Great place to stop and enjoy BBQ. Service was wonderful, the staff is very nice and our food was out fast. The only reason why i give it 4 stars is because there might seem like a great selection of BBQ sauce but they are all very sweet in flavor (which i like) but my boyfriend who likes spicy sauces wasn't impressed. Definitely recommend everyone to stop by if your close and feeling hungry.

Had the sliced brisket sandwich and it was really good, but the baked beans on the side were excellent. I also had cole slaw on the side but it wasn't anything special. The staff was very friendly and they had a good beer and wine selection.

Had the brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. Both were very good but the roll actually lessens the overall taste and experience. The roll makes the meat seem dry, but it isn't. It is very tasty, especially with the selection of BBQ sauces they offer at the table. Service was great, professional and wonderfully courteous.

Given that this is one of few places in alaska to get real BBQ and smoked meats, its not bad. But i do feel some of the preperation details need to be wored out to ensure over all quallity of the food.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at this little gem. We kind of randomly found this spot and so glad we did as the BBQ was excellent - and the mac & cheese delish! Great service too. Definitely recommend stopping by when you're driving along the Seward Highway.

Clean and modern rustic feel. The owner was very personable, and he made sure our large party was well taken care of. The brisket was fantastic. We were surprised to find such good BBQ up here in Alaska.

This was the first restaurant we saw when driving back from Whittier with a huge appetite. Our food came out extremely fast and was absolutely delicious. We both got the pulled pork with mac&cheese and beans. My favorite were the beans, but everything was amazing! Would highly recommend this to everyone and although we are only in Alaska for a month, we will hopefully be returning to this restaurant!

Good BBQ for Alaska. Juicy and flavorful pulled pork, moist cornbread, decent Mac and cheese. The ribs had good flavor but were a little dry, as was the brisket. I recommend trying everything with the mustard BBQ sauce. If you are around for brunch, the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The biscuits and gravy was tasty, but wasn’t served with enough gravy.

Coming from high recommendations; we expected more than what we got. First time there with guests from out of town was a big embarrassment. The service was lousy, I believe there was only one wait person. The food was terrible. The meat was cold and dry; the bread was stale, the Mac and cheese was like flavorless paste, the Caesar salad was served on a hot plate and to top it all off there was a chunk of plastic in the brisket sandwich, which we ended up not having to pay for. Maybe they were just short staffed, I don’t know but I cannot recommend this place to anyone at this time. - Kurt and Tammy Brehm

This place surprised me. The food was better and not as expensive as I thought it would be considering its location. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. The cornbread was fresh and soft, the chilli was hearty, and the beans were great too.

Their demeanor seemed as if they were being inconvenienced by helping a customer instead of providing a service. Which is a shame because I did enjoy the food. I lived the food here! The service was incredibly slow, especially when getting the check was concerned. My wife and I LOVED the vinegar-based sauce. The hot link was probably my favorite but there's no way I would pay the $4/link they were asking to take away.

The food is decent enough but if you have experience with great barbecue, you'll want to keep your expectations in check. I love BBQ so this place ends up being an oasis in Alaska's BBQ desert. What the meat lacks in perfection is made up with a solid choice of four house-made sauces including a very good Carolina mustard style.

Excellent food and very friendly wait staff! The corn bread was a bit weird, tasted like allspice and was a bit gummy. But otherwise, the pulled pork sandwich was amazing and the Mac and cheese was very creamy. The hush puppies were my favorite though! Absolutely would recommend!

Had dinner at turnagain armpit Anchorage Alaska. Nice place, clean, service was a bit slow but the food was great. Will definitely come again before I leave Alaska. Had the curly fries with the BBQ ribs off of the appetizers section of the menu. Little price for just three ribs but most things in Alaska go for a bit more than they should most days. They were cooked well, seasoned and the presentation was nice. Server/waiter was a nice guy, just slow also assumed our entire table of 8 was on one bill. We straightened it out just took a little extra time. Experience started off great and ended with being just good. The place wasn't busy at all, seating wasn't an issue and neither was ambiance. Nice large flat screen in the dining and bar areas. Ambiance music the entire time wasn't too loud or obnoxious. I do recommend this place.

It's the closest thing to Southern BBQ in Alaska, unless you eat at our house, and you're not invited...so go to Turnagain Arm Pit BBQ. I loved their Original BBQ sauce, the Old Bay really took it over the edge to greatness. We had ribs and brisket and both were decent. I wouldn't call it 100 mile BBQ, but it will do nicely when we dont have time to smoke our own briskets and butts!

The restraunt is very nicely decorated, with a great view. The staff was friendly. We ordered take out, when we started to eat, on our long drive home we discovered our sandwiches were completely dry. No sauce at all, just dry white bread & meat. So make sure you ask for sauce. The sides were small.

Outstanding greens; excellent mac n cheese, flavorful pulled pork, slightly dry bbq chicken. Though I requested and received double BBQ sauce, still the meat was dry. Beautifully done was the to-go packaging: when I told my waiter that I was driving to Seward and taking the meal onto Resurrection Bay for dinner, 8 hours and a bumpy boat ride away, the kitchen crew packed.the meal as I've never seen: each chicken breast was individually wrapped, each portion of pork the same... Nothing dripped, leaked or ran into any thing else. Plopped it into my cooler, and my friend and I enjoyed a feast in Agnes Bay on sea like glass. Thank you, Turnagain ArmPit Bbq!
