Pretty much just a pizza place nothing fancy but nothing bad. If you want a pizza and beer this will do. Service could be better and summer time it's packed with kids soccer, fooball, and baseball teams so there is that as well.

Pretty good, but I think it’s been slipping. Service and crust is on par 5/5. Specialty pizzas are lacking and could use more care/better ingredients... Example - unmelted cheese, canned jalapeños instead of fresh, etc. Overall 4/5 but could def be 5/5 with a little more care. Will keep coming back.

I've only ordered out! The wait time hasn't been terrible, about 30 minutes. I really enjoyed their pizza, but I sometimes dream about the spaghetti and meatballs. I would definitely recommend!

I love the food here! Tonight we got a pizza and after my family had began to eat the pizza we all noticed the cheese tasted different than usual. I called and spoke to a manager and he was nice and informational on how they check their foods freshness. He offered to make us a new pizza to remedy the situation and 30 minutes later we had a new pizza that tasted great like it usually does. Great people and great food!

Usually good service and good pizza. Tonight we had a cold, impressionable waitress who screwed up our wing order. I gave her a break because she is training someone. Guess that means 2 of them screwed up. They brought more wings and they were burnt and nasty. Pizza was good though

Great food, great atmosphere. A total local dive. Free popcorn as an appetizer and GREAT pizza. Although, I would not get the buffalo chicken. it's not as good as some of their other pizzas such as the gyro. Uncle Joes gives discounts to the local high school which is a huge help to clubs and groups in the high school. Definitely worth the stop if nearby. Update: Buffalo Chicken pizza is a hit or miss everytime. Sometimes it's good and other times terrible. Consistency with that pizza needs to be improved.

Our pizza was over 20 minutes later than the advised time of arrival from an already lengthy hour ETA. We called to check on the status and they could not find the order with any of the information that was shown in the confirmation e-mail (name, confirmation number, etc.) Once they found the order, they said it had already been delivered... They made no attempt at a new ETA or how to “make it right” with a coupon or anything from a customer service standpoint. The pizza was good though! Will order from a different location in the future.

The service was incredibly slow and the meat calzone was very dry. There wasn't any visible sauce in it. The waitress brought a side of it to me and another customer,who ordered a combo calzone, upon request.

Once again a order was placed on it was screwed up. I ordered wings and they weren't even put on the ticket. Every time I expect a screw up I just wonder what it is. Horrible service! Totally inconsiderate manager. When the video games are not working don't lie to me and tell me they are fixed! Zero stars would be appropriate.

A great alternative when you don't want to deal with the controlled chaos and indoor mob that is Moose's Tooth. This place serves quality comfort food. The calzones should have their own ZIP codes they're so stinking huge. Bring an appetite or reserve some refrigerator space because you're coming home with leftovers.

Pizza could be alot better it was soggy in the middle and bland in flavor. They use alot of corn meal on the crust. DO NOT order any side items they are all terrible. Soggy motzarrella sticks... they seamed like they were baked not fried. The marinara sauce is just the pizza sauce. There is no difference in flaver. Way to expensive for the quality of food. I have eaten better food at a gas station.

Poor customer service. The food was mediocre. This is the 2nd time in a row with poor customer service. The first time they gave us credit to use so we will come back. We finally returned hoping this time will be better. The pizza lacked sauce but was hot. The server was fine until we asked to use the credit from the last time we were there to find out the credit was used on a date that we weren't even there! Spoke to the manager and nothing, just a blank stare! Never again!

I wrote this review on 7/3/19. Joe responded, apologized, and said he would give me a refund. I replied, and asked him how do I get the refund. To date he has not responded. Once again EPIC FAIL in customer service. Go to Moose's Tooth, or Pizza Hut...just don't go here. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! I was greatly disappointed with Management today. My son had won his football game and wanted to eat pizza from his favorite spot, Uncle Joes. Unfortunately, his younger brother's stomach does not enjoy their food so we got him some food from a different restaurant so the rest of us could enjoy the pizza at Uncle Joe's. My wife and son had already been sat when me and my younger son who is 6 years old came in with his food. Not a word was said about not allowing outside food until after we had ordered drinks. It was then we were told no outside food was permitted. Now dont get me wrong, I understand not wanting outside food in one's restaurant, but the food was for our little one. I even asked if we could just have a plate and we could put the food on it so no one would know he was eating food from some where else, but there was no compromise. The food there is great so the poor rating is not for the food but for the lack of understanding. As a customer that ate there often, primarily take out as I have three kids whom all do sports, I would have liked to seen a little customer loyalty, maybe a hey we will let you order this time but please dont bring it in again. A good manager would understand we didnt bring in food from another place as an insult, we just wanted to enjoy the best pizza in town at the actual restaurant for once rather than having to once again take it home. I assumed a place that appeared to be aimed for families would have been more accommodating.......disappointed. Thanks for your response but you were wrong in your response. My six year old was the only one who had food ,not two of us. This was made clear when I spoke directly with Managment. I find it funny how you choose to alter facts to make your side seem better. I understand there are policies. All businesses have policies but exceptions can always be made to accommodate a customer. As you can tell I didnt say anything negative about the staff or the policy....just the lack of customer service for loyal customers. I am just glad there are other Uncle Joe's establishments I can patron as the one off of Old Seward does not have management that is skilled in customer service. Shame on you for misrepresenting the situation.

The best pizza in Anchorage! You can also get sandwiches, stromboli, baked sandwiches, Italian and gyros. There's live music on Tuesday nights. There's a total family atmosphere. Everyone is welcome. Last year my daughter planned to have her 19th birthday outside. It ended up being too windy. I called everywhere, but being last minute nobody was available. They accommodated and made her feel like her day was still special. The food is always delicious. Everyone should eat at Uncle Joe's!

Called to ask a simple question about take out and I got rude answer from a snotty little brat. What a joke!! I’ve lived in Anchorage for 40 years and stayed away from this place because others have told me how rude they were. Figured I’d finally give them a chance, and without fail they delivered nothing but the rudeness that I was told to expect. They will never get my business and I will make sure to recommend everyone to never give them any of their business! Horrible! Wish there was a negative star rating!

I ordered two pizzas they told me an hour to an hour and 15 minutes for delivery. Called there store after an hour and 20 minutes they still had the pizza at there store. If you want a pizza same day this may not be the place for you.

Came in on a Sunday, place was empty. Bartender/server was goofing off, which was fine because it was empty. People should goof off when there's nothing to do. I order a meatball stromboli, and sit down with a beer. 25 minutes later, no sign of my food. I asked her, politely, just to confirm that my food is on the way. She confirmed, although she put something in to the order station right after that. 15 minutes later, 40 minutes total, no food. A large party has come in, and gotten all of their food. They had clearly ordered ahead. I asked again slightly more forcefully: it's been 40 minutes...is this on the way? She told me the party's order was backing things up. I said "I wish you had told me. 40 minutes is an abnormal amount of time to wait for food." She replied that orders take at LEAST 30 minutes. So there you have it folks. Don't order a baked sub at Uncle Joe's unless you have at least 30 minutes.

Pizza is good .... That's all I can say. Service is terrible. Eventhough they offer inside dining they run around as if they dont' know what to do. We waited 10 minutes before we had any help. We had to ask for menus. 15 mins later they come and take our order. We had to ask for silverware. We had to ask for condiments. I want to play some games but the change machine was broke. I went to the counter for change and was told only the manager could open the cash register. They were not busy at all either. I don't get it ....

My wife and I will be taking our business elsewhere from now on. After receiving our order my wife discovered some very long hairs in her pizza- disgusting to say the least. We called and spoke to a very inconsiderate and frankly rude manager (kiara, I believe) who questioned if my wife truly got a mouthful of hair. One of the pizzas was comped but the poor customer service has officially turned us away.

I went to this pizzeria because I read a good comments about it and also because I see a lot of vehicles outside all the time...so that made me think was crowded because of the good pizza they have.....but no. I didn't like. My parents didn't liked it and my kids didn't like it either. No like the taste of bread....cheese....vegetables nothing. Not a good flavor. Also, 45 minutes to pick up a pizza. For me that's is not reasonable time.

Had mixed feelings after reading the reviews and decided to try them anyways. I had great customer service over the phone and all my questions were answered extremely polite. I also always get a specialty pizza and a basic one with just cheese. All the ingredients were fantastic and pretty much everything my family loved it. This does have corn meal on the bottom which gives it that East coast feel about the slice. Seriously no complaints and I'll be ordering again. Oh PS the pizza looks as good as the pictures on Google maps.

I love their pizzas. Uncle Joe's definitely has that "Old World" handmade pizza crust, cheese, and toppings. They have a leg up on the competition, especially the mass produced chain joints, which I tend to avoid like the Plague. If you're not in the mood for pizza, they've got lots of other dishes on the menu.
