This Restaurant corresponds to the category of American restaurant.
Good food. Good service. Pleased. Would recommend. Relaxing environment.
This was okay. American food. They were watching soap operas though and very attentive. I also didn't like the up charges for refills and everything else.
Feels like your family when you eat not to mention the food is good homestyle cooking. Definitely a place to go a couple times a week if you don't wanna cook at home!!
Good breakfast
Love love love this place!
Great to eat with families and company meetings friendly workers and great food.
The woman that works at and owns this restaurant has a heart of gold gives Fantastic service and works very hard to serve to love and to take care of this restaurant. Not only is it a good restaurant but when no one could possibly love me or understand me she gave me a chance and I’m so grateful for that. Oh and the food is SUPER YUMMY AS WELL!!!!!
Outstanding and funny lady who does all the table work. Great hospitality and food was amazing.
This is a long serving restaurant that while not pretty has a decent selection and the food is reasonably good.
Food is always good, service is the best, the pies cannot be beat ! I've been a customer for over 50 years. Had another great breakfast this morning.
The foid is delicious and the service is great! I will definitely be back! ♡
The pecan pie is a solid 10/10. Everyone knows eachother by name and the foods good.
Fantastic, "Cheers", like atmosphere, with stellar food & service!
If you like milkshakes, and if you like pie, head on down because they will blend them together and its absolutely amazing.
Holy Cow! I was there in 1998 on my way to work in King Salmon for Doc David McGuire (RIP) and it was awesome! Great food and while talking to a gentleman across the counter I saw him on the TV, which was over his head. He was running for Governor. He lost but was a very nice man and I enjoyed talking to him. All the people I talked to were very friendly, not like other large city restaurants. When I get back there I will stop again. Hope it never changes.
Great. Good. And. Service. Our. Hostess. Chin. Was. Great. She. Is. Very. Friendly
Classic, casual restaurant with great food. Halibut sandwich was fabulous. Well-worn, outdated furnishings may not be for the fashionable crowd, but the place definitely evokes nostalgia for bygone days - simple food done well. Glad we gave it a try instead of places listed on the tourist map
Always has good good and you can get pie to order
Open early (6AM) and serves a mean breakfast! Proper American diner experience with huge portions for the hungry. Amen
Food is always great. Classic hometown restaurant that one could be comfortable in anywhere.
I’ve been a irregular regular here for years. A nice bit of camaraderie in the place. An interesting mixture of clientele. Very consistent. A decent square for the money. If I have pie I always ask for what was made today!
Peggy's lives up to their well earned reputation for great good and friendly service! And their pies...oh my!
Unfortunately it's not that good. I went there again to see if perhaps the 1st time was just bad timing. No flavor to food. People here told me it used to be good. They dont know what happened?
We walked in for breakfast just before 11am, and ordered right away. The server brought out our coffee, and continued to refill the tables next to ours and not even offering to us. We ordered biscuits and gravy and corned beef hash. After being there for 50 min. The biscuits and gravy comes out, and she says the other plate will be out soon. We are both starving at this point so we share my breakfast. We can hear the manager in the kitchen yelling about a missing corn beef hash and telling our server to go “hunt” other tables to see which table she brought it to. After hearing that, we were disgusted that they would take food off of another table to bring to us. We’re pretty much done eating the biscuits and gravy (the eggs that came with it were almost completely raw). We found our server and asked to cancel the order for the other meal, and the manager says we’ve got the corned beef hash we’re just making the eggs for it. (I guess they “found” it). I told here we are all set, she asked if we wanted it to go, it was after Noon at this point. I told her we had already been there for over an hour and we’d just like to pay and leave. No apologies from either server or manager. Overall disappointed and disgusted with Peggy’s.
I've been coming here for over 35 years! My family really enjoys the laid back atmosphere and wonderful service.
Mashed potatoes tasted like baked potatoes.
The service was pretty good (unusual for Alaska, I'm finding out) but the food was not very good. And the place is quite run down.
Not so great. Really old, needs to be updated. Food seemed not so fresh
Always good home cooking
Great family American style from the 70s place.
Very nice, good food, staff was great
Peggys’ is a return to the sixties, complete with a darling “grandma” & all kinds of comfort foods—not to forget home made pies for dessert. In fact I called to buy a pie for my newly diagnosed diabetic mom, & Nancy special made a sugarless hot-from-the-oven apple pie. The mature staff here really make you feel like you are at home. Keep up the great work & NEVER retire!!!
Always friendly and amazing service!! Love Suzy and Nacy by so much!!!!!!! Best homemade pies :)!!!
It's a great place to start your morning Whit a friendly good smile and good people
Been there a couple of times to give them a second chance its never good
Tasty and friendly. A personable atmosphere in a local/long-term venue that serves a comprehensive menu of homemade delights. Be sure to save room for their plethora of delicious pies.
Good food and polite servers. The outside is a bit shabby, but don't let that turn you off. Interior and bathrooms are clean. The portions are really big. Wait time was a little long, even though there were only a few other people in the restaurant.
Excellent food and service!
If you are expecting good customer service, you might want to think again about coming here. I had to track down the elderly waitress to politely ask about seating. She in return was curt and not at all pleasant in her responses throughout my visit. The food was okay if you like exceptionally runny over easy eggs and mushy hash browns for breakfast. For a place that is supposedly known for its pies, the lemon meringue was runny and not very flavorful. The pie crust was good, though. Over all, I doubt I'll be enticed to return.
Good food but the waiter to old she should retire and let a young women work. But other then that it's all good
I've been eating here since back in the 80s. I find that you get good food, good portions and good prices. I also feel comfortable eating alone or with others.
An old fashioned place that has been around forever. Good enough food and cheap prices. Very good pies. The interior is outdated. The whole place has a very local feel.
Great Food Super Great People
Good homestyle food...but The pies are the stars.. reasonable prices
We have eaten at alot if restaurants in the last week of our visit to Anchorage and Peggys was by far the best breakfast in town. A hidden jewel.
Great company good food awesome planes on the ceiling check this place out no joke
Always great food & service, been coming here 30+ years
Comfortable homely atmosphere, nostalgic classic old-timey diner with reasonable prices, strong coffee, and good portions of delicious food!
Always great service and great food.
Great selection, great quality, and friendly service. What's not to like?
I love this place!
Great food, friendly service and great prices.
Great pies !
A wide variety of comfort food at great prices. Save room for a slice of pie.
Very good pie.
A great place to eat they have good breakfast they have good burgers and your waitresses are so great at their job
Always exactly what I expect and pie! Nancy is the best!
Love this place, we don't live in town and this is my favorite place to eat. My late father's favorite spot so now it brings back great memories and along with good service and great food. Home away from home.
Great breakfast for the price. Don't get the working man's breakfast unless you have a working man's appetite!
Love the Denver omelet
Service was very friendly and the breakfast was great
Wonderful food good prices great staff and good coffee
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing pie... what more could you ask for?!
Owner (Nancy) is very nice and eager to make your time at Peggy's enjoyable as possible. Spend many breakfast and dinners at the restaurant and always a pleasure when in anchorage on business I'm there daily.
Great place to eat and not too pricey. Nice people run it and nice people eat there
Food was pretty good but the service was lacking.
Dirty dishes, rude servers, very slow service, food was cold when server brought it to the table.
Simple, Clean American FOOD!!!
Great local spot just outside Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Service is quick and makes you feel like an old, family friend. The décor is local and unique. Very spacious between the first and second floor space available. Reindeer (caribou) sausage is a great addition to most dishes. Seafood is local and seasonal (they'll tell you what's in our out of season).
Great food, don't forget to get a slice of pie!!!
Good food affordable food in a hole in the wall kinda environment.
Good service. Good food. Owners make you feel like you are part of the family. Ambiance makes you feel like you are eating at home.
Nasty food not hot or no favor at all don't eat here price to high
A 3rd generation family owned and operated diner that has a reputation for its excellent food.
Good quality food with an old fashioned feel to the restaurant. Reasonably priced too
Key lime pie that makes me melt. Awesome staff and management. Definitely an iconic Alaskan joint with some good history. I have a hard time driving past without stopping for a cup of coffee and a slice o pie. You won't be disappointed.
Best place to eat stop every time I'm in town best service and food.
Good breakfast and great service
Excellent local diner. Great service and friendly people. The rhubarb homemade jam was delicious!
the food was cold when I got it...
I love there pies
We ate here on our Alaskan vacation from the lower 48. Food was decent, but unfortunately seemed like everybody in the place had gray hair. As a couple in our mid twenties, we didn't really fit in.
Old time diner with a diner menu. My eggs were cooked perfectly and my special nutritional needs weren't an issue. The staff was warm and inviting. Now I understand why Peggy's has been an Anchorage landmark for so many years.
Service can be a little slow but they refill drinks in a timely manner and are friendly. Best pies available locally!
Pretty standard diner food. They don't use a lot of salt, which is nice. Good place to go with older people.
Such good food. Great service.
Good little diner.
Best home cooking in Anchorage. Great food, good service, and fair prices.
Great food nice staff
Sourdough pancakes are on point! Great service and nice old fashioned atmosphere.
Food was bland and cold and the service slow. The upside is it was cheap. Didn't try their "famous" pie due to such slow service.
It small place, but food was really good. Forgot to take pictures, but portions were generous.
No on follows instruction on meal details
Love Peggy's old Alaskan feel. But you'd better make sure you tell them exactly what you want. I ordered two sunny side up eggs on a bed of crispy hash browns topped with cheddar cheese. They gave me eggs on the side and my hash browns were covered in cheese
People were nice.. local breakfast place
Very friendly atmosphere, my Denver omelet was amazing. Will definitely be back!
Old school diner where the conversation is as important as the people and more important than the time of day. Family run, fast friendly service and whether you're a regular or first-timer, you're made to feel right at home.
My favorite place to eat in Anchorage. Great food and service, the prices are reasonable too
Great pie mmm yummy tasty baby.
Awesome food. The servers are great. You don't wait very long at all. They know most of the people by first name basis.
Small town feel, great service, great food and prices. These ‘diners’ are hard to find nowadays. I recommend swinging by here. Had reindeer sausage egg plate with coffee, very filling plate.
Great food with decent prices. Service was excellent. We had our grandson with us. He is very picky and they were great at accommodating him. My new favorite restaurant!
Peggy's is just classic. It's an old American diner but the seats are in great shape and very comfy. Staff is friendly and does a great job. I always get some sort of breakfast, and my eggs are always cooked perfectly, nice big strips of tasty bacon, perfect country gravy and big fluffy waffles. I always enjoy eating there. Friendly greetings when you enter and leave.
Very “hole in wall” but some of the best food I have ate. We are there for breakfast traveling from Kansas. The one server they had was handling 25 plus tables and had a smile on her face the whole time. Very quick turn around on food and was decently priced. Would recommend to anyone.
Good food & friendly staff
Excellent food, good service
Great food nice portions
Hadn't been here in a while. The staff was very friendly and great food!
Good home cooking and selection
Good diner. Small town feel right down to the waitress who’s been there for years and knows all the locals who are regulars.
I had the ham and cheese omelet and it was huge and wonderful. We were also given homemade rhubarb jelly that was fantastic!
The owner Nancy makes it feel like I've come home to eat with all of my friends and family enjoying a great meal together.
If you enjoy an old fashioned family run diner with great food specials and the best pie in Alaska you need to eat here. Don't come in the door expecting everything to be delivered to you in minutes, this is a place to come and relax. Sit up front at the counter for daily discussions on trucks, politics and everything aero and automotive. Kick back in the dining room with family and friends, or bring a party to the upstairs party room. We always buy pies from here for the holidays, Nancy (the owner) makes all of their baked goods by hand, and will make just about any custom pie you could ask for, and many of them in sugar free!
Cant go wrong with their breakfasts
Great service; dishes appealing,
Good food, fair price. Pies are excellent.
Was looking forward to a quick meal and piece of Peggy's famous pie. When we went in, there were people seated at one table, the waitress had just gone upstairs to look for a whole pie a young man had asked about. There were some tables where dishes had been removed, but not one table that had been wiped clean, and a horribly strong smell of disinfectant wafted from down the hall. A man was sitting at the counter totaling receipts but he ignored us. We were there long enough for the smell to become nauseating, so we left without ever seeing a menu.
Favorite place to go for a meal
Food is great and service is friendly.
Hubby and I had breakfast here before flying back to Barrow. We got to meet the owner who has been using the same pie recipes that the original owner did. Good sized portions and very filling! My only complaint is that the country gravy was a little bland. Other then that...amazing!
Great family owned, kid friendly, Mom and Pops dine in restaurant. Excellent home made pies. One of the oldest running restaurants in Alaska.
The salad was excellent, but the chili was bland.
Definitely a very homelike place. Great food and great service.
Always good service and food
Best sourdough hotcakes this side of my grandma's house! When I can't get my grandma's, I come to Peggy's!
Was not bad
Great spot for pies and shakes! Breakfast was good as well!
Great Breakfasts.
