The "Bone" still has the best burger on the planet! I went there last week, after 32 years away from Alaska. The jumbo burger tasted exactly the same ... PERFECT! The service was still friendly and exceptional. The burger was PERFECT. Wait ... I said that. The only thing that made me sad was that they stopped serving crinkle-cut French fries. Our server told us they stopped the crinkles 6 years ago. I guess that's what I get for staying away so long. I must say, the new skinny fries were darned good, and the fry sauce was SOOOO tasty. Sadly, I'm back in Silicon Valley. I'll have to wait until next year for another burger from the Bone. I wish they could overnight one to me!!!

The WW2 memorabilia is a really nice touch to a nice old fashioned restaurant like this. The fried chicken is really good and so is their malts. Like this restaurant, I have many other childhood memories of other places in Alaska like Sea Life Center, Diamond Center and Lawrence's house. Speaking of which my dad's friend Lawrence went to this place maybe about a week ago and I started to kind of wish I was there with him. We ate there back in July of 2015 on our way back to the airport to fly back to Oklahoma.

Busy, iconic Anchorage lunch spot, famous for their chicken (which I will try on a subsequent visit). I got one of their full-sized burgers, which was plenty by itself, without their highly praised fries. Leaving here hungry doesn't seem like an option!

Had the daily special, one of 8 soups daily & a tuna sand. I cannot wrap my head around the chicken there, it looks deep fried, not pan fried. Had a brownie sundae, was good, just a little to much whipped cream. Server was pleasant. VERY busy at lunch hour.

This place is the BEST. First, you walk in and wait for seating, but not really because the service is super fast. Then you sit down at a nice table and are immediately served by the best people in town. You order, and it's there within 10-15 minutes, and they are always packed. I would go there everyday if I could. The area of town isn't the best, but the Lucky Wishbone brightens it up.

We have been going to Lucky Wishbone since 1972. I can't get beyond the jumbo cheese and fries (never try to finish a basket of fries by yourself). So good, so friendly, so perfect. I'll add that my husband always has a chocolate malt - small.

The food is very good. There isn't much option for customizing anything, and the prices add up very quickly, but it is nostalgic considering how long the business had been around. The workers were very nice and quick with their service and the halibut sandwich was especially delicious. The basket of fries is quite large... In case you are ordering for just yourself.

It's everything you want from a Mom & Pop diner: delicious food, low prices, and great service. They've been around since basically forever, and it's because of consistently great casual dining. I've also spoken with a APD family member (who has seen the inside of many cheaper restaurant kitchens on account of getting called in) who specifically mentioned Lucky Wishbone as having a spotless kitchen, even at the end of a long workday. I recommend ordering the chicken 'extra crispy'.

Food is good for the price, but the customer service I had at the drive thru today around 2:45-3pm from a young girl (she had short natural hair twists, glasses, and for description purposes, she was black ) left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I come up to the drive thru I could already tell she had a negative attitude. No hi , how can I help you. She simply looked at me expectantly. I asked a question about the size of the chicken drumsticks/legs etc. and she seemed annoyed and confused I was even asking the question. Okay , great start . I order my food , pay , entire exchange I'm getting this negative , annoyed vibe from her , no thank you, no this will be out in a minute , not really any customer service etiquette at all . I'm hoping to get this over with . I get my food, and she hands it to me, as I prepare to put the food down and just take this customer service interaction as a loss she rudely says "well , you're welcome ." And briskIy walked away before I could call her out on it. I'm not saying thank you for shitty passive aggressive service . The poor customer service wasn't blatant enough to walk in and complain, but enough that I'll think twice before I come here and if I do , I'll request someone else if she is ever my server/cashier. She needs proper training. Everyone else I've ever encountered has been kind and courteous from what I can recall. Pretty disappointed .

Absolutely fantastic. The chicken was perfect. It reminded me of meals my grandmother would make for me as a small boy. They even have the Golden Oldies playing just as she did. It was an experience I will not forget and will forward to have again.

Best fried chicken and shakes in Anchorage! I recommend the raspberry, it has real raspberries in it, and salted caramel shakes. I will say the fries and cornbread are a bit bland but the chicken more than makes up for it. It's a very casual diner style restaurant. The staff is always fast and friendly. Give it a try!

Since living in Alaska for a long time, I have never tired this place and today was my day I finally went in with my family of 5. I'm impressed with the service and food. Our waitress was so nice and made us feel comfortable there. I order their fried chicken and coleslaw and it's was amazing. Doesn't feel too greasy or salty just perfect and the wait time wasn't a long wait. I also took a bite lol of my son's burger and it was so delicious. I'm so happy I made a decision to come in today, because I'm coming back for some more. If you haven't tried this place don't wait so long like I did lol.

One of the top 3 best chicken restaurants in town. The chicken is very fresh, and has a great taste to it. Serving size is more than enough to fill you up for lunch and dinner, the pieces are a great size. They have burgers as well along with other menu items. You can also take a family meal home if you like it that much. Friendly and fast service. If you're from the south, they do not have southern sweet tea, it's more northern sweet tea. They have about 4 desserts on menu.

First visit in years. Food was really good. Had the mom lunch, which was a breast leg and wing. Chicken was moist and tender, while remaining crunchy. Sides were good. Rings and fries can feed 2 people, so order for what you want. Rings were not bad at all and fries were good. Couple people in our party ordered shakes and could not stop complimenting them.

I have mixed feelings about Lucky Wishbone. On one hand, it's a long-standing pillar of the Anchorage dining community. Locals eat here more than tourists, which is good. Many items on the menu are scratch-made and delicious; the pan-fried chicken stands out as the obvious example. The milkshakes, too, are fantastic. On the other hand, the menu is hit-or-miss. Step outside of their standard turf of burgers and fried chicken, and you're in a minefield. I ordered a fried fish sandwich that was just a store bought frozen fish. (It's Alaska . . . fish is a big deal). The iced tea is not freshly brewed. The fries are exactly like McDonald's fries. Those little annoyances add up, I'm afraid. Still, if you want fried chicken and an amazing malted milk shake in a truly Alaskan environment, look no further.

Great staff, great management, and a classic diner atmosphere that's rarely found in Alaska. It's not only a landmark of Anchorage but rich in the history it holds as its own. Get a burger. This is definately a old time cafe with a lot of cool history and great food. If your looking for a good burger, fried chicken or malt this is the spot for you. They have a number of great items on the menu I plan on trying in the near future. It may not look like much from the outside but it has a nice diner feel on the inside. Make sure you beat the rush, sometimes a line of people will run out the front door waiting for a seat. Very good food!

They are quite the spot in the evening, so prepare for wait times. I had their chicken with coleslaw and it was delicious. Their coleslaw had pineapple pieces and is a must try! The service was great, they got people in and out pretty fast and everyone looked and/or was happy.

Tastes just like how my grandmother used to make - grilled cheese, fresh cornbread, perfectly fried chicken, and the salmon chowder was AMAZING. Will be my weekly cheat meal for a long time.
