This Restaurant belongs to the category of American restaurant.
Food was good. Live band, family atmosphere. Wait time was a little long.
Excellent staff, amazing food, delicious beer, and great atmosphere. Simply wonderful.
Great food, drinks and location. We eat here at least once every time we are in town.
We are a family of 5 on vacation and had a lot of fun at Culinary Dropout. The menu had a large selection, food was really good and we all had a great time playing all of the games. We enjoyed ping pong, corn hole, using the photo booth and sitting by the fire pits. Would definitely recommend this place for a meal and atmosphere. Great relaxed atmosphere. Huge delicious portions.Service is perfect, the staff is there when you need them and leave you alone when you do not need them.
We usually go here when we have a crowd. Decent food, good atmosphere.
First thing -- at&t cell phone service was spotty at best. But that's a good thing! It seems like the building is a Faraday cage since it is made of metal. Servers were prompt to requests and super courteous. The food was phenomenal. I ordered a meatloaf with a side of sour cream and guacamole and was delighted. Note: order the meatloaf without ketchup, as I had to scrape it off because I don't like it much.
what a great place! live music, craft cocktails, delicious food, pingpong, amazing open space with great service! what more could one ask for. glad I opted for this new restaurant concept instead of going to a more traditional (stuffy) restaurant with servers who give you the speech... you know the speech
This place offers great ambiance, good comfort style food with their viewing kitchen and the service is great. Our server, Logan, was very pleasant and accommodating with our large group. There was even an area in the back of the restaurant to play bags, ping pong and other games. We didn't spend any time in the back bar area but I would go back to Culinary Dropout just to hang out in their lounge style seating pods with the cool 50's style outdoor chairs. Very eclectic and interesting!!
Fun and energetic, open area. Inventive menu with fresh ingredients and freshly made in-house food. The pretzel rolls and salads are delicious and hit the spot. The drinks are equally as impressive as the fare.
Always loved this chain. Food's always good, nice atmosphere, clean facility. Highly recommend!
The atmosphere is outrageously awesome. Romantic, Americana, Gregarious. Service is Top Notch. The Gin martini was chilled to perfection. Garrett was helpful, accommodating and most charming. Highly recommended. Live music, cleanliness, great aura. THANK YOU!!!
Always a fun place! Service was great and kids meals are a great price and good choices. Food is good but I wish they had more gluten free options. Need gfree bread option for burgers and sandwiches.
Love Culinary Dropout! From the atmosphere, to the food and the service, it is a wonderful experience every time I visit. It's nice to a restaurant that goes out of their way to make sure you are enjoying the experience!
This place is awesome! Great space at The Yard with other restaurants to choose from and an open area with TVs and lawn games. Great for large groups. There are also event spaces available. The food at Culinary Dropout is AMAZING. An order of the pretzels is a must. I was only Phoenix for a couple of days but went here two nights in a row.
These guys carry a good essence of college spirit and great comfort food. 3 cheese Fondue and pretzel bites started us off. They were really good. I had to slow down before I filled up. I had the fish and chips and my wife Donna had the meat loaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. Very good! The hefeweizen beer was excellent.
Party of three here! We reserved a table a few hours in advance and walked in and we're seated within one minute. The service was fast and the food and atmosphere were awesome. Can't wait to come back!
Dig the vibe, and food is amazing. Pork Belly Nachos were good, as well as the Steak Salad!!
Went for Mother’s Day yesterday and the food and drinks were delicious as always! I love this location because I feel like it’s a hidden gem in a random building but once you get inside it’s massive! I ordered the Southwest bowl and my husband had the Burrito, both were awesome! My kiddos shared the egg, bacon & potatoes. The potatoes were SO good and we stole a few to eat ourselves. We also enjoyed it playing games out on the back yard after brunch.
A little pricey and a bit pretentious... The interior is cool and this place has potential as a different more inexpensive restaurant to be honest. Their food is decent at best at the price ranges they've set forth. I would avoid on the weekends or early evening to close, it is in ASU college campus range and gets crowded with partying college kids... Not my idea of a good Friday or Saturday night out for dinner. I would go to a Scottsdale bar if I wanted the type of weekend crowd feel here.
A great casual restaurant with a fun festive environment and quality food. The menu offers a wide selection of items that will satisfy your cravings and there are great drink options. Service is great. Staff are friendly. The vibe is hip and there's live music a few nights each week. It's a fun spot for dinner or drinks and to hang out with friends.
Great place with a cool atmosphere. Food was excellent. The patio was a great place to dine and hang out. The music inside was a bit loud - I generally like my music loud, but this was a bit too loud for a restaurant. The volume on the patio was much more appropriate. Other than that we all enjoyed our visit to Culinary Dropout. Highly recommended.
Do not go here during high peak. the cooks do not know how to keep the deep fryer at temp. We got a greasy mess of fries, fish and apps. The bar section overtook the eating section with noise and the servers looked like they just got out of bed. I understand every place tries to make a statement, but a little professionalism as far as staff goes a long way.
I went in for the first time and had some of the best food and service I have ever had. Our server’s name was Jonny and he recommended cocktails and built an antipasti for us that was terrific. I was surprised to find out it was only his first week on the job but we will be coming back soon to see him and the terrific staff
A great restaurant with a really fun ambience and amazing food! Colaneri dropout will not let you down… Clean environment and very friendly servers… I recommend this place to anyone it’s in the area.
I have never had a bad meal here. Their menu really is unique but is loaded with a great selection. I would recommend the fried chicken for sure. There are also activities you can do while waiting for a table. Cornhole, ping pong, and table shuffle board. Makes the sometimes long wait really not bad at all.
Awesome spot. Huge restaurant with friendly staff and balanced but expansive menu with options for everyone. Huge fan! It was all delicious
I’ve always liked the atmosphere and concept. It’s a great hangout with coworkers. I just still find it difficult to order something I really want maybe I’m just picky.
Tried this place out and was pleasantly surprised. The place was nice, and it was busy for a Wednesday night. Ordered a beer which was from a nice selection. My dinner was the Korean ribeye cap steak with vegetables. Steak was perfectly cooked with a nice spicy flavor. Vegetables were also very good and had the same spicy sauce. I would go again.
At first glance, it may seem chaotic inside. But, it is an extremely friendly and relaxed environment. People do not hesitate to come up to any empty seats and ask strangers if they are taken and if not will usually sit down next to them. Sometimes random conversations will come of this sometimes not. But, it is a very relaxed setup. The game area was pretty fun too. But, it could be a little hazardous moving around through the area with people jumping after random ping pong balls and the like. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the food. It was good. But, it could have been a lot better. The service was excellent. But, you could tell a huge slow down in the kitchen when it got even a little busier.
Ordered the Fried Chicken Plate. It was so delicious. The chicken, mashed potatoes and coleslaw were outstanding!
I really enjoy coming to culinary dropout and always love the food. The waitresses are usually really friendly and kind, but the hostesses are always a bit rude when you’re waiting to be seated. Every dish I’ve had here has been fantastic and it’s a great atmosphere for groups and fun. The live music is great as well!
Decent food. Had the steak salad. Waited a bit long to take our order but she apologized sincerely for the wait. I enjoy fashion and make up, but almost all the servers here wore little clothing or extremely revealing and had on so much make up it looked unhealthy making the environment a bit uncomfortable. I dont want to feel like hair and makeup are going to make it's way into my food, just want to enjoy the atmosphere and food. My opinion.
This place has really got the atmosphere nailed down! The staff is extremely friendly and gives some great service. Unfortunaly, the food is nothing to call home to though. We had the meatloaf and steak tacos. Meatloaf was good! Steak tacos were not so much, the meat was pretty dry. Overall a good experience because the ambiance is great!
Great place, good food, and wonderful service. The barmaid Alli was very personable and a great asset to your restaurant. She was attentive and really made our visit excellent. Highly recommended and definitely will return.
Fun atmosphere. Friendly bar tenders. Good beers. Excellent cocktails. Appetizers and bar food hit the spot. Been here several times and haven't been disappointed. Guess I'll have to keep coming back. Did I mention the games! Recommend you come here and try everything. Large open space with plenty of room for everyone.
One of my favorite places to go for lunch/dinner. Only complaint is that the pretzel appetizer is too damn big! I'd recommend they make the happy hour version available at all hours, but that's just me. Brunch is also a must-try; check out the smokehouse hash. For dinner I would recommend the fried chicken entree, just to see what they're all about: big portions and savory meals. The meatloaf is also a good choice, and for lighter fares, check out the pierogi or wings.
Food is great, drinks are interesting and it's a super fun atmosphere. The one negative is this place is popular. What I mean is there are a lot of people who want in. Reservations are a must unless you want to sit at the bar or out on the patio. This also means that the staff seem geared to turn over tables as quickly as possible. If you want to get in and get out to your next stop, this is a great option. If you want a place to lounge and hang out after your meal... This may not be it. At the very least, expect to be made to feel like you should be moving towards the open seating once you've finished eating. Our table was cleared of whatever we finished, which included our water cups (without asking if we wanted a refill). Would probably go back but there are more intimate, less crowded places with the same quality of food that don't feel the need to process people through.
Excellent food and drinks are craft style. Good beer selection. This Tempe location gets crazy crowded, and reservations for lunch are likely necessary for a table. Clean, good service and nice atmosphere. The stools are back breakers, so you probably want to get a table. Trust me.
Be sure to make a reservation before you go or expect to wait. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. Our server was very helpful and attentive. Would definitely recommend this place.
Enjoyed our dinner here. Even though they were busy we got in quickly and we were served and out in less than an hour which was nice since we were going to a concert. Food wasn't mind blowing but was good and the service was very friendly and efficient. We'd go back for sure.
Hubby and I came here for dinner after a whole day of pigging out around the Phoenix area so I was saddened I wasn't able to order more food.We opted to share a steak salad and a Brussels sprouts appetizer. When we ordered the salad and said we were going to share it, they put the salad in 2 separate bowls for us
Food was good, had the kale salad.. it was very tasty and fresh, loved the dressing. Ate just after lunch hour (1pm) so restaurant was quiet and not crowded at all.. however you'd think service would be spot on but not so much.. server had to be tracked down and not so responsive.
Great place all around. The atmosphere, food, and service are always excellent. They have a semi-outdoor open area that is great if you have a large group.
Definitely one of the best gastropubs I've been to in my life. The barn-like ambience with the string lights and the misters certainly set the tone for the food, which has a very industrial feel to it. Their steaks are probably the best, but I was pleasantly surprised by their butternut squash ravioli which oozed with a fresh lemony scent. You can't go wrong with their starters either. The Marconi almonds were a delight.
For the price it should have been way better than it was. The french fries tasted like salt blocks. All in all not impressed. The house chips were decent the server was exceptional.
Definitely will never go back and recommend you go somewhere else. Our server Chris seemed more preoccupied with trying to pick up his female customers than taking care of business. It took him 45 for him to serve our food, and it wasn’t all that busy in the kitchen. He was never around when we needed and I came close to asking for a manager or a different server. The food was subpar. Our friends ordered a burger and the quote unquote soup of the day. My wife and I ordered the Mac burger and butternut squash ravioli. Everything tasted like it was frozen and just reheated and or it had been under the warmer for a considerable amount of time. The value of the service & food was not anywhere near what we were charged. Hell, we asked for and were charged for a 20oz beer and it was served in a 12oz glass. When I asked the server he said it was the correct glass. The only positive note of the experience is that they had a decent beer list. If Chris had actually tried being a server and not some wannabe Fabio we would have had a couple more rounds.
This was the absolute best service over had in years. Sarah was our server and was absolutely the best. Period. If you can go, that's all.
The waitress possessed a super personality that added to the overall casual / sophisticated ambiance of an open air bar and dining tables.
Visited for Father's Day brunch. I have a few minor 'complaints' though I use the term loosely - they didn't impact the overall experience of the day. This was my 2nd visit and I ordered the same thing again it was very good, Pub Burger with egg. Drink selection was decent. I don't have mixed drinks, my wife does. She felt they were perhaps a bit overpriced for what she actually got. The patio was very comfortable despite the heat outside. They do a great job keeping it cool. There were a bunch of games to play with my godson. My mom thought the live music was a bit too loud, it made conversation a bit difficult. The performance was GREAT! however, super talented.
Good food and service. Highly recommend
This place is amazing! I was visiting Scottsdale and happened upon this amazing restaurant. I had the fried chicken and it was life changing..so much so that I ate this 3 days in a row. It was light and crispy, the flavors were wonderful and I honestly wish I lived in Scottsdale just so I could eat this every day. I also tried a bunch of their appetizers...all of which were incredible. The atmosphere is chill, full bar and a menu that is impressive.
Steak salad was really great! Everything tossed and coated with justtttt the right amount of dressing. Really enjoy the beer selections and the pie! Very large venue with cool bar area and covered "outdoor" patio with cornhole, foosball, and ping pong. Would definitely go hang out here with my friends if I was a local.
Solid food and drinks, but honestly the ambiance is what keeps me going back. It’s such a cool space, super lively, and live music is awesome! Fun spot for date night.
The inner seating area isn't small, but it fills up fast. So make a reservation! We ended up on the patio, otherwise it was an hour wait and we didn't even have anyone in line in front of us. The patio is well equipped with fans and misters, so even though it was 105 that evening, this area was well tolerable. The ambiance is nice, pretty casual. The menu is small, but what is on there was hard to choose from because it all sounded great! We ordered the pretzels and fondue, and the house made chips and onion dip for starters, and both were delicious! I wasn't a fan of the forced valet parking, but it didn't hurt the overall experience. They also have several games on the patio, like Cornhole and foosball. So it seems like if you choose the patio, it's expected you will be partaking of that entertainment, so service gets around to you very slowly. We waited quite a while just to get place our food order, and drinks we ordered took over 10 minutes. I'm assuming there was some short staffing. Otherwise, I enjoyed it overall, and would eat here again.
Every time I've been here I've had a good time. They provide a valet so you never have to worry about parking. Service is most always efficient in friendly.
The server was friendly and accommodating. The drinks were good. The corn ravioli was good but with the baked salmon made it delicious. Pricing is just okay for portion sizes.
Awesome place. Great food, fun atmosphere, music is loud
DAANG! so good! I know they don't really need another review- but I love leaving positive reviews! The food was great and the service was awesome. I took my father here for Fathers Day just this past weekend- and they were training a new bartender... so it took a little bit for out drinks to come- and a polite gesture they brought us a second round on the house! I had the fish n chips and my daughter had the burger, then we got those pretzel fondue bites... yum! As you can imagine, we will eat there again :)
A lot of thought put into recipes. Good food. Great environment for large groups to get together.
Will definitely visit more when we move from Illinois to Arizona. Really enjoy the happy hour appetizers and drinks. Great atmosphere and friendly staff
The atmosphere of this place is great! Have visited Culinary Dropout twice on separate vacations and will continue to make it a priority to eat here every time I visit Arizona. The food is very good with many interesting options to choose from.
Love this place. Good food, fun stuff to do, cute bartenders and staff.
Good food. Probably one of my favorite all time menu items.l, the Korean prime rib cap. It does get loud here so conversation can be a bit tough but not oppressive
Culinary Dropout is fan-freaking-tastic. Some of the best food I have ever eaten and the drinks were insanely good! I would recommend to literally everyone.
Great servic! Our waiter Johnny was the best! Food was outstanding ❤
Great place with a fantastic atmosphere. The place is adjoined to an outside patio area with ping pong tables and corn hole which provide a great time, just need an ID to rent. Food is okay but not worth their prices. Vallet parking here is complementary and yes the restroom doors lead to a unisex washroom but seperated sex bathrooms.
Awesome drinks, service and food! The Smashed Irishman was AMAZING! I wanted a refreshing drink that was whiskey based and I got it. The fresh mint was perfection. Delicious! Also got the chicken gorgonzola sandwich and smoked ribs--also awesome!! Overall, great experience, highly recommend!
My ribs were really good but the coleslaw was dry
it was delicious food. The best Salmon I've ever had. Can't wait to go back.
Great food! First time patron. Very, VERY loud but that's part of the vibe!
Excellent food and service.
Very cool atmosphere with great murrells. Have the pretzel cheese fondu app! So good! Pretzels are soft, warm and like little muffins. Cheese dip is tasty!
Had a great time today. This was my first visit to this location and I really enjoyed myself. My coworkers brag about this restaurant and I now understand why. We stopped in for Happy Hour and sat outside at the fire pit. We ordered 2 drinks and 2appetizers which were quickly served and tasted great. I really love that my nachos had cheese all the way throughout the dish and our wings were served with peppers (yum). The dressing to dip the wings in was also amazing and I can’t wait to visit this place again in the near future.
Very fun place to go for a relaxing bite to eat. We really loved their bread pudding and hot wings! Love that they have a comfortable outside eating area! The wait staff is very friendly but tend to be a little slow, and if you go during the weekend during the nice time of the year you're going to have a long wait.
The food is good, just maybe not everyone's cup of tea.
Great food and hipster environment with loud live music. The pretzel bites with fondue like cheese are fantabulous!
Very popular, there was no way me and my friends could get over to play the games. Food was good though
Acceptable food, ambiance ok. Nothing outstanding
My sister just said, please tell your Google review that the avocado toast and the entire place is amazing. Enough said. But if I were to say more, I would mention the relaxed atmosphere, cool indoor/outdoor combo, games, location, fire pit, etc
This place was great. The staff was super friendly. My drink was unique and the food was delicious. They take reservations which is a bonus. Would definitely recommend to everybody. They also have live music every night. Two thumbs up.
Staff and managers were super fantastic, awesome food as well, p.s. get the turkey!!!
I absolutely love this place. I've been lucky enough to get the same bartender each time I have visited. I don't recall her name but she is great. Hard working, an amazing personality, & stunning. The specialty drinks are expensive but they are also so good. I can hardly wait for the new location to open since it is much closer to home
Perfect spot for any and all ages. Really tasty food.. will be back for sure
Excellent brunch choices. Good service, free valet parking on Sunday, good drinks and pleasant service. Want to go back to try another brunch choice.
The food was to die for! Thesoft pretzel balls with cheese fondue was truly amazing! All the games were really fun too...
Good food and service. Absolutely no parking, you have to use their valet.
The food is great and the atmosphere was greeat as well!
Good food, great atmosphere.. I liked it!
Rustic modern restaurant with a twist on classics such as meatloaf, pretzels and cheese, steak tacos and other classic American meals. My table ordered pink margaritas and their mule. The second round of drinks we all got the mule. The margarita was good but the mule was better. We later ordered CD’s wings, salmon entree , and shrimp entree. The wings were too modern. The salmon was excellent especially paired with black rice. The shrimp entree was composed of shrimp, brocollini, other veggies and a pesto cheese sauce. This was also very good. Overall, CD was a last resort option to the desolate Scottsdale area on Fourth of July. We all were happy Culinary Dropout was open and able to provide us a good meal with good ambiance. I am looking forward to returning at night.
Fun Place! Good atmosphere & staff is attentive taking care of your order quickly and correctly. We hold at least 1 company function there yearly.
Cool place to get some drinks with your friends with multiple gaming activities to keep you busy. I really like the open spacing and layout. Not really a fan of their food so I don't really eat at Culimary Dropout. Instead I opt to eat in one of the other smaller restaurants sharing space with them. The mix drink selection is super tasty though.
If you're looking to try something delicious and flavorful then Culinary Dropout is the place. Awesome food, especially the biscuit that come with the fried chicken dish. Very friendly staff, as well. I also recommend the bbq pork belly nachos! They were soooooo good!
Great atmosphere and love the music. Really good cocktails. I normally get the fried chicken but tried the pork belly nachos and couldn't have been more disappointed. Covered in process stadium style cheese with very little fresh tomatoes or olives. The pork belly was bland. Also had a steak salad with very little steak and drowned in dressing. The brussel sprouts while tasty, were over cooked.
Culinary Dropout has an incredible menu and has awesome food. So many tasty options for you to choose from. I love the fried chicken. I have had it multiple times and it never disappoints. The pretzels and cheese dip are incredible as well for an appetizer.
The food there was awesome. I had the Korean BBQ ribeye and we tried a bunch of their appetizers. The food was good but of course for that you pay a little more than you might expect. It was worth it.
Great food, even better beer.
Waiter was informative and helpful, enjoyable atmosphere
Incredible food with a modern twist on some classics. Patio is cozy too.
Good food. I like the open atmosphere.
Server Jaime Lee was exceptional and their build your own charcuterie boards are delicious. We came in to celebrate our anniversary and Jaime Lee went out of her way to make our occasion special with a full size complementary dessert to share! (By the way, The bread pudding we had to share was wonderful too)! If you enjoy Shandy's, their Drunken Panda is wonderful; super crisp and refreshing!
Excellent tasting food, however no warning on the menu of MSG or MSG like additives. When I went to sleep a couple hours later I had full on MSG reaction and felt horrible the entire next day. I will never go back.
The food quality is superb, the environment is fun, the staff is great. You get what you pay for here in a good way!
Imagine, instead of having to find some frat party in Tempe in order to play drink and play corn hole, you can relive your college game day fantasies, supplemented with craft food and drink. But, wait! You don't have to imagine because that's exactly what Culinary Dropout, the last restaurant standing at The Yard in Phoenix is. Their patio is probably about twice as big as the dining room and complete with foosball, bags, and ping pong. While you're playing, you can also order from a menu that is simultaneously intriguing and familiar, keeping the buzz going with a limited but round selection of beers as well as cocktails that please.
Food was good service was good. until 5 minutes after the food was served we were told that our table was needed and we can take our food outside party of 10 if you want really bad service ask for Hunter
This is one of my favorite spots in Scottsdale. So much so that we went here 2x during the Fourth of July weekend. Amazing, courteous and attentive service. The ladies were nice and the drinks were excellent. We ordered the calamansi drink, the mule and dirty martini.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. The fried chicken is really good. And the biscuits are probably the best I’ve ever had.
Very lively place on a Friday night, but still not to hard to find a seat. Didn't have to wait for a corn hole and ping pong. Live music playing. And of course the pretzels we're delicious.
Really friendly staff and excellent food. Personally I really appreciated the atmosphere of the whole place. Chandeliers and concert posters. I don't know why, but I love it.
Noisy, service scattered..not enough waiters although nice people. Good food.
Great place and amazing food!! Cant go wrong here with the steak salad and they got helpful and attentative staff. As a result, its a popular location so be prepared to wait a little. They do offer a text based wait system to let you know when they are ready to set you. If you got a 2 to 3 person group, better to wait by the bar and score some spots. Overall, recommend it if you are willing to brave the Scottsdale area.
The staff wears some skimpy outfits not family appropriate, but the food is really good and the place is fun. We'll be back.
Food was good and a lot of fun games like ping pong, cornhole/bags to play. Happy hour specials. Some nights appear to have live bands. Bathroom sink weirdly peeks into opposite side.
A trendy spot with excellent food. I had the chopped chicken salad, which was flavorful and filling, and made me feel good about not having one of the less healthy options. Popular spot for young professionals at lunch. Huge outdoor eating area with mist cooling. Recommended.
Good place for the food.. great crowd.. nice service... Interesting find
Bad service in most of my visits. Halfway decent food. If you hate tipping and don't really care about the food, you'll have a good time. Good place for a large loud group. Relatively kid friendly for having a bar right in the middle of the place.
Fantastic food and tons of entertainment alternatives. Would have give 5 stars, but just too dark in the bags and ping pong area after dusk. Would definitely recommend for anyone thinking about coming out.
Great spot to eat at! I would recommend to anyone visiting from out of town! The food is great and well worth the price. The pretzel bites with provolone fondue and the Buttermilk Pie are F A N T A S T I C. The only concern I have is how thin they stretch the staff. Our waitress was very friendly and prompt, but you can tell that all the servers are too over utilized.
Sweet mother of google reviews. They get five stars based SOLELY on their soft pretzel appetizer. Literally everything is fantastic on their menu and it’s a great open space. Decent happy hour (they probably don’t have to discount all that much) but it’s a guaranteed stop for me every time I’m in Tempe.
The drinks are so good besides that the pretzel are super good I can say I would recommend this place
Great food and drinks and very friendly and helpful staff. Cool vibe inside too, would definitely go back.
Great service, would have given 5 stars if I didn’t remind them to bring out my dessert. Overall, great location and great experience. Will return again in the near future.
This is my favorite restaurant to go to! It tends to be the main hangout spot for my friends and I. They make an amazing meat loaf, the ribs fall right off the bone, and the garlic bread is to die for. I love their appetizers, especially the deviled eggs, and the sherry glazed beats and goat cheese. The beemster is their best cheese by far! They also have games to play and yummy beverages!
Delicious apps, awesome vegan curry, and a ton of drinks and beer on tap. This is such a fun place to sit outside, play some yard games, and enjoy yourself!
Food is tasty, but its not very healthy (bar food). Drinks are great and has a fun outdoor atmosphere with games. Great for large groups of people to meet for happy hour.
Nice ambience, service..food good not delicious.
Between the restaurant and 'the yard', this place is massive! And peak hours, it is packed! Even with that kind of crowd, they provide attentive service. Great ambiance; drink choices were good; food was delicious! Dessert menu had only 3 items though.
Great food. Wonderful service. Open floor was nice. Drinks were okay.
Really, really cool place. We came in from out of town a luckily found this gem. Cool drinks, great food, awesome ambiance. If we ever come back into town, we will seek this place out again.
Great name for a terrific restaurant; fun atmosphere with live musical entertainment; back area with bar and space for several type games (bouche ball). Server (Dane) was knowledgeable about varied food and drink menu and offered suggestions. There were 11 of us for a graduation celebration; drinks were soothing, food was delicious and came hot-plates came at the same time. Many travelers stopped in with luggage that was set aside. Very accommodating, only service animals allowed .
Good food. The atmosphere is fun and entertaining. The is live music in the evening. There is a section where you play games like ping pong tables and four cornhole bean bag game set. The servers were friendly and attentive to our large group. Reservations for tables are strongly recommended. The vibe is spacious and the people are sociable.
With the word culinary in it I expected good, clever , fresh food, not salads with ashey vegetables obviously grabbed out of a bag of preprocessed products, at least rinse the veggies you are trying to pass of as freshly prepared
This place was so cute and hip! I got 3 'tapas' that came together to make 1 appetizer plate. I thought this was very fun! And ordered from their happy hour menu, totally delicious.
They had valet parking. They parked my car. Then I got hand cut fries
the way the place is decorated, and the cozy atmosphere with The food is phenomenal
Amazing food,awesome service. Highly recommend.
Great bar. College student atmosphere. The food is surprisingly good.
What a great place to eat and drink.... definitely a must go. All food is scratch prepared.
Good selection of beer and spirits.. food is good and the atmosphere is excellent
Love this place! Great food and atmosphere! Love hanging out by the fire pits. The Korean Brussels Sprouts and the Pretzel Bites with Cheese Fondue are both amazing! The small plates are perfect if you just want to nibble a little, but the great thing is you can order a variety if you're hungry and try several things on the menu for a great price. Good variety of craft beer, as well.
I went with my wife a couple weeks ago and had their custom cheese board and got insanely sick. We thought maybe the deviled eggs were old or something but it wrecked our whole weekend. So tonight, I go there with my coworkers to a happy hour event and order completely different things and low and behold, sick again. I will NEVER eat here again.
We loved the open space concept- Large dining areas lit by overhead party lights. They were very busy because of 2 events locally, spring training and the Aloha Festival, but the experience was enjoyable. Varied food menu, Delicious!
Had the Turkey pastrami and it was good. Hard to enjoy this place in the heat of the day though.
Great place to have drinks and the appetizers are wonderful. The service great. We only had time for a quick bite but I Highly recommend
Food was bomb! Staff was bomb...music please bring it down a notch so staff can hear us! And please choose more modern music. Grunge is great but all night? Even the staff was complaining about the same set this band played every friday! Gulp. Other wise nice joint!
Great location. I loved the indoor/outdoor feel of the venue. Amazing unique brunch items. Cocktails were also great!!
It really wants to he a hip hangout, but its like my grandpas basement with better ambiance. Nothing special. Decent food. Overpriced drinks. Its your basic Phoenix "almost, but not quite" places that seems to pass as exceptional if you don't know any better.
Out of town visitors were staying nearby and we were looking for a great place for dinner. This place was not only our first choice, but we loved it so much we went back the next night. Everyone agreed the mood of the place, the decor and the food were all absolutely outstanding. A new favorite I will be returning to.
Wow. In one word, this place is FANTASTIC, in every way. The service is impeccable - the bartenders were just great, attentive, quick, genuine, nice, and gave recommendations (even though they were SLAMMED with their guests and making all of the drinks for the whole joint). The food was delish. So creative, healthy interesting dishes, great smoked meats, good salads... yum. The drinks were awesome! I was turned onto the between you and me cocktail - so good!!! Now I drink something like that when I go out! We were in Scottsdale for 3 nights and we went here for dinner twice! My husband is a chef, we are super foodie people from CA and we LOVED this spot. The first night we had dinner at the bar and there was live music - a nice duo, guys who covered some cool songs, great sound, it was classy. The noise level was perfect. The ambiance was comfortable, the place was interestingly decorated too - different textures with the things on the wall, some wood, the lounge seating, the chalkboard wall/walk-in fridge, the inside/outside wrap around bar and slightly open kitchen. What a killer spot. They are jam packed all the time, it is worth the weight. I loved the kale Cesar salad and the vegan curry. My hubby tried the French dip and loved it. We also ended up trying the pretzel bites with fondue cheese because well, duh. We saw plates and plates of these going out when were were there so we decided when we were with friends to splurge.
The building was beautiful, the ambiance and general set up was very modern, hip, clean. An industrial farm house vibe. The bathrooms were unique with big mirrors and heavy stall doors. I was very impressed with the interior design but over all the food left much to be desired. I tried the chicken club and fries. Presentation was typical. Chicken was well seasoned but the sandwich was pretty dry. And just didn't leave me with that "wow" factor. But just for the ambiance alone I would come back maybe for appetizers and cocktails.
Food was good, hosts were very communicative and entertaining . Establish was clean just had problems trying to do my son's graduation here. For a family even of half young adults 18 age range under 20 people they wanted me to sign a beverage contract of $800 . Even though I seen other large groups in the vicinity who i even asked if they did the contract that was being pushed on me, they never were asked about it. So if you dont plan ahead and just show up you can bring large groups with full menu , if you plan ahead be ready to pay $40 a person per contract with a much smaller menu. Trying to be nice so one last thought , should have been 1 star but the hostess was very nice and informative on the weekday i showed up in person which is much more than the person in charge of group planning,
I found a an animal walking around my coleslaw. I believe it was a small roach and I showed it to the waiter and he didn’t even ask to bring the manager. He asked to bring me another one but I said no since it would come from the same batch that clearly had roaches. Also, I ordered a Caesar salad with dressing on side and I only got lettuce in a bowl. No croutons, no cheese. Unless this is is new thing in AZ, I have never seen a Caesar sald with ONLY lettuce.
Another amazing discovery....... from the front door to the exit was a pleasurable time...attentive, but not hovering waitstaff. Even though it was busy, we were taken care of and had a good time.
This place was very cool. A long wait to get a table where you could order food from the full menu. But waiting was ok in the picnic table area. Once we sat down, we had great service and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was fun and easy.
We had the butternut squash ravioli, vegan curry, and trout. It was all very flavorful and delicious but the butternut squash was the most memorable. The prices were very reasonable (sangria was $4). We sat outside and it was very comfortable, music and service were good. Highly recommend!
The food was great and the servers were incredibly beautiful.
Delicious as always! We've been to numerous Sam Fox restaurants and they are all amazing. The Salmon was cooked to perfection and the steak tacos were delicious. We tried the pretzel and cheese fondue to start; highly recommend. Decent prices for the area and the food quality. Chic atmosphere as well.
The staff was friendly and funny thebwhile night! The pretzel balls with cheese appetizer was worth the trip. Good beer and lots of fun yard games.
Came here for a work luncheon and was not disappointed at all. The pretzels with fondue are amazing and the pork nachos were delicious! I chose the turkey pastrami sandwich and it was really good and was just enough without making me overly full. Service was also very good and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. I will definitely be coming back.
Very relaxed and cool place to hang out and enjoy food and a cocktail
My first time there. Food, service, atmosphere, music and drinks was bomb. I really enjoyed it. It was nice. Will definitely be back.
Our server Brittany was a delight. The food was great and my family and I were really glad we choose this venue to meet up and reminisce.
Good food and service. Especially for being new year's eve. I've been to a bunch of places on new year's eve and they just tank the entire night. These guys nailed it. Busy and on point makes for a fun night.
Heads up: reservations any day of the week would be highly beneficial. This place looks like it offers a lot and does well. Can't wait for the opportunity to actually go in. There was a really long wait so I was unable to enjoy. Also, Uber/Lyft here. Valet is essentially mandatory since there's no street parking. Rating 5 stars as to not bring down their rating.
Great service and a welcoming atmosphere. The ribs and ravioli were delicious.
It was amazing. The steak was exquisite in the pretzel fondue was heavenly. The bathrooms are a little weird and also the fries were pretty salty. Best to get reservations also the live music was interesting. Also don't forget cash because they have valet parking. But that steak was so amazing.
Poor service, over priced. We were sat and had to wait 15 Mon to get menus, total time there was aprox 2 hours, server stopped by 3 times total.
Heard great things about this place.. just never had that night that made sense. We happened to be near here and just went for it. The apps were good, meal was good and our server was for the most part attentive. We were enjoying people watching for the night and watching others play cornhole and ping pong. Saw quite a few large groups coming and all being accommodated. Looking forward to coming with our couples crew soon! Potato chips were delish!
Was recommended to go here while visiting. Loved the atmosphere, games, seating. Food was delicious and drinks were on point.
By far, the best grilled chicken club I ever had. Great place!
Lots of fun. Great happy hour and staff is always great.
I had a less than ideal experience earlier today so I filed a complaint online. I received a call from the GM less than 15 minutes later and he apologized personaly for the mistake. They truly care about the guest experience. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Had a great time, nice atmosphere, the waiter was fantastic, the food was really good. Only downfall is the prices of the drinks and how small they are. But was a good time.
Great atmosphere for work get together or bunch of friends
FUN!!! Tons of games and awesome atmosphere! The pierogis are legit out of this world. The drinks are outstanding. I definetly recommend this place to everyone.
Very energetic atmosphere and the ribs were delicious. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Never disappointed. Menu might need revamping, but the food is still excellent with good execution. Service always could improve a tad.
Amazing atmosphere, food and drinks! We ordered the tuna salad and the fried chicken. For drinks we tried the pomegranate mule and prickly pear margarita and they were both delicious! Also get the banana bread dessert! Also this place is connected to The Yard, where it has lots of seatings and games! They also do complimentary valet parking! Highly recommend! Great place with large group of people!
Service was slow. We had a few different people on different checks. Our waitress went around the table taking orders and then walked away without taking my order. I had to go find her to give her my order. When the food came out the fries looked like someone had already chewed on them and they were soggy. When I was finished and asked her for my check it took her 30 minutes to bring it to me.
I was craving a roast beef dip and since they no longer have them at the Vig we came here. After being seated we waited about 10 minutes before being acknowledged. A guy came by and said he'd find out who or waiter was. Then another guy came and shoved if we'd been served yet... we told him no and then he said "i guess im your waiter then". I ordered my beef dip which was good but thought it could've used some more meat as it was a little light. The fries were a bunch of small pieces under the top and it became a pain to eat. They did give us a replacement side of fries but they were so greasy we skipped. They needed to shake the fry basket to get the grease out but I saw them just dump it into the serving bowl from the fryer which retained a lot of the fry oil. Why serve the bottom of the bag anyway? The first batch wasn't so greasy, just tiny bits. The place had live music which was nice. The drinks are good and it's a good atmosphere.
Great atmosphere and Food. Would rate 5 stars the the waiter was a little odd.
Had bruschetta with egg, salmon, and avocado. It was delicious!!
This place is a lot of fun. I'm only giving it four stars because I didn't try the food and only had one drink but I enjoyed the games we played and the environment.
I really loved this place. We started with the bread with the cheese sauce....I forget what they called it but it's one of the starters and if recommend those to anyone they were fabulous. I had the fish and chips, which were great! Those in our group also ordered some of the lunch salads and some of the sandwiches m the good and the ambiance was fabulous. Quick and friendly service. They went out of their way to accommodate us. Five stars!
So it was our second time here in ten days. My son loves their pretzel and fondue so we went for his graduation. The service was better this time around but drinks seem to be slow all the time (I mean like snail pace). The food was good if you stick to the bar food, meaning burgers, sandwiches and anything fried. The service is mediocre and staff is more entertaining then attractive.
Great venue. I was very impressed with the staff and how clean the venue was and how well prepared they were for the very early group event
It was a pleasure visiting the culinary dropout, pretty simple menu, not alot of choices. Waiter was on point, before I got comfortable at my table, he was greeting us. I love that, great atmosphere, had a simple salad, not enough dressing for me. Manager was very kind. Kudos to you.
Excellent atmosphere and great food! Many food items are very unique and perfectly presented...not to mention that each food item that I tried far surpassed my expectations for flavor and presentation. The furniture/decor is very comfortable and classy, and the staff members are amazingly professional and courteous. I WILL be returning!
Amazing atmosphere and our waitress was very friendly.
What a great experience! We had a 2 hour lunch and enjoyed every minute. The goat cheese and beets were fabulous as was the prickly pear beer. Will definitely be back.
Culinary Droupout is amazing. Go for happy hour!!! Snacks and drinks for cheap.
Great atmosphere with outdoor fire pits, ping pong or just regular seating. Food and drinks are a little pricey but are creative and pretty tasty. Fun place to hang out and chill
Great place for drinks, food, and fun. Service was excellent! Next time I am in Phoenix I will go back.
Really good food. Fun atmosphere. Really pricy tho.
Best place ever!!! The staff is awesome and the food never disappoints.
Had the fish and chips, they were delicious. Wife had steak tacos and really enjoyed them. Waitress was very nice and attentive. They also gave us good tips of where to go to buy tourist style souvenirs. All around a great experience.
I like culinary dropout. Needs better food selection though. Great place for happy hour, but there's normally an hour wait. Cool, fun spot.
Really liked the food, it was loud (but its that type of place), the musician that played while we were there did some great covers. We brought our baby in, everything went well, but if your kid is sensitive to noise because you baby them too much, you should not take them.
Everything I have had here has been amazing. I highly recommend this place. Great service and amazing food.
This place used to be cool. It's not cool waiting for drinks or your food. Also, they charged me for Soda Water and didn't tell me. If it came out of a bottle I'd pay but no. She said, lot's of places charge for "club soda" with an attitude. I told her, next time tell the person and I also don't need her attitude. I would have happily ordered a tea or a diet coke. I won't be going back on my own accord. Customer lost. Steak salad was subpar for $17 with very little steak. I should have ordered a burger. Other person in my party didn't like their wings. Plenty of other options on this same street.
I've been here a few times now and so I feel like I have a good feel for the place. The food is okay, nothing special. Definitely pricey for what you get but this is Downtown Phoenix. Atmosphere is very lively, it's usually crowded and a popular place for 20s-30s. Parking is extremely limited and valet is offered but I'd rather park my own car. The food takes a long time due to how crowded it is and the service is fine. Overall, this place is just okay and I wouldn't generally pick it if it were my choice.
Each time I have gone to Culinary Dropout it has gotten progressively worse. It's like they bank on people getting drunk and not paying attention to the horrible service and food they serve here. The bartender took my friend's order for the butternut squash ravioli, he then walked away without even asking me if I was going to order. As he is putting in the ravioli, I flag him down to order the roasted salmon. A $23 plate that stated it came with cauliflower and snap peas; there was evidence of neither. The piece of salmon I received was a joke. I ate it in 4 bites (really). I mention this all to the the bartender who acts like he is to busy to care. When my friend's ravioli finally comes out (after I finished my meal), its is swimming in a soup of sauce. Never has it come this way, usually at most its a creamy sauce drizzled over the ravioli. Totally rushed, and no attention to detail. This place has such potential if they implemented some quality control, but they don't care, which is evident to the multiple times I try to give this place the benefit of the doubt and they let me down more each time.
Wow! This place was awesome!! Food, service and atmosphere they had it all.
My favorite place for a low key fun night. Lots of games, drinks, music. Highly recommend the meatloaf, its the best I've had in my entire life: incredible
Great atmosphere, great food. Play a game of Cornhole it Mega Jenga. Good times had by all.
The servers here are always friendly and very knowledgeable. Been here several times - once with kids. Every meal I've had has been delicious and it's a great environment for kids (before 8:00). This is a "must visit" for me every time I'm in Phoenix!
You have to valet or find non-existent street parking to eat here. Food was pretty decent, lots of games for the outside portion, but service was slow. Took somewhere between 15-20 minutes to get the check to us.
Great food and drinks. Meatloaf was spectacular.
Came with a group for dinner and drinks. Food and drinks were excellent. Atmosphere was fun. Be careful with the pretzels with cheese... They are round and one rolled off my plate and onto my shirt
The Culinary Dropout is always a fun place and the Yard is no exception. Big place with great shade and fantastic ambiance. The menu has something for everyone with a nice selection for the charcuterie. The happy hour meatloaf sandwich is really better than it sounds and worth a try. Service is always friendly.
Amazing restaurant and atsmosphe! A must try is the pretzel fondue! Love the fried chicken too! Fantastic service and great staff!
The house made chips and onion dip was delicious! It's not something you see on a menu very often, but it's always a good choice for a barbeque. It was neat to get it on an elevated level at a restaurant.
Great atmosphere for some drinks and playing a little corn home with the freinds. Menu is simple and food is good
Great atmosphere. Energy is exhilarating! Games area is fun for anyone. The food was exceptional and the servers were attentive. Will be back often.
I didn't eat but the atmosphere and drink service was awesome
Delicious food, great atmosphere, good service, amazing happy hour specials
The food was very good service was fast. Reasonably mid-price meals anywhere from $10 to $16 specialty drinks were a little stiff at $12 but I think that's normal just about anywhere. Overall a great experience. If it's summer and your on the patio be prepared to sweat. inside was very cool and comfortable. a pretty loud environment with lots of hard surfaces, but that's also typical for these kinds of places. Over all give it a shot I don't think of you will be unhappy.
Big, airy dining area, fun servers, great food and a neat vibe.
Yummy food. Casual and relaxing! Can't wait to go again!
We had the best service I have had in a long time. Our waiter Rio was awesome. We ordered from the Happy Hour menu and everything was great♡
Whiskey drinkers, try the DROP OUT WHISKEY for a smooth, sweet drink! Vanilla bean, cinnamon and sugar Jameson with Pepsi! The best! For an appetizer, nachos are delish!
The food is very creative yet comforting. Everything is always top notch and I've never had anything i didn't like. The atmosphere is fun but not overwhelming or too loud and the service is always attentive and courteous. I could make a meal out of the antipasto board.
Great service, great food, and great drink options. Fun for dinner or to grab drinks and play cornhole.
This place was the bomb! The food was freaking out of control good. The atmosphere was even better. I would highly recommend this spot for drinks and food. This is a must!!!
A favorite place! Awesome drinks, great food & menu, amazing service. Never disappointed. Any occasion, any day!
We stopped at the Culinary Dropout for lunch while vacationing in the area. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but once inside, found this to be well worth the visit. Great atmosphere and menu and the food was outstanding and not overly priced. Would certainly recommend this location to others.
The BEST fried chicken I've ever had in my life! I'll definitely be returning for more! The staff is super friendly and and they have live music too!
Go for the food, go for the ambiance, just go. Great experience.
First time visiting and my husband and I were pleased. This place has some amazing food, drinks, and stellar customer service. I had fish and chips. My husband had fried chicken meal. Everything was delicious! Richard our waiter was super helpful. This place is a must if you ever visit Arizona!
Wow. This place is huge, and fills up fast. Get here right early for happy hour and then enjoy the fresh made to order appetizers and main courses. The kitchen is amazing. All glass so if you like to watch chefs in action, you'll be entertained for hours. This is a popular hangout, enjoy.
Great food, ambiance & service at all times! Some incredible desserts to top off a great meal..
Pretzel knots with cheese sauce. Also, their prime rib sandwich is good.
We stopped at the Culinary Dropout for lunch while vacationing in the area. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but once inside, found this to be well worth the visit. Great atmosphere and menu and the food was outstanding and not overly priced. Would certainly recommend this location to others.
Ive heard their name before and was expecting amazing taste or a more interesting menu. The food was ok but it wasnt anything amazing for the price we paid
A fun entertaining atmosphere with good food and service. A little on the pricey side.
We stopped at the Culinary Dropout for lunch while vacationing in the area. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but once inside, found this to be well worth the visit. Great atmosphere and menu and the food was outstanding and not overly priced. Would certainly recommend this location to others.
Prices were good, food was exceptional. For a better breakdown on prices, see my review on one of the other locations. I'm too lazy to do that more than once. Perfect spot for day drinking ... Not that I do that.
At first look the place resembles an old warehouse. Arrived on a Tuesday night around 7 pm, and place was pretty busy. Waited 15 minutes for a table, but there was some open seating out on the patio. (too hot for me) . Staff was great. Waitress was very prompt, and took good care of us. Menu was very small, but had a wide range of choices. Food was good, Atmosphere was "bar like", but there were patrons from business people to the young crowd. Food was priced good for the quality and quantity. I will return return to this spot next time I'm in town.
They have really great food here and a nice atmosphere. We were seated outside in summer with no misting system, literally sitting in our own sweat. Plenty of seats inside but told they were not available. Those seats were still empty when we left..
From a very pleasant phone call to set up a reservation when Open Table told us there was nothing, to a great server styling himself as Han Solo, this was a most pleasant family meal. Just off Mill Ave. Lots of parking when we arrived and a very fun industrial type building with lists of sports in the TV and several activity options, we settled into a table for 8. Our table was far from the only one with a baby but I net my parents at 90/91 were a rarity. The 5 year old appreciates the kid’s menu. The food selections for the rest of us were great. The sole vegetarian was not the only one to choose a non-meat option, of which there were several appealing choices. The rest of us ordered according to taste. The provolone and soft pretzel fondue was a good starter. Food came at the same time and was hot and delicious. I would order my 36 hour ribs again. Service was prompt and present when needed without being intrusive. Nothing that even got us thinking about commenting on disappointing moment. Well done. Looking forward to the Gilbert location opening too.
I don’t get why people are in love with this place. The food is just ok and it’s extremely overpriced. The portion sizes are so small and not fit for a grown man who is hungry. I ordered 3 things and the bill was like 35 bucks, absolutely ridiculous. I can see why people would want to grab a drink here but still, just ok food that’s overpriced is not a good combo. Paying $17 plus taxes for 3 small steak tacos in Arizona should be a crime.
Hipster vibe. Classic, tasty American food. Bat + Indoor and outdoor seating. We ate dinner outside in 97 degree Sept. but it was comfortable with the misters. Very unique cocktails. Our server Taylor was great! Looking forward to eating there again soon.
We love this place! Such a fun lively vive on the weekend evenings. The place was pretty full on a Saturday night, but we found couch and bar seating at 8pm. The Yard area is full of corn hole and ping pong games and on colder nights the fire pits are burning. Jon and Kaitlyn took care of us and were a lot of fun! We took Jon's recommendations of a Board app of roasted cauliflower, cinnamon glazed bread, fresh mozzarella and sweet golden raisins; it was so good! And we also loved the Ahi tuna salad. Mick the manager stopped by and we told him how much fun we were having. Thanks Jon, Kaitlyn and Mick.
What a nice place! The food and drinks are delicious and the place is beautiful. Can be a little pricey compared with another restaurants but is totally worth it. Very modern American concept.
Great space. Great fun. Food is above average. I don’t think the steak tacos are worth it for $17 though.
This place is where it's at. You want good food, Check! Live music, Check! Good atmosphere, Check! Personally I love the layout, as you come in you get a shot of the kitchen where it all goes down. Did I mention that is close to A.S.U. stadium!
We made reservations so we got our table without having to wait. It was a pretty busy place, but the atmosphere and energy was awesome!!! Our server was fantastic....very prompt, informative, and attentive. Our table was a bit wobbly, and she, and every other server who cane buy to drop off food, would keep adjusting it so it would stay still. The apps were amazing....we had Brussels, pretzels, and the bread. We ordered the chicken for the main entree, but it was so-so, in my opinion. We were so impressed that we ordered lunch ‘to-go’ the next day!
Great restaurant. Delicious food. Very busy place.
We had my sister's graduation party here and it won't be the last party we have here either. The food was awesome, the ambiance was perfect and the service was 5 star! We rented out 4 booths in the lounge area and our party service included food and drinks. WE LOVED IT ALL. Servers were Camille and Emily was our servers and they were great. Food and drinks was served on time and timely.
Absolutely wonderful! Great food, staff, and atmosphere. My mom has an onion allergy and the chef was kind enough to make a brunch item at lunch because she could eat it. It's her birthday, and knowing that she had one allergy, the waiter took the care to choose a gluten-free dessert for her in case she had an allergy to gluten as well (she does). The amount of care and forethought the staff has is stupendous and matched only by the quality of their delicious food.
Trendy. Great food. Amazing friendly service. Do it
Went here for light but unique food. Was NOT disappointed! Our appetizers were: sherry glazed beets with goats cheese, gochujang cauliflower and crusty bread & olive oil. All were spot on delicious! The crusty bread there is to die for! Dinner, I had the rainbow trout with broccolini and my son had sweet corn ravioli. My trout was perfectly seasoned and baked. My son loved the ravioli. I tasted his and it was really tasty. I had unsweetened iced tea which was very well made and he had a whiskey old fashioned. All in all, a great place for foodies. The place is huge with massive couches, tables ping pong tables. Numerous rooms and a big bar. Loved ❤️ the ambiance. Pricing about $$-$$$ but well worth it. Next visit, we’ll be here! Our server was Captain Jack Sparrow. He was on his game and animated.
This is a fun restaurant! It has great service & delicious food! Our grandchildren really enjoy going, too!
Awesome service. Awesome ambiance. Fun menu with great food!
Great atmosphere, okay food but the vibe is just amazing. Plus free valet which is nice.
Long wait didn't get all our order had to leave to go to appointment after 2 hours . Still didn't eat cause they lost our order second go around
Food was delicious, had yummy burrito. Service and atmosphere fun.
Awesome service. GREAT beer selection and their happy hour specials were good. Their pretzel buns and fondue was soooooo good! Definitely will be visiting next trip to AZ!
Honestly I usually love this place. This time the fried chicken was way way over cooked. My ravioli was so sweet it was hard to take. The pork belly nachos were lite on the pork belly and the chip were super thin. Fake cheese? And the waiter was on break. I don't know, it just made me sad.
Great drink & tap selection. Delicious food with a small menu. Pretzel balls with fondue app is a must try. The big draw of this place is the inside/outside atmosphere that boasts 6 beanbag pits, foosball, shuffleboard, and several pingpong tables (all free). It's great for a party, family, or just some buds after work. Oh, and bras are clearly optional...
OMG. The best food in AZ. Prove me wrong!
Very cool ambience with a good selection of beers and live music on certain nights. Cozy lounge with TVs, space heaters, Cornhole, Ping Pong, photo kiosks, and couches. Good food, although expensive for sure: $13 Pork Belly nachos, but they are really good. Cool place for groups of 4-12 adults. Not for kids. Complimentary Valet.
It was an amazing place to go to for happy hour. I love it
Atmosphere was nice, food and service were below average. The name says it all, culinary dropouts! Tasted like a culinary school dropout was cooking. We actually went for dinner after we left. Good thing there are many many other choices nearby.
Great atmosphere and decent food. Held a staff dinner here for the office and we all had a wonderful time. Will definitely recommend visit again.
Good burgers, beer, and live music. Been to this venue twice and it’s a solid spot.
Love the atmosphere. Our waitress was good, food was good. My only complaint is that our dinner order took almost an hour to come out and they ran out of bread at 8 p.m.
Loved it. First great meal in Phoenix. Great service and food. Had the delicious butternut squash ravioli and buttermilk pie for dessert. SO good! Grab a spot at the bar. Had excellent drinks, too. Worth going back.
ALTERNATIVE CROWD ALERT!!!! This is more of a complex then just one place. There are about two restaurants packed in here and about three bars. This place has a grand patio where you can play bar games and there is plenty of seating. You can also bring your bike here. This place caters to a younger and hip crowd.
Can you say amazing food, amazing staff, amazing crowd and so much fun all in one word? Nope, takes 2. Culinary Dropout.
Always a fun time. Went on a Tuesday, great crowd, found a seat at the bar fairly quickly. Cocktails delish and food fab!!
Food is awesome, most of the time...sweet corn ravioli with prusuito is awesome....servers are mediocre
What a great place! Yummy food. Friendly staff. Games to play. Unique location. Can't wait for my next visit!
The goat cheese and beets are awesome!! Wish they were a bigger plate, but they are worth a try. Nice choice of drinks, nice environment. Had wonderful service. Not terribly priced either considering they have real food.
Love the atmosphere & the salmon dish was D.E.L.I.S.H
Fun atmosphere! Good food, surprisingly not expensive for a restaurant (comparable to a BJ's). Games are free & fun. Live music is good! Commentary valets. Can tip them through an app.
Friendly staff, fast service. Pesto scrimp ok..
Great atmosphere! Excellent food! Love the patio.
I just wasn't impressed with this restaurant. It was OK. Limited menu. I had fish and chips. Batter coated deep fried fish without flavor and ordinary fries. Minimal quantity of food when you consider the price. I think it is really a bar and bar food place that shines in the evening but looses it's luster at lunch and dinner time.
Great food. Amazing place for playing games, kids fun.
The food was fantastic. Our party of 8 raved about every entree...thanks for a wonderful evening.
It was fun, and food was fine...just too noisy for us to meet as planned.
are you people kidding me?? the food here is atrocious and so is customer service. the waiters are beyond mongs and have no idea what's even on their own menu. been here twice, figured I'd give it a shot the second time. was even worse than the first. we sat at the bar and between 3 bartenders nobody even asked us if we wanted to order something, especially when there were only 4 other customers at the bar, so it wasn't even busy by any standard. had to literally flag the guy down multiple times to get an order in, and with an attitude like we inconvenienced him. also, everyone here looks like an Instagram reenactment festival - hipsterness to the max. I'll spend my money elsewhere, thanks
Excellent service, excellent food. I had one of their new dishes... corn ravioli with asparagus and I have to admit...I don’t really care for asparagus but this dish was sooooo good. I will definitely order this again! We also had the mashed potatoes and pork belly nachos and they were very good as well, however, the fried chicken was just ok.
A bit over trendy and slightly pricey for what you get. Cool spot and fun though.
If you like salt, the food might be too salty
Our food was great. Also, I really enjoyed the vibe of the place. Make sure to try the Brussels.
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner last night at Culinary Dropout in Scottsdale. We were seated in the corner by the Bob Marley mural - the perfect spot for conversing comfortably side-by-side while enjoying a great view of the loud and lively restaurant. Our server was excellent - friendly, helpful, but nonintrusive. We really liked the soft pretzel appetizer despite the provolone fondue's slight processed-cheese flavor. It was a chilly night, and the generous serving of salty, yeasty pretzel rolls and warm fondue = comfort food goodness. Hubby couldn't finish his large platter of 36-hour pork ribs (messy but tasty), but I scooped up every last bite of the butternut squash ravioli (loved the smoky flavor of the veggies). Sadly, we were too full for dessert. We'll be back!
We love Culinary Dropout’s Happy Hour and have been here several times for it. The salads, pork belly nachos, and soft pretzels with provolone fondue are all fabulous. There’s convenient underground parking (with plenty of spaces) since the location is surrounded by other businesses and Fashion Square. The outdoor seating isn’t my favorite since it’s RIGHT next to Camelback, and traffic is usually abundant. Also, we usually make a reservation for this place since there isn’t a ton of seating, and it gets busy around 5-6p and beyond.
We had a great time here tonight. The Culinary Dropout has a great trendy vibe and the food was fabulous. We had a group of six and the table was cozy enough that we could all chat and hear each other. The only drawbacks were that it took a fair amount of time to get a table even though we had a reservation and the restaurant can get quite noisy because of the way the tables are set up.
Fun place to hangout and enjoy good food, great vibe and music.
Okay...decent price/value but food was okay (breakfast burrito) and service was a bit slow
Great atmosphere! Friendly staff!!! Awesome servers! Food was good but fish and chips came out luke warm....overall I loved it! Will return!!!
LOVED the pretzels and the butternut squash ravioli was fantastic! The club sandwich and fish fry was also great according to my party. A must go if local or a visitor! Amazing vibe and service.
Below average fried chicken, was in the fryer too long and had a burnt flavor. And worst fish and chips ever, batter was tough and chewy. Not sure why this place is so popular, it’s food is way over-rated. Chef Ramsey would go insane. Seriously, better fried chicken at Fry’s grocery store and better fish and chips at Red Robin. Don’t let the trendy exterior take your money.
Everything about this place was great. The atmosphere was awesome and the salmon I had was delicious!!
Very disappointing about this place !!! I’m from Tucson came to visit family members!! The one in Tucson blvd and grant st in Tucson way better!! I have dine in there a lots times !! Food real good !! Wings to cold very dried pieces of chicken the sauce still good fried chicken no good over fried!! Service no good i have to ask 3 times for my lemonades !!! Steak salad veggies need to be more crisp!! Overall bad !! I took my family for dinner and it was a bad decision go there!! Need to improve quiet a lot !
Culinary Dropout was a wonderful dining experience. Not a long wait, food was delicious and we had a excellent service. Andrew was da bomb!! The meatloaf sandwich was very good also the pretzel appetizer. Prices were reasonable too.
Are waiter was the best ever. Awesome food
I like the indoor/outdoor vibe but was disappointed by the food. We had the pretzel balls with provolone fondue, which was delicious. There are not many vegetarian options for entrees. I got a ravioli forgetting it was listed in the soup section (I mean, the menu is visually busy, and I've never had ravioli soup) and sort of expected a pasta. The butter net squash ravioli pieces were really good, but the rest was disappointing, since I love crisp/crunchy vegetables. The mandatory valet can be awkward if you keep anything personal in your car, but it was nice to not have to figure out parking in a cramped part of town.
Felt like a Sorority. Not my kind of scene going out with my husband. Music was too loud. Guess I'm a bit old school. The food was good, nothing too exciting.
Worth every cent!! Wonderful atmosphere and FANTASTIC FOOD
Very happening place. Visiting from Texas Very busy, but didn't have to wait long for anything(table, drinks, appetizers, entrees, and check). Our server Sabrina was exceptional.
Good food and the atmosphere outside is really nice and inviting.
Great food, cocktails and service. A very nice lively evening
This is co-located with the yard, and outdoor play place. There is a smaller parking lot behind (enter on north side). The interior has a lot of windows but is dark as hell when the sun goes down. The food was decent though the service was terrible. We had 8 people and there were maybe 6 more in the large restaurant at the time. She disappeared for an extended period and did not provide drink refills, nor other requested condiments. We had to hunt someone to give us the bill. Given that we were eating played dishes and not having drinks with appetizers, you’d think they’d pay attention more.
Awesome food and service that is just as good. This place is definitely worth a visit.
What a great space! Corey and Ian were very attentive and fun for our group. Great food selections and quick service.
Very trendy, definitely make a reservation. Live music is hit or miss. Cocktail menu is well thought out and crafted. Pretzels, Rib Eye Caps and fried chicken are all solid choices. Staff is great, service is fast and efficient. A must visit!
This is a great restaurant, we have always enjoyed the food and the service. This time, we had a medical emergency with our son during dinner, and the staff were incredibly helpful in getting an ambulance there and and making sure we had everything we needed. We are very grateful for their kindness, and would recommend Culinary Dropout to anyone.
Just visited this restaurant for the first time this week and I absolutely loved it! The atmosphere and staff are amazing. The food is great as well as the sangria! I got the corn ravioli and it was sooo good. Would def recommend!
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere.
LOVED this place! Great food and drinks, huge seating areas and just a fun spot to spend an evening.
Trendy spot that the smells from the kitchen help confirm that you made the right decision. The bartenders love what they do based on the fun they have when they are creating your liquid refreshment.
Great brunch & lunch menu. I love this place. Also, kids are welcomed there!!
Great venue for friends and family. Whether you want to hangout and eat some good food or watch a sporting event and unwind this place offers it all.
Awesome service, and good variety/quality food!
Excellent food. Very busy. Wait staff superb. It was also VERY noisy which made any conversation strained.
Great food. Fun sassy waiter. Can't remember his name but he was a dead ringer for Eddy Murphy
I had an order to go. I was told the fried chicken was amazing. I wish I had pictures to share but the chicken was literally burned!!!! I don’t write reviews at all but I literally was not satisfied at all. I had to throw the food away cause I couldn’t even eat it. I really think if you want good food you have to order at the location or they will make it terrible. Really disappointed, probably will try it once more to see if my rating still stands.
This place is pretty big! The back patio is huge, but its covered and they have a sprinkler system going on. So it makes your visit real nice. I like that they have ice water set up in a table with plastic cups and you can just go serve yourself at anytime. In this heat, it's very useful.
Culinary Dropout is a fun and exciting restaurant. The atmosphere is super lively. They had a music band playing tonight. This is definitely the kind of restaurant to meet a bunch of friends at. The food is good and the wait staff is friendly.
Great service. Open floor with variety of seating. Relaxed good time. New favorite place.
Great food, best low key vibe in the area stay away from the club scene and enjoy good times with friends and make a few new ones. They have games and a large open seating area with a ton of couches great for large parties.
This place is awesome!! The food is off the charts fantastic! We had the pretzel knots with the cheese fondue. These were tasty and great for 4-5 people. The steak salad was the best steak salad I’ve ever had, so tasty and full of flavor!!
One friend ordered the grilled steak tacos (which came with a small side of beans), another got the butternut squash ravioli (super rich), and I got the pesto shrimp orecchiette. Everything was SO. GOOD.Also, it's a short walk to Tempe Beach Park, and I'd highly recommend a quick stroll after your meal/drinks at CD.
Not imoressed. I ordered chicken, the meal was overcooked (burnt) and I was given the incorrect chicken type several times. This place is definitely not friendly if you are disabled in a wheelchair. No access button as I watched several wheelchair users approach. When it was time for the wheelchair users to leave, as a patron in the restaurant I had to get up and let them out. No staff at the door for the group that were in wheelchairs.
I wish there were separate ratings for service and the food. Frankie our waitress, was wonderful! She was extremely nice and helpful. We were happy to have her help us. Unfortunately, Fox concept group got bought out by The Cheesecake Factory a few weeks ago. The food quality & quantity has already plummeted. The pork belly nachos used to be covered with pork belly. Now see them in the picture below. 1 tiny scoop of pork belly off to the side. Frankie was great and brought us out a side of pork belly, but really? The Korean style rib eye cap on the right side of the picture was very delicious, but seems much smaller then before. The Pink Cadillac Margarita was very good & perfect for the summer. So go here for the Margaritas & great service from Frankie, but go somewhere else for dinner.
The place is very nice, with the name description and other views I did expect more. The description & reviews make it seem that they have unique food... Well no so much. they have like a little checklist on your table so you can make a create your own cheese appetizer which three cheeses and crackers is $20 . Not as " fancy" or different food as I thought. Waitress was friendly though. I'm not from area but would go again
Excellent food and great vibe. I was not impressed with the bacon vodka Bloody Mary and I only took two drinks of it. We stopped to inquire about renting the venue for a special event. He immediately took the time to show us around and answer all of our questions. We appreciate him taking time to speak with us and show us around. We will be renting the venue in the near future.
Great atmosphere! Love the open air and family style environment. Many of the servers don't wear bras! Wow. Food was spot on. We ordered the pretzels and cheese and the tuna salad. Service was really personalized and we went on a Saturday afternoon. Many things to do here. You can watch the kitchen staff cook. Bar is the center of it all. Ping pong Shuffleboard and cornhole for when you get bored. They open more sections as it gets busier. The coop etc. Only complaints were limited parking and very dirty glasses.
Great food and drink selection. Highly recommend!
When driving here, it felt like this was spot was a bit hidden off the main roads. However, I'm glad I happened to chance upon this spot. The ambiance was very energetic, and I got their burger with the fries and pickle. The burger was not too dry and not too soppy- just right. The fries were on point as well. The serving size was just so huge I could not finish it in one sitting. Had to get a to go box. :) While there, I sat at the bar with a group, and I must say the bartender provided great service. He was friendly and very prompt with getting our orders written down and carried out to us.
Food is pretty darn good. The price is very fair. Food quantity is fair. This restaurant does a great job of being new and pushing different food boundaries without charging an arm and a leg. Their small plate selection look good but I mainly came here for the entrees and the friend chicken looked amazing. The meatloaf was great but the fried chicken plate had more food.
good food. Not much on the menu, it may change a lot. It has an edgy brewery feel. Service was good.
Excellent service and food. Can't wait to go back.
Great concept, and cool space. The staff is great. Cheerful and knowledgeable. My dinner was good overall, but based on how great the atmosphere and the menu description were, my fried chicken was underwhelming... but I'm spoiled on fried chicken. I'd recommend this place to others for sure, and even give the fried chicken another shot.
Love the environment of the restaurant. Very welcoming. Pretty busy when we ate but served descent given the amount of people there.
Nice atmosphere and feel inside this location. The food was good I had the BBQ burger and it was awesome. Everyone in my group enjoyed their food as well. Decently priced and a good amount of high end and lower end options in terms of price and food selection.
The food was great! The staff is fantastic. Anytime I'm out in Phoenix I will definitely make this my first stop. Great spot!!
We had a group of 10 people to celebrate a graduation. The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was delicious! Next time we're in Tempe we'll go back!
So overrated. Overpriced. When I pay as much as I did just expect good food not something that would've tasted better at McDonald's. Bad food, bad service. Basically paying for ambience.
I had the ribs, my friend had fried chicken. Both were excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. Recommend making a reservation though as wait times can get long.
I am so glad that I got to eat at this restaurant. Totally cool vibe. Even though it was noisy, I could hear the people around me. Terrific atmosphere. The salmon was amazing. Love the decorations and urban ambiance. I hope to go back again soon!
A fun hip place that always has me regretting I cut my beard...No but really a great place to have a drink and socialize or have a gourmet meal. Always very creative craft cocktails and creative meals on the menu. Also they have an outdoor area set up for games like Cornhole. Also a few different rooms setup for private meetings.
Food was awesome!! I love the atmosphere here, the place is huge!! Seating was very comfortable. The adult games are a plus for a night out with friends. I will be back the next time i visit Phoenix
The atmosphere is amazing. Live music, lounge couches, ping pong tables and staff is really friendly. So much fun! Very modern and family friendly. I recommend making reservations.
Friendly staff and excellent tap list. Recommend the nachos but ask for jalapenos.
Atmosphere is amazing. Staff was friendly. Food was delicious. We tried the butternut squash ravioli, the pork nachos and s'mores desert along with the bread pudding, it was all delightful. A bit over priced and food took a long time to come out.
Our Waitress Britney was cool... very pretty and held conversation. Our main entrees came out before our app and I felt like there weren't that many options to choose from as far as food. A lot of beer, wine and alcoholic beverage options tho.
We came during the dinner rush so we waited a bit for an indoor table, but it was so worth it because the food was incredible. We tried the deviled eggs and wished we order another. I got the fried chicken, my husband the ribs. I'm a picky meat eater and I finished every bit! My husband hardly ever says he "loved" a meal... he did at Culinary Dropout. Hands down the best restaurant we tried in Scottsdale. Can't wait to come back next time
As always the food was tasty and the setting was awesome at Culinary. I appreciate that they always have lots of free parking!!
What a cool place! I've been to the Culinary Dropout in Austin and had a blast. This location has to be 3 times the size! We went here for a staff event and could not have been looked after better. A really wacky-go-trendy place to hangout - you're not going to find many better atmospheres once things get going. Phenomenal food (the pretzel fondue and ribs for the win) means if you haven't already, you need to check this place out.
Reasonably priced beer and wine selections, outdoor seating area with ping-pong and Cornhole games. Service and food were great for our group.
I normally don't order fish but the grilled salmon with black rice looked really good from the menu so I gave it a go, and it was a fantastic choice. The salmon was soft and savory, and grilled to just the right amount of crispy on the skin. A little bit of mashed potato on the bottom, which was creamy and tasty, and the black rice on the side was so nice and chewy. They also fill you up if the salmon is too light of a meal for you, but it won't make you stuffed. Overall the quantity and quality of this dish are just perfect.
The atmosphere, food and service were all great! The pretzel fondue was phenomenal. I got the fried chicken and my wife had the fish and chips. The money bread dessert topped it all off!! Our server Emily was genuinely friendly and attentive. She really went above and beyond! Keep it up y'all!
My boss took our office out for a holiday lunch and I was very excited to try this place out. I had heard great things. I was not disappointed. The food was great, service was great, and the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend the pretzel bites. Also the nachos.....
A booming outfit with a split restaurant and bar sections. My girlfriend and I turned up midweek to be surprised how busy it was. We couldn’t get a set in the restaurant but sat at the bar to drink craft ale and cocktails. Surprisingly they were playing rugby on one of the many large sports screens above the bar. The staff were great and machines at powering out cocktails!
Food was great. Some of the servers dress a bit inappropriate for the vibe of the restaurant. Love the games in the back and the cool hang out areas.
Great place to chill and kick back while enjoying a drink and great food. Large covered patio with games and TVs everywhere. Worth checking out
It was OK. For a place pushing this ambience and higher quality food. It lacked flavor in the food and my wife’s salmon was still raw in the middle. They made her a new plate but she lost her appetite. The rest of the food was ok. But when we think we should have just gone to Chili’s instead, says a lot about how just paying more because of some atmosphere isn’t worth it.
cool atmosphere and the patio is really nice at night. the food is so good too
This place is fantastic. One of our favorite hangout style bars to go to. Good modern music, amazing dishes, decent prices, good drink selection, and chill vibes. There’s a large outdoor area with comfy couches, cornhole, shuffle board and ping pong.
Got drinks and some appetizers. Happy Hour menu said "well cocktails" were $4 but what they meant was the well alcohol and a mixer, not a cocktail. Ordered Greyhounds, which were mediocre. Bread was excellent. Antipasto good but pricey (you assemble your own plate from a selections menu). Waitress was excellent. Have had a meal here before and food was good. Will probably return a some point since convenient to Mill Ave.
O. My. Goodness! This place has some incredible offerings!! The pick-yer-own charcuterie is an excellent concept - and each item I picked, was at the top of it's class. Our waitress, Cierra is top-notch, too. Her recommendations paid off, big time and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Loved the pretzel bites, beets and goat cheese. Liked the prime rib sandwich too. Great lively open atmosphere. Wish i could have been there to see a band.
Always fun! Great food, drinks and atmosphere.
Cocktails were excellent, food was very good and the prices were decent. We say outside and enjoyed the beautiful spring weather. Atmosphere is a lot of fun, but the volume of the music make it hard to have a conversation unless you are sitting right next to someone. Would definitely come back
Love this place. Tasty bacon blood marys. Great food, great service. I love sitting outside on a nice day and brunching with friends.
Menu and food was amazing. Recommended by our Rep at Chase field, thanks Matt
Great place to hang with family and friends! Fun uptempo vibe!
Yummy, love the music vibe and loud but calm atmosphere.
Great spot for food and drinks. Remember to ask for locally made spirits
Decent fish. Fries were soggy and tasteless. Kale salad was good. Incredibly loud couldn't Carey a conversation without yelling. Wouldn't go again.
Delicious place to grab a bite to eat. They have amazing live music (it can get very loud). They don't have handicapped accommodations so if you're in a wheelchair you're kind of screwed. Otherwise, a great hang out spot.
Always pretty yummy. Service was kind of slow but we had a large party, so that'll happen. We'll be back.
Went for a late supper about 8 pm. Started with the potato chips with dip, and the hummus with pita and veggies. Had the vegan curry it was spicy and delicious. The rest of my party had the fried chicken, grilled chicken sandwich, and fish and chips. No complaints from anyone. Specialty drinks were awesome . Service was good. Monkey bread for dessert was late getting out and a bit over cooked but Manager comped it on our bill without us asking. The vibe in the place is young and hip but the crowd was all ages. Music was alternative but obnoxious, it blended into the background. Parking is below. We did walk up and down a steep ramp, but in the heat of sunny day it will be worth it.
It was Mom's day, we set 4 for lunch. We all took burgers and ALL came cold after 30 minutes of waiting. We asked to return and cancel the whole thing as we did not want to wait additional 30 minutes. The lady in green took over our order and made sure we are being served ASAP. We got fresh hot burgers right away. In addition, she took the whole bill off. 5 stars for turning an angry family to a stuffed happy one. We are too easy..
Good food, good service
The best fried chicken I've ever had. My girlfriend said the same thing about the meatloaf. The live music was great too. Very nice atmosphere.
If you enjoy crowded, loud places to enjoy a bite to eat, and being a bit in the pricey side, this place is for you. Food was ok, and our servers were pleasant, but honestly, I could have had the same food at a place like Applebees and been just as happy. The forced Valet parking with rude Valets is not my thing.
Such a fun, lively atmosphere and the ULTIMATE place in town to either grab a quick drink with a friend, entertain a large party, or have a nice sit-down dinner. Culinary Dropout is so versatile and offers something for everyone. I look forward to my next visit!
Great comfort food if you're looking for a late-night bite!
A great place for a family Sunday brunch where you let the kids run around, have a good bloodyMary, and phenomenally large breakfast burrito. Excellent atmosphere!
Great place. Food was wonderful, atmosphere was warm and eclectic. Service was great!
Had so much fun at this place. This is a great place to meet new people or a great place to bring a first date. The food is wonderful. After dinner you have to stay and play the games next door..
The service was great and the outside seating was beautiful with the weather right now. But unfortunately, some of the food was a bummer. The sides (mashed potatoes and gravy) were pretty bad. Boxed potatoes are fine when seasoned, but these tasted like cardboard, and the gravy was cold and flavorless. The green beans were withered. At least my friend's fried chicken was good, as well as my meatloaf. Plus they were big portions. The appetizers were good, but that's it. If we go back, it'll be for cocktails.
This place was awesome. Food was great and you can buy a paper bag beer for $2 and get a random can. Both of ours were actually pretty good. I need to make it to the one in San Francisco and see if it's as good.
Awesome atmosphere, friendly staff, and good drinks. Good family spot for cornhole, ping pong or even a little foosball. It would have been 5 stars but last night I wasn't impressed with the pork belly nachos. The chips are fairly thin and become instantly soggy once the queso is applied. Perhaps some people like them that way so I dont want to be overly judgmental. They just weren't for me. Everything else is great. Try the Antipasti, pretzel bites, and/or the fried chicken.
This is a local and very hip uptown favorite. Bring large groups or dine solo at the bar. Unique dining and beer options galore!
Culinary Droupout is amazing. Go for happy hour!!! Snacks and drinks for cheap. Loved the outdoor seating and atmosphere overall. A great date spot or a hangout with friends. They even have mist sprayers outside for when it's super hot out.
Everything was okay, appetizer and drink wise that is. Service was good too. My biggest complaint was my food. I got pork ribs. If you've had pork ribs ANYWHERE else, you would know they are not supposed to be as tough as steak and should fall off bone easily, quite the contrary here. For a $24 plate you should have nothing less than at least average food quality. In this case I reccomend the item be dropped from the menu entirely or the chefs go back to culinary school as this is basic quality control 101. 3 stars as appetizers were just fine and I appreciated the fair drink prices.
Great service, food is OK. Not a place I would go too far out of my way to visit and it is very expensive for what you get. I most likely will not go back.
Great vibes. Good drinks a food. Definitely on pricey side though.
The food is great, but what makes Culinary Dropout stand out is their “brown bag special,” where you pay $1.95 to get a randomly-chosen beer in a brown bag. Sometimes the beer is amazing, sometimes it’s mediocre, but it’s always cheaper than your average beer!
Friday happy hour, service was excellent. The 5 stars are essentially for those God damn pretzels! Happy you accept Door Dash!
Server was great and atmosphere is great! Food was mostly good overall but the French Dip seemed to have a bit less meat on than usual. Overall still great experience though!
great atmosphere of pop-rock culture, food there is great also. i had pork ribs. they were tender but glaze was little bit sourer than it should be. anyway. staff was very nice. great place to eat and have some beer and meal with friends.
Had the roasted salmon and a room service drink It was very yummy! I highly recommend it!
Steak salad and pretzels with beer cheese, highly recommend
Food was good and service was great
Very fun environment and tasty food!
Great place , great happy hour. but noisy. Our first time there so next time we will make sure to go in the middle of the afternoon when it's not quite so busy
Live music, games and great food.
We went in for some drinks and food before attending a jazz concert later that evening. We tried to take a seat but we were told that all the tables were reserved, which is totally fine. So we stand at the end of the bar and order drinks. We waited about 30 minutes to order food and we noticed that the tables were still empty, By time the food came out about 45 minutes to an hour after we got there we noticed the tables were still empty so we asked if we could sit to eat our food and they told us no because the tables were reserved. So we are out food ordered 2 more rounds of drinks(still standing at the corner of the bar) we stood there for about 2-2.5hrs, the whole time we were there the tables were empty, in fact when we left the tables were still empty. I feel like they shouldn't have reserved tables that long in advance or at least let us sit down and inform us we had to leave at a certain time so they could get ready for the event.
Great food and service. It's a little loud for visiting but it works
Lively place with great service and food. Tried the Korean style cap steak, best dish I've had in a long time. Slightly spicy very savory.
Make a reservation if you can. Came on a Fri night and it was an hour and a half wait for 2 people. We ended up sitting at the bar and eating there. Great food and drink selection.
This place was awesome! Great food great service and fun yard games to play!
Great Mother's day brunch with the family. Service was great. La Vida Verde was an excellent cocktail, we'll definitely be back.
This Restaurant is very unique and exciting with two restaurants combined Culinary Dropout and The Yard. These two restaurants combined are filled with energy. The Yard is filled with ping pong tables and bing bag toss games and Culinary Dropout has a variety of delicious comfort foods Definitely a great place to experience...
The place is insane loud, our waitress was just this side of making us scream and I'm back at our hotel sick as a dog. I specifically said no dairy, no gluten. She said "no problem" she was that too. After we finished she offered the dessert menu. She said "this brownie, peanut butter pudding thing" with house made toffee was dairy and gluten free. I looked at the menu, not a single note or comment about gluten free or that magical dairy free pudding or toffee. I honestly don't think she knows what the hell gluten or dairy is. I can assure you my stomach's voting she's not in the know. Thanks for ruining my night.
Came here on a Saturday night. Made reservations. Arrived a few minutes before reservation time and tried to check in. Hostess turned us away stating we need to wait until our reservation time to check in. Finally checked in and was told our table was being cleared off and we would be seated in a minute or two. 15 minutes later, we found out the table was not being cleared off - the people sitting there were just sitting there and not leaving. 15 minutes later we were seated inside. The live music was good, but so loud we had to yell to talk to each other. Food was acceptable and had good flavor. Service was slow.
Good food, good vibe, and ok drinks. Makes for a great place to go with friends or a big group. It wasn't anything amazing but would definitely go back and would recommend.
Good food in a fun atmosphere.
Live music and nice cocktails
Lunch was delicious! The service was great, and the atmosphere is fun!
Such a fun little place! A bit pricey for drinks, but the bartenders are awesome at making something not listed and are very creative. My drink was so pretty it was a shame to drink.
Great food and great atmosphere! Highly recommend their brunch.
Nice bustling place. Service was good Food was good. But they are smack dab in the middle of great restaurants everywhere. So competition is fierce. That being said you are either a regular who believes they are the best in the area. But I think they need a bit of zudging to make them shine
Tonight was the first time coming here for my fiancee and I. While we were both a little worried in the beginning since it was definitely not our usual scene, we were very happy with our experience! The patio seating area was very beautifully decorated! Waitress was amazing! & The food was absolutely delicious!!! Would definitely recommend this place to friends & family!
Great food at a great price.
The food here was so good it has me reconsidering everything I've ever eaten. Delicious food, and amazing service. Well deserved 5 stars.
Super fun place with yummy food. Perfect spot for group outings, families, office parties, date night etc. One side has a traditional restaurant/bar space with an open kitchen and the other side has a HUGE indoor/outdoor space with games like table tennis and corn hole and casual seating that feel like you're on someone's patio or living room. Valet parking is free, which you'll want to take advantage of because the surrounding neighborhood has restricted parking due to the popularity of this place. Summertime the outdoor space is cooled so you don't have to worry about being in the heat. Recommend dishes are the warm soft pretzels with cheese dip and the fried chicken.
