Great variety large portions
Best Sushi ever! The staff are very attentive and service is wonderful. A trip to Anchorage isn't complete until we have at least one meal here.
Had a terrible experience here, I pulled a fingernail out of my mouth that was in my food. I nearly threw up it was so disgusting, when I told the server she seemed very unapologetic and didn’t care, she just took the plate away and handed me the check. I’ve had friends tell me they’ve found bugs in their food and they don’t seem to care. I will never be eating there again.
Love the sushi and food!
Great food
Always good food, and always busy. Their customer service was great
My BABY was counted as an 8th person for automatic 18% gratuity. Our family was treated like a burden. Not happy.
Best sushi I've ever had. Amazing all around!!
For 3 years now I always visit Sushi & Sushi when I make a trip to Anchorage. Food is always amazing, drinks are filled to the brim and the staff are personable. Last dinner was going to be a quick bite before going back to do some work, but ended up having a great conversation with Frank at the bar even while he was serving a packed room.
Great sushi and good service
Wish I had thought to take pictures of the food. Service was great, the poki roll I got was a little too spicey for me, but everyone else loved it. The King Kong roll was delicious and gigantic! The Danny roll was my daughter's favorite. Everything was very good, and the restaurant itself is beautiful.
Tiger roll and lobster rolls were to die far. A lot nicer on the inside than you would expect. Perfect place for a Sushi date
Good place good food and good service
The menu has no prices, no photos of what your ordering. I ordered something I didn't like..
Love this place very kid friendly!
We went to Sushi and Sushi for the first time last Saturday, October 13th, and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It was busy when we got there, but that gave us time to enjoy some blackberry saki at the bar. Our server was Cullen and he did a great job with everything. I will definitely be going back!
Amazing service and outstanding sushi! They have a full gluten free menu!
The atmosphere is excellent and the service is attentive. The food is delicious. I recommend trying the chicken fried rice and the green beef! My date ordered a couple of sushi rolls, which I didn't try because I don't like sushi, but there was plenty more on the menu. He was also very happy with the quality of the food!
Love love love! Some of the best Sushi I’ve had. We usually go to Ron’s sushi, because we love their fresh sushi rolls! & they where voted best sushi place in the city. However, Sushi Sushi was NEW, modern, clean and classy. Providing a great atmosphere, as well as superb service! Dinner comes with a complementary mini soup/ salad combo and fried Oreos for desert, thus adding to the overall dining experience! The one and only negative experience is they went a lil heavy on the dressing on my salad but like I said it was complementary so no worries. The rolls have a unique flavor, absolutely delish! I know I’ll be craving them again soon! ‘Twas a great experience overall :)
Great hidden sushi and sake spot. Don't let the outside decor fool you, this strip mall hideaway contains some if the best sushi in town. Service and inside atmosphere was great, though the food was a bit pricey. Would come again.
The BEST sushi
Nice upscale restaurant in Fairbanks. Great food and quality service.
My 2 boys are both under 3yrs old are picky eaters, but they loves the noodles here and we love the sushi
Anchorage has a few different sushi places to eat at. I've been to all 3, and I think this is my least favorite. The atmosphere here is really great, it's just the food doesn't live up to the hype.
Been enjoying Sushi & Sushi for YEARS! You honestly can’t go wrong! Love it!
Delicious! Every time! Great service!
Love this place! Great food great service!
Thin. Much thinner than typical. Not marinated, small portion for the price.
One of the best sushi place around town! The atmosphere, the setting and especially the food!
Get the red flower roll and some fried Oreos for dessert. Amazing service and great experience!
Average sushi, typically what you see elsewhere in the United States. I got the salmon sashimi and AK roll. Unfortunately they fail to mention on their menu their crab is actually mixed imitation crab and real crab. You are actually supposed to mention this on the menu as fake crab is made of a cheap fish with added flavorings. Most sushi places call this krab or imitation crab on their menu. Also surprised for a sushi restaurant in Alaska there is no dish that incorporates king crab. Even in Seattle and San Francisco Alaskan king crab is used in sushi and dishes. Not here though. The fried oreos were tasty but they had 5 oreos for $5 on their menu. In fact it's 5 halves, so really only 2.5 oreos.
The food was amazing. The store was not well-lit. The wait was short. The servers and chefs were incredibly helpful.
I run the preschool two doors down and needed a quick lunch... their menu that was online listed a 'seafood tempura' however that must have been discontinued... The server who answered mocked me and asked if I called the right place... I walked the 50ft to their business and tried to place the same order, only to have the same server who laughed and said I must mean some sort of soup... I showed her the picture I took of their menu online and said that that was what I meant... She got embarrassed and apologized and took my order... I am not an idiot so I do not like to be treated like one...
It is nice and Kind.
Everything we tried was so delicious and fresh. I had the chicken lunch box, which had grilled sesame chicken, 2 dumplings, 4 PC California Roll, rice and tempura for only $15. Sampled my husband's poki roll and they will add cream cheese to any roll you want! This place was packed at lunchtime, and for good reason.
Good food, prices a little on the high side. Music was bland. Staff was polite but inattentive.
Delicious food!!! Excellent Service.... Definitely rececomend!!!
Ordered the supreme sushi boat sushi. Almost halfway through the dinner I got choked with a bone left on one of the prepared sushi! I got scared while I am trying to get the bone out (about 15 to 20 minutes I was sick! The owner came by to checked me out and asked me if I need to the hospital. The whole incident terrified me and It made me not to eat sushi at this place again!
Great sushi, great atmosphere, tempura oreos for desert-perfect!
They have your usual sushi orders, and they have spicy, which I love. The service is great. The atmosphere is peaceful. It is perfect for a date night. You can dress up or down.

Very good food and service excellent.
Excellent sushi and service for lunch. My dad and I came here to check it out for the first time and we're very happy we came! I'm focusing on food taste, though the atmosphere is hip and clean. We had the oysters, half dozen, with a tasty and mildly spicy sesame sauce. They did not taste like they'd been sitting out for any amount of time. The taste was crisp, fresh, and bright, if bright is a taste. I had the Godzilla roll, and the tempura inside the roll, the fish, and presentation were great. Usually tempura inside rolls isn't that crunchy, but this place has that nailed. Same with the quality and taste of the ingredients, which had no aftertaste of fish that I usually get from other sushi places where the fish may not have been handled, stored, or processed in a timely manner. I swiped a white tuna sashimi slice from my dad's plate and it had zero aftertaste that I usually get with white tuna. A+ on that. Finished off with green tea fried ice cream, which wasn't too sweet nor mushy. I recommend the place. I'll have to come back and see if my initial experience is repeatable.
Friendly staff, great service and good food.
Always good sushi. Never disappointed.
Good sushi. Our waiter was great. Recommended. The salmon was quite good as expected for Alaska.
S&S is so good, it really should be the only option when you're considering sushi for any occasion. Every roll is perfect and the customer service is unbeatable! Every server has always had a smile on their face because it genuinely is a great atmosphere and place to be. You'll be recommending it to everyone you know after your first time.
I liked this place when some work friends and I went there after getting back into town from our work site. They have a lot of different sushi options. Also the tempura fried Oreo's at the end of the meal were literally amazing. The exterior wasn't much to look at but don't let that stop you. You'll like it. The staff is very nice and friendly. Go here....stop making excuses.
Happening place. Don't let the exterior fool you. This place was packed and very nice inside. I got beef spare ribs that were great. My daughter's fried rice was so so. Didn't try the sushi but selection looked good.
Walked in after the lunch hour, ordered2 rolls and a bowl of soup...took 45 minutes!!! No communication about the wait, we had to ask twice when it would be done and never got a real answer "it's almost done". Food was decent...but not worth the ridiculous wait.
Great staff, great service and amazing food
Excellent sushi! We had a wide variety and it was all great. Great service too.
This was my first time trying and the food was delicious. Great sized portions and the food came out hot. Must-try their Japanese take on fried Oreos, they are tempura Oreos. I will definitely be coming back here.
Best sushi place in town.
The sushi was great. It was packed but we got our food in a decent amount of time. The servers were on top of it. The best part is that there were a lot of gluten free options for the sushi and main deal. The bathroom was clean.
Fresh, nice presentation
Terrible service. The worst I have ever experienced
Good but expensive. Prices have been rising faster than actual quality. There are other places that offer way better value.
Food was good. Went with a large crowd during lunch, we were a little late returning to training due to late food service, but again, we were a large crowd.
This place was recommended to us from our friends that live in town and we couldn't have been more pleased! The poki appetizer was a meal in itself and tasted great. We also had the mango roll and Alison roll and both were amazing. My kids 2 and 5 shared the kids teriyaki plate which was good enough to fill them both up for lunch. We will definitely be back.
Wonderful food and service
Always good sushi and polite staff. Plus, they have a candy bowl and free candy is the dandiest of sweets.
Very fresh and delicious food. Great presentation.
Food was good but the service from the older server the night of Dec 14, 2018 was horrible, with a bad attitude & rude. Otherwise I would've given it 4 stars. My friend had a bit to drink, which I understand why she was bothered by his original request. Before we left he simply asked "I wanna order a roll to go". She looked at him with an attitude & then walked away quickly w/o warnin. He placed his order with another server who professionally received him with much delight. Yep, no tip for the negative older server
Amazing.
Great sushi. One of my favorites in Anchorage. Its popular so expect a brief wait before getting seated. The wait is worth it though. Service staff are friendly and quick.
Sushi Sushi is one of my favorite places to get Sushi in Anchorage. The staff is great, the food is excellent, and the prices aren't too bad. It can get really popular on weekend evenings, if you have a large party it would be worth checking in early.
Expensive, and more sashimi than sushi.
Some of the best sashimi I've had in a long time, generously sliced.
Very good service. Good sushi. This is a more upscale establishment however we had just left the climbing gym and were in workout clothes and still were treated very well! I would say this is an awesome place for a date and they will still take great care of you even if it's just a casual day!
Absolutely amazing sushi and place. I had the King Kong sushi and man was it good. Wickedly big, but good. I've had other sushi there too, and I haven't been disappointed once. Even got a first timer to try it, and they liked it too. The mango sushi is really worth trying
Been here many times, sushi is consistent. A plus is the free edamame and really nice chopsticks. Comfortable ambiance, large space.
Delicious food!! Fresh Salmon Sashimi. And the services is top! Awesome.
The service and food is very good. The outside does not look so good but the inside looks terrifc. The decorating is first rate.
Loved it, my wife n i had a ball
Will post photos later.... Amazing service every single time!

Low quality sushi, wait times, and service overall. I will be going to the Better Business Bureau.
Don’t be fooled by the cover - it’s a typical Anchorage gem undercover! The sashimi is the best I’ve ever had. Can’t decide if the white tuna or the salmon are my favorites. Still testing
Our family's favorite sushi place before was Haru and when it burned down we were looking for a new place since we love sushi and shrimp tempura for my kids so much and we found this place via google! We had a couple visit here and no doubt, their prices and foods are really worth it but our 2 first visits, our servers were not as welcoming and accommodating until we met Mat, I believe his area is in the left side of the bar to where the booth seats were located. Mat always wears a smile on his face, very accommodating and really knows what to recommend to guests when asked from drinks at to menus, he knows it all! He gets what the customer wanna try and satisfies their taste! He doesn't rush to anything even the place is packed and busy. He never fails me and my family when it comes to customer service! You can see by his service amd actions that he really have passion and love what he do everyday or every night! What a true example and a model to all servers! To the management of sushi2 Mat is the best i have experienced as a server in the entire Anchorage! Keep it up Mat we will not stop coming here becoz we love seeing you amd ur smile!!!
Super delicious!
Yum yum yum! Ordered Serious Jamie, it was fabulous! ❤ Terrible service.
Slow sometimes, but almost always really good.
Went there last night, service was great. Tommy made me a Rocky Road special that was spectacular! Tuna Haystack, Poki bowl was out of this world. I was so stuffed but my wife ordered the Kalbi ribs and I couldn’t resist, there were some of the best I have ever had... great time thanks to Tommy, Clyde and the gang down there!
Always a great sushi spot to eat at. You can't go wrong with most of their items on their menu.
Gotta love the sushi rolls. You can't go wrong. The service was very fast, friendly, and courteous. The place is clean and convenient with a lot of parking space available. Definitely going there again.
Always great costumer service. My wife and I love the food and atmosphere. Thank you Sushi&Sushi!
favorite sushi place in town. good bar, excellent menu, and fried oreos on the house often.
Food and service were outstanding, and wine pours generous!
Excellent food and service. Avocado mash is a must. Truly worth a visit.
Outside looking shady, but inside is like... Maybe I should have dressed up.
This place is always a treat. Got my first sushi boat here. It did not disappoint. As usual I went with the smashed avacado dip for an appetizer. Sushi & sushi is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Anchorage. The staff is always friendly and patient especially when you have someone who has never had sushi before and they are trying to figure it out
I give it a high rating because I've been eating here since they opened. The restaurant has grown a lot, the ambiance is laid back and very comfortable and the food is excellent. The bar is perfect for lone patrons as the wait staff are very engaging and personable. It is also a good place for group functions with seating areas separate from the main dinning room.
Great food, ate at the bar, decent service, very pricey $$$
I hate posting this review. I LOVED this place. Yummy food and great surrounding (even though the service was always a bit slow.) however, after my friends and I went here to celebrate my birthday, I got EXTREME food poisoning. It lasted 36 hours. I called to let them know and the staff got super defensive and we’re rude. When I asked to talk to a manager they told me that she wasn’t and won’t be available for me. I was upset and still am. I even let them know that the reason I was calling wasn’t to get my money back but to make sure that no one else gets sick from what I had. Disappointing.
Good food for the price
It's got the reputation of being the best sushi place in the whole Anchorage basin area and rightly so. Quality drinks, food, atmosphere, and staff. Prices are somewhat comparable. This place still amazes me. It's in a very secluded mall, pretty much on a deserted union hall street after the 5 o clock whistle blows, yet it's the best sushi by reputation around!
Quite good. Are here at the recommendation of a friend who recently moved from Japan. I trusted their judgement and wasn't disappointed. They had tasty dishes, good portions, and a nice atmosphere. They were slammed when I arrived, so service was a little slow, but they were every accommodating and did their very best to make up time lost quickly.
The poke is amazing! Tuna was cold and spicy. So good. Everything else we order was so good too along with service
We decided to go here since the Moose's Tooth was ludicrously busy.. and we did not regret it. The vibe and service is cool and welcoming, and they had hands down the best poke we have ever had.
Excellent service every time I go! And the food is always amazing
I live 6 hours inland so I’m always weary of sushi in non-coastal towns and was craving some. Some searching quickly pointed me here and I wasn’t disappointed. We ordered the small sushi boat and it was more than enough for 2 people. The staff were very friendly and even included a dessert at the end! The sushi was fresh, delicious and everything I had been hoping for.
This was some of the best sushi I have had, even better than Seattle. This place looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside, but once your are inside and seated it's awesome. We had lots of hot sake and the love boat. The sushimi slices were the largest we have had anywhere and the pieces of individual sushi were huge! We all needed at least two bites to finish each piece of sushi. Our server was amazing and gave great recommendations. Our favorite rolls were the AK and the Kodiak.
Great sushi but slow service
This is definitely the tourists' spot for sushi. Food is good. Atmosphere is lively. Many different types of people dine here. Definitely worth at least one visit!
Everything is amazing! The service is excellent and the head sushi chef was friendly. Will have to make it a ritual to come here when we travel to Anchorage.
Great sushi rolls and sake, very nice atmosphere.
Best sushi in Anchorage
Slow service. Rude wait staff. Could of bought the ingredients and learned out to make a California roll in the time it took
Good taste
Good food, good customer service.
The fish was very clean and fresh with a great presentation.
The food was okay, but the music was too loud. It's a restaurant, not a nightclub.
Fabulous Japanese food. We had a large group and shared one of every cuisine offered. YUM. We were led to a private room and the service was prompt and cheerful.
Great veggie options and nice atmosphere.
Friendly service, ice cold water waiting for you along some edamame. Sushi was delish, and fairly priced.
This place is excellent!! My wife and I were looking for a good sushi place while visiting Anchorage. This place blew us away, great food & great service. Thanks!
Low quality sushi, wait times, and service overall. I will be going to the Better Business Bureau.

This place is always a treat. Got my first sushi boat here. It did not disappoint. As usual I went with the smashed avacado dip for an appetizer. Sushi & sushi is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Anchorage. The staff is always friendly and patient especially when you have someone who has never had sushi before and they are trying to figure it out
Great service along with amazing food. Would love to go back soon
Thanks!
Not terrible , but not great either. I understand it Alaska, but for the price and cost, could have been better
My son recommended Sushi & Sushi. One of his favorites for lunch. Friendly service and fresh sushi I will be back with my husband.
Absolutely love this place. They have my favorite California roll by far! I love sushi and this place stands out from all the rest in Anchorage.
Pretty good sushi, nothing that stuck out though in my opinion.
Always live their hot and spicymiso souo, inwas sad this time arou d they didbt have all the ingredients, but they where nice to not charge me :)
Some plusses, but disappointed overall. I went to eat here alone. I was warmly greeted when I entered and I liked the atmosphere, although the music was a bit tweenager-ish. I had to wait about two minutes to be seated, which was fine. The entire staff was pleasant and welcoming, except for the waiter I drew. Perhaps he resented that I was a lone diner sitting at a table instead of the bar, but his initial greeting was rude and he was never pleasant the way other staff were treating their customers. Ok, now food. I ordered the tempura appetizer, the sashimi and sushi diner, and a glass of wine - $51 total. The dinner comes with miso soup and a lettuce salad. The lettuce salad had quite a bit of brown lettuce and I didn't eat it. The miso soup.was pretty good. The tempura was not quite crisp and almost doughy. I've had worse tempura, but never for that high of price. The sushi and sashimi dinner included 6 nigiri and 12 pieces of sashimi. The nigiri rice was a bit dry and under seasoned, but the fish on it was generous. The sashimi was pretty good quality, with some really beautiful, fatty tuna and some good salmon included (plus white tuna, which I'm not wild about). My biggest complaint is that the temperature of the sashimi and the nigiri was all over the place. Some was room temperature, some was really cold, and a few pieces were cold on one end and luke warm on the other, all on the same plate. It made for a very strange eating experience. Other than that, the wine was a generous pour, but not as good as I expected for the price. Overall, i might eat there again for 2/3 of the price, but I don't feel like I got a $50 dining experience.
It's good. I think it's funny they have mongolian beef and korean ribs though. Why not have oyakudon or some other japanese lunch dishes? If you're going to turn Japanese then dont just think so. Do it.
A competitor for the best sushi in town, it has it's own unique taste from the pineapple salad dressing to the sushi combinations is an oral experience worth having
Wonderful atmosphere, food and service
Worst service. I waited at the bar (as instructed) to place a to-go order for 30-45 minutes. No one ever asked to take my order. The bartender had his head down the whole time (like he didn’t want to take any more orders).
Decent but way pricey. I'd honestly prefer to get Fred Meyer sushi since it's almost as satisfying but less than half the price.
Great food and great atmosphere! Will definitely go back. My sushi rolls were delicious and my husband enjoyed the orange chicken.
Great atmosphere. Sushi is okay.
Good food. Dark lighting. Take a flash light to read the menu.
Amazing tobiko!
Great ambiance and food to match.
This place is great if you enjoy sushi rolls. I enjoyed the food and the service was pretty good to.
Sushi was good but the service wasn't. The older lady, waitress was rude. If I eat from here again it will be aushi bar or takeout.
Food was good, at least what we got of our order. Service was awful they didn't give us a menu at first and finally a server came up and realized we didn't have a menu and gave us one. Half of our food they didn't serve, we didnt realize that they missed it because they gave our order piece by piece then we for our bill without the rest of what we ordered but they did not write on the ticket, they need to listen better. The tea was cold and they messed up on our order, so we left hungry and disappointed.
Always fresh. Friendly staff. Best sushi in town
Great quality. Went twice in the short time we spent in Anchorage on a family vacay.
Loved the atmosphere of this place. Very dim, with good music, perfect for my tastes. Its a bit pricy, but not completely over the top or anything. Very clean, comfortable seating. Staff was fast and friendly. I came here expecting to find another hole in the wall asian restaurant like all the others, but instead found my new go-to fancy restaurant. Good place for a date.
Very good, kindness people working there!
went here for lunch. food came out fast and was pretty good. only complaint is it did take 25 minutes to for the waitress to come take our order.
We just love this place. It’s very clean. The food is great and the service is equally as impressive. It helps that the owners are very hands on. I would highly recommend.
Always great customer service!
The menu is a little pricey but the quality of the fish is better than any other sushi place I've been to in alaska
I love the food but some server here don't know how to smile she been working long time they only check on you when get there attention.
This place is the best sushi joint in Anchorage!
Overall the experience was slightly above average. Staff was was nice and courteous. The complimentary Miso soup was good. The salad tho... Wasn't so good. The greens was alright, the dressing killed it. Tasted and looked watery. Couldn't make out exactly what kind of dressing it was. Sushi experience was pretty good. Had better elsewhere but still generally good. Nothing outstanding nor nothing terrible about their sushi. Had smoked scallops and Crab Mayo nigiri which was probably the best part. Definitely can taste the smokiness from the scallops. Had a few rolls (forgot the names), tasted pretty average. Nothing wrong with it just nothing popped to me.
Great sushi, but the music was terrible and too loud to talk. This is NOT a dance club. Come on!
The place looked amazing and i so wish i could have liked it but i took 1 bite out of there California roll and almost threw up with a bad fish taste. I told my waiter and he refused to do anything about it but gave us fried oreos to try and make up for it i guess. I took the rool home but i know it is worse than i thought because even my dog wont eat it.
As per usual, delicious. Forgot to take a picture of the food... I guess I couldn't wait. Will do next time. This is next time.
The food was good and the prizing reasonable. The waitress wasn't really friendly and not attentive and also, the music felt really off (mexixan music and Sushi don't mix...) and too loud for a dinner atmosphere...
Best susi in Anchorage
It was so delicious!!! And they filled my glass of wine all the way to the top ;) nice
Food was awesome! Service was pretty good. Definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants in Alaska that I've ever been to!
Did not expect such a beautiful atmosphere. Best service I have had in town so far. Get the King Kong roll, tasty roll that will fill 2 people up.
Great food, hard to get a waiter though after youve ordered. They do give you a free dessert though!
Consistently great sushi
My FAVORITE sushi joint, hands down!
This was great food, great service and when I forgot my card they allowed me to punch it in :0)
Very good sushi and service.
