The service was great, the food was fantastic. However, the food took an hour to be served. Way too long for a Monday night. Even one that is a holiday.

landed at the airport and immediately walked the three miles to the rustic goat, a delightful, large space with lots of natural lighting. i went straight to the bar and got served immediately by a super friendly server. the rustic goat bloody mary was spicy and filled with literal chunks of garlic. super good mix despite being scant on the fixings. the rustic goat skillet (single serving) was incredibly flavorful. i liked the place so much that i took my partner there for our last meal in anchorage. the chicken rockefeller pizza was quite tasty as well.

All 3 entrees we had were delicious and plentiful! We agreed that we would definitely have our individual entrees again, as well as having each other's dishes. Wait staff was great. The only knock was the accoustics of the building. While aesthetically the building is very cool, it's incredibly loud inside which made conversation difficult. Would definitely recommend you try the food!

Today was my second visit to Rustic Goat. I like to see if a restaurant is consistent in their service and quality of food before I comment. Rustic Goat has both good service and high quality food. I consider myself a connoisseur of fine dining and have had the privilege of experiencing many amazing meals in my life. I have yet to eat at a restaurant in Anchorage better than the Goat. That doesn't mean there is not one it just means I haven't found it yet. From the ambience; interesting architecture, the right temperature, good lighting, and the proper volume level as to not overhear the conversation around you are all imperative. They meet all the marks. To the food and service; the wait staff were friendly, had pep in their step, made sure I was attended to, and were friendly: and the food was prepared expertly in front of me at the open kitchen by two cooks who delivered to me a baked mac and cheese and the Goat burger with fries. The food was hot, was prepared using fresh and what seemed like organic ingredients, and was properly flavored and salted. My mac and cheese had a delightful surprise of caramelized onions with pancetta at the bottom, and a nice bread crumb cap with herbs. The burger buns were a cross between a croissant and a burger bun and the special sauce was good but didn't get in the way of the beef. The beef was cooked properly, medium, had a big beefy flavor, and was delicious. The only thing I can critique today was that the bun was too much bread for the burger. I would increase the beef quantity to bun, or reduce the bun. The proportion of meat to bread was not my preference. Also, they seemed to be a little behind at the hostess station for a moment, until the 4 o'clock shift arrived and saves the day. If you are in Anchorage and looking for an eclectic place to eat with good vibes, a stellar menu, and great service, go to Rustic Goat. I enjoyed my meal, good beers on tap, and will go back! -Elijah

Rustic Goat would definitely be called a hipster joint, but it has good food, excellent service, and the atmosphere is friendly. Downstairs is a bit tight, but the upstairs dining area is quite nice. Loved all the use of wood and metal pipe in the décor. Good selection of beers. The Cacio e Pepe pizza was AMAZING

So my second choice was far from great and I ended up throwing half of it away so I don't think I will be stopping here again. I was recommended to come here to the Rustic Goat and the meal was simply superb. I ordered the house Burger which was amazing it gave me nostalgia with a taste that reminded me of when I was little girl going to one of those diners back home toasted bun witb the nurger cooked perfectly. Menu is fantastic d the Bison sliders are mourh watering. You have to eat them just as they come to get the entire effect. Its just a nice amazing spot to go eat.

Not all that great. This is the first place I went to lunch at when I landed, and I won't be going back. They were still serving brunch items at 2pm for some reason, and none of their items on the menu they have me looked appealing. I settled on some potatoes that were pretty awful. Presentation was there, but they weren't very good. Service was slow, and it seemed like only 2 waitresses were working in the whole place. Took a half an hour just to get my bill. Don't go here if you want a decent meal (at least during their brunch hours, anyway).

I had my first 5-star experience here. Enjoyed a half order of the the Drunken Clams with a glass of Côte du Rhone Villages blend. It was to die for. The clams are aromatic with dill, the broth is savory and satisfying without heaviness. The wine paired perfectly.

The Chicken Thai pizza tasted good. I would have preferred a bit more chicken and peanut but it was the correct amount of vegetables to keep the meal light. It was large enough for two to share with an appetizer or one to take a bit home. The windows let in a lot of light which allows you to see the great view of the mountains and not feel crowded. This is a popular spot so you might have to wait a bit for seating depending on when you get there. Family friendly and pleasant wait staff. I WOULD go here again. (..next time for the Bison Vanilla Fig sliders! )

Best. Pizza. Ever. We loved the ambiance of this spot, and the food and drink menu has a decent range, but look no further than the pizzas for a real treat. We had the one with reindeer sausage, fresh leeks, and fingerling potatoes...which I would not have expected to be so amazing but it was. The garlicky, buttery crust may have been the best we've ever had. Definitely worth visiting on any trip to Anchorage!

Interesting menu and a beautiful setting. Very nice decor and great scenery right in the middle of anchorage. Pricing is comparable to other reseraunts in ANC (high). Only thing that kept it from 5 star was the service (waiter and host) seemed a bit detached like they had something better to do. Not very friendly which is NOT comaparable to other places in ANC. I am not from anchorage, but if I was, I'd give it another try.

The food and drinks here are not bad at all. Decent variety and rather interesting yet pleasant establishment. The staff can sometimes be hit and miss but nothing rude. I give four stars mainly more due to some of the clientele. It can be a bit loud and some people like to stare at other patrons sometimes. They have glassware for sale and we definitely picked up some before leaving town. Would visit again for sure!

I went to Rustic goat because the last time I was there I had an awesome experience and got some delicious mac and cheese for dinner. This time I went around 2 o clock and was surprised to see that they were still serving brunch (until 3) so I didn't get what I came for but the food was still good. There was about a 15-20 minute wait which I expected going on a weekend. Good service and good food.

Personal menu favorites: fries with house sauce, and the potato, leek, and sausage pizza. Atmosphere is relaxed. First floor is open seating with a bar and retro farm paraphernalia (hence the rustic goat). Second floor is more formal, with specific tables and some more sparse decorations. Outdoor second floor balcony tables are available in the summer.

Had an amazing meal here. Very cozy place and I love the architecture. Ordered the Clams/Sausage/Chorizo skillet to share with my wife and it was absolutely delicious. We also ordered one of their pizzas to bring back to our room for breakfast the next morning and it did not disappoint. Our service was fine. The only real complaint I have was that the restaurant was abnormally warm.

I went here for the first time a few days ago and was suprised by the environment. Lovely views with both outdoor and indoor seating. food is amazing, service was friendly and fairly fast for this type of restaurant. The only thing to be aware of is that parking can be a little limited by the store but there is a park right across the street that you can park at if necessary.

The food was fantastic once we were served, but it took over an hour after we ordered, and we were only one of three small groups. I had the BLT on sourdough bread. The fries were hot and crisp salted with rough ground sea salt. There was a dipping sauce specially made by their chef a bit like 1000 island with garlic, horseradish and onion. It was fantastic. We also had a Margarita pizza that was hot and fresh, with just enough broiling to the cherry tomatoes.

Just arrived to Anchorage, and the first place my lady and I checked out was the Rustic Goat. Excellent all around! Warm atmosphere, friendly staff and really delicious food and beer! Had the drunken clams with reindeer sausage and the bison sliders, and the smores for dessert. Everything, amazing! Planning on recreating the vanilla fig jam. Nick was our server, super cool dude. He took great care of us, gave us the inside scoop on the town and made our first night a truly memorable experience. Thanks again guys! Highly recommend this spot.

Interesting menu and a beautiful setting. Very nice decor and great scenery right in the middle of anchorage. Pricing is comparable to other reseraunts in ANC (high). Only thing that kept it from 5 star was the service (waiter and host) seemed a bit detached like they had something better to do. Not very friendly which is NOT comaparable to other places in ANC. I am not from anchorage, but if I was, I'd give it another try.

The food and drinks here are not bad at all. Decent variety and rather interesting yet pleasant establishment. The staff can sometimes be hit and miss but nothing rude. I give four stars mainly more due to some of the clientele. It can be a bit loud and some people like to stare at other patrons sometimes. They have glassware for sale and we definitely picked up some before leaving town. Would visit again for sure!

Personal menu favorites: fries with house sauce, and the potato, leek, and sausage pizza. Atmosphere is relaxed. First floor is open seating with a bar and retro farm paraphernalia (hence the rustic goat). Second floor is more formal, with specific tables and some more sparse decorations. Outdoor second floor balcony tables are available in the summer.

Had an amazing meal here. Very cozy place and I love the architecture. Ordered the Clams/Sausage/Chorizo skillet to share with my wife and it was absolutely delicious. We also ordered one of their pizzas to bring back to our room for breakfast the next morning and it did not disappoint. Our service was fine. The only real complaint I have was that the restaurant was abnormally warm.

I went here for the first time a few days ago and was suprised by the environment. Lovely views with both outdoor and indoor seating. food is amazing, service was friendly and fairly fast for this type of restaurant. The only thing to be aware of is that parking can be a little limited by the store but there is a park right across the street that you can park at if necessary.

The food was fantastic once we were served, but it took over an hour after we ordered, and we were only one of three small groups. I had the BLT on sourdough bread. The fries were hot and crisp salted with rough ground sea salt. There was a dipping sauce specially made by their chef a bit like 1000 island with garlic, horseradish and onion. It was fantastic. We also had a Margarita pizza that was hot and fresh, with just enough broiling to the cherry tomatoes.

Just arrived to Anchorage, and the first place my lady and I checked out was the Rustic Goat. Excellent all around! Warm atmosphere, friendly staff and really delicious food and beer! Had the drunken clams with reindeer sausage and the bison sliders, and the smores for dessert. Everything, amazing! Planning on recreating the vanilla fig jam. Nick was our server, super cool dude. He took great care of us, gave us the inside scoop on the town and made our first night a truly memorable experience. Thanks again guys! Highly recommend this spot.

However, tried going early on a Sautrday afternoon, place was not busy at all, and waited for over 12 min until we got up and left. On our way out, we asked for a manager, but there was not one working. We explained that we waited for over 12 minutes and that tables that were sat after us were waited on but we were not even acknowledged at all. The hostess told us when she sat us that Jimmy would be waiting on us. 'Jimmy' walked past us as we were filling out a form we were given to write our complaint on. He knew we had gotten up and left but didnt say one word to us. Not an apology, nothing. Very arrogant and rude. As a result, we will not be back. Too many choices in Anchorage for excellent food. Most have way better service and are nicer to their customers. If you expect to be treated with respect, dont go to Rustic Goat!

Rustic Chic. Very nice experience. Derek was our server and he took good care of us. We had the Brussel Sprouts and Calamari appetizers. The former were purportedly wasabi seasoned, but we couldn't sense any. Derek warmed is that the Calamari was not deep fat fried, since he had taken many an order back. The sauce and jalapenos were interestingly seasoned and slightly sweet. Calamari was very tender. Entrees included soup and salad, bison sliders, chicken marsala and roasted romaine salad. Very nice selection of on tap brews. Reasonable prices.

The seating upstairs has a pretty decent view and was cozy. Wait staff was super attentive and pleasant, not at all like what we read in some of the other reviews. Food was excellent, and the menu choices are definitely unique. I liked the simplistic menu... they don't do a lot but it seems like everything they offer is made well. The bison sliders were fresh and flavorful. The gyro was packed with flavor and the lamb was on point. The highlight of the meal was the mac and cheese... truly an excellent dish and one we will probably crave again. Alcohol selection is small but a lot of local drafts, prices very fair. I got one of the rotating "rare" selections, a mead that was very good. This is one of the best spots in Anchorage. We loved it.

I was trying to get my silly little family to go to the Rustic Goat for a long time. Between the menu, the photos, and the reviews online, I had a very good feeling about the place, and I thought my silly little family might like it too because they had a bunch of interesting pizzas on the menu in addition to the more interesting items that I was interested in. Well, we finally made it to the Rusted Goat just on the cusp of Armageddon. Turns out we didn’t need reservations at all, or a table for seven(teen/ty); we just needed to wait and get in how we fit in. And we fit in just fine. I got me some little Bison Burgers which were so effing flavorful (I can't even). They came with perfectly cooked French fries, and, when I asked after mustard for said fries, the waitress actually gave me mustard options and brought me such a fabulous stone-ground mustard (I just can't). I took my meal with a Blueberry Orange Thyme house soda, and it was such a damn fine meal; please see my posted picture and let your salivary glands go for a moment. I also got to try the Broccolini (which was great) and the Wasabi Brussel Sprouts (which was greater) because my dinner companions were friendly fools. They didn’t especially like the latter, and my foolish brother mistook the broccolini for a garnish. What a fool! I sagely explained that it was definitely not a garnish and, even if it had been, one would be well-advised to never let a good little garnish go to waste. Come on, Fool, Everything is Edible if only you Believe! I loved every little lick of the Rusty Goat, it was all effin’ A. My silly little family said the same—they really enjoyed their pizzas. F'n A, BB.

This place was such a wonderful discovery! We tried it out on a whim and found a place we hope to come back to again and again. The atmosphere is so beautiful and modern with a genuine Alaska feel. The food was creative and SO FLAVORFUL! We had the Calamari, Gyro Pizza and the fruit tart along with iced tea and Kenai honeymoon beer. The taste of each dish was a wonderful adventure. The real kicker is the price was less or equal to any comparable restaurant I have been to in Alaska and this is by far the best overall experience I’ve had in Alaska. Oh yeah the service was amazing too! I can’t recommend this place enough.

It was a busy Friday night when my husband and I visited. We were a bit concerned at first, as we were seated in a seemingly awkward place right by the stairs. However, we soon settled in, and found our focus was much more on the good food rather than our seats. We had the pork empanadas as an appetizer, my husband ordered the nachos and I had the lamb shank pie. All of it was delicious, and our server was attentive. We can't wait to visit again.

This place is fine. It's kinda out of the way. Food was fine, but not of any particular note, in my mind. Drinks were fine. Really the problem was the service. Downstairs, I felt like the service was appropriate, but upstairs I was not impressed. Also, they made us wait for 35 minutes for a table, and then when we get upstairs 5 of the 11 tables were empty. Very odd. Maybe it was just a weird night.

This place was absolutely one of the best local restaurants I've ever tried in USA! Could not be happier with fish and gyro we ordered. Everything we had was scrumptious. The mac n cheese had caramelized onions to really give some flavor pop, and the spring salad was delicious. Every bite had fresh, new flavors. My friend who had often been disappointed by the place loved everything this time around.

Limited lunch menu that consists of pizza, appetizers, salad, and sandwiches/burgers. The dinner menu has a few more entree options. This is not a bad thing by any means. By having a smaller menu, the establishment has higher quality food. Everything I've tried so far has been delicious. Due to my schedule, I've only had the lunch menu, but I have not been disappointed. The interior is a modern design on rustic decor. You can tell a lot of thought went into the interior design and everything is tasteful and fits the theme, lending to an enjoyable experience. Overall, a great experience and I look forward to going back. The only element of uncertainty I have is parking. The parking lot is not that large, and I'm not sure of the nearest place to park your vehicle if it is full.

We have visited the Rustic Goat many times over the years and we have always enjoyed it. The staff are always very engaging making all of our visits enjoyable. Never had a disappointing dish. We find the prices very fair. Looking forward to returning soon.

Chicken Rockefeller pizza is the only thing ive ever eaten here. I go back for more though! Really good, quality, gresh tasting ingredients. Service is good, though waitstaff doesnt really know about their menu. Really enjoy the patio while enjoying a good selection of craft beers, IPAs, and ciders. Reccomended for a relaxing afternoon or a pleasant and quiet evening.

I was visiting anchorage from nyc and had dinner here my last night. The pizza was INCREDIBLE I was really impressed!!! They’ve got a great drink menu and the bartenders were really friendly. If I’m ever back in town I would love to stop by again.

It was a busy Friday night when my husband and I visited. We were a bit concerned at first, as we were seated in a seemingly awkward place right by the stairs. However, we soon settled in, and found our focus was much more on the good food rather than our seats. We had the pork empanadas as an appetizer, my husband ordered the nachos and I had the lamb shank pie. All of it was delicious, and our server was attentive. We can't wait to visit again.

This place is fine. It's kinda out of the way. Food was fine, but not of any particular note, in my mind. Drinks were fine. Really the problem was the service. Downstairs, I felt like the service was appropriate, but upstairs I was not impressed. Also, they made us wait for 35 minutes for a table, and then when we get upstairs 5 of the 11 tables were empty. Very odd. Maybe it was just a weird night.

I was so impressed with the service at the bar and the amazing food. So much fun to watch the crew work and prepare the food. I only had one night in Anchorage and I sure picked the right place to eat and have a good beer. Met and chatted with a cool local couple and the vibe was great. Keep up the great work Rustic Goat!!!

Omg so I had the Bison Sliders an WOW!! SOOO GOOD!! I also liked how there were Dinosaurs on top of the Tap station... .super cool! Also my first time with the Black Raven IPA... .super tasty!! Love this place!

Staff was friendly but the restaurant itself was a little too loud and had a long wait time for food. They were out of one of the few vegetarian options. Didn't have a selection of appetizers which was odd but that might just be a restaurant choice. Fried rice and kimchi was good.
