You will see the feddbacks of people who consumed the services of Kababeque Indian Grill (Restaurant) in Arizona area.
At this moment this firm has a rating of 4.3 stars out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 248 reviews.
As you can see it reaches an opinions average is high, and it is founded on a large number of opinions, so we may be pretty sure that the score is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to give their opinion when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to write reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Indian restaurant.
The university folk are spoiled by this place. So much variety and so much authentic flavor. Pick a protein and then decide what you want them how to cook it. Their garlic naan is a must have for any meal. You can come here ten times and get something different every time and still not scratch the surface of their complete menu. Near the back by the napkins and plasticware are three different sauces. The red one is my favorite, but they are all delicious and unique.
Really good food but a little pricey so this place is usually a treat myself. Food is always hot and staff is always nice and happy to answer questions.
Delicious bread, lots of choices
The first time I tried Indian Food, I loved it. The employees are very friendly and kind. He helped me by explaining the food and which one is a good choice for a beginner. The food is delicious, I totally recomend eating here
Want to get your Indian food fix, fast? Go NOW.
Need to try other dishes 1st time here
The food is disgusting. I gave it several tries but each dish was money waisted.
Delicious food, large portions and reasonable-but-not-cheap prices. The small dining area can be cramped if busy so you may want to avoid rush hours.
Delicious food. Delicious! But the service could be better sometimes.
We were driving through Tucson on Thanksgiving day and stopped at this restaurant as we were in the mood for Indian. The food was really good and they had a good variety . Bravo !
Plates are big. Three plates were enough for our family of 5. Menu is also simple and staff is friendly and attentive.
Most unruly staff. I ordered online, but they refused to take blame for the wrong order they sent and blamed it on the delivery service. And food wasn't great either.
I love their food so much!
Meat was tasty. Salad was aged iceberg lettuce, not good. Very low key, paper plates and plasticware. Reasonably priced
A great, quick, and friendly place to stop in for Indian food. While not as good as their sister restaurant Saffron, it's a different, more casual and "fast-food" style. Their "Q-rolls" are awesome and well-priced little Indian burrito things. Their chicken tikka masala is great and naans are amazing. I've always had great service and there is never usually a line or lack of seating. They are open during the summers as well which can't be said for all the restaurants in the university area. As far as I know, no free parking in the immediate area which is a bummer. You can order online now but as a warning, there are some price discrepancies (online is more expensive).
Just had a combo plate from their food truck. Came with good portions of chicken tikka masala, channa masala, a veggie samosa, rice and roti. All I can say is fantastic! Lived in India for a time and this is the best Indian food I've had since back in America. Northern Indian style spicing.
Very good casual place.
I have eaten Indian food all over the country. This is the best Indian food I have yet to encounter, bar none; when I say that, I include expensive 4 star Indian restaurants as well. The Tikka Masala is absolutely amazing and handmade as is everything else that I have ever tried. This place may be cheap, but it's absolutely amazing food. Get some garlic naan with your meal but keep it warm so it doesn't harden up (keep it wrapped in the tin foil while you're chewing). Everything is extremely fresh as well.
Their spicy is really spicy fair warning.
Really tasty Indian food at reasonable prices. We were lucky enough to arrive before a flood of students came in, so our food was delivered really quickly. I'll visit here again.
A regular destination for Indian cuisine. Their korma and biryanis are must try. Also the hot garlic naan is a good way to go with any gravy item.
Great flavors and price. Only glitch was an odd piece of hard plastic like material found in the saag paneer
Awesomest fast food Indian joint you'll find. The entire menu is filled the tasty treasures. You can't go wrong with the chicken tikka, the kabobs, the veggie samosas and the naans. Very reasonably priced and you can usually have food in your hand within ten minutes. Love love love this joint.
Set in the heart of the University area, this is conveniently located only for those who are already on campus. If you find yourself on campus and want better than fast food in a fast food atmosphere give this place a try. As any fan of Indian food will tell you, there is wide variation in any particular dish depending on who prepares it. I tried a couple of standard dishes to begin with. In my opinion the Lamb Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala were delicious, even if I prefer the recipes at restaurants where I grew up. Kababeque probably set the standard for many U of A alum.
Food was AMAZING. Probably the best Indian food I've had in a while. Getting the lamb kebab is a must!
Delicious Indian Food right at the U of A Main Gate. Small, unassuming restaurant with no wait staff. You order at the counter and eat from styrofoam containers with plastic utensils. But the food is FABULOUS. Order the Tikka Masala, Pasand or the Korma with chicken, shrimp or other protein. Comes with basmati rice but you can add on flavored naan, samosas, or other sides. Bring an appetite as the portions are very generous!
I eat here every time I'm in town. Their food is really good, but they changed a few recipes this year and it was slightly disappointing compared to before. But still good.
Absolutely delicious!! I crave this food, gotta go at least weekly!
This restaurant is owned by the same people who own Saffron in Oro Valley. The same quality and delicious food is served here, albeit with an urban aesthetic and decor that is very befitting of the Main Gate Square location. As an Asian Indian, this is the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to in the United States.
Indian food and Bollywood on the tv!
wonderful food a good value and great service
Saturday afternoon lunch at Kababeque, great idea. As soon as you open the door of the restaurant, the aroma of spices fills your nostrils. Perusing the overhead menu, I chose the lamb kabab that comes with lettuce and rice. The meat was marinated in a yogurt sauce and grilled and there was plenty of it, too. Mixing it into the rice and lettuce was my preferred method of eating it. Tasty, tender kamb chunks, a variety of sauces to choose from to compliment your meal and leftovers a-plenty. So, so good!!
Nice, affordable Indian on campus. Naan bread consistently good. Generous portions.
If you want some amazing tikka sauce, and lots of gluten-free options, definitely find your way here! The other menu items are good, too, but we have loved the tikka masala since the beginning. It was the first international food my kids devoured. For more of the Indian ambience, Bollywood videos play the whole time. I also appreciate that it's one of the few places left that has the fountain drink area available for customers to refill their own drinks. The reasons this review is not a 5 are the following: small space, some strange seating choices, muted or low volume on TV, and smaller-than-average TV.
tasty, quick, clean
Curry & tikka masala were great! Presentation was a little lacking, but otherwise I highly recommend!
The BEST Indian restaurant in Tucson! The prices are about the same as most Indian restaurants but you get more for your money since they don't charge extra for rice, like everyone else does. And the flavors are full and rich! Definitely not a fancy atmosphere and parking is bad. But who cares when it's that good?! Just call a Lyft or Uber if you don't want to worry about parking.
Poor facilities, ambience, and service. The food is served piping hot in the flimsiest of disposable (thermocol) containers. Super environmentally wasteful and for the 1i0ish dollars an entree, a rip off. It spilt on us and severely hurt (burnt) fingers and rather than a sorry, the words spoken were “your fault man”. They were more concerned about cleaning up than the needs of their customers. To sum up: “dump”. Avoid at all costs. Food is average at best. Sad that this is what Tucson folk experience as “Indian food”. Sorry!
The garlic naan and pasanda (mix of korma and masala) is a good combo. Yes, a bit pricey, but until Twisted Tandoor is back in business (RIP Mukhi) this is probably your best bet for curries. I like it spicy, which isn't nearly "Thai" spicy - I would call it a medium-hot really. The self-serve chutney is appreciated.
We love the Tiki Masala! They also have great vegan options and gluten free! One of the best Indian food places in town, bar none.
Delicious!
My family and I always end up getting Kebabeque at least every other week! They're owned by the same family that runs Saffron, and while this restaurant is certainly not as upscale, the food has the same quality. I personally get the chicken tikka masala spicy with garlic naan, but all the food is really very good. Plus it's cheap! An all around fantastic place.
I really like this place location is convenient for me it's near 4th Ave/ downtown! Food is delicious exploding with flavors.
Love this place! Have been here a handful of times and usually just get chicken curry. They totally botched an order once and after writing an email they offered to replace the meal and make it right. Probably the best/freshest curry I've had. Love the naans. So much flavor and a good amount of food. Always have some leftovers. Check this place out! I'll try branching out and trying other dishes but the curry is GREAT.
Absolutely delicious!
Kinda no frills, but seriously delicious food for better than decent prices. Friendly service, and a reasonable wait considering the quality. I had the double lamb roll today, which was truly melt-in-your-mouth amazing. Got it in about 10 minutes or less, and probably should have eaten it on site rather than taking it to go. This double handful is a bit too much for on the go one-handed eating. Enjoy!
They use deception for profit but the food is good. They have a menu posted outside that is 5 years old and has old very outdated prices (around $3 off current prices). When I asked about the price difference the employee immediately said "that menu is 5 years old...it says 'prices subject to change' on it" as if the fine print made him feel better about deceiving his customers. Although the food is good I will not be back because I prefer not to support a business that knowingly uses deception in their business model.
I used to love going here but when i ordered it to go for the first time they completely screwed me over! Over half of the freaking 11 dollar bowl was rice! They skimped out on the actual sauce. Yeah whenever I crave Indian food this is the place I will NOT go to
Great
Good Indian restaurant
Pro: The food was really good. Great place for vegetarians. Definitely order ‘To Go’. The food come in better containers. I think they should just drop the styrofoam and use the to go containers only. Con: The bathroom was not handicap accessible due to the hallway being used for storage. It was difficult to reach without a disability. Note: This place is located in the university square. If you get a parking spot on the street or the parking garage near by, great. Otherwise it’s best reached by foot or streetcar.
I usually LOVE this place but i tried a single q roll for a quick to-go lunch and it was more of a taco. Seriously. It was wrapped in a 6 in tortilla, for $8 including tax and tip. I could only finish half because it fell apart. :( other than the rolls, this place is tops for quick indian food.
I love Indian food and have honestly never been disappointed in my life. Until Kababeque. I ordered kofta, tikki masala, naan, rice, and a large mango lassi for take-out. My total was $30 and I threw away $24 worth of food (everything but the naan and the lassi). My kofta was like tomato paste mixed with 2 or 3 seasonings and I would consider it inedible. I have never been one to throw away perfectly good food... and I didn't today either! It's unbelievable that this place has been open so long. I'm terribly regretful for the money I wasted today.
Reli good
the samosas are huge!
Their chicken tikka masala makes me want to keep shoveling it in till I can't move. Fortunately I have some will power otherwise they'd have to roll me out the door after every visit.
Great Indian food .
A bit pricey, but delicious. A great place to get a big bowl of curry to go.
so good. very authentic with tons of flavor. trust me, i would know.
Good food
Highly recommend the Haryali roll. If you want vegetarian, the Matar Paneer is great and so is the Chole Bhature.
Tasty but super unhealthy and low quality product.
best affordable indian food in tucson !!!
It is always the best Indian food that I have ever eaten! I am never disappointed!
Yummy! Tried a couple of the menu items, and needless to say, the flavors and quality of the food will definitely bring me back here. Super tasty! Nice to find a good, staple for Indian food!
Their Alu naan are awesome.
Good Indian Curry place, one I recommend often
Ive only ever ordered the korma, but it was so good I never wanted anything else
It is a good place to hangout with friends. It is situated in the busy road of University Boulevard. It has quite an Indian feel, not just in food but ambience too. They play Indian songs on the television. I have tried their Aloo naan and cheese naan, which was really tasty. The best thing about this place is, they serve amazingly tasty sides like curd, mint sauce and red sauce. They serve beer too. Their sitting is fine. Washrooms are fine too. Staff is nice and cordial. It's definitely a place to go.
Still going nearly 10 years after I finished school. Still good food, and they validated our garage parking!
The food was not bad but nothing to write home about. For what you get and being a counter service restaurant, it is very overpriced. Not wasting my money here.
Most of it is a hit but some are misses. Try the rice pudding though. Its delicious.
My office orders from here all the time. We love that they deliver and the food is amazing. This time, however, we are less than satisfied. We made a note that we wanted a specific number of sauces with our 5 orders. We got a total of 3. When we called about it we were told they only give one complimentary sauce per entree. Two things wrong here. 1. We didn't even get enough to cover one per entree (not to mention we've gotten multiple sauces on every other order we've gotten). 2. We should have been called about this problem. If you can't give us what we ask for then we should be notified before our food is brought to us. When we called we were told there is nothing they can do. That our problem isn't big enough for them to try and fix. Interesting.
Ordered from their food truck and we are hooked! The chicken tikka masala was absolutely delicious and we will be sure to come back again!
lamb Biryani was full of flavor and fluffy AF. very good.. Chicken Tikka Masala, extremely good. Mango lasse.. meh.... not so good. warm and lacking mango. samosas, meh... too fat and soggy, sauces were just OK.. but otherwise a fantastic meal.. thank you guys
This place has great food! I've only ever had the chicken tikka masala and chicken pasanda. However, they're both so delicious that I don't want to try anything else! Add some garlic naan to your order - you won't regret it!
Tasty food.
Definitely a good local place to swing by on university! The food is good, and the owner is extremely friendly. Support local places like this instead of chains :)
Very tasty Indian food in a small informal restaurant.
I love the Chicken Tikka Masala.
Food delicious! It was served on paper plates using plastic forks, but the flavors were outstanding.
Very good place to hangout on Friday night
I get take out from here a lot of times. Food is fine but the taste isn't consistent all the time.
very very good food and friendly staff. one of the better fast food places near university
I went with my family to Kababeque , starting with the location, it is located at decent place in HSR. The ambience of the restaurant is really very nice, it is sophisticated yet comfortable. We ordered special chicken stick Kababs as a starter and main course. The servings were really good and taste was also amazing. I don't find that price was too high, it was worth it.
This place has a bad rep. But the food is awesome. For a take-out place, you couldn't ask for more. I get the Chicken Tikka Masala, which is awesome. I'd argue that it's the best I've had. And I've tried tons of tikkas. Do yourself a favor and swing by there next time you're on University. Or call ahead. They also deliver now! Best place on University, to me.
I've tried many Indian restaurants in different cities. In Tucson, I must say that this place is the best so far. The flavor jumps out at you at even mild setting. I order Saag Paneer at every place to test out the taste and Kabebeque definitely makes the cut. Not watery and bland like other places. Careful ordering the medium or very spicy. I'm too chicken to try and mild was awesome enough for me.
I love this place. They give me exactly what I want. The food is out quickly and is always hot. You can't eat a cold Tikka masala! Cafeteria style food means either take it to go or eat in, either way enjoy it piping hot with all the salsa you could ever want.
I usually go to Kababque, but today, there was a new black girl works there. She was not polite at all and not respectful. I ordered my usual order and took some lemons, but she was looking at me and told me that she would charge me for the lemons!! Totally disrespectful!! Usually, there is an Indian man who is very good in communicating with the customers, but this girl should not be dealing with customers and should not work at this restaurant ! In terms of the food, it is good, but zero for this experience because of the new worker.
Staff not friendly
Fast food take on indian food.. its pretty good, not amazing.. when you order something spicy, I think they should balance the spice better with salt/sourness and not just add a bunch of red chilli. like their options though
Had this at the outlet malls, and the food was amazing. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend the Chicken or Lamb rice bowls!
The staff was very approachable, friendly, and helpful in explaining the menu and recommending choices based on my preferences. The food itself was even better; the curry was authentic and rich with various, different layers of flavor and spices. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
Fealthy - the tables are dirty, even after 'cleaning'. They totally messed up our order. It wasn't tasty either. I don't even think this is a real Indian restaurant.
Indian Comfort food. Not great, not terrible, but consistently decent.
Delicious
Always a great experience at this place. Not sure why there are so many reviews saying it's expensive.. it's not. Great food. I recommend getting food to-go because it comes in plastic, recyclable containers rather than styrofoam boxes. Chicken makahani and chicken korma always on point.
Food was delivered ahead of schedule hot and fresh. Everything tasted extremely good and the portions are very generous for the price. Overall would definitely recommend and will be trying again myself. Full of spices and flavor, but I ordered extra spicy and I felt like the heat could have been upped a bit. That was probably the only thing holding me back from giving it a 5 star rating
Good food. Ate too much!
Food was ok...
Their food truck comes to my office and the food is always great! The guy in the truck gives great service!
So good!
I used to not like indian food, but thanks to kababeque now im addicted. I always get the chicken pasana spicy and garlic nan. Friendly staff and owner is always making sure everything is right. Really a great place!
Likely the best curry in town. Been eating here for years. Always great. Every time. No exceptions. It is a very small place and seating is extremely limited, so don't show up with a large group. It has a fast food vibe: order at counter, food in styrofoam containers/paper plates. It is a must have for lunch.
I hated it...the food was kinda stale...the mango Lassi had curd lumps...tea was good.? sad
Small place but very polite and tasty. Good food portions.
one of tucson best
Amazing food truck
Would definitely go back. Food was great.
Went for lunch with a coworker on a weekday. Cute little place that is very clean and the people were super friendly. Food was great!
Please don't waste your time and $$ no offense but one off the worst food .. :(
Everything I've had here is great, and the staff are very friendly and courteous.
I am very impressed by the variety of dishes and flavors at this college hangout. The sides are very filling too and they have several beer options.
Always pleased with the service there, they are always on-point with the food and it is quick. During the school year at Uni, it gets kinda packed up and stuffy in there, my new favorite time to invade Kababeque is during the monsoon season.
A good indian grill place in the middel of all the nice local mexican/spanish food tent.
Best place to eat in Tucson! Must go guys!
Delicious food. Great service. The dining area is small but comfortable.
Expensive, college eatery. No silverware, and you'll eat on paper plates and styrofoam boxes. It's not easy to keep a table clean. Few tables.
مطعم هندي ومأكولات هندية ممتازة
Quick, easy, cheap and tasty. Spicy korma is very good!
Ordered pranthas with lamb saag through DoorDash and they sent plain tortillas..... don’t spend your money here not worth it.
My favorite India food place.
The food was good but the service is much slower than a normal take-away place. We ordered ahead (at 1:30) and our predicted pick-up time was 1:45 but we didn't see our food until 2:05. When we went to the pick-up area to ask if our to-go order was ready, the staff member we interacted with was not polite.
Lamb wrap was the best I've had. Ordered it extra spicy and almost killed my tongue. Perfection.
Great food, great prices. Very flavorful and friendly staff
I'm Punjabi Indian and I've never been to a walk up to the counter Indian restaurant like this and I must say that I was impressed. I had the lamb with padanda and it really hit the spot. The guy at the countsr was really helpful and nice. I would definitely return. They also have a delivery service thru an app
Good
I order takeout from here pretty frequently. It is okay. Not the best Indian food in Tucson, but quick and easy.
The food is excellent, and their Tikka masala has a wonderful creamy and tomatoey sauce. If only the parking weren't such a nightmare...
One of the best Indian restaurant in town. Located inside University of Arizona. This is a branch of Saffron. They have varieties of Indian dishes in both vegetarian and non vegetarian category. They have white rice, biryani, varieties of nan, all types of curries, juice, soft drinks, lassi etc. Tatse is good. Spiciness can be customized as per requirement. My favorite in town without any doubt.
Totally not worth the price. Not even close.
The food was hot and very tasty. Good place to eat
I give 3 stars for the food but 2 stars missed because the place there need to be cleaned and tidy. Prices little bit high comparing with testy and quality of the food
Always hot fresh food with choice of heat factor!!
Do it!!
The best food
Awful. Dirty place and unfriendly staff. My order was messed up. My dish had badly burned onions that made the whole dish bitter. Avoid!
The food here is really good, really fast, and at a great price. To top it off they are very nice. The problem is that they serve the very hot food in Styrofoam containers, which then melt a bit and the food ends up tasting like melted plastic. This can't be good for you and is really unappetizing. If you just eat the top half of the food that didn't touch the Styrofoam-you're golden! I am very surprised I didn't see any other reviews here mentioning that. Maybe I just have a talent for tasting melted petroleum products.
Best Chole Bhature in the US. The Shahi Kofte is good too. Other dishes are average or above average. I have eaten at several Indian restaurants in the NY/NJ/CT and the Bay area. Nothing comes close to the taste of food in Tucson.
I love this restaurant! Amazing food and good service. Any chance I get I try and stop at this location. There's a convenient order online option. The only reason I give it four stars is because they are on University and parking is kind of a hassle.
Fantastic food and friendly, courteous staff.
