eve, at a minimum. They have good artisan-type American food, and we always enjoy ourselves. Jim took great care of us tonight, and we had a great time. Dad said the carrot cake was some of the best he's ever had.
Really good food
hot meal served lukewarm, got sick and now my doctor is checking me for food poisoning.
Awesome flatbread and nachos! The wait staff was super nice too!
Great service with good food. Excellent French toast!
Good
Place needs a remodel in a bad way.
Breakfast was good. Huevos Rancheros with chorizo was really good.
Food was great priest food was a little pricey but you're staying at Hilton
Friendly Service. Kind of dingy atmosphere, there was people at maybe 1 other table when I was there, place seemed dead for a "happy hour" Amazing Onion Rings. Taco's were alright, although they could be seasoned a bit more.
We stayed at the Pointe Squaw Peak over the weekend and went to the breakfast buffet on Sunday...it was really affordable, and the food was great. We were served by Grace, and she couldn't have been nicer. But, I noticed that the hostess seated quite a few families that were a shade or two lighter than us. I also noticed that they were received in a much warmer and more courteous manner. I am never surprised when I experience this type of service...but we paid the same amount for our room as they did. We deserve at least to be served in the same manner.
Excellent food, excellent service
Good atmosphere
Excellent food and service. Interesting menu.
We ordered the $47 rib eye and got a small, pathetic steak. Our food and service was not great.
Friendly Service. Kind of dingy atmosphere, there was people at maybe 1 other table when I was there, place seemed dead for a "happy hour" Amazing Onion Rings. Taco's were alright, although they could be seasoned a bit more.
I pulled in on my bike on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and had a couple of Coronas friendly service from Michele, thank you!
We came over to Rico's for breakfast today while staying at the resort. We first walked into the hostess who didnt know how to seat people in a timley manner. Finally when we were seated we didnt even see a waitress in our area. The manager had to get us drinks she came back with our drinks and said the waitress will be right with us. We both took a sip of our drinks and they were both flat. We looked around for a waitress for 10 mins she finally showed and I told her the drinks were flat and we were leaving. The restraunt is very unorganized and under staffed for a saturday morning breakfast!. For what they want you to pay you would think they would be a little more professional.
Many different food choices, all good.
Good food, ever changing menu. Open to the public though people are unsure because it's on the property of the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak. I love the strawberry jalapeño Margarita!
Better than the other options at the resort but prices are high for average food. Standard hotel fare here.
We stayed at the Pointe Squaw Peak over the weekend and went to the breakfast buffet on Sunday...it was really affordable, and the food was great. The best prime rib I've ever had. Love the breakfast, especially the pancakes. In the words of General MacArthur: "I shall return".
Menu lacks many items. My kids did like the pancakes but the rest of the food was so so. Overpriced for what it is. It was convenient for us since we stayed at Pointe Hilton.
I have no idea where the handful of negative reviews are coming from. The food is great, the service is great, the presentation of food is great. The breakfast buffet was the bomb! This place rocks. Some people I guess aren’t happy unless they are unhappy. Ignore the negative r reviews this place is sweet!, case in point; refer to photo.
The food was decent, but not worth the price. The drinks were overpriced, and the waitress was incredibly impersonal and had the nerve to ask for a tip after leaving my drink empty for 20 strsight minutes.
Tried this place on a whim because we saw an article in New Times about Cinco de Mayo specials. We decided to try their taco buffet and we all left very satisfied. They have both flour and corn tortillas, several meat selections including beef, chicken, fish and carnitas along with every topping you can think of. The staff and servers were very accommodating and great. The decor and atmosphere was lovely and we will visit soon again as there were several items on their regular menu that looked very tasty.
I ordered the BLT. I didn't know you could ruin a BLT. BUT THEY Achieved the task. How can a cook think that BLT be served with the thinest slice of tomato and 1 slice of non crispy lettuce. It was a disgrace. The chef must hate his job ....
Food wasn't special at all, for the high price you would think your getting some good food. Wrong I think I could have got something better from chick Fila or a pita jungle. I would drive sone where else if you have a car
Adequate is how we would best describe this restaurant on the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak resort campus. It was not that they did anything wrong but they did not do anything great. The menu is limited (which can be ok at times) and could be improved, and the service staff was friendly but not expedient. For a late dinner just a short walk from our suite it was satisfactory but I would not go out of my way to return.
Great food and the servers were amazing!
Fine for a hotel restaurant, service is good, food was fine. Nothing special, especially since it is attached to a Hilton.
Very good burger.
The food was awesome...The burger was OMG
Tacos where great. Nice atmosphere.
Good place for a simple burger and a beer.
Food was okay, but the waitress went above and beyond. Stellar service makes all the difference!
Absolutely loved our meals here. We had breakfast every day with fantastic Service, grace is amazing and totally brightened our mornings. We had dinner here and the main reason im writing this is to say how fantastic Andria is, what a total star. We'll be back, thanks for looking after us!
Excellent as always.
Nice place. Worth a visit...or ten!
We met for lunch at Rico's and discovered it is the restaurant mainly of the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort. There were a few medium sized parties of people wearing lanyards advertising their names below the company that was paying for their conference and lunch. We wandered in and discovered it is the theme of the restaurant is the mercury mine that used to be in the neay by Dreamy Draw. A few old B&W photos of the mine scenes. The seating was under a dome of large wood beams and plenty of windows. Our sandwiches were delicious.
I ordered their Salmon entree, and it was actually very good, but we were surprised to see that the size of menu was so small and not much selections...
Had dinner and breakfast here. Great service and good food.
The staff were great and attentive, that said the food was not worth the price and I found it to all be very bland. I had the tacos and they were dry and flavorless . The half chickin was tasteless and didnt carry any flavor as well. If your hungry I'd suggest finding somewhere else to eat.
Fabulous salmon dinner and carrot cake, wow!
Great food, great location, excellent service!
Nice sports bar great pub food great for having a drink and watching the game
No wonder it was dead when we walked in! They have gourmet prices for easy food that should have flavor but doesn't. Dont waste your time or money
The Mango Habenero Wings are a sinfully sweet and spicey mother watering delicious, where as the farmers burger is a taste of heaven. The staff was charming, and attentive, angels. I will be back.
Terrific waiter (David), real good food, nice atmosphere, a little pricey.
Not worth the time or money
Great food for not many options
Buffet was pretty substandard. But edible I suppose. The decor is nice but it's slow and due to hotel affiliation the waiters are slow
Minimal menu and lacking service.
Caesar salad with blackened chicken. Get it. It's delicious! A large chunk of iceberg lettuce, cut, dressing, chicken, croutons! Outdoor and indoor seating. Very nice place to have breakfast/brunch/lunch/etc, on a sunny California day. Great service as well. The turkey burger is also tasty, flavorful, and best complimented with a side of their french fries.
Good food small menu not a lot of choices
No wonder it was dead when we walked in! They have gourmet prices for easy food that should have flavor but doesn't. Dont waste your time or money
I love the wordplay with the name ( Casablanca reference), fresh squeezed o,j., amazing coffee, super delicious food, I had the wild berry pancakes, tried the nutella stuffed brioche French toast, wait staff was courteous, friendly fast. Couldn't find fault with this place if I wanted to. Thank You for a wonderful breakfast!
The half chicken is great, service is not. The hostess was a better waiter than our waiter
Was here for a breakfast buffet compliments of the hotel. Staff was friendly, omelettes were great, food was good. Would go again
Great service and great food.
The Turkey Club and Potstickers salad was awesome.
Horrible experience. Menu is lacking; we ordered a Margarita Pizza and street tacos. Figuring even with a small menu, you can’t mess these up. We should have known being its 6 pm on a Friday night and we were maybe 1 of 5 tables? Place was empty and the food explains it all. It was not good. Not at all. The tacos came out cold and had no flavor. Pizza was nothing other than a cheese pizza with a tomato slice added. No flavor.
Wait times for an empty restaurant, not only to be seated but also place our order....then the hour wait for food that was cooked wrong.
Food was not good at all
Food was ok, but nothing special. Prices are designed to gouge your pockets. For the price I would expect a luxurious breakfast. If you have a car, better options are available.
Awesome food & service!
I do not like writing reviews as everyone should have a 1st time experience which is not tainted. However, paid 13.25 for (4) little measly tacos that did not come with ANYTHING else and 10 for a hotdog with 1/2 basket of fries. NOTHING comes to the table that looks like in their photos. There are great mexican restaurants within a few blocks. Stayed here because we were at the resort. Resort pricing will put this place to the grave. I would not recommend this nor return. spent over $70 for dinner and I was still hungry when I was done but refused to spend another penny there.
The Mango Habenero Wings are a sinfully sweet and spicey mother watering delicious, where as the farmers burger is a taste of heaven. The staff was charming, and attentive, angels. I will be back.
Very good breakfast, had the buffet, eggs were a little Bland
Great food and awesome service thank you Dana
Nice time
The Hilton chain should be ashamed to have Rico's on their premises. The food was mediocre at best (Calamari tasted burnt, wings were scorched on the outside just barely cooked on the inside, Five Cheese Macaroni was a cheese-less joke, etc.!). The service would have been inadequate in a discount flea bag hotel thus utterly unacceptable at a Hilton! Then to add insult to it all, they automatically put on an 18% gatuity which many people don't notice and add a gratuity out of habit! I am hard pressed to give them a single star! NEVER AGAIN!
Friendly
Grace is an amazing waitress and worth eating there just to meet her. Loved her and the food was great, a nice selection of items to choose from.
A bit pricy for an average breakfast. Also on weekends long wait. Only one restaurant for the resort??
Food was not fresh, seemed like it was frozen or packaged. Soup wasn't terrible but the rest was not appetizing. Server was very nice though
Fast and friendly service.
Best omelette I've had at a Hilton and maybe outside of Hilton. The egg chef cares about his cooking and it clearly showed.
The service was slow. Painstakingly slow. There was two other tables in the entire restaurant and our waiter moved with little to no purpose. It's difficult to see how this place could handle a full rush with how long just an appetizer and a burger took them to get when it was so dead.
Great breakfast buffet with quality food. They have a great made-to-order omelette bar where you can get something fresh. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
Really cool atmosphere!
the food here SLAPS
Good service and nice southwestern atmosphere. Limited food selections. Ordered a medium burger, which was charred on the outside, and medium well on the inside. Nothing to rave about, but is convenient to the Pointe Hilton if you are staying there.
So yummy service que excellent
Booze is way overpriced. $8 for a coors light no thank you, not when I can go a block down and get the same beer for $4!
