Employees wash their hands in cold water. I know this because I have asked two and they are really trying to find a new job. Also a lady was in there holding up her food with a disgusted look on her face and her eggs were seriously raw. Uncooked and served to her. Runny eggs or not they are supposed to be cooked enough where the eggwhites are no longer visible. Also a gentleman behind me was disgusted with his food and yup you guessed it. So was I. I will never again go there. They all look high on drugs to!

I came here for dinner with my wife and 4 kids. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean enough but the food was awful. I ordered the broiled chicken that looked like about 1/3 of an actual breast and tasted like it had been cooked yesterday and then reheated. Nobody else liked their food either. In short... I won't be back

We hit this popular restaurant on our way back to Anchorage, and had a great breakfast. Table service was a little lacking. Coffee cups when empty several times. Suggestion: leave a small carafe of coffee on the table, if it gets too busy to accommodate refills.

We have eaten here a few times and it has been okay. Prices aren't too bad and food is mediocre at best. However, today will be my last time ever visiting. Went in for lunch and it wasn't busy at all, so figured it was the perfect time. We were barley greeted by the hostess when we were seated. We sat and waited 10 minutes for some one to come take our order. Which, never happened. The waitress address the table that was seated after us, but never came to our table to even offer drinks. So if you want horrbile service with okay food this is the place for you, however if you actually want amazing food with amazing service go to The Trout House! They are amazing!

Best restaurant ever! Friendly. Associates waiting on you are prompt, friendly, smiling, using proper comments to patrons, orders are concise, nice people. Cooks are faster than any fast food joint, the food is delivered fresh off the stove. So no waiting for the food orders. Yet the food is home made like or better!

Took my 3 year old daughter there for breakfast one morning. Halfway through our meal, she had to use the restroom, so I took her, and waited outside the door for her to finish. When we returned to our table, it had been cleared, and reseated. I was then charged the full price of the meal, but they cheerfully returned my daughters stuffed animal, which we'd left there while at the bathroom. Absolutely a first for me.

Mat-Su Family Restaurant is a family-owned restaurant. There is usually not a wait, you are seated quickly. The waitresses are pleasant and efficient. My food has always come out quickly and piping hot. I generally only get one item but my spouse has tried many of their options and liked everything that he has tried. My favorite is the Patty Melt. It is simple and delicious. Please, if you have a chance, give them a try. They won't disappoint.

The service was prompt and friendly and this was during a busy time. I ordered the halibut fish and chips and the fish was amazing! Definitely in the top 3 of fish and chips I’ve ever had. Not too much breading, the fish was firm, just really excellent. I would come here again.

This is a great family place to eat especially for breakfast. They open early and have something for every one and their prices are very reasonable. They have big portions and the people who work there are very nice. They have a good kids menu which is a must for us.

We went for lunch ordered halibut sandwich which was really great, husband ordered spaghetti which was really awful, the noodles were mushy and it was tasteless, we did not get the side salads we ordered till after the meal and sent them back since they cost extra we also ordered a vanilla shake which was just flavored milk with whipped cream. The service was awful, we got the wrong drinks and then no refills till it was time for the check. The waitress tried to take our credit card without showing us the bill. We will not be back. It's a shame it's been around a long time maybe they do better with breakfast.

Went there in 2013. Manager or owner counted money at the bar, spoke harshly to staff AND had the worst pie ever. Crust tasted like smashed cake verses real crust. I love pie and not that picky...but could not eat this ..two bites and left.

Had quick friendly service as a customer but I had an interview there & was seated to wait for the owner out on basically front street. I had every staring at me just chillin in a booth twiddling my thumbs while customers stared in confusion as to my intentions for a lil over 30 MINUTES.....Talk about uncomfortable & rude. I REALLY DID WANT TO WORK THERE, but NOT AFTER THAT!!!

Its one of the few available family restaurants in Wasilla, but they offer a wide variety of hearty homestyle eastern european, italian & american dinners. Everything from light snacks to hearty lunches and soups, with breakfasts served all day. They offer comfortable and cozy booth seating options as well as comfortable table and chair setups for large groups or those who don't like booths. It is nicely decorated. The service is usually excellent from wait staff to the properly cooked meals. The prices are average for our area. All in all, a place I would recommend anytime.

Not what we expected based on reviews. Food was bland and the hash browns were downright awful. Soggy, greasy, barely cooked and not crispy at all. Busser never smiled and was very brusque. Server told people to order better next time if they wanted their food better. Will not be ever going there again. Only good thing was the eggs were cooked perfectly to order and once we added some salt the food that was not hash browns was ok. Mat-suans should head to Fairbanks and try some of the excellent breakfast foods there!
