Horrible first experience. Once we finally got greeted our server was very sweet. But the table was incredibly dirty so she sent over someone to clean it. The girl that cleaned it was SO rude she made my wife cry. She spoke to us like we were trash. Barely cleaned the table at all. Then we sat there waiting even longer just to get a drink order. So we finally just left.

First they set the table with wet spoons and forks. Then they drop coffee outside your cup and they even don't bother to clean. The food is very greasy, deeped in oil.

A great Old Fashioned Style Diner. The halibut burger is fantastic. Regular Burger and fries are awesome. Each order of fries is cooked to order. Sit at the counter and watch the magic happen. The place has been in operation since 1946.

Monday July 23 was my birthday and Mom and I stopped in for lunch. We had the best halibut burger in the world. Lightly fried, not greasy and the fish was bigger than the bun. Had good fries too! Couldn't eat them all but we did eat all the fish. Waitress gave us the best brownies my b-day. It was so moist and fudggie wished we had more. Next time in Anchorage we'll be heading back to the corner of 4th and A st. For a halibut burger at the White Spot Cafe! Two happy Texans

This was the first place I visited in Anchorage. The Halibut plate was amazing. The pieces I got appeared to be small but were very dense and filling. The "dive-y" feel was what I imagined a little Alaska restaurant to look like.

The menu is unfortunately not friendly for kids. The cheapest thing we could get for our 3 year old was an $8 meal that he barely ate. The halibut sandwich was great. I loved the breading on it as were the onion rings. There were a few hiccups in the order though and my husband who has been coming here for years was sad to have a much smaller piece of halibut on his. I absolutely loved the onions on the sandwich but they were chopped onions, so they wouldn't stay on the sandwich.

Due to the location of this restaurant, initial appearances may suggest that this is a hole-in-the-wall establishment. However, when you walk in you're brought back to historical times in Anchorage, the walls are filled with memorabilia from Alaska's past and the music is tuned to a station that seems to be playing a lot of classic pop hits. The sit-where-you-want style of hosting allows you to find the most interesting piece of art and dine with it. Service is prompt and the food presentation suggests that the chef intends to keep the memory lane theme going inasmuch as the food resembles the cuisine of the past. This retrostyle restaurant gives the complete dining experience of old Anchorage. I just wish the food didn't taste bland.

Awesome place, down home cooking. I had a custom six egg omelet and man it was good. Perfect in size, daughter had the French toast and she loves it. Service was decent, the wait staff seemed stressed out. It was moderately busy, there were empty clean tables so it wasn't too bad. Our table was just wiped and still wet and when I asked the waitress to wipe it again to dry it seemed as if she had an issue with it. Said the table is clean, I said I understand that, just that it's wet and I would like to dried off. After that it seemed better, she didn't wanna wait on us had someone else do it, she was nice. All and all it still gets a 5 star review, will I go back? Probably, Saturday morning Breakfast is my daughter and my thing and it was good food.

Love this place for breakfast and lunch. The burgers are top notch in Anchorage on par with all the "burger joints" but they serve breakfast starting at 7am as well. Staff remembered my name after my second stop in, I loved that. Their menu is simple and doesn't need to change a bit. Long time Anchorage hole in the wall you should definitely check out.

Worth stopping in to try and don't avoid considering the daily specials as well if they feel right. If wandering and in need of a quick bite stop in. Oh they have beer to drink too. Cheers!

A wonderful experience every time I have eaten at White Spot. I've brought my friends and family to dine at White Spot and everyone raves about the breakfast, halibut burger, hamburgers...Every single food item we have tried is fresh, flavorful and just absolutely delicious. The staff who have served us are just as wonderful, the owner is so personable and seems to really care about your dining experience at her establishment and John is also such a pleasure to talk to. It's refreshing to be appreciated as a customer. I highly recommend White Spot and although the location of this restaurant may suggest that it is a hole-in-the-wall, when you walk in you are immediately brought back to the historical times in Anchorage because the walls are adorned with art pieces and decor that are filled with memorabilia from Alaska's past and the atmosphere and music (classic pop hits) make you feel like are just brought back in time. The laid back and and sit-where-you-want, will allow you to find "your perfect spot". A++++ experience! Thank you White Spot for really caring about your customers!! Your restaurant is on the top of our favorite list!

I tried a loaded burger and a fish and chips special on 2 visits. the food is pretty standard fare, though I suspect because I didn't order the house specialties. The classic diner ambiance complete with attentive customer service is what sets this venue above most restaurants I've visited. I will return!

I'm currently sitting in the restaurant waiting for the food. We stopped in for breakfast based on reviews and because we thought it would be faster than Snow City because that's always busy. We're in town from Fairbanks. We should have gone to Snow City. I've been here for almost an hour and it looks like they're just getting started on cooking my food over there. I may upgrade it to 2 stars or 3 if the food is out of this world but I don't expect that. It looks like your standard "hash brown, bacon and egg" spot. We finished the food now. My food was decent, standard hash browns and eggs I expected. My wife's French toast had a hair the first go-round and when they finally came a second time she complained they seemed to be made from dollar store bread, the thin white cheap bread. The service was good, the wait staff was very nice and apologetic about the wait. Overall I would say it was a bad experience and given that we don't live here we won't be going back for another try the next time we're in town. Still 1 star

When KTUU Channel 2 did a story on restaurants that make Anchorage I had to stop in and try. The staff was warm and helpful and recommended their signature Halibut sandwich that did not dissapoint. Finished off the meal with a strawberry milkshake and the sense I'll be dragging friends back here!

We were planning on grabbing a quick bite to eat and go for a walk as we didn’t have a lot of time in Anchorage. We went into the cafe and it was busy but we were lucky to get a table. I had the reindeer breakfast (scrambled eggs with reindeer dog) and it was delicious. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the reindeer dog, well, it was juicy and delicious. We did have to wait about 20 to get our meal and we immediately asked for the bill so we wouldn’t have to wait longer.

This is one of those little hole-in-the-wall diners with plenty of local flavor. It's got that family-run feel to it and though it's nothing fancy, it has character. I visited here twice, ordering a burger the first time and a reindeer sausage breakfast the second time. Both were really good and were served with fries and home fries respectively. The breakfast also came with two eggs served however you like them. I had mine prepared over medium and they came out perfect. The staff is small (we had the same waitress both times) and she was quite capable and friendly. The food was served in good portions and in a timely manner. They have a decent variety, though don't expect anything too fancy. It's just simple, good fare. They're open for breakfast and lunch and I would recommend it. The White Spot is a great way to staft youf day.
