One of the best experiences I've ever had. Five of my favorite friends and I enjoyed a fantastic night at Cafe Monarch back in February. It was strangely cold in Phoenix at that time, but we still chose to dine outside. We were more than comfortable as the fantastic food, drinks, and conversation flowed. I believe our experience lasted approximately 4 hours, and it will always be one of my favorite memories. The food was beyond amazing, and the service even more so! We came to Cafe Monarch on the recommendation of one my friends who had been there 2 years prior. Not only was she remembered, but her choice of wine was as well! WOW! Phenomenal is the only way to describe Cafe Monarch!

This is a special occasion dining experience. Everything was delicious and the attention to every detail exceptional. It is a four course dinner... small and tasty first three courses of which you choose one of two. Then main course there were 10 to choose from. Inside and the terrace especially... magical. This was one of our most incredible,enjoyable dining experiences for us ——thanks to the wonderful hostesses, servers, and management who made sure that attention to detail of every aspect of our meal was perfect. We both had the vegetarian 4 course fixed menu . The food was great and the presentation masterful. This is by far one of the most romantic restaurants we have every had dinner at. The restaurant both outside and inside exemplify the feeling that you are dining in an Italian villa! It is tastefully decorated inside and has a wonderful outdoor dining area in the back. We will definitely return very soon!

My wife and I had what we thought was a 5 star meal here. I can't wait to surprise her again. If you have reservations about the fixed price restaurant...you need to try it before you swear off it. Expect to spend at a minimum 250.00...but as my wife said...my tongue just had an or+#*m!

Decided to do something for our anniversary. Absolutely perfect choice. Yes it's a expensive but it's worth it for the quality of ingredients and dishes. Mother's Day Dinner on the patio I will never forget! So beautiful. Charming patio with a fireplace & water fountain. Unusual and fun cocktail menu. Appetizer were tasty with creative presentation. Once the sun sets and the lights come on it is especially romantic. The wait staff was over-the-top attentive and knowledgeable about the foods and the region. Our waiter was funny and personable while giving us plenty of space. Food prices are definitely on the expensive side but the experience was beyond comparison. Perfect location for romance.

Setting: Even though parking isn’t great the place is beautiful. Great decorations that aren’t tacky and not over crowded. Service: The servers are fine, other places ensure the servers are more professionally dressed and maintained. They kept our drinks full most of the time. Food: The tuna dish in the second pic was difficult to chew. The pork and fettuccine dish delicious with lots of flavor but the pork was way to rare. The cauliflower soup was AMAZING! The compressed melon salad was full of different flavors and textures that really made it unique. Filet mignon Wellington was also a great dish but the filet mignon main dish was not a good cut of meat, fatty and rare. Overall it’s a good place but for the cost I’d try Kai or Quiessence which have better presentation and food.

Sourced with local foods enhanced with mouth-watering sauces, meat cooked to perfection, and extremely attractive presentations, every item we tasted was superb. Service was impeccable. Took my mother for her birthday again, came here last year also , I can not express how professional, delightful, knowledgeable the staff is, my son of 1.5yr old the chef made him some fries and chicken tenders to hold him over till we had our meals, our party of 6 can not express how good the food is, it is so exquisite in it's presentation, smell and taste of course, we met the chef to say thankyou for everything, very gracious chef, the hospitality I told him was best I've ever had along with my guest said the best they've had and experience, do not pass this opportunity up! I was completely blown away, the French inspired decor was gorgeous, I felt as if I was in a Château in the French countryside and I didn't leave Scottsdale. I recently took my girlfriend here for our one year anniversary and the young Man who served us was beyond what I could have ever expected! He not only made changes to the meal plan to better accommodate our tastes but also made recommendations that were exactly as he described! We had a great experience celebrating a birthday at Cafe Monarch. Servers were excellent. All very kind and accommodating, as we were with our four year old. One server even made up a salad plate for her to enjoy instead of just sharing with mommy. Great ambience. Some of the courses were five-star, such as the sea bass, tuna, bucatini, and relleno. The food was good quality, but for the price, we would expect every course to be five stars. Awesome that they also surprised us with cake and a small birthday gift. Thank you Cafe Monarch!

My husband and I enjoy quality meals around the country and abroad. We’ve eaten at Michelin Star restaurants (of which Cafe Monarch should definitely be included) as well as your average fine dining restaurant. I have to say: you don’t have to be a “foodie” to enjoy the food at Cafe Monarch. I was extremely impressed with not only the quality (I knew for the price, that would be a near given), but the actual flavors of the food offerings. I’m not often surprised by food at this point - not in a negative way, it’s just that I can look at menu items and know what to expect - but I was totally surprised with the food at Cafe Monarch. When you partake in each course, you can tell the chef put serious thought into every detail of that course - from the sauces to the vegetables to the presentation. I loved every single thing I ate at Cafe Monarch. I was so impressed with the entire experience; it’s unlike any other restaurant in the valley. There are no gimmicks here: no searing hot plates with grocery store chain meat thrown on top, no sauced or carb-y accompaniments required to hide the entrees’ subpar flavors, no darkly lit restaurant you have to take out a phone flashlight to see, the tables aren’t so close you feel like you’re in a cafeteria hall, etc. Cafe Monarch serves each course simply, in a romantically elegant environment, and the only possible downside to this method, is that everything is so good, you end up wanting more of each individual course. Overall, I highly recommend the Cafe Monarch experience. For myself, I cannot wait to go back.

The staff were all very accommodating to my food allergies. They served me dishes that were very similar to my husband's dishes with minor changes which didn't seem to compromise the integrity of any dishes. I had 6 complete courses including dessert. The service was top-notch and each dish was complex in textures and flavors. The only thing I miss is the rose garden coziness of the outdoor seating and cottage-like indoor seating that existed at the building across the street... where Cafe Monarch used to be. Now it feels like an upscale restaurant (not a bad thing, just missed the comfort of the home-feeling)! At the end of the night, my husband and I left Cafe Monarch with incredibly happy and full bellies! Can't wait to come back!

Because of the opportunity to choose between course selections, my daughter and I choose different things. CM's wine pairing option worked well for us. 4 glasses of wine each paired for our selections. Dessert should not be missed - fantastic butter cake. So, the evening (yes the dining experience was savored over several hours) was pricey but a great value. The service from beginning to end was over the top. Again, we were celebrating some really big events. Our memories of our celebration at Cafe Monarch will be fondly remembered for years to come. Go if you can.

My husband and I enjoy quality meals around the country and abroad. We’ve eaten at Michelin Star restaurants (of which Cafe Monarch should definitely be included) as well as your average fine dining restaurant. I have to say: you don’t have to be a “foodie” to enjoy the food at Cafe Monarch. I was extremely impressed with not only the quality (I knew for the price, that would be a near given), but the actual flavors of the food offerings. I’m not often surprised by food at this point - not in a negative way, it’s just that I can look at menu items and know what to expect - but I was totally surprised with the food at Cafe Monarch. When you partake in each course, you can tell the chef put serious thought into every detail of that course - from the sauces to the vegetables to the presentation. I loved every single thing I ate at Cafe Monarch. I was so impressed with the entire experience; it’s unlike any other restaurant in the valley. There are no gimmicks here: no searing hot plates with grocery store chain meat thrown on top, no sauced or carb-y accompaniments required to hide the entrees’ subpar flavors, no darkly lit restaurant you have to take out a phone flashlight to see, the tables aren’t so close you feel like you’re in a cafeteria hall, etc. Cafe Monarch serves each course simply, in a romantically elegant environment, and the only possible downside to this method, is that everything is so good, you end up wanting more of each individual course. Overall, I highly recommend the Cafe Monarch experience. For myself, I cannot wait to go back.

The staff were all very accommodating to my food allergies. They served me dishes that were very similar to my husband's dishes with minor changes which didn't seem to compromise the integrity of any dishes. I had 6 complete courses including dessert. The service was top-notch and each dish was complex in textures and flavors. The only thing I miss is the rose garden coziness of the outdoor seating and cottage-like indoor seating that existed at the building across the street... where Cafe Monarch used to be. Now it feels like an upscale restaurant (not a bad thing, just missed the comfort of the home-feeling)! At the end of the night, my husband and I left Cafe Monarch with incredibly happy and full bellies! Can't wait to come back!

Without question Cafe Monarch is delightful, the food is amazing, the staff are well trained in everything but snobiness they are warm and friendly. They want to make sure your experience it is all you dreamed it would be.The vegetables are all from local organic farms. They're also selective on where their meats come from most of which are prime cuts. So ladies put on something lovely And be treated like royalty. It's a bit pricey but come on you deserve a treat !!

Our server Chris was completely understanding of allergies, explained the menu perfect and made us feel so comfortable. The bartender was super friendly and made great cocktails. Expensive? Yes. Very unique place to eat. The chef prepares a 4 course meal and you have a couple of options for each course. The portion sizes are small, but the food quality is exceptional. The wine list was good and the server's are sommeliers so they can help you with food pairings. Not the cheapest place to eat. It's a $$$$ type place. Great place to go if you are splurging on yourself for a special occassion.
