Delicious fare, excellent price. Probably the most economical meal I've had in Alaska. Convenient distance from hotels and downtown. Stellar customer service. Group of four ordered a variety of foods from the menu and all were pleased with the quality and taste of the food.
Slow service with a low flow of customers. Food was spicy at least.
The food is delicious, the prices are great and it's not too crowded. I'll be going here every chance I get. I'm a huge fan!
Good
Best Indian food in town!!! Miss it so much!
Great food, and service. I'm vegan. No issues at all. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about my needs. Left overs were amazing the next day.
The foods were very tasty, fresh, spicy, and authentic. You wait for your foods to be prepared fresh.
I've had my share of Indian cuisine: this was delightful and surprising.
Surprisingly good Indian food!
My favorite restaurant in juneau! Love the atmosphere!
Lovely dinner with friends. Will definitely visit again.
The food is good, the atmosphere is nice and the service is great. They made a substitution without asking which worked out fine but it seemed a bit odd. The chai is nice and spicy! I'll definitely be back.
Nice restaurant with nice menu from Chef Sharmila. The food was very tasty and quantity was good too. Tried the masala chai too that was nice, though it had good amount of sugar.
I love india food n they are making wonderful test of indian food
Neat Indian eatery. Decor swag. Friendly atmosphere and service. Menu eclectic with many different and savory options. Wine and beer options. Great for couples or family
This is an amazing place to eat!! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and cozy. The staff is great and the food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Would absolutely go here if you like Indian food!
Favorite restaurant in Juneau!
Four of us ate a complete lunch here for $66 + tips.
Very authentic cuisine. Friendly service and excellent food. Fair prices. Nice decor and music. Free WiFi. Great place for a date.
Best Indian food in Alaska. Ask for that special chutney
Good only Indian restaurant in Juneau, Alaska
The food here is exotic and delicious. Good spicy dishes to make you forget about cold Juneau weather.
Slow service. Extremely slow. A party of ours had to leave because of the time frame of which the food came out. We have been three times now, all experiences have been very similar. However, this time, we had the experience of burnt pompadoms. Had to pay extra for dips, as parts of our starters that came late. We also, had to ask for our mains, the moment we asked for our mains, they came out within seconds, we waited for a good hour plus/if longer. They fill the kitchen with take out orders and it really effects the ability to serve properly in the restaurant. However, it does not affect waiting staff explaining where our food is. Come on guys. Not hard.
Nice environment and the taste of Indian dishes
Had an Aloo Pratha with mango chutney and was good.
Extremely poor customer service. Asked us to sit on the waiting bench because we gave a small order. Denied us a table. Poor behaviour and poor treatment. Would not recommend.
Lovely food..
Authentic cultural cuisine, great service.
Delicious
It had been awhile since I had been to Saffron since my last visit was not very pleasant. I was craving something warm, spicy and comfort style food so I paid them a visit today for lunch. The restaurant wasn't crowded, I was seated immediately and ordered the Thali platter for lunch with chai. Service was excellent, the food was delicious and the chai.... ahh, that chai was divine. The atmosphere is beautiful, very peaceful as if I had stepped into another world. I was surprised when the server graciously offered me a chai refill in a to go cup so I could continue to enjoy it at work. I am impressed and very sorry I had not returned sooner. What Juneau lacks in fast food chain restaurants, it more than makes up in genuinely great chefs and cuisine. Saffron is one of them.
Pricey food compared to the rest of the world. (Average in Juneau). Had the Chicken Tikka Masala which was not spicy at all and way too creamy.
Interesting spot with great flavors and awesome friendly service.
Best Indian food in AK
Tasty authentic Indian food
Delicious, fresh, complex flavors. Since moving from New York I have dearly missed authentic Indian cuisine but no more thanks to Saffron! Love how you can get a lot of different things to try in one meal. My favorite so far has been lamb curry, a shrimp dish, coconut chutney, roti and cucumber raita.
Love it. Wish I could eat there more often.
Not good taste , not even close to indian food
Great food! I loved the food we got and the non bread was to die for. But instead of giving us each rice they just brought out a pot for all to share. Didn't have enough for four of us. Waited awhile to get another pot.
Best Indian food I've had in years. We stop here every week during the cruise season, and many of us come ashore just for the food here. Service is usually great, but if there's a line, you might be waiting longer than you like.
Take out. Ordered chana masala - large. N Rotis. Quantity of the 'large' left us wanting. Rotis though was another story I think it had about 6-8 pieces. Rotis tasted good. Chana masala okay, came with rice. Very watery curry.
Very good but needs more vegan options.
Everything is amazing
Beautiful ambiance a higher end restaurant in quality and price. It's authentic and decent if you are fond of Indian food.
(Translated by Google) Great meal .. nice staff. Cheap (Original) Super repas.. personnel agréable . Peu cher
Excellent and authentic.
Exquisite food in a cozy atmosphere!
One of our favorite places in Juneau. The atmosphere is cozy, and the food is very flavorful and we'll prepared.
Ok good, if yr Indian don't expect a lot ,
Butter chicken and garlic nann a hit!!!! Friendly service and a family environment, eating next to the waitresses son hearing them talk and the chef smiling All the time made me feel at home.... in Alaska this place is affordable classy and authentic, worth the visit 110%
We really enjoyed the food in here! It was very nice + very good and friendly service
Loved it .. great food..
The food was delicious and the ambiance was nice. We felt it was a little pricey and they charged for the condiments (chutney) which is normally just served with the meal.
One of my favorite restaurants in Juneau, true comfort food. The prices are about average or a little below average for this community. The food is really good, some items from the menu are better than others, I really like the paneer. The food is seasoned, as Indian food should be, but it's not too spicy for the kids. We order 3 small dishes to split between a family of four and leave with leftovers.
Great food! I liked their smaller portion options, which was perfect for us to try different dishes. I really liked their shrimp koliwada and saffron rice. I would caution their Indian spice level, which is really spicy.
I love the chutneys! Lunch thali platters are a perfect size and variety too.
The worst fu king place. Dont waste your money. Food taste worst than what a 2 year old can probably make.
Great place to eat. Chutney especially is the best one, even though food is a bit pricey here.
Good curry and they were closing at 9pm but let me stay late. Good service and nice restaurant but does lack much atmosphere but very few patrons when I went to be fair. Good and service great though.
I love this place. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, and they always remember what we like. The food is heaven. Just heaven. Really, heaven.
Back again and it was as good as I remembered!
Food is delicious and unique for Juneau. The lunch thali platter is a great deal and allows you to try small servings of multiple dishes. I like going with a group of friends and ordering multiple small entrees and sharing family-style. Make sure to order the garlic naan and the homemade masala chai.
Lunchtime you need to call ahead if you have anything less than an hour to eat, but the food is really solid!
Pleasant surprise to have Indian food ,at the farthest location in USA.With very courteous homely service., especially,to mention one Ms.Kally ,(don't no spelling)with all the smile and cortsey.Food was really authentic ,with equally matching the quality ,one gets back home India.A must visit place, An Ambience maintened ,giving a complete feel of India, playing Indian songs, including Marathi, gives truly amazing experience and a feel to at home country.A must visit place.
Indian food but Indo-American taste
Worst Indian restaurant ever!!! Would never go back or recommend to anyone!!!
Terrific lunch, we go often and it's nearly always great. Occasionally inconsistent naan/roti. But the Sabj Bahar is amazing and the chai is terrific, I've come in just to drink it at the counter.
Food was good. But if you order vegetarian thali make sure it's vegetarian, because they gave non-veg thali at first.we found it at first. Then they gave veg thali..the person serving does not know about the food at all.
Honest Indian in Juneau. I've been to top 10 cities in the US with Indian that didn't stack up. It's real.
Very good food, pleasant ambience and service. Had several dishes which were shared, would order all again. Especially liked the tikka, paneer less so.
Отличный маленький ресторан. Очень приятное обслуживание и на 15-20$ можно наесться взрослому
Excellent Indian food.
Good food but, over priced
I have been there once with my Indian friend nice atmosphere and good food like it.
Butter chicken & lamb curry with roti and rice was delicious!
Nice people running a wonderful restaurant. Excellent menu selection.
Very good food!
Great service, great food, reasonably priced, all around great experience.
Fantastic food. Miss good Indian since moving to Alaska. Saffron scratches that itch.
I took my wife here for her birthday on a Wednesday evening in the summer. We had a great meal and a very good experience. The restaurant was fairly busy, but not rushed, and the service and food were very good. The restaurant is small, with about 12 tables and a bar/waiting area. One waitress kept up with serving and bussing all the tables, and never got behind. There are a few booths, some stand-alone tables with chairs, and some low tables with cushioned benches and low stools for the younger or more flexible diners. The menu is small, but quite diverse, with choices for vegans, vegetarians, gluten intolerant, and omnivores. We had all we could eat and more for under $50 for the two of us, so the price wasn't bad, either. We will eat there again.
Food was good, service could have been better.
The food was delicious and we were so happy to eat here after the better part of a week admiring the smells coming from Saffron but the service left me wanting for a confrontation. My partner heard the woman we met at the door and who served us, who had been mildly passive and superior at worst, talking disparagingly about us in the back as “table 5.” He told me this as we left, insisting I resist my urge to tip because she was disrespectful and out of touch. Stop contributing to the stereotype of vapid, self centered millennials and appreciate a job with automatic service charges enough to keep your rude commentary to a volume where the people paying don’t hear you. I rarely leave reviews, I have never called a manager, but I will be doing both.
Poor service. Dishes were smelling of oil. Definitely would not pass for indian food anywhere else
Worst Indian restaurant ever. Period. I am Indian and I should know.
Very Nice Indian Restaurant
First experience presented well it was lovley
Always delicious, high-quality, fantastic atmosphere, and make sure to try the chutneys! Fav place to eat in town!
Great ambiance, nicely decorated, BUT they were out of several dishes on the menu and the food made us sick... so, unfortunately, we cannot recommend this place to anyone...
New chef was very very slow, but food was decent and prices are reasonable for flavorful food
I really love this quaint little place. The food is very authentic Indian cuisine. The atmosphere seems to take you to another place.
So good
Went on Saturday before July 4th weekend and service was quite slow. Paneer pakora was ok but veg curry (Sabji Bahar) was not good. It was testing of just chilly and no other spices. Paneer they dumped on the top of it was hard and hadn't soaked any gravy. Garlic was absolutely horrible. It was very thick and was laced with some garlic paste at the top. Definitely wasn't freshly made and looked like they served us frozen one after heating a little bit. One extra point for cancelling the order for 2 naans and portion size of curry & rice that was served with it.
This place is amazing! A few friends and I got there about 45 minutes before they closed. I had felt bad for going to close to closing time. The staff was upbeat, kind, generous, and very helpful. They even gave us little tips on what would go together, so all 3 of us could share our dishes that we ordered, and have them paur well together. I have to be gluten-free due to health concerns and this place had so many options that I could have, and I felt like a normal customer, and not a special circumstance that they had to cater to, and normally it is the other way around. The food... yes let's talk about the food... everything was amazing. Everything came out promptly and hot. You could tell everything was freshly made. I ordered a lamb dish, and it was hot, flavorful, and the lamb was so tender it melted in your mouth. I also ordered the gluten free bread that was available. It had more of a tortilla shape, which was great for dipping. The special of buttered chicken that a friend of mine ordered. The chicken was tender, and it had a very buttery flavor, that matched the spice blend that they use very well. And so much more was ordered that I can't remember it all. Thank you for being such a welcoming and delicious place to eat. I can not tell you how much it means to me to be able to go to a restaurant and not feel singled out because of dietary restrictions. I can't wait to go again.
Very surprised to find an authentic Indian restaurant in Juneau. Good vegetarian options as well. Very pleasant ambience. What I liked the most is that the food tasted not like 'yet another Indian restaurant'. It tasted fresh, the spices could be felt and they tasted little different compared to other restaurants. Definitely recommend stopping by. Roti could be made better - would prefer it to be less crispy.
Very good Halal Indian restaurant
Delicious!
For some reason we never visited Saffron the first 2 years we lived here...boy are we dissapointed we never came sooner! It's great to bring larger groups and share lots of different dishes! The garlic naan is to die for and the ground lamb and spices will blow your mind! During one visit, we got free smoothie like drinks that I can't remember the name of...but it was a very nice gesture and we are gonna get one the next time we are there!
Awesome food and drinks at Juneau, Quality Indian foods, Delicious Atmosphere with Free Wi-Fi....
