Cute little 50s style diner. We initially came in and were told that there would be a wait, even if we sat at the bar. It wasn't more than a minute before we were being helped, and I think the girl working the bar didn't necessarily have to do so. The food was fantastic, the place was clean and all of the staff were spectacular!

My husband and I have been living in Anchorage for a few months now and had never been to this diner. You walk in an immediately get the feel of the 1940s and 50’s vibe. The music the malt shake bar, the wonderful service from staff. The cook from the kitchen always had a smile on his face. The food was wonderful, I had the chili burger and my husband had the Route 66 burger! Highly recommend.

Go Here!! This place is a Home Run! I Had the French Dip, side of Chili, and Banana Split for desert. Food quality was top notch! Service was just as good as the food. Atmosphere is inviting, very clean look, and family friendly. Soda came with its own small pitcher so you could refill your drink 3-4 times. Every plate that the chefs were sending out of the open kitchen looked fantastic! Can’t wait to take the family here next time! Well done guys...well done.

Don't put soup balanced on top of small fries for a delivery order thinking it's funny...whos brain of an idea was it to put the soup in a separate bag so the sandwich and fries get super soggy also.

I can't believe I passed this diner so many times without ever going in there. The corned beef is amazing! It's REAL shredded corned beef! The food quality is way above what I expect from any diner and the prices are excellent here as well! The menu is far better than I expected as well. Inside is very clean and very nice! This is my new favourite place! You won't regret trying this place out.

Called in an order to go, Alli the cashier informed me the restraunt closed in 5 minutes. I was across town and could not make it there before they closed. She volunteered to wait and let me get my order. Good customer service is hard to come by these days. Stop by try the loaded mac and cheese, make sure to leave Alligator a tip!!

Haven’t eaten here in a while. Ordered crab cake Benedict and b n g for breakfast. Food was cooked perfectly. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection. I’ve worked 13 years in the industry myself (lots and lots of eggs) they nailed it. Thx for the great breakfast guys!

Ordered fish and chips. The fish was really mushy and soggy. The service is okay but nothing amazing stands out. Find it interesting that as a senior citizen I wasn't given the senior discount that is on the menu. For a 15+ dollar price tag for fish and chips I expected better food than what was served. I've had fish and chips at other restaurants for less price and it was better and not mushy and soggy.

I loved the 50s atmosphere! Good menu options and the prices were decent...especially for the amount of food we received. Everything was delicious! Would recommend and definitely will be back!

We sat down, ordered, and 5 minutes later the waitress came to tell us we would not receive our food for at least 35 minutes. And when she walked away the table next to us told us they had been waiting for over an hour and just been told it would be another 10 minutes for them. We paid for our drinks, cancelled our order and walked out.

Well folks, as it happens I actually used to work here. I absolutely love he place and it was honestly one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. Besides me the staff is probably the most friendly and best service that one could expect. The food is soooo good and they have the most delicious desserts! I recommend the milkshakes. Wait time for food is generally pretty short. They also have great options for people with food allergies and vegetarian plates. If you’re looking for a refreshing after work or anytime drink they have a nice selection of alcohol. It’s always been very clean and although it gets pretty busy sometimes, it has convenient parking. If I could suggest one thing, I’d say to maybe lower the prices on a couple items. But the portion size is perfect and I recommend this restaurant to everyone, please check this place out! The photo I added is actually me from when I worked there! Enjoy!

City Dinner has a lot off really good qualities so I'm going to try and organize this as best as I can. Appearance: It's got a really good classic diner feel, with the music to match. It's clean and free off dirt the multiple times I've been there and the only time I've ever seen an issue was one time someone shot out one of their windows, but the dining area was clean of any safety hazards before they opened to the public. Service: The service is actually really nice with the staff making you feel like a part of a family, and being really courteous and attentive. I've never had a cup go empty personally, and they pay attention very well. Food options: For what it is, they have a pretty good selection of food, ranging from burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast items. They don't really branch out, and there's not a lot of variety of food but I think that suits them. They don't pretend to be something they're not, which helps them keep a good customer base. They do have a liquor license, and sells a variety of beers and wine, which is nice sometimes to gave a drink with a meal. Experience: I've been there give or take 10 times or so, and I've enjoyed myself each time. Definitely going to be a repeat customer, and it's a great option for a quick bite or an extended lunch. 4/5 only because the food options while great in their area of expertise, is pretty limited

I had the crab cakes with poached eggs and hollandaise, which were delicious! The server offered the check in the middle of my meal, which I didn't appreciate. I asked for a coffee, it came with soapy bubbles on the edges, I asked for another coffee, which had even more shiny, soapy bubbles. When the server gave me the second coffee cup, he asked me jokingly what was wrong with the first one and I pointed to it... unless coffee does come with lots of shiny bubbles on the rim and I didn't notice this whole time. Otherwise, worth going to

My buddy and I had the French dip sandwich, the worst French dip ever, the meat was room temperature and loaded with fat and gristle, the au jus was unrecognizable light brown tasteless water. I wanted to go to the manager but my pal asked me not to and he paid for the sandwiches we didn’t eat. That was about 3 years ago and we have never gone back.

This place is on a long slow downhill slide. I came year when it was new years ago. Since then visited a few times. Each time the food is worse, the booths more sat out, the greasier the floor....probably my last visit! I don't recommend it.

I enjoy every time I visit. Great diner breakfast. The "Diner Browns" are awesome potatoes! Good Khaladi Bros coffee, as well. And if you are hungry, get an omelet or scramble, which is a big, tasty meal. You can't go wrong with grabbing breakfast here.

Well, I had to change my review. I guess they are open later in the day. Their Website is messed up, and gives false info. Website says the close at 3PM, but they were open at 7:30 PM on 04/24/2019. I'm not sure if the menu on their Website has false info, so I can't comment on what they serve. I've driven by there alone several times this week, but never felt "safe" to park and go in. If I happen to be down there with a few friends, WE may stop in. Why such a great looking building was put where it is really puzzles me. Maybe the neighborhood changed...
