It was the perfect combination of AMAZING food and live music. You can get soft drinks, but since they have a BYOB policy, make sure you bring your own libations. The host and hostess interact with the customers periodically to make sure everyone is having a good time. My wife and I had a great time, so it's definitely our new spot in town.

just experienced their platter with alot of everything meat. this chicken was some of the best I ever had. it would seriously give lo lo's a head turn. the same breading was on the strips, fish and shrimp and and was delicious. The ribs were delicious but I cant say the best. I give 5 stars because this mom and pop shop is beyond worth a second visit. the mac and cheese was creamy and old school. none of that gourmet stuff. just creamy and smooth. the beans were a bit over cooked for me but the rest was fantastic. all in all I'll be back.

Had the chicken and waffles... Since I came after the brunch crowd or was pretty quiet. The restaurant itself is very unassuming but that's not what you want to base the visit on, right? The fits came out hot fresh off the iron and out of the fryer... Very VERY good! The chicken breast was cut so that it would be cooked... It was and the skin had a cracklin' vibe... Love crispy skin! The waffle looked like it had some kind of seasoning but I couldn't tell... I'll be back!

Bless my heart, I came in, lady was very off putting. At first i asked if i could take it to go but changed my mind and decided i had time to dine in. To my utter horror the woman yells sarcastically across the restaurant " NOW she wants to eat here". Paid $7 for my sandwich plus tax and tip, it was 2 peices of wonder bread and a perviously frozen and then deep fried, dry peice of Chicken. It had some lettuce, 1 slice of tomato and a sliver of pickle. Very disappointed. Came here on recommendation, has really good reviews but it just wasnt my vibe. All the best to the owner though.

First time at Ray’s Real Chicken and Waffles was fantastic. First the greeting was immediate and welcoming. We both had two pieces of chicken, and it was fantastic! After looking over the menu and the pictures and raise real chicken and waffles Facebook page, I would love to eat there every night and try each and every dish on the menu! The live music on Saturday evening was more than coupd be expected. They played the BLUES! ! Lose from Cincinnati Ohio, blues from Detroit Michigan, blues from Chicago! I enjoyed the vocalist – both of them, it was a great band. We felt like we were back in Chicago, specifically remembered my birthday at Kingston Mines! We felt comfortable and so glad to have found a restaurant to eat in, take out, or have delivered, per their facebook page. We will be back time and time again! Oh... I was ‘moved’ to my feet... and we started dancing

Food was good but it needed more actual variety of seafood for what the price that they were asking. The service definitely locked. We were told it would be about 15 minutes for our food and it actually took almost 45 minutes. And we were served our food after five other people that had walked in 30 to 40 minutes after we did. Our waitress was very nice but unfortunately we couldn't leave her tip because we were informed after the fact that the machine does not allow for a tip once our credit card have been ran through. It was unfortunate for a waitress and we felt very bad this place needs a lot more organization and better advertising. Everybody that walked in was asked if they had a reservation and nowhere in their ad was a reservation mentioned. The people are friendly the food was good although it lacked a little in variety but they definitely need more organization better advertising and more attention to their customers. Shout out to our waitress was very very nice and we apologize about the tip situation. But that's something that Rags needs to fix also.

I've been here twice and I will never go back there again. The man and woman that own the place are mean spirited. I won't get into full detail about my experience the week before with mr Rag's. Let's just say he had a little too much to drink and had to apologize to me. I accepted and came back the next week. Only to meet the wife, bad energy from the moment we walked in the door. She talked to my 14 year old Son like his mother wasn't present. Rude and nasty attitudes. Both experiences. The food is really good there too but I don't eat people's cooking that have bad energy, it gives you heart burn. I will not return.

Pull up a chair and ask for Kenneth!! This is definitely a go to. I had a phenomenal experience here and will be visiting again for dinner and some live music. A sit in kitchen to view your meal prepared before your eyes is a very rare treat and I must say it's done very well here. I highly recommend this as your go to for authentic southern grub!!

I had really been anticipating trying this place. Walked in the lady was very kind however the gentleman was very snappy. I ordered ribs and fish with Mac and cheese. Fish was over cooked yet a good flavor. Ribs and Mac and cheese had absolutely no seasoning. Menu is very limited and of course they were out of baked beans. Not sure I will be returning.

When I went to this restaurant the service was extremely terrible.I was here for a singing event they had and I went with my friends. My mom happened to be apart of the band and they were giving the band members free food. The owner of the store personally came up to me and said I could get a free meal in place of my mom and I was like oh sweet thank you. So I went up to the counter and ordered. Throughout the whole time of me trying to order my food the person who was taking my order (who happened to be the owners wife) was giving me so much attitude she continued to yell and just overall was giving off weird vibes. She then told me she would give my food to me shortly and I said okay so I went to my table and patiently waited for my food. 1 whole hour goes by and my friends who ordered my food after me had received theirs and so I talked to the front desk and they apologized and said they would give me my food shortly. I went back to my table and then shortly after the owners wife comes up to me saying “your not entitled to receive one” “we’ve given out all the band members food your not entitled to receive one” my mom who was in the band said “ I’m not hungry just give my plate to him” the owners wife said “ stop talking over me he’s not entitled to receive one” and at this point I was like okay. AND TO MAKE THINGS WORSE. My friend who had ordered the chicken and waffles and an order of small beans(they have a small and a large) was charged for a large beans? She gave them her card to pay and the owners wife wanted to get more money out of it who she just charged him for the large beans. I was like nah this ain’t right but my friends weren’t trying to make a big deal so we left. Bottom line is the only reason I’m giving this restaurant 1 star is because I can’t give negative numbers. The food here is not that good and I will never come back here again.thanks to the foul treatment by the owner and his wife. Keep in mind this only part of what happened when I went here just an all around terrible experience. Don’t waste your money here there are many other places who serve better food and have people with better attitudes.

I love this place. It's close to my job so it's conveniently located for me. It brings some much needed food options to Youngtown. Food is amazing. I only ever get the Chicken and Waffles combo though, so I may be biased. But of the 10+ times that I've been there the food has been perfect every time. I am not a fan of chicken on the bone, but his is cooked perfectly EVERY TIME. I love the owners, the husband is a funny character and the wife is very nice. Definitely check them out.

Wow, Rags real chicken and waffles nails it! We've passed by a few times and always wanted to stop, finally dropped in and am so glad we did. The staff is friendly, the location is clean and the live music really adds to the ambiance. A perfect addition to the west valley! We ordered the chicken and waffles as it was our first time. The plate(s) was made to order (awesome!) and came out so hot! The chicken was crispy, yet juicy and flavorful, the seasoning adds the perfect saltiness to compliment the sweet and delicious waffles. (Drools!) Can't wait to go back!

Delicious! The fried chicken is superb. I had chicken and waffle my spouse had chicken with slaw and beans. The baked beans are to die for! Super wonderful people running the place. They have a midday buffet that we cannot wait to try. They also serve smoked ribs and fried catfish for any southern transplants looking for a good down home meal. Highly recommend if you are looking for delicious southern fried chicken. Small place with the focus being on the food so if you are looking for fine linens and bone China, this isn't the place. This is good old fashioned southern back porch surroundings; relaxed and unfussy. Think roadside stand. Sodas/drinks are serve yourself from an plethora of 2 liter bottles or byob! Loved this place and we'll be back often.

This place is fantastic. Super small little mom and pop restaurant. The fried chicken is some of the best I have ever had and the waffle was great. The Mac and cheese is super creamy. I called in to order carry out for me and my family. Someone answered the phone w/ a attitude and stated we are closed for vacation. The person on the phone said it’s posted every where. I said where is it posted? They stated on Facebook and on their front door of the restaurant. First of all if I’m ordering carry out I’m not on Facebook checking to see if you are open or closed and I’m not standing in front of restaurant door...that would defeat the purpose of carry out RIGHT! Ok, I NEVER leave reviews on Google. In fact, I think this may be my first one. But this place was SO GOOD that I was compelled to write a review! The atmosphere is so fun, it's like going to a dinner show! The man who played the piano and sang was amazing! And you guys, THE CHICKEN. Oh, my mouth waters just thinking about it! I honestly had no idea fried chicken could be so outrageously delicious!! It's so moist and flavor-packed that you don't even need a dipping sauce. And this is coming from a girl who LOVES her sauce. I highly recommend #1 on the menu: chicken and waffles! Also, the owner and the employee were both super nice. We felt right at home! By the time we left we were waving goodbye to the other customers because it felt like you sat down with friends to enjoy good music and amazing food. The experience of everything was fantastic!! You totally feel like you walked right into the South! Thank you for a wonderful and very fun evening, our toddler loved it too!

The best chicken I've had in Arizona. Awesome customer service the best hospitality, it's a family business. Our table ordered Chicken and waffles, shrimps dinner and catfish sandwich. Everyone was pleased with a service. Staff cleaned regularly and was very attentive if anything else was needed. Friday night we had an opportunity to enjoy the Chaz thunder band, awesome. Small mom and pop atmosphere. My wife and I did lunch. She had the Chicken Sandwich, and I had the Chicken and Waffles. Easy menu, not a fast food place in any way. The chicken was fresh made in front of us. The breading was Alabama style, nice simple and tasty. The owner came over and chatted with us, a real nice guy. Drinks were even old school. They give you a big cup of ice, and they got a table full of soda bottles and sweet tea. Just fill your cup like you do at home! Real laid back place with great home style food Thanks Rags for a nice lunch, especially since it reminded the wife of home.

Got there at 11:13 12/8 and the chairs were up on the tables and no one was there, doors were locked (with an open sign on the door), we called the number on the window and no one answered. You missed out on a party of 8, 3 and 2, all at 11 am. If you're going to have information on Google, make sure it's correct. I'm a little disappointed and was really looking forward to eating there. But my review can change if the owner contacts me. Edit at 4:52 12/8 after seeing response: I guess they don't care about making money or anyone that comes to dine with them.

I had high hopes for this place but wanted to run away by the end of our meal. The food was decent but the atmosphere was reminiscent of going to your friends house for dinner and hearing him get yelled at and spanked in front of you. The woman(I’m guessing owner) was loudly correcting the two boys for everything they did from the tv channel they chose to how they didn’t ask us if we needed anything even though he had just done so. She was vocally rude to the customer who entered after us because they decided to dine in instead of carry-out. Unfortunately, she was so clearly confrontational, I did not feel even remotely comfortable staying there to finish my meal, so we packed up and left. I know this review will just be replied with “bless your heart”, but I hope the owner really consider their actions as not just a restaurateur but as a person. Being kind will get you a long way.

Lacked back environment with good food and live music. Owner and family worked there and were super friendly. If you're looking for a good night on the weekend. I highly recommend. Dont forget to B.Y.O.B
