This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Hamburger restaurant.
Awesome burger. Would definitely go again. Don't be alarmed by their Cajun seasoned burgers. Mine was not hot at all. Just really good flavor. Great portion size, and not all that bad for the price (remember, this is AK so everything is going to be more expensive).
Great food! Order to go is ideal, only due to small seating area which is usually filled. Has outdoor seating for that time of year. Fries are amazing and the Halibut burger as well.
The food is always very good. But today I didn’t have a good customer service experience. I called in my order at 12 and got there about 12:10. I waited till 12:20 to ask an ETA on my food and they said another 15 minutes. It would’ve been nice to know on the phone about the 35 minute wait, when my lunch break is only an hour. I saw 3 people who came in AFTER I had arrived and gotten their food before me. The food is great but it would’ve been nice to know there was a wait. They didn’t say anything about it on the phone.
Kinda Expensive for 2 people. Chessburger n bacon cheeseburger n small fries and small onion rings and a soda. $25.25
New customer... One of the best burgers in town! Can’t wait to try more!!! YUM
Love the food , hate the wait !!! Best burger in town
After just finishing a hike in Girdwood my 14 year old son picked out this place after googling burger places in Anchorage. The burgers were great, atmosphere was funky, people friendly, nice ,laid back. They had pictures and posters of both Johnny Cash and Bob Marley.enough said. love this place
Great food and a fun / weird atmosphere. Reminds me of a place you'd find in Seattle or Portland. Burgers are big and tasty, onion rings are awesome here, and the shakes are amazing.
Waitress very friendly. Food good, lots of variety.
Best burgers in the country!
Best burgers in Anchorage, definitely a hidden gem.
Best of the best. Best burgers in town. Best staff in town
Huge amazing burgers that you can't get anywhere else
Really small. Super Greasy. Absolutely delicious. I got the Bleu Cheese burger and it was soooo goood. Be aware that it's not exactly cheap. Burger fries and drink was 17.50 plus tip
Always standing room only, best burger place in town.
Best burgers in town!
The burger here is one of the best, if not the best, in Anchorage. The prices are a little high and the service can be slow because they're always slammed, but you can't miss this if you're a fan of cheeseburgers.
Best Burger in town. Consistent, juicy, deliciousness every time.
Best traditional burgers in town. Kinda pricey if you get fries to go with, but the burgers themselves are quite hefty and always cooked to perfection. My favourites are Stella Blue and Gunslinger. If you have room, go for a shake! And while you're there, don't forget to look around and get their take on "Spenard Weird" culture.
The place itself is small and uniquely designed, the only thing is the wait. It’s always just a little too long for comfort. The burgers are a little on the small side and the onion rings were good, but the fries are just average, nothing special.
Love the seasoning on their burgers. Best in town.
Hands down the best burger in alaska
Best burgers in alaska.
Best burgers in Alaska, hands down! Amazing po boy sandwiches too. Fried shrimp po boy is my personal favorite.
Fantastic food and great atmosphere!
Only thing that'll suck is the wait. Great stuff...
Great burgers, great service, great atmosphere. Quintessential if one wants to experience anchorage
Small place but great food.
The burgers weren't bad at all they were really juicy just plain. The flavor if any all came from the extra peppers and ingredients between the patty and bun. I'm more of a flavorful meat rather then trying to hide the plain in the peppers but not bad not worth a 4 star but the service was pretty good friendly and even held my order as I went to make an errand run. Good service, ok burgers, plenty to add onto the burger, and also they took my onion allergy seriously (which I dont get often) and there wasnt even a trace of onion ring flavor on my fries. HUGE KUDOS for that one.
Best hamburgers, best onion rings, fabulous beef cheese steaks. The indoor dining area is small but clean and comfortable. There is outdoor seating which is far less cramped on a busy day, which is most days. If you take the food home, know that the fries don't travel well, they get that cold potato flavor and texture. But every thing else is still fanatic 20 minutes after being given to you.
Always awesome. A landmark
I'm not a regular burger eater but when I finally allow myself to have one, this is the place. The sweet Charlotte is excellent as is anything with the roasted grilled Chili's. The people who work here or just awesome. There's very little room to sit down and eat in the winter but in the summer they have outdoor tables. The only bummer about the outdoor seating is you can be visited upon by some vagrant types, who are harmless and will go away if you're polite but some people might be offended by that
I picked this place as my weekly cheat meal and hot damn, the bacon cheeseburger blew me away. I’ve only been in Alaska for like 3 weeks and I’ve been on the fence with going out to eat because every where I’ve has been lacking serious quality. These guys didn’t disappoint, best burger I’ve had in like 3 years.
The best burgers in town. Absolutely. The service isn't fancy but they are always nice and know what they're doing. Especially fun in summer on their deck
Great food, best burger in town. Peanut butter milkshakes. Only thing is, it's hard to actually get in for an order, the actual dining area is tiny, but charming.
Best burgers in town, by far!!! Limited inside seating, bring a jacket during the spring and you’ll be fine with outside seating.
Burgers weren’t the best quality. They weren’t cooked well and had a rubber feel to them. The toppings and sauces masked the flavor of the burger.
From coming to Alaska for the first time and trying to find local food that you won't get anywhere else Tommy's Burger stop is a 10/10 recommendation from me besides it being a little cramped inside the restaurant it self they do have outdoor seating which once it gets a little warmer I would assume is amazing. The food was priced well for the size of the burger that was ordered. While here for the 3 weeks I am I plan on going back there for sure before I leave
Heard so many good things about this place so decided to try. Love the atmosphere, the fries were good. The burger....yuck. I was looking forward for that cajun flavor they claim is in the meat.....there was no seasoning at all, just a very bland, very pale looking burger. Maybe went in on an off day? I'm not sure I would try again because I got really sick after eatting the burger and couldn't hold anything down until the next day, kinda ruined all burgers for me for awhile. Next time I'm craving a burger I'll go to Red Robin's, they never disappoint!
Great service, amazing burgers
If you like big burgers and you cannot lie, Tommy's Burger Stop is your spot. The shakes and onion rings in particular are fantastic. Onion rings are one of the best I've ever had. So crispy, light and melt in your mouth. We had the peanut butter shake and strawberry shake. The strawberry shake was good, but the peanut butter was a home run. So rich and with a strong peanut butter taste, the shake was to die for.
Best burgers in town. Run by the same people who own Double Musky.
Very good burgers. Plenty of toppings to choose from, and they aren't skimpy in using them. Not a lot of seating, but it is a good vibe.
The food was absolutely amazing! It's small but comfortable, even when it's packed to the max. The atmosphere is very interesting and there is alot of local artwork on the walls.
Love the food. Love the staff.
Tommy's is the go-to lunch option for anything burger in Anchorage! Awesome service and great food always keeps this place busy.
First time visiting Alaska and heard this is the best spot in town and they were absolutely right. It's a small place but so worth it. It's ridiculously delicious!
Delicious food! Well worth the wait!

Best.Burger.In.Anchorage! Very attentive and friendly service and yummiest Scooby Snacks in Spenard. Limited seating. Who cares...I might actually crawl across broken glass to get a Tommy's burger. Hope it doesn't come to that, but don't push me! EAT AT TOMMY'S OR THE PUPPY GETS IT. THIS IS NOT AN EMPTY THREAT. **it's your favorite kind of puppy, I promise...just eat the burger.
Funky little shack with killer burgers and shakes. Worth the wait.
Big burger, great taste, good toppings. Enjoyed it!
Worth the wait, very busy place. Huge burgers.
One of my favorite burger spots in Anchorage!
The ladies working the register are always perfect. Me and my coworkers eat here about once a week and no matter what you order you will be pleased.
This place is pure gold. A for real burger spot. Cherry coke floats, serious cheeseburgers, soul, smiles. Fresh everything. I love you like a fat kid loves cake
Amazing burgers, wonderful pies! I would recommend to order for takeout, because they don't have much space to eat inside in winter. In summer you can enjoy your food outside - they set up tables in their fenced yard.
Omg! An amazing burger & the peanut butter milkshake was so yummy. The best burgers, fries & milkshakes in town.
Ran well crowded place great food !
One of the best burgers in town. Try the RLE Hello
Always a 5! Best burgers in town
Great size great value and it's been voted number one for a billion years now
First visit and enjoyed everything about Tommy's Burger Shop. Food was tasty and freshly cooked. The menu has quite a few items available making a return visit a must. Seating is limited inside and outside seating is available.
Best burgers around
Good food, limited seating. Good food is Popular so dont expect a seat during lunch or dinner. They only have 3 tables so expect to take out! I suggest thier philly salad with the sweet Teriyaki sauce, it's worthy :)
I moved out of state 2 years ago. I haven't had Tommy's since. When we made plans to visit I asked them to make my favorite burger, the Big Poppa, the weekly special. I'm pleased to say that they did it for me. It was so good, I am so happy. In my opinion, and I am a burger officianado, they have the BEST burger in Alaska!
Amazing burgers!
Awesome burger place where the locals eat at in Anchorage. I ordered the spot hamburger and co-workers ordered the Aloha burger. The burgers are bigger than normal size, well seasoned and very juicy, with a side of fries, it is a great meal and very well priced. They also have po-boy sandwiches. It has limited seating inside, but very authentic, also there is an outside eating area. This is an excellent choice to eat if you want a tasty burger.
One of the best places to grab a bite to eat. If you're going during lunch and dinner time rush, is definitely a grab and go. Very limited seating but you won't be disappointed
Tommy's is a small place, but does steady business. Burgers are tasty, would have preferred medium rare. Onion rings, a bit on the bland side. Shakes are okay, on the small side for the price. Limited seating, but overall not a bad place for lunch.

Super tasty burgers at a reasonable price. Cool, creative menu. My only complaint is that they don't have enough seating.
Best burger in town, period.
Amazing food, great staff, and fun atmosphere. Long wait but expected for such fantastic quality food.
If you've ever seen this place and said to yourself "Some other time" now is that time. Call in for a pick up or dine in if you like people. Amazing service, amazing food...amazing everything.
Bit of a wait but WELL worth it! Will keep eating here!
Great food but prices are about $1.50 too high. $8 for a cheeseburger is excessive. Fries are delicious though, and $2 for a small and $4 for a large is a bit high, but the portions are a good size. I do think the large should be $3.50, so you feel like you're getting a deal. Service was good, staff is very friendly and nice.
The philly was tasty. You'll need extra napkins or somewhere you can wash your hands. A bit overpriced for the size, as you'll probably need to order a side to satisfy the hunger. The burgers are good, better than fast food, but not more special than other burger joints. You'll wait a minimum 30 minutes, which is a long time for a simple one item order. The staff is nice, the seating is minimal, and it is usually crowded. It is enjoyable as long as you plan accordingly.
Always enjoy my time here. Great people and food. They usually have some crazy delicious special.
It's ok. Loads of folks love it. Was packed.
The burger was delicious. And the rings needed a sauce but overall very nice presentation
Tommy's has a great 'mom and pop' family style burger joint. It wasn't my favorite burger place in anchorage, but a very good alternative. The burgers had a "bubba's burgers" kinda feel to them(but better). The "sweet charolette" was more salty taste than sweet. Which kinda threw me off. Was very good, But menu said "so sweet". French fries were on point, lightly seasoned and fried just right, didn't even need ketchup. Definitely a place to visit. The service was wonderful, and food tasted good, only reason not 5/5 is I felt mislead by menu.
This is obviously a very highly rated place and I've heard over and over that it's a good spot. I definitely had to come try for myself. Maybe it's just during the winter, but seating is hard to come by. The few small tables there are get quickly filled and those who are waiting for one circle like vultures... so much so that customers seat themselves before the tables get wiped down. There also isn't a lot of room to navigate or wait after you've ordered. That was really the only negative I had to say about it. Wife and I ordered and managed to get a table after about 10 minutes during the lunch rush. Lots of folks waiting in their cars for orders to go and even more running in to pick up ones they called in. Service was very slow overall... orders piled up and most waited 30-40 minutes to get theirs. While we waited, we browsed the decor. Lots of random duct tape, stickers, and memorabilia from Star Wars, Elvis, etc. One review said it felt like the place was decorated by a teenager from the early 2000's. I'd have to agree. When we finally got our food, it was hot and fresh and loaded. I had the RLE burger and small onion rings, and I hated myself for the entire day after eating it. Really, really good... and portioned bigger than I expected. Onion rings were good and the fries were okay. The sauces are cheaply priced and delicious. If I had one complaint about the burger it was that it isn't really seasoned. The toppings and other items on the burger made up for it in the end. It's worth a try. We will be calling in an order next time and give a few of the other options a go.
Really enjoyed my bacon cheeseburger. Only issue is the solace is so cramped and my burger and fries took 40 minutes. Because they do take out. Very delicious comfort food.
I love this quirky hole-in-the-wall dive! The burgers are huge, high quality and have amazing topping combinations. I’m a fan of the Big Poppa, Stella Bleu, and Gunslinger. The beer battered onions rings and double musky pie are also my go to choices here. It’s a dive so seating is minimal, but most customers are super chill and friendly so it’s easy to squeeze in and share space. The staff is always friendly and welcoming too.
I was extremely pleased! I haven't had a good Philly cheesesteak in yrs (i lived in Philly for several yrs).Tommys blew me away! Their onion rings were out of this world too!
If you let the fries sit in the Styrofoam too long they aren't good. Get the onion rings if you are getting delivery or take out, they do better in the Styrofoam. Good burger with decent amount of bacon. Call and order and it's ready when you get there too.
Nice, small burger joint. Great food and friendly staff. Now, that's a tasty burger!
Stop on by for burgers. They are not made with Tommys but normal burger meat.
Good but nothing special
Great burgers. Local place. Hard to find for us from out of town, but worth it
Hands down the best burgers in Anchorage. Very few indoor seating options, but they have a nice outdoor patio with additional tables. It gets busy on weekends and weekdays after 5, but is well worth any wait.
We enjoyed a leisurely late lunch sitting outside. While you will not go wrong with any burger on the menu, the halibut po boy is huge and delicious. The milkshakes are thick and creamy and a good compliment to your meal.
Always great service. Dining area is a bit small but the food is worth it
Don't judge by the fact that it is a small hidden spot quick service good food
Nice location neat your favorite sins lol. Good burgers but waited kinda long.
Classic burger joint, would most definitely recommend
Yuuuuuuuummy juicy
Great flavor. Food cooked fresh, so there will be a wait. Small dining area, but you can sit outside and enjoy.
Best burger in town. Try the specials
This was my first time at Tommy's Burger Stop and I was impressed. The restaurant is very small inside so don't be surprised if you can't find a table immediately. There is outside seating available, weather permitting. I had the Papa D Burger and it was excellent. I ordered my food to go and had to wait about 30 minutes for my food. The do take call in orders so I would recommend calling ahead if you're planning on getting your good to go. I was very happy with the service I received, as well as the pricing on their menu. (Heads up though, the prices shown online are outdated and actual prices are a little higher.)
Great food and fast service. Big thanks!
Juicy Sweet Charlotte....
Soooooo good. Cheeseburger Po Boy with bacon. And onion rings. Just yum.
Been a few months since I had been here last and I am happy to report they are just as good as ever.
Good burgers but the French fries need help!! Taste dry and old like it been cooked too long.. I would come for the burgers when I visit again back to Anchorage
Amazing burgers! Hands down best in Anchorage! Great decor and service. I definitely recommend Tommy's Burger Stop.
I can't believe I hadn't already reviewed Tommy's. It's my favorite burger in town, the phillies are also awesome, and it has a great hole-in-Spenard vibe. Call your order in early for lunch hour, they get busy.
Great service! Was really busy even up to closing point. Food was delicious! There was a lot to choose from. Small and unique shop! The Raspberry coke was a surprise! Burger was melty and juicy delicious!
Good food overall. I got the gunslinger burger which was the perfect combination of size and flavors. Kind of a long wait, but the call in orders that I saw were ready for their customers when they showed up.
Cannot tell you how good this place is. Everything melts in your mouth! Onion rings did not need dip! Papa Ds Burger was to die for. This quirky atmosphere and fun staff made it that much more inviting. Next time I go I am definitely trying the Fruity Pebbles Milk Shake though!
Everything here is top notch. Burgers are terrific, can never go wrong with anything on the menu. They occasionally have specials which are fun and delicious. Fries are always made fresh and are seasoned very well. Even the smoothies can't be missed. Really good stuff. Sometimes a bit of a wait, but always worth it!
One of my favs for take-out. It's too tight to be comfortable to eat inside so unless it's a nice day and you can eat outside, the best option is to take the food to eat elsewhere. The food is delicious! I like the Burger Stop Burger and fries or The Cold Chef Salad. I've also tried the Stella Bleu Burger and the Beef Philly and those were great, too. The desserts are a yummy way to end the meal, if you still have room. I recommend either the Cajun Delight or the Double Musky.
A lot of different and very good burgers. The employees are fun and good.
Burgers and shakes are fantastic. Great find
Great service all employee had great smiles on them. Love the style inside. Burger was amazing will be going back. Alot of these local restaurants need to take notes from Tommy's.
First time eating here. I ordered for pick up. It was quick. The patty was soooooo moist and soft. Almost like the patty melted in my mouth. Looking forward to trying more on the menu
Local joint, Awesome burger, I got the "sweet charlotte". Nice folks working there.
Great price, good portions, I'm a fan of the less is more environment they've got.
OH YEAH! This place! It's so small and has the flavor in it's food that any foodies looking for. Friendly hard working staff and portions are fairly good. Burgers like these are hard to find and the inside of the place has some amazing decorations for the eyes. I felt as if I was eating at a ocean beach side hole in the wall. I loved this experience and I am going to rave about it to everyone I know.
Got my meal quickly and it tasted great
Amazing food, just expect a bit of a wait and a tight squeeze it's a small place
I'll always keep coming back for the best Philly in Anchorage! Been coming here since the original owner Ron was making them 18 years ago and it was a pleasure meeting Tommy! He has kept the best of the old and made it become a must stop place when ever I can get to Anchorage! It's worth the wait and you are not going to be disappointed.
Always good
Good food overall. I got the gunslinger burger which was the perfect combination of size and flavors. Kind of a long wait, but the call in orders that I saw were ready for their customers when they showed up.
Best burger place in town. You get sooooo much for the price. The place is small so indoor sitting is a tight pack but in the summer they have outdoor seating. Their burgers are so juicy it doesnt feel like I can have a heart attack while eating. Their Phillies are tightly packed though and also good. Basically anything you get at this place you will not be disappointed.
Best burgers in town by far! Unique flavor, juicy meat, fresh veggies, and a bit small of a place but worth every penny!
We stopped in on a Friday night and the place was packed (not hard because there is very limited seating in the winter). Luckily a couple finished up and we got a table right before your food was ready. Smells better than it tastes. I would skip this and head to Smash Burger next time.
Best burger place in alaska
Great service and food. I wish they had better drinks selection but I love the feel and family looks business. Food tastes just perfect. Will come again.
My daughter and I love this place! Consistently juicy, delicious burgers! Love both their fries and onion rings! Just expect during busy eating hours that waiting can be up to 25 to 30 minutes. So either call in an order or expect to wait. Well worth the wait though!
Love the small size. The burgers, while not hand pressed, were delicious. The staff are a bunch of friendly people, very hempful. I would definitely go again.
One of the best hole in the wall eating spots in Anchorage. Really enjoy there burgers and Poboys. I eat there at least 2 times a month. Lunch and dinner. Seating is tight in the fall winter so come early for lunch and dinner. They have outdoor seating during spring summer and early fall. Real ice cream shakes hand made.
So much better than the box burgers like Mac and such.
Delicious burger, great setting. Outdoor seating. Carrot cake was solid. Staff were friendly.
Really good but....my bun was cold as was the food. In their defense, the place was REALLY busy. I will try them again.
By far my favorite burger joint in Anchorage and the staff is always entertaining
Best hole in the wall burger stop I've ever been to. Had it on my birthday and it was the highlight of the day
Friendly people and delicious food
The Halibut Po' Boy was amazing! Honestly the best Po' Boy I've ever eaten. The onion rings were great as well. Legit home style instead of frozen prepackaged. I only wish I could have tried one of the burgers which looked amazeballs but alas I was too full.
Slow service, but good burger.
Tasty burger! Very busy though...
Great burgers! My suggestion is to call your order in. Waits can be 20 min sometimes
Best burgers and omg.!.. that shrimp po boy sandwich was sho good and it was a big sandwich.
Best burgers in Anchorage. I check the specials weekly. Wish they were better at posting said specials though. That said the "Phat Tuesday" is the best special in my book.
We've been saying for 2 years, let's try this spot, it's supposed to be really good. And guess what, it was AWESOME!! They only have 4 tables so everyone is cozy. The gal taking order tood one after another for a solid 30 minutes non stop. We shouldn't have waited so long. It's a must stop place. Oh except if you struggle to finish a regular burger you'll only be able to eat half of the gunslinger, so they make mini versions of all their burgers.

Fries are always made fresh and are seasoned very well. Even the smoothies can't be missed. Really good stuff. Sometimes a bit of a wait, but always worth it!
One of the best local burger joints in town. Never been disappointed.
The food is great and the people are too
the food was really good. but i feel bad for the people that work there with the abuse they must go through from the people in the casino.
I love the food andthe casher was so nice i would ho their just to c her smile face
With all the raving reviews, you'd think it'd be one of the best burger joints you've ever tried in your life. Sadly, I was disappointed. We tried 2 different specialty burgers, fries, onion rings and chicken nuggets which took about 30 mins which we didn't mind the wait. It was so-so. We will give their po-boys a try next time but if it's okay as well...then we won't be going back there anymore.
Best Burgers in town! I took my parents, from CO, to try it out. Two of us ordered the Aloha Burger, the other ordered the Sweet Charlotte. All of us ordered onion rings, and we left very satisfied and with leftovers.
Average Review for an average burger. 30 min wait for this burger wasn’t worth it. If you got some time in your hands and don’t mind the wait go for it. Staff is friendly and I had a lot of time to look at the decor, which looks like a teenager from the 00’s decorated it. The atmosphere was great. All five of the tables in the place were clean.
Best burger's in Anchorage hands down, no other places come close. This was the 1st place anyone ever recommended to me in town as a place I have to go to before I leave. It's small on the inside but doesn't take away from the awesome work being done.
Amazing burgers, i love the food here its one of the best burgers in Anchorage. The seating is horrible and way undersized but they sure make up for it with that mouth watering burger.. the service is always freindly. I hope that this amazing and funky burger stop stays in business forever because i love there burgers.
Super delicious food. Small place but worth the visit. Everything was fresh and seasoned. Great food, even the bean burger.
Staff is super nice and I had the R.L.E Hello Burger and its one of the best burgers I've ever had!
The best burger stop in town no doubt.
Great burgers and very friendly service
Best burgers in anchorage! Friendly staff great service
Always great takes a while but we all know that best burger in town
Very delicious. Best fries in town and the Aloha burger was yummy.
