We were seated and left alone for quite a while. When we asked for chicken wings as a starter, they showed up the same time as our main dishes. The lady who delivered them said to us they take longer to cook and that we needed to order them ahead if we wanted them sooner than our main dish. I mentioned we did, but that it was okay, she got a little sassy and replied “well I’m not saying you didn’t.” I tried to brush it off, the waiter himself was a disappointment, he sat us without water at first, and took a while to come back, take our order, and bring me a beer. The restaurant was not full, it was quiet and slow.. I ordered halibut and chips- it tasted, smelt and felt OLD, like it had been sitting in the fridge for a bit. I recommend going to the Hangar instead if you’re looking for a good piece of fish. The other food at our table was good. Service poor, rude, and unprofessional.

Just had lunch at the downtown restaurant the service was good,the waitress was smiling and friendly food seemed to have taken a little longer than necessary but when served it was hot and very good. I would recommend the American burger with a Rainer Beer very refreshing! The price was actually reasonable .

It's tough to get a drink in this bar. That's because, although there seems to be plenty of staff, they often leave the bar unattended and haven't sense of urgency. In addition, the food is freezer-to-fryer and kind of a let down. I won't be back.

Had the old fashioned burger and it was really good my wife had the halibut and chips, she loved it grilled cheese with ham for our little one and brownie Alameda for dessert definitely go to the downtown location it is awesome, so fresh n tasty, great portions n awesome customer service.

This is a fun sports bar, every tv has a different game/sports-talk/event going on, with a ticker tape display on one side of the bar. I was craving avocado, and they offered a BLT with avo, SO good but so big it was impossible (for me) to finish. The service was great. Recommend this place!

I'd give this place 3.5 stars if I could, so I rounded up to be fair. I typically get wings when I eat here with friends from work. It's not my type of restaurant, but it has a good social atmosphere. I feel like the menu is a bit lackluster, but also I LOVE their pretzel sticks with beer cheese appetizer. If you want bar food, this is the place to go. As an aside, my 12-year-old loves their pizza.

Terrible service! Waitress was rude. After we waited for 20 min to get a menu, we waited another 15 to get her to come over to the table. After she finally came to take our order, she said what can I get you?, then a man she knew walked up to her at that moment, and she turned her back on us and visited with him for 4 minutes and 17 seconds. I turned my timer on my phone. We were shocked. I told my friends, lets get the hell out of here! But I was stuck between them and wouldnt let me out. So when she was done visting, she flipped around and said "Are you ready yet?" No sorry. No nothing. We did stay but waited another 25 minutes for a rueben sandwich, soup, and sliders. Will not be coming back! I called and asked for the owner to please call me back. But that never happened. So when all my summer customers ask where a good place to eat is in Juneau? It wont be McGiveney's!

First time to Juneau and wandered in for some food. The staff here is awesome! They were all very friendly and knowledgeable, and a couple of them ad to the beautiful scenery of this small town. They bent over backwards to accomidate our needs including allowing us to order lunch an hour before the normal time lunch is served and the fish and chips.......perfect. I would definitely recommend McGivney to anyone looming for great service, great food, and a great staff.

Staff are friendly, though they are always out of items on their menu. Whether it be breakfast or dinner. Everytime I come here I always have to pick another item because the item I initially wanted they don't have. What's the point if putting it on the menu if they're going to be out of it... frustrating!

The Irish Nachos were great and so was the Ruben Sandwich. However I was disappointed with the selection on the menu. They have lots of "healthy" options, but you don't go to a bar for healthy food.

Went to watch the game on Sunday with my grandfather. Usually we go to Bullwinkles but they dont have FOX anymore thanks to GCI cable. So, we thought that we'd give Mcgivneys a try. HUGE MISTAKE. Service was terrible, vibe was uncomfortable (servers act burdened by us even though we were ordering food and drink steadily throughout) Food sucked. PS dont buy the Reuben or the philly cheese steak sandwich. The price per item was not the same as what the menu reflected. I left Mcgivneys hungry, sober, and $76 poorer. Not to mention, the mouse that rocked the restaurant on Sunday. If the mouse was running around the loud bar on sunday, imagine how many mice are in the back where there is food and less noise! Anyway...seeing as how this was my second terrible experience with Mcgivneys....I will never be going back.

New location. As per usual, McGivney's concentrates on the sports bar aspect and you can see at least 6 TVs from every location. Their tagline is Every Game Every Day and that seems to be true. Great bar options and a super cool interior. Excellent menu and food for my omnivore friends, but I'd like to see true vegan options available (not just vegetarian, which equals lots of cheese and eggs).

Love McGivneys! My favorite thing on the menu is the steak salad. They used to put blue cheese crumbs on it and they are missed. The service has always been pleasant and the food is good.

I'll be honest, there's nothing really wrong with this place. The decor felt like they were trying just a little too hard, but the food was produced quickly and presented pleasingly. My big negatives come from the fact that this McGivney's was simply not as pleasant to dine at as the valley location. The atmosphere isn't as cozy, the differences in the menu just so happened to hit on one of my favorite selections, and the general vibe I got was that the servers were surprised to see me; that's not a bad thing, but it made the experience feel a little off.

Food is ok. Staff is ok. They should be a little more customer oriented. I wanted to sub onion rings for fries and they charged me $8. Its not that serious is it? Same thing happened with a side of cheese for a friend of mine. Im not a cruise ship passenger but if i was i would be concerned about the "o ur a cruiser" mentality that is prevalent in Juneau. The Mc givneys location in the valley is great!.

Some of the food was ok. We had a party of 6. Pork chop needs brine, but was cooked perfectly. All salads under seasoned. Burgers overcooked but fairly tasty and juicy. Ahi overcooked and underseasoned. Marsala pasta was dry and needed to be buttered out. Service staff slightly overwhelmed on a not so busy night. From a pro chef and food judge, I would say that the chef is very creative, but needs to not try to do so much. Irish, Asian, Italian, Canadian, American, and the list goes on. Cut the menu down. Focus on your top sellers and give them a fine tune. Cheers

Loved the large and meaty halibut fish and chips! Also had the Barbeque brisket with mashed potatoes, cole slaw and huge slice of cornbread. Portions are fairly large and delicious. We absolutely did not need the crab bisque (but glad we did). Great atmosphere and best place to watch a Seahawks game. Thanks for a wonderful meal McGivney's!

Our large group stopped in, last minute for breakfast. They accommodated us quickly and the service was fantastic! We all loved our food. Bacon waffles were a big hit! Great place to watch a game as well. Would definitely come back.

The food was great but the service was horrible. We literally saw our waiter once in an hour and a half and had to ask for everything we got. There were no drink refills offered. I would only come back if there were a game on that I couldn't see anywhere else or if I could have a different waiter.
