REVIEWS OF Maynards Market & Kitchen IN Arizona

My girlfriend and I had a lovely experience at Maynards. We went for Jazz night. The music was lovely, the outdoor setting was very cozy and relaxing. The wine was delicious, and the two Happy Hour food items we ordered both tasted fantastic. We had the steak tartare and the poutine. I definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a relaxing night out!

Jennifer Quijada

Loved the food, the service, and the outdoor seating area.

Pamela Rutter

Lovely atmosphere in historic train station. Our table overlooked their kitchen garden, which was thriving. We went for Sunday brunch. Everything on the menu sounds wonderful so it was diffiicult to choose. We both had the lobster Benedict, which was delicious. The various flavors, such as grilled fennel and arugula, went perectly with the lobster and the sorrel sauce. We also tried their beignets and loved them. Our server was excellent too. We will be back, and soon.

Elaine CBN

Cute Cafe next to the train station.

Angie Staats

Dogs on patio. Okay if you are into dogs, I guess. Soup like grits with only three tiny pieces of shrimp. Not worth the money. Waited for 15 minutes after the hostess seated us for water and another 20 for our drinks. Parking is an issue .

Benjamin Philpott-Matson

Great place to stop in late night for a bite or drink. Friendly people.

Andria Pettera

Excellent everything! You will not go wrong with anything on the menu

Sara Mirasola

I absolutely love the food and atmosphere at Maynards. The wait staff is very experienced in fine dining practices and knowledgeable of the menu without coming off snobbish. The dishes are all cooked fresh mainly from the garden at the location so many dishes can be prepared to accommodate dietary restriction without impeding the taste of the dish. The lighting is Moody and ambient without being distracting and disorienting. Even when every table was full and the train was passing by it was not hard to hear the conversation. Definitely would recommend for a good date night or to celebrate an accomplishment!

Cindy L

I ordered a bacon lettuce tomato with avocado today It had very little bacon on it but this is one of my favorite little places I go to when I visit Tucson. They have a good choice of food, their sandwiches are great and their soup is delicious and I love their outdoor seating. I do want to give a shout out to the employees because every time we go the employees are so nice. I WOULD go back.

Suzanne Davis

We enjoyed a wonderful meal and excellent service. The Gnocchi was delicious, so was the short rib.

Frank Dieterich

I had the reuben with chips. Good, but not great.

Rob King

Absolutely delicious every .

Marcia Fanning

The service and the food was top notch! Portion sizes where just right! Will be going again.

Jessica

I come here to study. It's got a great, welcoming atmosphere. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The staff are knowledgeable and efficient. I also appreciate that I can sit for several hours at a time without being asked to vacate.

Eddie Merkel

This is a fun place in the old train station by the tracks. We sat outside, they have a nice patio surrounded by their garden in which they grow some of their produce. I had the veggie bahn mi and a local beer and both were delicious. A nice weekend lunch stop.

Kimberly Marshall

I tried duck for the first time and it was delicious. The menu didn’t have too much variety but I’m told it changes every two weeks. The atmosphere was nice but it did get a little louder the longer the night went on. I marked it a 4 because I just don’t know that I would really go out of my way to come back for it, I didn’t have anything that really sparked me as “omg this is so unique I need to come back”

Ana Rossini

Good coffee and great breakfast choices.. cool place for breakfast and enjoy the train while enjoying a great cup of coffee

Uñcàg Strong

Decent coffee; fresh food-- what more can you ask for at a 30 minute train stop? A credit to the city of Tucson!

Paavlena Madhivanan

Hi My name is Paavlena Madhivanan, I’m 23yrs old I absolutely love this experience at a wonderful family friendly restaurant with great live music outside of Maynards kitchen. This restaurant have a unique potential for amazing services here and I can’t imagine how much value you that you have. Thank you for treating me such as adult like other grown ups

michael stoklos

They really seem to know how to grill a burger perfectly and correctly to our wishes... our comfort place to sit at the bar

Drew Campbell

Great local restaurant with many favorites from their own garden

Caseko Marin

The food is always great, and they grow some of their ingredients right in their own garden outside. Nice ambiance!

Cami Ward

Delicious food in an unique atmosphere. The pork belly was amazing. Their specials are also delicious. Gets crowded layer in the dinner service, so reservations are recommended.

Gabby De La Cruz

I love the sandwiches and their beer selection is good. I also really enjoy their outside seating a lot for lunch. It's a little pricey but not by much. Also love the table near the window. Just a great place to get a quick bite to eat.

Trevor Kollmann

A great place to find tasty food. But may be a bit overpriced, but that's probably up to individual tastes.

j go

Best Happy Hour menu downtown!

Priscilla Flores

wine list is amazing, healthy food options, sunday buffet is well worth the wait, calorie fix can be used without guilt.

Kelly Coderre

Good food, staff is quick and very polite. The atmosphere was very laid back and quiet.

Edgardo A

Amazing ambience and great service from Jeff on the staff. We were treated like first-class guests. Thank you!

Kb Bet

Great food, great service and really cool atmosphere. P.S. the new Director of Operations was amazing! Cane to our table. Gave us some history of the grounds. Wonderful experience

Mark Schaffer

Since coming to Tucson about a year and a half ago, we've dined there four or five times. Every experience has been absolutely perfect. The food and service are top-notch and rival anything in any major metropolitan city. The chef is a wizard and combines unexpected flavors that are exquisite. For this level of cuisine, the prices are much more than justified. We took guests from Atlanta there this time around. There were satisfied smiles all around the table. We'll be back soon!

Kevin Keller

They opened right on time, 7am, and welcomed in with typical Tucson hospitality. They just opened and took my order and served me without delay. The food was fresh and the cappuccino extra frothy. You can always count on Maynard's to deliver quality service and food. Go ahead, enjoy!

Amisha Singh

Fun dining experience. Mouth watering pasta and great wine selection. My only critique is that the horn noise from trains passing behind the restaurant interrupted our experience a few times. I understand this is something the restaurant can't necessarily fix, but thought I'd give a heads up!

Becca Hamelton

The new summer menu is incredible. I can't wait to go back to try the rest of the new dishes.

Raven

The veggie sandwich was very good. This is kind of an eclectic little place which is part lunch part deli, part, wine shop set in an old train station terminal in downtown Tucson. I would have given this five stars except for the strangely rude man who took our order. He was one of those people behind a counter who is clearly not happy being there and is determined to take it out on unsuspecting customers.

Alex Byron

The food is good and the atmosphere is nice. Prices are on the higher side for Tucson. If you are gluten sensitive, they offer gluten free bread as an option. If you have a peanut allergy, think twice about going here. Apparently they use peanut oil to fry foods etc. The tables are a bit narrow for two people to sit side by side. Service was a bit slow at times.

HF Boroni

Great place! A bit spendy ($16.50 for a big pour of house red!?), but service and food were great and we did have a round of drinks at Happy Hour prices in the Market, then carried them into the restaurant. Nice ambiance, and we all had a great time!

Carlton Louie

Great atmosphere with live music and delicous fine dining.

Raul Chavez

Up to date and modern take in a historic train station. Live music great happy hours and local date at the market

Luis Garcia

I love this place !! Great environment, food +++

Natalie W

The food here is really good! They have a grilled veggie sandwich that is always a favorite! The staff is always friendly & I love that there is an outdoor seating area!

Ruth Blane

We went for a birthday this week and Maynards is so wonderful. The food is excellent, the service is great and the cake was lovely. They really made the day special.

Aras Erekul

Pricey but flavorful food. Live music always tasteful and hits the spot.

Alex Montoya

Terrific place - worth stopping even if just passing through Tucson

Daniel Carey

There food here was simply incredible. I had duck and the flavors and texture were simply perfect

Russell Esslinger

Excellent breakfast burrito. Generous portion.

Sergio Castro

The market has a great atmosphere. The area is comfortable and welcoming. The food was pretty good, and the prices were reasonable. It is very relaxed and is a good place to spend some time, either indoors or outdoors if the weather is accomidating.

Alexandra Robertson

Beautiful atmosphere with well prepared dishes cooked just right.

Dr. Karen Jackson

Adorable place to eat, or grab a bite before your train. Outdoor seating available. Shaded by trees, also close to metro trains.

Julie Ellison-Speight

Amazing food, consistently great service.

Sandra Prather

Good food good service

Jennifer Toothaker

I love this place. We get takeout pizza (half mushroom, half pepperoni with red sauce), get salad, and a baked dessert for takeout. DELISH and so affordable!

Billy Rubasch

We came out for a fun dinner after seeing an advertisement on their social media. We we inquired about it we were met with an extremely rude and condescending manager who refused to honor the special. The food was ok but no where near good enough to be treated like garbage by manager. Our server was in shock when we told him what happened and tried his best to make the experience good, however, there is really no coming back when you start you meal by a manager saying you should probably leave if you wanted the advertised special.

Michael W

Beautiful atmosphere. Jazz night is wonderful. Great, cheap lunch specials.

Nick Mastrovito

Great after-wedding dinner venue. Food was excellent and our waitress was phenomenal!

Jade Terry

We have had appetizers and cocktails here one evening, it was great! Then brunch on a Sunday was marvelous! The lobster benedict was so good. Everyone loved their meal, if we didn't have kids with us I would have stayed there all day on the patio drinking coffee!

Nick Preciado

We get together here every other month and it's always great...

Robin Lamont

Great service. We stopped in for drinks and appetizers. Fun atmosphere. Great to watch the train go by. Friendly staff.

Justin Delaet

Best train station food I have seen in my years working for amtrak.

Susan Hitchye

Went for Happy Hour. Wine flights were $9 for 3 different wines. Good food very well priced. The sommelier was amazing and very knowledgeable.

Russell Stevens

I hate to only give you a four star review but I have to be honest, I ordered from Postmates and I was very specific about how I wanted my order. I said no toasted bread on any one of the three sandwiches and I asked for mayo on all the bread in the sandwiches, we received our order and two of the three sandwiches had toasted bread and there was no mayo on any of the sandwiches. So for that reason I gave you four stars, maybe next time you will be more observant.

michael weaver

Love the laid back vibe of the patio in the spring. Great kumiai oysters on happy hour and the chefs board that has a mix of fresh flavorful cheeses and salted meats. Really enjoy the experience of ordering ahead inside and just enjoying outside without having a traditional sit down meal.

Bill Brennan

Food is very good. Wait staff very accommodating.

Sean King

Came here for breakfast and was really impressed. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff friendly in a genuine way. The coffee tastes fresh from being freshly ground. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was excellent. A great portion for the price. The salsa tasted fresh and with enough kick. My wife had the avocado toast. Good portion and she enjoyed it. We will be coming back.

Karen Gradall

My experience at Maynards Kitchen was awful. The service was God awful slow, which was made even more annoying by the fact that you could visibly tell that they were not even busy that night. This place totally over sells itself on the website as being a classy restaurant with pictures of elegant, spacious, and nicely decorated tables. Yet, when we arrived we were placed at this tiny table that was uncomfortable and rather than the elegant looking tables featured in their pictures, the table was not only small, but in addition had only thin, paper place mats instead of a table cloth. Then as I mentioned before, the service was very slow. In fact it took the server over 25 minutes just to bring our drinks. Then we waited even longer of course for dinner salads and our actual food. To top it all off, when I eventually needed to use the ladies restroom, I encountered a real shocker. Upon closing the door to the stall there was a sign that literally read, "Wait 40 seconds when you flush!" Seriously, I'm not kidding that was really there in what is supposed to be a classy restaurant! In addition, there was only one sink in the bathroom for all of the women to use. As I said, this place sucks! From the service to the actual condition of the building, it is awful. I would never go back there ever again.

Landon Lounsbury

this place is awesome. food is great. I had the sea bass and loved it. I'm always skeptical about getting fish, but this was delicious.

Craig b Griffin

i never eat there but they have good music. next door to the Amtrak.

Norman Bagaas

Mediocre food, slow service. We will not go back.

Leanne Howard

We've been here many times, always for dinner, in part because they understand my allergy to pepper and carefully prepare my food. We ate on the patio a few nights ago when it was chilly and windy and heaters were carefully placed to make our evening comfortable. The steak tartare dish has changed from a few months ago and not for the better. It was served on thick "toast" which became soggy long before I had finished. It had been served with toast points along side with capers and finely diced onions; it was actually a little sour. Help me start a campaign to bring back the former preparation! Salt roasted beets were absolutely PERFECT and so were the scallops, duck and beet risotto. Don't skip dessert, especially the chocolate torte!

Had excellent BLT sandwich on the patio. Staff was efficient and helpful. Wonderful coconut macaroon.

Randy Minck

Good fresh oysters and steak tartare!

Amelia Gotobed

The Parker bread rolls are the most delicious thing in existence! I also got the bean toast which is a nice lights meal but more substantial than just avocado toast. We went right at 9 and had no wait, everything came out quickly and our server was attentive. By 10:15 it started to get a little bit busy. Would definitely recommend! Also they have a great brunch drink menu!

Gerald Jones

Nice service. Good food and beverages. Really cool inside or outside in late afternoon and evening. Historic Railroad Depot.

Dan Fine

Best yet in tuscon

Samantha Hendren

Best tuna fish sandwich I've ever had.

Logan Kraus

They have a really great food awesome service and a well selection of wines I read some reviews online before we went a lot of their good reviews were on hit I ordered the pork belly recommended by our waiter and was very delicious we will return again for sure she must went in downtown Tucson.

awhycee

This is fine dining in Tucson, Arizona. The building is a renovated railroad station and you can view the train going by. It's Downtown and easily accessible. AND MOST OF ALL THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC!!!

Marty West Acuna

Every time I eat here, I'm plesently surprised and have to ask myself, "why didn't I try this dish sooner?!" Exceptional Staff, Service, Atmosphere and Live Music!!

Alarcon Catering

It's pretty good

Barbara Ehrentraut

Great place for happy hour and dinner!!

Kevin

Margarita pizza was nice, maybe could use more cooking to dry the crust. Drinks great.

Andraya D

Great place. Foods pretty good. Prices are a little higher but its bcs they use their own herbs from their garden, the food is all from great sources, natural etc. So you get what you pay for... Worth it= and it's not that expensive$$. Atmosphere is so nice, we sat on the patio and it was a beautiful day!! Enjoyed it

Jimmy Stout

Seems ok, a little over priced and aimed at the urban hipster, but that is probably the real demographic and they have little choice in the matter if they want to succeed. I liked it on the whole. Want to go back and take a look at their wines.

Brandon Watson

Awesome deals and Lauren was an awesome bartender

Mzmagicring

Exquisite service - they even offered to move me when rowdy children were running around nearby. I felt as if the entire staff of the restaurant was looking out for me. The food was innovative and delicious. I highly recommend the quail.

Amy Scully

I have always loved Maynard's as a Tucson staple; however, lately I have been disappointed. The amazing cocktail artist is phenomenal and I've found my niche for the best dirty Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and cocktail onions as well as the best Manhattan with liquor marinated cherries, but sadly the food has waned in its excellence. What was once a fine dining experience has turned sour for me. The bread/fruit salad I ordered had barely either component & literally 4 leaves of greenery, the mussles I ordered were off (when previously they've been delectable), my friend's short rib tasted like it was tossed in a bowl of mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup. Wherever the renowned chef went...he should return, swiftly. I give two stars for the wonderful cocktails and service (staff is delightful)...but I shall not dine again...drinks 100% best in town.

Todd L

I think I might have just had the best lunch I’ve ever had. Arugula Salad with Vegetable Soup washed down with a Hefeweizen. Desert was a raspberry pinwheel with coffee. The pastry chef is apparently quite renowned, and rightly so. The coffee alone was superb. I’m so glad I wandered in. The service was great too. Can’t wait to come back!

Pat Block

Great place. Good breakfast.

Jessica Gonani

It lived up to "the best pastries" in Tuscon! I had the ham cheese and arugela breakfast croissant and it was amazing! Great customer service as well!

Bill Thornton

My go to place for great lunch meetings!

Jon Luebke

Great atmosphere in and outside, amazing historic downtown location. Cozy patio for any size gathering, whether by yourself or with a large group. Lots to choose from on their menu, yummy breakfast pastries to delicious sandwiches for lunch. The Parking lot is usually always full, so finding a space can be tricky.

Ivan Ko

Pretty good food, but for the price it's just acceptable. There are places with higher quality food at a lower price. The environment is pretty neat tho, and their wine selection isn't half bad.

Ellen Armstrong

Had the fish, it was delish!

Dean Frio

Service was great and my food was amazing. It was a great place to celebrate Christmas eve and the ambiance of the train station was fantastic! I'd recommend to anyone visiting Tucson.

Robert May

Very nice place to relax and enjoy some wine and a light meal or appetizer. Good location, downtown. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Marge Abelbeck

It was very good. My only disappointment was how salty my chicken dish was & my companion had to send his steak back because it was over done. They replaced it really quickly though

Vera Klose

What a great place! Maynards reminds me of Europe, where many stations have a nice (sit-down) restaurant and you can watch the trains come and go. The Market which has a limited menu, but LONG happy hours (Yay) has bar seating inside or a very charming outside seating area. Great for appetizers or pizza and a glnice glass of wine or beer -they have a great selection including local. The Kutchen is across the way with all inside seating at tables or the bar. It's more formal than the market, but not stuffy. The food is fresh, inventive and really, really good. The short ribs are very popular and rightly so! This is on our short list of favorite restaurants.

Doug McNall

Great outdoor terrace.

Kate Ferencik

The food here is incredible and the service superb! One of the best dinner spots in Tucson for fine dining. Don't forget about their lunches - same quality in a more casual setting.

Jayson Rogers

Great food, good service, a bit pricey

Mittida Raksanaves

Great food! Great Chef.

Gordon Yates

Nice environment, good bartender, but limited happy hour menu and the food came out lukewarm

DrDave Menke

Good food and service. Nice atmosphere.

Marissa Morrison

Wow, what a great place for fresh tasty dishes! The melon panzanella salad was delicious (I added grilled chicken)! The chef's board was a bit underwhelming but delicious nonetheless. I'll definitely be back!

Barbara Simmons

I loved it! I'll definitely be going back. Atmosphere is nice.....the servers were friendly. I like that this place has two sides.....one side for Happy Hour, and the other side for full service. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and the menus are separate depending on the time of day you come in. I like that

red smith

I've been to Maynards many times and usually have wonderful food and service. However, the last time I was there I had a terrible service experience. My server, Christa, was rude and didn't listen to our order. Based on this latest experience I wouldn't recommend Maynards anymore as I think its going downhill in the service department.

Teresa Burns

Great service, great happy hour!

Adal Felix

Amazing food great service love the ambiance.. love the level of service.

A P

Great location in an old train station. I mainly go to the Market side for breakfast, I haven't been for dinner yet, but both the Market breakfast and the full restaurant brunch are incredible, coffee is excellent. Prices are steep on the restaurant side, somewhat more affordable on the Market side. Highly recommend.

Lizz Lopez

We went to brunch at Maynard Market. Service was outstanding and the food was great as well.

Wendy Baca

This was a great experience. Awesome location, and the staff ate very accomadating

Nikki Holgate

I love everything at Maynard's! Their coffee bar next door is great you. The patio is beautiful and lush. Fair warning, you will have a LOT of trains come by, but I think it's fun to watch them go through. The restaurant and coffee/wine bar are located in a historic train Depot and it's very fun to look around. There is a small train museum next door as well that's worth a look.

Tiana Starke

Great Sunday brunch and the patio is lovely (with heaters). Service was really good and the wait wasn't too long. I ordered the tomato baked eggs and my partner had the lobster benedict-- both were delicious! Cool to dine next to the train depot, too.

Shannon Oneil

It was nice and clean

Michael Dean Wood

Pizza was good. Prices are good. Menu could use some expansion for the evening hours.

robert holt

Promark rocks. Parking can be hard if you don't have a disc ..

Leila Camus-Lamnaouar

Super delicious recipes served up with amazing ambiance. Gorgeous patio or dining room, great music and string lights. There's jazz on Friday nights. The brunch from the market side is delicious at value prices ($4,$5,$6 items) the kitchen serves rich and indulgent options with french and Mexican twists on some items and always with amazing service. It's a great date or brunch with the girls spot in a historical part of Tucson. The train passes by and adds to the effect of transporting you to a different time.

Jeremy Thomas

Great service and fresh food! The cast iron skillet pancake was delicious for brunch. The prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend trying the food here.

Zachary Baker

I go to Maynards for lunch almost weekly and the food is always fresh and consistent. The staff is very nice and always has food ready at the time they say. Thanks Maynards!

Debby Mcclintick

Very enjoyable place for a good lunch.

Paul G.

Great setting. Breakfast burrito..tasty and big enough for two

Amy Sauerlender

If you want a quick lunch of amazing soup (pumpkin ginger) and a sandwhich (BLT) this I'd the place to go! The full restaurant doesn't open until 4:00 so this is perfect if you're earlier than that.

Karli Timlin

Not for everyone if you are seated outside. The trains are fast but loud. I love trains so being next to the track added to the wonderful food and experience. We held our holiday party there and I received many compliments on the location and food.

Patricia Weigand

Charming restaurant with a good wine selection. Located near Tucson’s Amtrak Station. Live music frequently in the courtyard.

Ron Olivares

We went there for a Holiday. I love the paper that they bring out to cover the table. Crayons are offered to draw on the paper while waiting. The food is good. Service is as expected for this type of restaurant.

Iris Martinez

Amazing food and service is amazing

Jennifer Felipe

Here for lunch often! Great food, prices and atmosphere!

Pat Lehman

We went to this place on a Saturday night around 6 p.m. after going to see Les Mis. The wait for inside was a couple of hours but there were plenty of tables in the patio where we sat. Had a great specialty cocktail and the pork chop dinner which was absolutely delicious. Wait staff very attentive but not overbearing. Will definitely return.

Jeremy Trudell

Wow, just grabbed breakfast here while waiting for the train. If I lived in Tucson, I would eat here all the time. Food is top quality using unique and well matched ingredients. Great atmosphere too!

Al Do

Good food, friendly staff. When our person brought out the utensils, she saw that they were dirty, so she gave me a new set, with an apology. That's very considerate, and shows she pays attention to such details! Fantastic job!

Rev. Dale Hallen

OUTSTANDING!!! WHAT A LOVELY PLACE TO HANG OUT WITH FRIENDS. Great Food, Excellent Service. Thank You All For All You Do. Blessings Dale

Cliff Wingard

Unique breakfast spot with great coffee and even better food. Their breakfast sandwich was a delight. Will be sure to return next time we're in the area.

Fitz Smerz

happy hour and wine tasting at affordable prices with exceptional food. the best place in town to drop in and have a gnosh and a glass(or bottle!) of wine

dhruv pande

Good food and Ambiance, definetly a date place 1. Great cocktails, good balance of alcohol 2. Their roasted chicken

Stuart Quan

Nice for breakfast with kids Train museum is next door

Gretchen Golibersuch

Prices were more than fair compared to the quality of food and service received. Lovely!! Hope to return soon.

Joshua Nelson

Nice sandwich place that also doubles as a wine store.
