An excellent experience. We were first timers at Kinley's tonight for our anniversary. Service start to finish was spot on; attentive without being intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable providing perfect suggestions for food and beverage pairings. The food: Fantastic. A great atmosphere for conversation. The check left us feeling pleased with the entire experience. Definitely recommend!

I have had good experiences and poor experiences at Kinley's. My most recent experience (4/15/19) was good. The food is typically top notch, but service is what seems to bring the experience down for me. I have a large family (8+), mostly adults, and when you get that many people together, the service has to be at the top of their game to keep up, and that's where trouble happens. When I have gone with groups of 4 or less, it seems to equalize - the service is better, and the food is great. It is a little upscale, but for Anchorage, I think you could still get away with wearing carhartts.

Came across this place by accident. Was going to the Moose pizza place next door but there was an hour wait. Glad we came next door to Kinley's. Nice place. Much nicer on the inside than you'd expect from the outside. Modern decor with a slight rustic touch. Friendly hostess. Waiter was very knowledgeable. Interesting items on the menu. Had several apps... bacon wrapped dates were good... better if I had noticed the garlic butter at the bottom of the cup. Would also liked to have seen the dates soaked in more garlic butter. Mushroom soup could have been heavier and creamier, so it was my least favorite dish of the evening. A little watery. But the STAR was the calamari steak app. Waiter said it was his favorite, and he was right. It was amazing. Huge steak of calamari sliced up. Tender, with a garlic tomato-like sauce. Just fantastic. Would go back there just to taste this again. The only thing that should be looked at is a timing issue... the fact that our app came out before we even got our initial drink (ordered 2 beers). The place was not even 1/4 full, so not sure why 2 beers too so long. But despite these minor glitches, all in all this should definitely be on your must-visit restaurant list when in Anchorage.

Amazing food! The Taste was out of this world the presentation was beautiful the Ambiance of the entire place was perfect there were some people there but not overly crowded like you find in some other restaurants and the service was beyond phenomenal. I had a primary server but also had staff checking in on me just enough not so much that they were hovering but enough that I felt secure and not they were paying attention to me. I cannot believe that I have missed out on eating at this place for so many years. This is by far my most favorite Anchorage restaurant ever you really need to come. And Not only was the food amazing but the prices were very reasonable I walked away completely satisfied thank you so much for such a great dining experience

Terrific experience at Kinley's in Anchorage Alaska. Our bartender Gideon was awesome and the calamari steak was to die for. We also tried the bacon wrapped dates and the ahi tacos were a hit! If you are ever visiting Anchorage, I recommend trying this midtown bar and restaurant!

Every bite is the best you've ever had. The almond crusted halibut is Revelatory! Even the greens are addicting, and that's not easy to do. Service was quick, efficient and upbeat. The actual food sourcing and quality is the best available, and is fresh and local. The way they cook is unique, surprising, and really delicious. The seafood was cooked perfectly. The sauces and flavors were extremely well paired. Subtle but with a satisfactory amount of umami! (Look it up) It's just a whole new level. I'd compare it to the feeling you get after making good love.

The server was drinking when we walked in the door. We arrived around 3pm so we missed lunch, and were before dinner. We were told all that was available was the bar menu. I was not impressed with the bar menu. I was seeing great reviews so I was woefully disappointed. If I choose to go again I will make sure to go during lunch or dinner. If the server is drinking then I will likely walk out though.

All of the food was mindblowingly fantastic except for the duck entree, which was overdone, and the gnocchi that came with it was way too large and a terrible mouthfeel. My lamb sliders (no tzatziki) were amazing. I mmmm’ed through every bite. Then I ordered the fish and chips. Their fries just might be the best fries I’ve ever had in my life. Do not miss this place!!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Anchorage for many reasons. The design of the whole place is beautiful. They create an upscale environment with their branding, interior design, wardrobe of the staff, and menus. Whenever I'm in the mood for an upscale dining experience, Kinley's is my go-to. The staff is always great. There is great diversity in the kinds of people I've been served by, but not diversity in the service, which is always excellent. Although many people may be frightened off by their dinner prices, this is one of my favorite lunch spots. Their lunch menu is very well-priced offering sandwiches and entrees at a third of the price of their dinner options. It's aways delicious. My favorite lunch item is the fettucini with chicken, and it always comes out very hot ( simple thing which many restaurants seem to mess up) and consistently perfect. Great restaurant all-around.

Every visit has been good. Service is great, staff is friendly and food is delicious. I've primarily come for lunch, but have done dinner on occasion. They have a wide selection of food, for most dietary requirements. Often come with vegetarians and they have no issues with substitutions or addressing concerns. They do make some really good fries. They also have a decent drink menu. Worth a visit.

Because of my work, I travel quite a bit. I have eaten at both good and bad resturants. As far as Kinley's is concerned, giving it 1 star due to the bread we received before dinner. You took a simple dish like Chicken & Waffles and tried to elevate it, you failed. First off, the waffle was extreamly heavy, not light and fluffy. The sauce was some infused concoction that simply didn't work. The chicken was not crispy nor moist. The pictures we saw online in our opinion was not a good representation of what was offered. Very disappointed. If given a choice between a fast food restaurant and Kinley's, I will choose fast food.

Place is really nice, the food is amazing. We ordered the almond crusted halibut and the sesame crusted rockfish. Both were really good. The halibut came with a little sweet cherry and apple cider buerre blanc. The portions are pretty good too, didn't have room to try anything else. Easy to make a reservation on OpenTable.

Solid service but mediocre. I heard great reviews and altho the food was decent it was not as everyone has raved. I got the butternut ravioli and my friend got the almond crusted halibut (Which is fried) and another had the Alfredo. None of them were warm except for the brussel sprouts that we're on top of my ravioli. Not even the friend halibut. It was like they were waiting on the Brussels for a solid 5 minutes and didn't have heat lamps? The waitress was good and attentive but I feel like they all lack personability. Not that that's part of the job, but it definitely makes the experience better when they are. I don't think I'd return unless someone else wanted to go.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Anchorage for many reasons. The design of the whole place is beautiful. They create an upscale environment with their branding, interior design, wardrobe of the staff, and menus. Whenever I'm in the mood for an upscale dining experience, Kinley's is my go-to. The staff is always great. There is great diversity in the kinds of people I've been served by, but not diversity in the service, which is always excellent. Although many people may be frightened off by their dinner prices, this is one of my favorite lunch spots. Their lunch menu is very well-priced offering sandwiches and entrees at a third of the price of their dinner options. It's aways delicious. My favorite lunch item is the fettucini with chicken, and it always comes out very hot ( simple thing which many restaurants seem to mess up) and consistently perfect. Great restaurant all-around.

Every visit has been good. Service is great, staff is friendly and food is delicious. I've primarily come for lunch, but have done dinner on occasion. They have a wide selection of food, for most dietary requirements. Often come with vegetarians and they have no issues with substitutions or addressing concerns. They do make some really good fries. They also have a decent drink menu. Worth a visit.

I first decided to give Kinley's a shot when the line at Moose's tooth was too long. Wish I'd discovered it sooner. The lunch menu is tasty and reasonably priced. The coconut crusted rockfish is my go-to and the bacon wrapped dates are a great starter. Best of all, it's centrally located and easy to get a table.

I am just not a fan of this place. I think their tenderloin burger is the only thing on the menu that can truly classify as spectacular. The service is decent, but inconsistent. One day you go and are very happy with the service and another time you go and it's a flop that makes you wish you picked another restaurant. Come to think of it, that is how I feel about the food as well! I think that may be why they put so much effort into wine/beer pairing events...you don't notice these failings so much if you have a good buzz on. FYI - caution with special event bookings....the portions shrink tremendously from their normal menu if you are having them host your special event!

Wholly disappointing. Staying at Embassy Suites on business, Moose Tooth has an hour wait, and I've eaten the halibut & crab dish at the hotel 2 nights in a row. I should have made it a third. I ordered the crab cakes and the scallops. I have eaten crab cakes in most of the original 13 colonies (including Maryland), Oregon, and several other states. These were easily the worst. Crab cakes are supposed to be mostly crab meat, formed into a cake, with just enough binding agent (eggs, etc) to maintain the cake structure during deep frying. On quite the contrary, these were mostly some sort of glutinous "cake" material, with what appeared to be the minimum amount of crab necessary to use the "crab" adjective. I'm not sure if the state of Alaska mandates the minimum amount of crab necessary in a dish to call it a crab cake, but if it does, trust me, these guys are in the back with a scale making sure they don't exceed the minimum. The scallops. For a measly $32, you get 4 1" diameter by 1" thick scallops, some peppers, and some rice in a cream sauce. Complete rip off. Have I mentioned that the seafood is a better value and a better dish at my HOTEL yet? This is a $18-20 dish at best. This being Alaska, I am pretty sure the peppers in the dish cost more than the scallops. I am all but certain that these guys are surviving on location - namely, their patrons consist mostly of impatient, hungry overflow from an immediately adjacent successful restaurant. I should've waited the hour at Moose Tooth...the pizza would have been more successful as a seafood dish.

The service was good, but the food was not. Our appetizers came out quickly, the French Onion Soup was burned and the beet salad had some weird grapefruit flavors. We had ordered the duck and lamb dishes. Both were too salty, and the duck also had weird spices and gummy sweet potato blobs. The lamb was ok if you're into salty (tv dinner level) foods, but nothing special. Sadly, we had to leave the dishes mostly uneaten.

Meh. Definitely do not get their oysters... terrible. The food was ok. Definitely a nothing special type of restaurant. There are far better for the price.

Great locally owned restaurant. I have a preference for fine dining places with a smaller number of main courses - I'd rather choose from a few really well made dinners than a bunch of items that the kitchen might only make once in a while. The variety of regular meals and daily specials is wonderful - highly recommend.

My oldest son and his wife were married here today and had the reception here as well. The food was good ESPECIALLY the filet mignon and the chicken & eggplant. The staff was extremely OUTSTANDING and made sure that EVERYTHING went smoothly and that each course of the meal transitioned smoothly. EVERY person was catered to as if they were a party of one instead of a part of a party of 40. I highly recommend Kinley's to anyone having a function and want that personal touch

The service was good, but the food was not. Our appetizers came out quickly, the French Onion Soup was burned and the beet salad had some weird grapefruit flavors. We had ordered the duck and lamb dishes. Both were too salty, and the duck also had weird spices and gummy sweet potato blobs. The lamb was ok if you're into salty (tv dinner level) foods, but nothing special. Sadly, we had to leave the dishes mostly uneaten.

This is an unbeatable property in Anchorage. EVERY staff member goes above and beyond, the rooms are immaculate and beautiful and the entire hotel is spotless. As a Hilton Honors diamond member, I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this one tops my list.

this place is really delicious. the lamb shank, halibut, and rock fish are all really great. we also got the caprese and Greek salads. both looked great. the bread was good. the servers are young and have some learning to do, but were good. I definitely recommend place and will go back.
