REVIEWS OF Glacier Brewhouse IN Alaska

Alex Morford

Good food and atmosphere. Their house made cream soda was delicious. The seafood in both of our dishes, however, seemed a little bit over cooked.

ME O

1st time there. Food was great. Rosemary potato bread with fig butter n chive butter, Bering Sea Red King Crab dinner. I would go again

Lance Smith

Very relaxed comfortable atmosphere, prompt service, delicious food!

A Z

Excellent salmon and halibut. Service was fast, waitress gave great recommendations. Casual, yet nice presentation. A great option when visiting anchorage

Norman Payne

Great food and drinks. Not the cheapest place, but you definitely get what you pay for. I recommend making a reservation for so you don't have to brave 1 hour waits.

michael acheson

It's okay, even good at somethings. There's better...

Adam Nichols

We had an absolutely wonderful meal at the Glacier Brewhouse. They have a fantastic beer selection, extensive menu, and a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. This is a "must visit" spot if you ever visit Anchorage. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Gio and Antonio were both great and very helpful with their recommendations. Thank you!

Jason Tomberlin

One of the best casual restaurants in Anchorage. The service is always fantastic, the food is very good. They have a full bar and local brews. I have a favorite dish, jambalaya fettuccine, my wife tries different dishes and has never had a bad one.

Andrew P

Food was good, took about 45 minutes to get it though.

Our family of 6 dropped in, based on ratings and reviews, on our way out of Anchorage after a vacation. The atmosphere was a great surprise, given the outside storefront. It was a Wednesday evening and we were seated promptly and our server, Hailey R, greeted us quickly and with a big smile. She was very friendly, nice, and helpful with our questions. Our food was served very promptly and with smiles from the other servers. The beers were all great and the selection was excellent. Unfortunately our food quality was pretty disappointing. Three of our group had the herb crusted halibut and it'd be kind to say that we all were greatly underwhelmed. It was mushy, kind of greasy, and pretty tasteless - disappointing as a general menu item and just plain poor as one of the recommended, "premium" choices. The burger was "pretty good" and the the chicken was fair. The salmon was about the only really well received item and it was very good. But, the halibut was just a disaster. We enjoyed MUCH better prepared and tasty Halibut from several locations during our trip from the southern point up through Denali. Including a dive bar and a mom & pop supper club. Frankly, we get better fresh seafood for a reasonable price in central Iowa. NOT recommended. Update: The manager has responded and asked if we asked for a manager during our visit. While we were quite disappointed with our experience, particularly given the cost of the meal, our server was pretty busy and didn't check on our meals until we were almost completed, at which time it was pretty much useless to comment. We never had a visit from a manager during our meal and I'm not going to stand up and find someone to comment about poor food quality. Lastly, my wife is very uncomfortable with situations like that would create so making an issue would have made my experience even worse. Not to mention that I maintain that there should be no questions about a premium menu item. In the end, I stand by my review and I can't recommend this restaurant based on our overall experience of food quality and value.

Fast service, great menu, tasty food. Best dish was the grilled halibut. The menu only features the crusted halibut which was good but the simpler, just grilled option was far superior. Crab legs were good but a little pricy. The bread pudding was not the best I had.

Daniel Miller

Food is serviceable but not great. Beer is only mediocre, which is sad for a brewhouse.

Henry Diaz

Sat at the bar and while one particular guest was there, it felt as if my wife and I were not. Bartender hung out, leaning on the bar talking with this other guest while we waited patiently for another drink. As for the food, my wife's salad was good, however while mine was good, it was more like an appetizer than an entre. We eat out more than the average person and this was far from being worth the drive from the south side of town.

Duncan Walk

Wide selection of drinks. Great appetizers and food.

Jillian Murphy

Had a wonderful meal here with excellent service. Prices are a bit high ($25-$35 for a lunch dish) but the food is quality and ultimately I was happy to pay it.

Sherri Smith

SUPER busy on a Thursday evening! Expect to wait 1-1 1/2 hours for restaurant seating or stand near the bar like a vulture to grab first vacated seating. The servers are friendly and food service is quick. There's a mix of locals and lots of cruise passengers. A VERY popular restaurant with lots of non-alcoholic beverages, which we love! The Brewhouse Pie was my husband's favorite with a thin crust.

Laurentia A

We came in with a party of 21 around 6:30 the restaurant was packed. We were seated quickly in a quiet conference room. All food was brought promptly, but the start of the meal was the flat iron steak with root beer sauce. They were cooked perfectly and a chef Ryan checked on us to make sure everything was good. Which was all great! I highly recommend this restaurant. Way worth the price you pay for.

James Scraper

The food and service are amazing! The waitress was really knowledgeable about the food as well. It's a bit on the pricier side, but well worth it! Definitely a place to experience at least once!

Michael Tierese

We just had a amazing brunch from glacier brew house, this is not our first time here and like always they have impressed. We had a amazing bread pudding that melted down my throat. Thank you to our server Scott, not only was he an amazing server but a great problem solver also. Thank you again.

Shelby T

Everything is amazing as always. We set a reservation for 8, and arrived five mins early and were seated immediately. So that was nice. Food was hot and delicious, and for how busy it was, we waited an appropriate time for every thing. (Drinks. Apps and main course). We ordered the salmon dip to start. I LOVE smoked salmon anything and this dip did not disappoint. It was a good amount for four adults to share. Both me and my friend ordered the seafood Alfredo. BEST PASTA DISH I have ever had. Like ever. And a really decent portion of both pasta and meats, totally worth the price. My husband and my friends husband ordered the flat iron steak. Both done to their desired temperature and equally delicious. If I didn’t want to order that pasta over and over and over, I would totally order the steak. And we topped the evening off with three desserts. The peanut butter pie, which I found to be rich for my personal taste but everyone else loved it. The cheesecake, again the raspberry sauce was very overwhelming for me. I think I’d try it again Bc the actual cake was good, I’d just get the sauce on the side. And lastly my personally ordered dessert. Creme brûlée. AMAZING. It was so perfectly sweet and the carmelized top was nice and crunchy. I will definitely be ordering this again. And like most of the evening, the portion was decent for the price. Overall we had a FANTASTIC night. And will definitely be returning in the future. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. We have patronized about 5 times and never have a bad time.

Well....I was just wandering out on the streets in downtown Anchorage today shorty after noon! Yes I was hungry as I had driven up from the Kenai Peninsula starting at 3:30 AM. Coffee was all I had had. So there is was in the wind of the avenues and streets. Winds were scented with wonderful smells of the numerous cafes and restaurants having prepared great preparations of many kinds of cuisines. There went I nose in the air......! Great brew and food! Like down right flat out just good! Delicious.......every sip and gulp.... every bite and nibble....! I most assuredly want to and will return to do a certification to leave no doubts in my mind, mouth, and stomach it all was that satisfying......as often as I can!

Jeff Sims

Upscale brew pub with good seafood and fish choices. Extensive beer and spirits menu. On the pricey side but a nice splurge.

Sharon Carlisle

Pricey but good!! I had halibut that was delicious. My husband had an impressive flight of beer...liked the Jack Daniel’s Stout the best. Nice upscale atmosphere and friendly waitstaff.

Dustin Erdman

This is an up-scale pub. The 3-star rating is the result of a limited menu and is more like a 3.5 star. Don't get me wrong, small menus are preferred, as it means more care and expertise can go into the meals. But what pub doesn't have a burger on their menu? Then when the table next to us had amazing burgers and Parmesan fries brought to them, we were puzzled. Apparently the old menu DID have burgers, and are still available by request. We DID order the burgers and they were amazing. As was the calamari. The gin and tonic was weak. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Be prepared to have a wait, or do what we did, be seated in the bar. Comfortable seating and the food tasted the same as it would have at a table in the main dining area - only 40 minutes faster.

Alexander

What saves this review from 1 star is the fantastic waitress we had aside from that there was a lot of waiting. We called 5 mins before heading to the restaurant for reservations and a table but was told there was no waiting time three times, 5 mins later when we arrived we there told to wait and waited over half an hour for a table. Later between sitting and getting our appetizers there was another half hour wait. After our appetizers it took almost 40 minutes to get our entrees. In fact everyone in our party noticed two other tables seated after us get their entree and desserts before we even got our entree. And they didn't even come at the same time, one person in our party got theirs 5 minutes after the rest. After spending over 2 hours waiting we skipped dessert since our parking spot was only for two hours. The waitress was very nice though and the halibut and rock fish were good. Wish I could give a better review but the amount of waiting was too much.

Erik Fosshage

Fantastic food and drink in a comfortably modern yet rustic decor. Reasonable prices and epic beer list focusing on local brews.

Bridget Coolick

Fun and bustling lodge-type atmosphere to grab a drink, eat a tasty appetizer and meet other tourists. Great service.

Dan A

Very good food. I have enjoyed everything I have ordered here, and I always look forward to the next time. Parking can be a pain, and the wait can get long if you come during evening rush, but that is a testament to how good it is.

Kat mahn

Great food. Fun atmosphere for a bridal party lunch . Enjoyed it.

madmusial .

Food was good but very expensive. Portions seemed reasonable for the cost. Staff was helpful but not particularly accommodating. Would not recomend for large groups.

Michael Peoples

Food was fantastic, service was fantastic and the atmosphere was really cool!

Charlie Ford

Great food. Service was stellar. One in our party did not like their dish, waitress immediately noticed and brought him something else. Best seafood chowder I have ever tasted.

Austin West

Went here for dinner and brews with friends Smoked salmon dip had great dip to salmon ratio Amazing shrimp and grits! The Birch syrup creme brulee was superb The brews and cocktails we're great. The descriptions we're accurate. The place was busy but our server was very attentive I'd definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again.

Lawrence Whitsett

Great beer, food and atmosphere. Burger was just slightly to charred, otherwise I loved it.

Jamie Brennan

We had a great evening here watching OSU win the Big10 championship. We sat in the bar and even though we weren’t drinking the staff was great to us and let us hang out as long as we wanted after we finished our meals so we could watch the game. The fresh fish and chips and seafood chowder rival those from back home in Maine.

Rodrigo Valdez

Good quality food and excellent beer.. cozy ambience and excellent service.

Christan Maxwell

Suprisingly it was a good experience the wait to get items was a little bit longer than anticipated but overall the food was delicious. The Anchorage nachos are a must try and would recommend. I did like the halibut and the coconut and raspberry beer. Was not a fan of the jalapeno cornbread the syrup makes it taste burnt in the cast iron skillet, maybe because it was cooked way to long. Had a bite of the shrimp and grits a little spicy packed with a lot of heat was a little much on the heat side but was good. But for a place that seems like there is not a lot of good eating this would be one place I would stop again when I come back to when I fly through. Folks here are pretty nice.

Joe Shu

Great place for seafood. Ordered seafood corniti (don’t remember the exact name) and seafood chowder for starter, shrimp plate and king crab leg for entries, rootbeer and blonde for drink. The little bread dressed with rich crab, lobster and vegetables is really nice, 5 star recommendation. The chowder is also good but not as impressive as the bread. For entries, the king crab leg is really fresh and tasty, I always believe the best way to serve seafood is steaming it only without adding any extra seasoning. The rice served with the crab is also nice, better than any rice I have ever tried in any other US style restaurant. The shrimp plate is not that good as it is too greasy, we can barely finish it as the potato/rice is just soaking in oil. For the drink, rootbeer is more like plum flavor soda and the blonde is very light. The first few sips gave me creamy and milky feeling, but these feeling went away when I drink more. Overall, good service, good food and affordable price, deserve a five star.

Emily

Delicious seafood! Everything was delicious, beautifully served and generous portions. Excellent service! Packed and busy without feeling too loud or uncomfortably crowded. It was a congenial environment. Prices reasonable for the high quality food and generous portions.

Stace Williams

Top-notch all around. Had a flight of 5 beers, all of which were excellent. Ordered the ahi, and it was superb. Even if it hadn't been seared, it was sushi grade and delectable. The best parts were the service and the people. A former employee was sitting at the bar, and every person working there who walked by greeted him with a smile or a hug. That says a lot about this place. When in Anchorage, don't miss it!

Sunny Margu

The GB has always been our go to date night restaurant, Every visit is enjoyable and the staff are great. I recently wanted to try something different and was probably one of the dishes I ever disliked from the restaurant which was the seafood fettuccini, the pasta was hard and didn't have much taste to it either. but I will not give them any lower stars just from one dish I did not like. I do recommend the calamari, the crab legs, any steak dish or the chicken. all great dishes. the fettuccini did fall short. keep up the good work GB.

Mario Cruz

Gotta go very early or very late if you don't want to wait an hour for a table, it is obviously very popular. It was recommended by some friends that live here, as I wanted King crab legs (Our first trip to Alaska). It's a little on the pricey side, but very good food. On the other hand, if you can find seats at the bar or the bar area, there are countertops & they will take orders for anything on the menu & serve you there - yes, even at the bar! But, the bar & bar area are normally full too because most are eating there, not just having drinks. Because the place is so packed with people it is a very noisy dining experience with a lot of hustle & bustle going on; at least at the bar area. I doubt it is any different in the dining area as there is no wall separating the two. We ordered King crab legs (a pound & a half) at the bar, & of course, how can you go wrong with that!? They were very good with our craft beers. In fact there's enough meat to be shared by 2, so the $69 price isn't so bad. We will come here again on our next visit to Alaska, but next time with knowledge. :-{D

Steven Smith

Place was packed and wait was over an hour, but we opted for the bar area which had lots of seating. Even though they were packed, the server was attentive and friendly. Food was good. We were pleased. :-)

Sue Miller

My husband ordered the seafood fettuccine and the clams were dry and hard, totally overcooked, our sons ordered the double dipped chicken sandwhich and the chicken was dry.

Dan Khile

Amazing dinner, excellent service.

Xiang Cui

Overrated place. We ordered the Alaskan crab leg and very disappointed by the size, considering the price. Same priced crab leg we had in Fairbanks were much better. Also the wait time was ridiculous. We came at a low season, but it took at least 40 minutes for them to bring the food after we ordered. The waitress was also probably too busy to even ask if we wanted our chowder served first — so we waited until 9pm to get our food on the table! Overall, the food is not bad, but I’m sure you find better restaurants in the area.

Lea Hancock

Fantastic service from our waitress. Food was excellent! We had the calamari for an appetizer. Highly recommend you try it. I have had calamari all over and this was simply the best. Their Caesar salad is delicious. I had the Chile Lime Shrimp salad and my husband had the seafood fettuccine. We were not disappointed at all. Dessert we had the cheesecake. Highly recommend going to Glacier BrewHouse. I really wish we could remember our waitress’s name because she was so sweet and definitely took care us.

Noah Troy Vidal

First time to dine in this famous glacier brewhouse and the experience was terrible might be the last. Dine in with wife and kid, I ordered medium rare steak and they gave me a rare steak (yuck) they took and back to the kitchen after 5minutes it came close to medium rare wow! Really need to reconsider getting a new Chef or cook at the grill. Food temperatures are very easy to know if you been doing it on daily basis but today was really bad. Yeah i get comp for my meal why am i whining. First medium steak is not rare steak refired them and still didn’t do it right I lost my appetite and left with empty stomach. 4.3 review i think it’s overrated.

Gar Muc

Pretty nice food, I came here for my trip to Alaska the other week and I enjoyed the waitresses recommendation of the seasonal fish. The apps were really good too and nice decor. I only wished it didn't take so long to get seated. I called ahead of time for a reservation but we found ourselves waiting for another 30 mins past the time we were supposed to arrive. Then it took almost 45 mins before our apps were supposed to come out. Overall it took almost 3 hours before we got our check and left. Sad because food was good.

Eric Leonard

Awesome place to eat and also has cool gifts of Alaska.

Alex Tran

This place totally exceeded my expectations in terms of food. The menu items were very interesting and delicious. I ordered the jambalaya pasta which was made with fresh pasta from a local company. The fish and seafood was very fresh. One of our friends purchased the rotisserie chicken which waa very tender and flavored from a root beer reduction. The prices are quite fair for Anchorage. The service was a tad slow, but the server was very nice and checked back on us every now and then. I never got my refill of tea. I also wish the crab legs were not $69. I would have totally purchase them to try them.

Zhao Wendi

The crab leg is very good, but a bit pricy, $69. Environment is good, service is nice.

Boon Chuan

Glacier Brewhouse does not need further introduction when comes to dining in Anchorage, Alaska. This place is famous for its seafood and own brewed beer. I found the experience of having dinner in Glacier Brewhouse were good as solo. The service were fast although the restaurant was quite full at that time and the service by my server were good and they are friendly. I ordered two meal during the dinner: smoked salmon pesto with summer vegetables and half pound of Bering Sea King crab. Both of the meal were good and I satisfied with the meal. As for drink, I ordered raspberry wheat which is delicious and sweet. The smoked salmon pesto were great with tasty smoked salmon. The Bering Sea king crab with drawn butter and lemon is steamed just right and have good texture and flavour.

M Thomas

My family and I decided to reserve a table here for my birthday. We waited awhile for our food and when I received my salmon it was clearly over cooked, we waited again but after an hour and a half we were told to leave because they had reservations for our table! What business does that to paying patrons?! Our bill wasn’t cheap, this was unacceptable and devaluing to us as customers. I will never come back here.

Erik Vaska

5 stars for breakfast, 4 stars for dinner. Bloody bar was amazing for breakfast. Crab legs were a little overcooked for dinner.

Joshua Garvey

Mike the manager and Marina our server were amazing! Food was great!

Walbert Schulpen

Nice local brewhouse. I tried to order an outside brand but only own brew is sold. Food is good too.

Andrew da Silva

Hard to beat the smell and taste of a fire wood grill!

Jamie Gray

Is there a halibut and steak are amazing! This is a go-to place for me and my husband

Nyssa Jones

Went for Sunday brunch as I have many times before and went with the Traditional Eggs Benedict; I love a good Eggs Bene. The good: it looked really good, the hollandaise was on point, the Chipotle and Smoked Gouda Grits were excellent. The bad: one of my two eggs was undercooked, whites still clear, the food was never warm even served but I understand it can be hard to serve this dish "hot," there was way too much ham for the dish and it looked and tasted like store bought deli ham (water logged and all) and it wasn't even seared or tossed on the grill, and lastly, the English muffin was soggy, it looked like it might have had 3 seconds on a hot pan or in a toaster. It was totally disappointing and really, serving undercooked poached eggs is a health risk.

Alexander Medvedev

Amazing place to eat. Best selection of alcoholic beverages. Food always amazing and great service. Easily top 3 in Anchorage Alaska. 1 star short for Making reservations and being stuck sitting with those that walked in. All times we reserved always had half hour to hour wait for our "reserved" table.

Joshua Bolinger

Sat at the bar and had quick and friendly service during a busy time on a Tuesday evening. The Oktoberfest was really good, but the rib eye was amazing! Cooked perfectly and by far the best meal I've had in a week of exploring Anchorage's offerings. I'll come back soon.

Gretchen Christensen

The staff was friendly and attentive, I sat at the bar went on Sunday to have build your own bloody Mary was wonderful. Also had a cup of seafood chowder I suggest getting the bowl was amazing.

Garrett Petruzzi

Favorite spot in Anchorage. Never lets me down!

Joanna Secco

This was a great place. Food was terrific, great burger, and best chicken sandwich I have ever had. The vegetarian with us was happy with her choices, pizza and salad. Service was good, place was clean and decorated nicely.

Sarah Jeter

Travis was an awesome waiter, food was delicious. Got a New York sour by asking, omg that drink needs to come back. Above and beyond service!

Teerachote Homom

Beer is very good, but Alaska crab is not good.

Mr. J

Really bad service, why did we wait an hour after our reservation time to get bad over priced food? Must have been an off day as this place seems to be popular with tourists.

Shuying Lai

Great place, fast service, decent food. They have an open seating area but reservation is still recommended.

Howard Chen

Do not like the food, salty oily

Rachel Montgomery

Everything was delicious! I would highly recommend stopping here on your travels. We got the raspberry beer and it was light and refreshing, the type you could easily drink too fast if you aren't careful. We also ordered the chicken sandwich and the seafood Fettuccine, both surpassed our expectations. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant features a lot of wooden beams giving it a rustic ambiance.

Brent McKee

What an exceptional experience! My wife had the rockfish on risotto, their adaptation; and it was wonderful. I had the Brewhouse Dinner Burger. Both were over the top. The staff couldn't be more friendly, courteous and efficient. Full of energy and fun. The overall experience was terrific. I had their IPA, Blood Orange IPA and their coconut beer selection. Everything one of my selections were very enjoyable.

Leland Jones

This is THE place to go if you come to Anchorage. Been a handful of times and the service never lets me down. For the BEST experience, reserve your seats before hand otherwise you may have to wait a while. If you could walk right in from a reservation then they will not let you down! Great food, great atmosphere, and MAKE SURE you get the Penut Pie! 6 stars!

Erin Maines

Glacier Brewhouse has become a favorite of mine for drinks and dessert in downtown Anchorage. I'm a fan of their oatmeal stout, but they have plenty of cocktails and wines to suit every taste. Their desserts are large and rich, so I usually order one to share. Their peanut butter pie is amazing

Jennifer Hemphill

Pretzel appetizer with beer cheese was not very warm and the taste was off. My tomato soup was good and so was the blue cheese salad. My friends fish and chips were not good at all and the oil needed to be changed. More of a tourist trap than an Alaskan favorite. Most people like their beer, burger, and pizza.

richard pagliara

Out of tower review. Busy place. Came around 3pm, party of 4, no reservation , early August, weekday, had to wait 30 min. Service: friendly, but slow. Menu: adequate Food. Calamari, good. Kids burger huge portion and good. Fish tacos very good, not sure what fish. Fish and chips, great halibut. Beer, good local selection overall. Overall: Very good, nothing extraordinary.

Darren Ws

I can highly recommend the Glacier Brewhouse for both their craft beer and menu. The decor is nice and there is a good relaxed vibe. Sample the beers, there's sure to be one to your liking, if not two or three ; -) I had the All In fish'n'chips. The chowder was easily the best I've had in years, and the fish batter crisped to perfection. The prices were on-par for the quality of the food, so really good value IMO. We were served by Heather, she provided excellent friendly, cheerful and knowledgeable service.

matylda ja

Excellent seafood chowder but could have done with some bread on the side, burger was also excellent. Loved the great big fireplace and raspberry wheat bear was awesome with a good selection of beers. Friendly efficient service even at the busiest of times in a warm cosy setting

Doug Stucki

Always good, an Alaska favorite! Just walk by and catch a waft of the alder rotisserie and you'll get a glimpse of what's in store. Perfectly cooked steak with just the right amount of alder flavor makes for an amazing lunch!

B D

Nice atmosphere with Alaskan decoration. Love the big fireplace! There is normally a wait but it isn't bad. The staff is friendly and attentive. They have a variety of items on the menu. The seafood options are good however nothing outstanding. It is a solid place to take visitors. You will find a lot of tourists eating here during the summer.

Doug Morrison

Loved crab pesto dip, halibut, and ahi-tuna dishes

Kg 242

awesome food. Not a long wait Top 2 in Anchorage

Raja Zakeeyah

First, my waitress was awesome. I'd come back for Averie. I ordered half Crusted Halibut and Half Fresh Salmon. The other half was ordered by my coworker. We actually had a worm in our Halibut (BUT WE KNOW IT WAS FRESH

tbear44

We sat by the fireplace, very nice. Food and service were great.

Steve Conley

I ordered and enjoyed the Alaska Salmon BLT salad. Lots of fish and bacon mixed in, highly recommend.

Howitt's Done Outdoors

Our favorite restaurant in Anchorage. Superb service & food and we usually go with the daily special (fresh grilled halibut today). Their in house brew selection is second to none.

Rob Guerrera

Excellent as always. 17 years coming here and never ever disappointed me.

Alice Madruga

Excellent seafood and service. Desert also just great!

Vipul Singh

Party of 2 went for lunch on a Tuesday in August. Each of us had the grilled fresh sockeye salmon, and it was great!

wmgbutchy .

Really fresh fish. Great service. Great first night in Anchorage.

Michele Phillips

We always have great food here. Summer time it definitely gets busy, so check out the bar area for open seating. They also have brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Everything on the menu is awesome!!!

Marie Toothman

Great visit as always! Took a new friend here to show off this Anchorage MUST !!

Michael Jansen

I am writing this review not just because their food is excellent and the Brewhouse has a wonderful variety of their own beers, but also because we had an incident where the waiter overcharged our credit card for a bill that was split across a number of cards. Will, their manager refunded the amount without question within a day. Their customer service is top notch!

Andrew Scott

The salmon and halibut is in my opinion the best in town. The wait for seating can be up to 45 minutes during peak times, but they give you a buzzer, and during business hours there are gift shops to browse through that contain Alaskan rarities such as mammoth tusks, locally hand crafted specialties, Alaskan gold nuggets and Alaskan made jewlery. A bar with menued seating is available if you are alone or if your group is willing to sit with the crowd. Small plates are available as well as pizza and soup of the day. The kitchen is open so you can see your food being prepared. There's a fireplace centrally located, and a private room to the back for large gatherings or meetings.

Luke McCarthy Jones

We received very attentive yet unobstructive service. The selection of beer that was brewed in-house covered most types you could ever want and more, and those which I had or tasted from friend's drinks were truly excellent. Our food was wonderful. The portions were generous, but not so far as to encourage gluttony, and around my table there was plenty of colour in the food. The decor was very comfortable and tasteful. The only issue could be to say that it was somewhat loud.

Lizenne Medina

Sat by the bar (open seating) and no one acknowledged us for 10 mins. The table had no drink/food menus. We went there around 230pm on a Saturday. We finally had it, left, and walked to Humphy's instead. This was my first and my last visit. Nice restaurant inside, but service is a disappointment.

Denise Modglin

Love this place! Amazing atmosphere. The decor is rustic, but contemporary, and the staff make you feel like you are the only people in the place. Try the Razz! It is an experience worth having.

Priyanka R

Good food but kinda over priced- worth going atleast once just for the experience! **i saw a lot of comments raving about the calamari so I got them... the actual squid part was wonderfully cooked but the sauce/batter was alright. It would get a solid 4 out of 5 stars as well

Keith Rowley

Good food; but don’t come hungry during weekend brunch. It took at least 45 minutes to get our food. Also, like what they serve. They have a varied menu but don’t like to vary what’s on the menu. We came here because the wait at Snow City Cafe was 50-60 minutes. BIG mistake. We could have waited at Snow City, been seated, served, and eaten by the time we got our food (no wait for a table) at Glacier Brewhouse.

Craig G

had 2 meals there within 3 days. both were awesome experiences from food to service to ambience. don't miss this place if you are in anchorage

Charlie

Great beer. Great food. Salmon dip and A Hef after traveling 13 hours! Then halibut and cod entrees. All top drawer

Jennifer V

I don't eat steak very often. I just had the best steak I've ever had in my life here at Glacier Brewhouse. Awesome service, great atmosphere, strong margaritas (sorry I don't drink beer) can't wait to go back

Brianna Moxlow

Wonderful and beautiful restaurant. My family loves coming here and the service is amazing. Only downside is the high prices.

Heather Curtis

The best seafood chowder I have ever had!

Mark Kirven

Pretty good, it took almost an hour for the fire to come out.

Frankie Baker

I've been to Glacier Brewhouse every time I've visited Alaska (we're up to 5 times now!) and it's one of my favorite restaurants. I love the gluten-free friendly menu and the atmosphere. I've also had great service. It gets packed pretty quickly, so I would suggest calling ahead to get a reservation. There's generally room over in the bar area so not having a reservation isn't the end of the world.

Therese Martin

Have loved this place so much we came back again. Definitely not the cheapest venue however we thought true value for money. The food is fresh and excellent. The service is awesome.....Thanks Amy and Sam. Suggest let the waiters tell you what to try if you are unsure....They did for us both times and we loved our meal. We are from Australia and love our seafood but cannot fault the freshness and tastiness of the seafood from Alaska. Our recommendation would be try the garlic prawns.

Good quality food. Their desserts are as good if even better

Scott Tousignaut

what a wonderful place great food, great drink and nice people

Roberta Robbins

Delicious! I loved the escargot. Rare to find it so I was happy to have it. Steaks were superbly cooked. When in Anchorage, I most certainly be back again!

Kris Tsai

Fisrt time in Anchorage, and thank god we stepped into this restaurant. Recommend for everyone who wants to have a decent meal here.

Chris Huchel

You know, they screwed up my order, but when they saw it was screwed up, they remade it for me! Great service, cool atmosphere, and a good price.

Nelson Williamson

The staff were very prompt and polite. Felt like I had come here often although it was our first time. The food was fantastic, by far 5 stars on up! Also these guys helped me impress my wife by getting us seats at the fireplace. If I could give more stars I would. Hats off guys.

Just stopped in for lunch, but the warm and friendly staff made for a great dining experience. Their Marzen beer is light and refreshing and the salmon is flavored on point!

Justin Wong

The food here was amazing. The prices are expected to be what they are but worth every dollar. Tried the King Salmon special, fish and chips, and a steak. all really well prepared and served. We walked in as a party of 13 not expecting to be seated together. we were fine with that. but they gathered a village to move tables and chairs for us. Great service and super nice employees. I would definitely go again.

Outrageously expensive for quality of food. Bread was cold. Nachos did not have nearly enough toppings. Ribs were good, however the sauce was way to thick/pasty. My wife ordered the seafood fettuccine in which the pasta was lukewarm at best and the sauce congealed. I’m also extremely turned off when a seafood dish utilizes the tiny bay shrimp. This is the second time in a row we’ve gone and have been extremely dissappointed. Won’t be going back, and strongly recommend you to not waste your time or money

Great calamars ! Good beer

Cash Money Jambro

Enjoyed dinner next to the fire. Great food, atmosphere and Brooke is an outstanding server!

Alex Rodriguez

I was here for lunch with some friends and family. I had the house brew Blonde Supreme with and alcohol % of 9 it was smooth and was very refreshing. I had the Salmon BLT for my choice for lunch it was also very delicious. The ambiance was very rustic with a large fireplace in the center of the restaurant and an open kitchen.

Rick Nobers

This is my favorite restaurant in Anchorage. Great location. Busy but good service. Like the decor. My waitress recommended the seafood chowder and Rockfish plate. Both excellent and worth a go.

Gina Pernacciaro

This place was recommended by the Marriot Hotel and did not disappoint! Apparently it's usually pretty crowded so reservations are a good idea. The staff was friendly and most of the food was incredible. GET THE CALAMARI! Biggest chucks of calamari I've ever had and the light breading with the jalapeno sauce makes for a great appetizer. The seafood nachos and chowder soup were also fantastic. Gets a little crowded inside but nice decor and fun place. Missing one star because our group ordered appetizers, dinner, and dessert. The spacing of the food delivery was terrible. All entrees in our group were salads so nothing hot to work with but still received food with very large portions of time in between. Could have been planned better, but when a restaurant is that busy it's understandable sometimes. Would absolutely recommend!

Malinda Patterson

This place is fantastic! Our beer was delicious and the halibut that I ordered was incredible. The service was also very good. Only positive things to say about our experience here! I highly recommend it.

Bob Chan

A very cozy restaurant in the heart of downtown. Service and was relatively quick and good. The food was also very delicious

Bill L

Applebees quality, triple the price. A lot of money for a mediocre dinner.

I went to GB three times during my one week stay at Anchorage. The seafood here is so fresh and tasty. I’m not a beer person but kept ordering beer every time I came! King crabs, salmon and seafood crowder are a must to try. I tried same thing at other places but GB cook them better. My husband ordered pasta but don’t recommend.

David Kaufman

It’s the best restaurant in Anchorage. We have been eating there fo 20 years. However, they always had Halibut bits as appetizers on the menu. When the price rose, they switched to cod. Then rather than raise the price, it disappeared. Also, they gave you great rye bread and olive oil. No more. Why not raise prices and maintain the breath of a great menu??? David Kaufman

Came here for an early anniversary dinner, and we were very impressed with the quality of both the food and the service. Absolutely would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Walt Willard

Our group of six had an excellent meal of halibut, rockfish and shrimp and grits. Seafood chowder and Blue salads were equally wonderful and reasonably priced. We visited in a Friday night in August the restaurant was popping with people so the noise level was high but conversation was still good. Service was spot on and our server Autumn made sure we had an excellent experience.

Di Hu

The foods were somewhat overpriced and wait time was extremely long - more than 1 hour. The king crab legs were served just warm, which were expected to be hot if they were freshly steamed. It wasn't a good experience for us.

F Stein

Pizza was barely warm by the time I got it. However, excellent taste and dessert was absolutely delicious!

Rakesh .Vallabhaneni

The food was awesome and taste good. All the ingredients are local and fresh seafood and catch of the season fish. I would definitely recommend this place if you are new in town or visiting Anchorage.

I travel all over North America, and this is one of my favorite brewery/restaurants. Killer music playing overhead while I dined on local sockeye salmon with Wild Turkey barrel-aged Oatmeal Stout. This place uses local food and beers to cater to residents and tourists alike. Sit at the bar and get recommendations from Courtney! Make sure you tell her I sent you...

Michael Musgrove

Great service, great food!

Donald Gerhart

The Brewhouse was good, but I expected better. The steak was fatty and not exceptionally flavorful. The wait staff were attentive as well as beautiful. However, the service out of the kitchen was poor. It was obvious that the manager was trying to get things moving, but not succeeding.

Sam Newton

I enjoyed this place. It had a nice, rustic vibe. Everything I had—blue cheese salad, halibut, and no flour chocolate cake—was delicious. Prompt and friendly service. Highly recommend.

Wendy Goodrich

Good food nice atmosphere, but not much on the menu I think I would only try maybe 1more item on there if I went again. Drinks are very small and kind of expensive for what you do get.

Jeff Jones

The dining area is huge. I went to dinner around six in the evening, on a high school prom night that I wasn't aware of, and was told that there would be around a 45 minute wait. I was seated in less than 15. I ordered the blackened halibut with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. The food was deliscious though the portions were rather small. Not so with the dessert. I had their famous bread pudding and it was really good. Prices range from around $12-$40. I had an ice tea with my meal and it came to a little over $50. All in all, a very nice dining experience and I would definitely go there again.

Ryan Grzes

Great location and Great food / beer. I had an alder wood smoked prime rib and paired it with some barrel aged stout beers. Both were excellent! Prime Rib was perfectly cooked and the beers were aged nicely!

Michael Lui

Solid smoked salmon sandwich

Marvin Stephen

The Seafood Crostini was on point very delicious and Alaskan stuff with cod was mouth watering. Will be back.

charles black

Good service, good atmosphere despite being quite busy. Wife's pizza was OK, 3 out of 5. My fish and chips were terrific. Beer selection ok but nothing to write home about.

Ron Jensen

Very Alaskan themed. Nice atmosphere and fireplace. Alder wood cooked steaks and seafood with wood cooked vegetables and sides. Lots of in house crafted brews. Try the sample tray.

Eduard Onecic

A wonderful restaurant. Great beer selection and the food is superb...especially the rock fish dish...it rocks!

Xu Maggie

Great experience at brew house. Terrific food and drink with nice dining space make me feel good.

Amber Kopp

My favorite restaurant in Anchorage! The ale fondue is a must appetizer. Jambalaya fettucine is spicy, but oh so good. The burger is delicious (also, the veggie patty version of the burger is the best veggie burger I've had). The pizzas are yummy. You really can't miss here. Try the peanut butter pie for dessert. And take a growler home with you!

Graeme Williams

The food was very tasty and a good value, except that both the pizza crust and pizza toppings we're under-salted. The beer fight was a great value at 5 5oz beers for $8, but not all the beers we're equally good. I was disappointed by the stout, the amber and black IPA were respectable, the cask ale was very good, and the eisbock that had been aged in whisky barrels for more than two years was a wonderful revelation.

Manasi Suryavanshi

I would highly recommend the Hunters Skillet brunch platter. Cozy ambiance and good service.

Mariam Melkumyan

Great service, tasty food, amazing stout!

Peter Odonnell

Finally food that makes the cruise ship pale in comparison. The crab legs are a yard long. The beer is supreme. White shrimp and grits are divine.

James Davis

One of the best meals I have ever had. Alaskan salmon is truly amazing. Staff were great too! If you want a great Alaskan fish meal - this is a great place to check out!

Dewey Rivers

Recently visited Anchorage on vacation and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Glacier Brewhouse. In fact, we enjoyed it so much, we ate their again for lunch a couple days later. From the large fireplace which served as the centerpiece of the restaurant to the wood tones to the energy in the air, the atmosphere was amazing. A bit on the noisier side but, it was tolerable. We were served by two different individuals and each provided great service which, to me, spoke of a consistent culture of excellence. The execution of the food was nothing less than fantastic. From the burger to the pan-seared tuna, each dish was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. This was our overall favorite restaurant during our vacation to Anchorage.

Louise Erba

It was awesome! Great food, service and atmosphere

Monica Puerto

The beers are a 5 out of a 5, we came back again just for the beers. The food was good but the beers are the clear stars. Service was excellent and the ambiance was very nice.

Adam Lewis

Great atmosphere with tasty food and good beer. Right in the middle of downtown Anchorage, so quite convenient. Not your typical brewhouse. It is a bit pricey, but a fun place to go.

Rita L

This place is just ok, not that great... but there's also not that many options around :( it's usually packed and they're pretty busy, so expect a little wait time for the food. Otherwise friendly staff and probably a popular spot in town.

Peter M

This is my go to place whenever there is a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary. The food is excellent. Make a reservation, or you will have to wait a bit. Use Open Table or whatever app you wish. Vegetables are fresh and well presented as are the meats. Never ever had a bad steak here or any seafood. Try the pound and a half of King Crab, Blackened Salmon, Steak or the Ahi Tuna. Deserts the Burnt Creme and Bread Pudding with rum dressing cannot be beat. Good Craft Beers and Fountain Drinks

chris seate

Can't wait to get back!!!! Phenomenal service. Michael was/is what you want and expect from a waiter.

Debbie Sanchez

Tourist trap, catering to tour buses. Salmon and halibut came swimming in oil, and not fresh tasting.
