Great atmosphere. Expansive beer selection, especially of local crafts. The food menu is robust and has something for everyone, so much so it's difficult to pick just one thing to get. Definitely would recommend and go back to try not food and more beer. I got the Great Alaskan pizza (Rhode Island size...aka small) and was still not able to finish it by myself. Plenty of TVs for enjoying sports and a nice dining area that is separate from the bar area to reduce sound. Were it a bit warmer out, I'm sure the large outside seating area would've been nice to enjoy as well.

Nice sports bar to watch the game and get interesting foods. Had the reindeer hotdogs and my friend had buffalo (or bison?) burger which was equally as delicious. Good drafts on tap as well.

I have been coming here for over 2 years. At first the food was ok and didn't come again until about 5 months later. When I came back the atmosphere and food seemed better and just continued to. But at my last visit the servers were slammed and took a while to get to us. Overall, good food, good choice of beer, prices are typical of Alaskan restaurants and a good atmosphere.

Place was at near capacity when we arrived just after 6pm on a Friday night. The wait staff said it would be a 5-15 minute wait, we waited ten. For a staff that was busy, the service was promptly provided and the meal was presented in a very timely manner. Throughout the meal our drinks were refilled without ever going empty. Everyone at our table received the meal they ordered without any issues. Staff was friendly and helpful. We dined on the restaurant side of the Banks. Only thing I would change is the booth lighting, I think it could be softer.

I go here for the number of TVs and the surround sound system for watching sports. I love the nachos and the spicy shrimp salad. There are 40 different beers on tap. If you like these things then this place is for you. I'm not giving them 5 stars only because sometimes (not always) their wait staff can be inattentive.

My husband and I came here for date night on a Sunday evening. The Banks always looked so snazzy on the outside but when we walked in we discovered it is better classified as a family restaurant. There were children everywhere. The inside was pretty clean but so very loud that we could hardly have a conversation. I got a Moscow Mule which was pretty good. Nothing crazy special. My husband got their sweet tea which was also just okay - we are from the south where the tea is very sweet and strong. Their tea was like a mellow version. The veggie burger was very good - it must be that new impossible burger because it tasted and looked more like meat than any veggie burger I've ever had! Even my Husband, the meat eater between the two of us, was impressed. The ceasar salads were good too. Overall it was a pretty okay experience, but nothing to write home about. Great for kiddos though I suppose.

I have eaten here many times over the last few years. Overall, the food is excellent for the price. Diners can expect large portions with full flavor. Entrees and sauces taste home-made, and garlic heightens many dishes. My personal favorites are The Ultimate Southern Burger (a delicious mess), and Dry Rub Wings. The waitstaff consistently seat us promptly and cheerfully attend our needs throughout the meal. I rarely find myself disappointed at the end of my visit. The only reason I deduct a star is food consistency. The food is never bad, but a few occassions have found an entree lacking in flavor or proper cook. I still visit several times per year, and happily recommend The Banks Alehouse to my friends and neighbors.

So normally, when you've found the third giant curlicue of hair in your food, you expect the manager to come over... Maybe say something like "I apologize profusely, we're making sure everyone is wearing hair nets, let me comp one of your drinks..." That wasn't the case here. After thoroughly losing our appetite, sending back two plates, and letting our waitress know that we were done with the restaurant, they still wanted us to pay for the 90% uneaten nachos and we had to ask for the manager to get any sort of "we've taken steps to fix it/I'm sorry." The Banks might have had us come back if they'd handled things differently, but the lack of care has well and truly ensured we won't be back.

The food was excellent! My wife had their Mac and Cheese dinner, my son had their Maui Pizza and my daughter had a Pepperoni Pizza. Each said they loved their food and I got one would agree after sampling each of their dishes. As good as their food was my Ultimate Southern Hamburger was by far the best meal at the table. Of course I like spicy food so if you don't you might want to try the another dish.

The quality of this restaurant has consistently grown worse in the past 3 years that I’ve lived in Fairbanks. Just received delivery for my wife and I, her choice being fish and chips. The fish and chips is already $25 which is pricey in my opinion, but my wife loves it, especially the tartar sauce. Not only did the fish and chips show up cold and in a crushed, soggy container, it also did not come with any tartar sauce (as it is advertised) even though I requested extra on their ordering app. This is the 3rd time we have received an order with multiple deficiencies as I’ve described, but this has been undoubtedly the worst experience thus far. Would not recommend this restaurant unless you want to walk away from your meal frustrated and unsatisfied.

The good: The Banks has a pretty respectable selection of Alaska beers. There's a pretty good cocktail selection as well. The food is mostly prototypical brewpub fare, with some requisite Alaskan flair (buffalo, reindeer, elk, salmon, halibut) on the menu. They make one of my favorite burgers, which from their menu is described as: "beer battered and breaded classic patty, crispy lettuce, sliced tomato, mayonnaise, bacon, pickled jalapenos, topped with an over easy fried egg and mother ale cheddar queso" which happens to be awesome, but very filling, so go on an empty stomach. You can substitute sweet potato fries, or a few other things, including a kale caesar salad, which can help you feel better about having eaten that massive burger. Generally a decent place to bring family or other people when you're having a hard time on agreeing what to eat. The not so good: The wait times can be slow, and a bit of the menu borrows from the Boston's that this was a previous franchisee of. The pizzas I've had have been unimpressive, and the beer menu is rarely up to date with what's actually on tap. If you're bringing kids, the kid's menu lacks any option aside from the typical spaghetti, chicken nuggets, burger, pizza assortment of items. How hard is it to make something for children with vegetables in it? Not everyone wants to feed kids just meat, cheese, and bread. All in all, a decent place to go for a beer and some grub, just don't expect you'll be wowed.

Went for an early dinner with friends on memorial day. It took 10 minutes to get menus and we had to take them from the waitress stand to get them. 6 of the 8 beers we tried to order off the menu were out. Food took 25 minutes and they completely forgot one person's order. Halibut tacos were good but the halibut piece was about an ounce per taco; for 14 bucks I expected a little more halibut. My water was empty for 15 minutes until I went ahead and took a pitcher of water from the staging are near the bar.

Love this place. Its my husband and my favorite spot to eat in Fairbanks. I get the pork sandwich and get gets the ultimate southern burger. Both are excellent. They have the best French onion soup either of us has ever had. Service is always excellent, and the food and drinks domt disappoint.

This place is a hit or miss. But mainly a miss. We've been there a handful of times and the only reason I go there is for their buffalo burger. This last time is what drove me to write a review. We ordered the chili con queso and it came out cold and stale. When we asked for new chips, we ended up getting charged for them. My husband ordered the steak pasta and specifically asked for it without mushrooms and after waiting almost an hour for our food (less than five tables had people) it was brought out with mushrooms. So we waited another 10 minutes for his food to be brought out again. This place is horrible.

Depending on what you get, I got the chicken bacon ranch pizza, it had broccoli on it.. I didn't expect it to be as delicious as it was. Make sure you have a napkin on that one, your fingers are gonna get a bit greasy trying to hold up the pizza.. Would have liked larger cups, but they come around and refill when it's needed. Overall not bad, I'm stuffed!

We ordered food our for delivery, and it did not exceed or even meet expectations. I ordered 2 orders of ribs which are $28.99 a piece, and they came cold, not seasoned, and with maybe a splash of barbecue sauce on them. (I had to season, add barbecue sauce and put them in the oven). We had to call back because our order as messed up and it seemed as if it was an inconvenience to them to fix our order. I understand places get busy, but we spent over $70.00 on delivery plus tip. I really feel that for the price we paid, it should have way been better. I work in hospitality and people ask me where to eat at all the time, this is a place I will not recommend to anyone.

I heard great reviews about this place, but I didn't have a great experience. I ordered the salmon burger, with sweet potato fries, and a house salad to start. I've already lowered my expectations for the produce because we're in Alaska, but the salad looked like it was prepared from the night before and the bowl was cold to the touch and the mainly iceberg lettuce was damp, indicating that the entire dish had been refrigerated for quite some time.... But things got worst, after a few bites of my salad a pleasantly plump fruit fly crawled from inside my bowl, on to the table, and shook his wings off twice before taking off to invite him and his friends to hangout with me for the remainder of my meal. The restaurant was kind enough to comp the salad, and my sandwich was decently priced, but the restaurant had a feeling of overall uncleanliness.

I had to go to the bar instead of someone checking on me for a beer each time I wanted one after the first one I ordered, I just walked up to get my third. I then had to go again to the bar to get a menu. I am still sitting here waiting to see if anyone will come over to take my order as the people working here are at the end of the bar chatting it up. This is the second day in a row I have been here for super with my son and me as it is close to our hotel. For super for my son and I have spent over $100.00 and have had what I consider awful service. The food has been good hence one star. I just got my food and had to ask for a fork and knife as the waiter walked away. This is my first review ever as I have never felt the need to do this until tonight. I am still here eating I hope it gets better.

Well, for a quick review it's ok, somewhat! I ordered a smokehouse burger that comes with shredded pork and a deep fried cheese wheel according to the menu. To say the least, it came with the least of each item. Maybe a teaspoon of shredded pork and a thin slice, yes slice of cheese deep fried. Now normally I wouldn't care much but since I ordered it for the cheese wheel and I get a thin slice you can imagine the disappointment. For the quality it was overpriced and underwhelming. I also ordered the spinach and artichoke dip which seemed watered down. Overall, I will not return or recommend this resturant.

The food can be inconsistent but mostly it’s very good. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it’s all good. Once we ordered the nachos and they seemed to skimp a bit on the toppings and we mentioned it to our server and they took care of it right away. I like to sit in the bar side even if I don’t plan on drinking alcohol because of the fun atmosphere. They have many TVs with various sports playing and they have large booths or high top tables. The bartender, Brian is the best in town.

They weren't busy at all but service was still very slow. As in, sat for almost 20 minutes before our order was taken. Then almost 15 more minutes before I got the beer I ordered- I reminded him when he walked by. The food wasn't bad, but my brisket was a little tough. My daughter ordered a root beer float but got a plain root beer. We did not notice it right away but our waiter didn't come back for so long that by the time he did, she had just gone ahead and drank the root beer. Seems like it could've been good, hoping we just caught them on a bad day

This was my first visit to Banks Alehouse, it was suggested by one of our Distributors. Our service was provided by Douglas, "she" was off the hook. She checked on us pretty regularly and always had a smile! Food was ok but the presentation was lacking a bit, drinks were great and Douglas made it all worth while, she is intelligent, conversational and a great listener! Thank you Banks Alehouse, it was a great evening!

Place was not crowded, but 30 mins just to get menus. The halibut tacos had almost no fish in them. They forgot to put in one of the people at the tables food. They are an Alehouse that is out of almost every beer they claim to have.

The food here is wonderful and extremely generous in its portions, in general. I had the Wedge salad and the bacon was really hard and the dressing not that good. But everything else we ordered was phenomenal. I give it the three star rating because our waiter was awful. He barely visited our side of the room after taking our order. There were only three tables seated. The food came out at a perfect amount of time. We flagged down another person to get us water. Another to bring us silverware. Another for the check. I would have given it a 5 star rating had the service not been so terrible.

The food just keeps getting worse! I showed my waitress a big black hair in my coleslaw and she didn't even bother to have a manager talk to me. Just brought me the check. I wasn't looking for food to be comped just thought maybe it needed to be brought to someone's attention, or maybe toss it out and start fresh.

Upgraded to the buffalo fries, which was the saving grace of the meal - 100% worth the extra $3. Wife had the patty melt. Meat was unseasoned, the bread had more flavor. My porterhouse burger was little better. Pretty high prices, but the atmosphere is nice. Warning: not a fluffy friendly establishment. Booth seats are narrow and the tables cant be moved. The bar has high wooden seats. Service overall was decent.

I’ve eaten here twice in the past few months. I wasn’t very impressed with our pub food the first time, but the second was better. The burger was good but fries were average. They do have a very large selection of local, Alaskan, and international beers available and large screens for sports.

I had heard this place was hit or miss and that the service really sucked but I wanted to try it out, at first when we walked up there were two girls who looked at me and my boyfriend and they continued to talk like we weren't there and then sat us, not a long wait but they were rude, but then we got a really sweet server (I'm a server and I could tell management haven't taught them basic things I was the first week at my job) but she was good, and very prompt in drinks order ,and the check which was very nice. My boyfriend ordered the halibut tacos and I'm not sure if they were supposed to be cold or warm but they were cold, even the meat. My pasta was barely above room temperature, it wasn't hot enough to melt the cheese on the top, but the spinach artichoke dip was incredible, oh my Lord, id go back just for that, soooo good and the blueberry cheesecake so good, all the food was great but temperature is important and they didn't have it

My waitress was great. Served my wife, 15 month old daughter, two kids around the age of 10 and my mother-in-law. Kept our drinks filled and got and check on us the right amount of times. Thing is, I'm weird. I know I'm weird, I like to choose where I sit. I asked the lady up front if we could take the back corner. She blatantly said no, I wanted to argue but my wife and her mom asked me not to. I've never been told no on where to sit before. Not once, ever. Lady working the front was rude and put my daughter who was in a high chair in the most used route. Making me feel like I needed to eyeball every person walling by. 3 stars because of our waitress and the food was good. Would be 5 stars if my impression walking in wasn't soured.

Pretty good food. Highly overpriced. Weak cocktails. The bar is actually very nice however and the huge TV, made of a dozen 32" TV's is most likely the reason for being highly overpriced. Clean place, clean bathrooms, clean food, dirty prices ! Prices are the only reason I give it a 3 star review.

Went to the Banks Ale House tonight for Fathers Day dinner. Service was non attentive and lacked the slightest aspect of customer service. The food was below an acceptable standard as the grease in the feyer had to be old. To top it all off, the restrooms were filthy. No interest in making a return visit anytime in the next few years.

Terrific desserts! Would have given 5 stars but the heat was off in the bar area and we were freezing!!! Went through the restaurant on the way out and they were all sweating. Go figure?!? The outside temp was only around 0 so not during the bad cold.

I love this restaurant. Great food. They have never served me a bad meal. Service is just as outstanding. The halibut tacos are so good! It's a beautiful building for being casual and very popular to which you will see when you pull up. This restaurant is a sure thing.

Highly don’t recommend going to this place. The service is bad, the food is mediocre. Never have be impressed and have ate here more then one time. If you want good burgers or salads I would highly recommend Brewsters instead.

Food was cold, way too expensive for the quality and quantity. Got a Shirley Temple and the cherries tasted rotten, the burger was fine -After I mixed my own sauce to put on the dry thing- and server was slow, we literally watched him stand around for a while.

Spacious venue with ample choices and a great beer roster and dessert line up to boot! I would recommend to a friend visiting Fairbanks to check out this restaurant. I dreamt about their cookie while camping in Denali (note: cookie does not taste as good the next day)

Food has always been good, out of all the times I have came here I've only had to send my food back 2 or 3 times. But the service as of late has been so poor. The last few experiences I have had to deal with the server having a bad day which led to a bad attitude towards myself and people I come to eat with. It's not every server, but those who are in the upper management positions. I have caught one to many bad attitudes to give this place more than 3 stars. Hopefully someone higher up will see this and they will fix their attitudes towards their customers.

Ordered the brisket and also tried the ribs. Both had good flavor and great sauce. Brisket is cut super thin and smothered in sauce, so it’s not a traditional style thick cut. Ribs were tender and juicy. The Mac n cheese was lacking flavor, and the coleslaw was average. Sweet potato fries, nachos, fried pickles and cheese fries were amazing!

By far my most favorite restaurant in all of Alaska. Locally hunted food makes for some excellent burgers. Broken up into 2 separate sides, one for the bar/restaurant and the other for family friendly dining. Making you feel comfortable is what gives The Banks a 5 star every time.

Service was great! She was so patient and helped my pick my best four for a tasting flight of local beers. Great veggie burger but my dinner dates had (inhaled) the pizza which looked so good. Nice, roomy atmosphere and some booth seating for private discussion.

First time, last time. Where do i begin. Showed up looking forward to a great restaurant experience, not what happened. Alot of the beer on the menue was not available. The tables bar side were either dirty or wet, plates left out, empty glasses everywhere. The floors have not been cleaned in a while I'd say. A friend ordered a soup, instead got a plate of potatoes. Another, orderd a kale salad and got a salad with lettuce. Another, ordered buffalo fries and got normal fries.My meal was slapped toghter carelessly and mostly burnt. At least the fries tasted good. The butt can outside is now a trash can. The establishment looks great on the outside, the beer that was there was good.

It's a beautiful building, but as soon as we stepped inside I see that it needs to be cleaned up. We decided to sit in the restaurant, and we were shown to a booth that was dirty, especially the floor. We moved to a cleaner booth and we were greeted by a very friendly waitress wearing a disturbing amount of make-up. Our orders were mixed up, and of average quality. we enjoyed the quality and selection of the beer, Saving grace. They didn't seem too busy, maybe cleaning staff didn't show up?

The food is okay and has an Applebee's flair, for a few dollars more. Also, I'm certain this is the worst service I've had in Fairbanks. I gave it three chances and the service was absolute garbage each time.

I been here a few times but my favorite meal was the Brisket Dinner. It reminded me of my dads cooking back home. Loved it!
