Girdwood is a small town but with awesome eateries. The picnic club is certainly in the top 5 places to eat when in Girdwood. If you are looking for early morning coffee and a hearty breakfast, go straight off to this place without thinking too much or looking for other options. Good food, good coffee, good ambience and good service. No hassle morning option.

Not to miss out visiting Girdwood. The Picnic Club is run by a Groupe of Ladies. You sit around the cooking area and can exactly see all the frech products being used for breakfast or Lunch. Only fresh products, nothing re-heated. The waitresses are very efficient and welcoming. Food is delicious Definitely a place I will be coming back.

Omg, best breakfast burrito... and I live in California. They make the outside crispy so it isn't a soggy situation. You will need extra salsa. Also, the fireman eggs (something like this) is super good with a very uniquel sauce- not too hot if you're sensitive to spice. Perfectly done coffee and super cute setting overall- each table has animal salt and pepper shakers making for a kitschy and fun mood. ...could have been warmer in there but other than that, would for sure make it a local spot if I lived in Alaska.

Nice people table was dirty when we were seated, overpriced for the quality. $4 for 2 small pieces of bacon. The breakfast burrito was bland. Biscuits and gravy were as well. Kids eggs came with sharp cheddar on them. They didn't like it. Won't be back

Nice creative menu prepared well. Somewhat limited but changed up often. VERY laid-back service. Mosey on in, find yourself a seat and someone will come around. I had the Curried Chicken Stew (Think Indian biscuits and gravy), Mrs. Burman had the French Onion Dip sandwich with potato lentil soup. Mrs. B is a French Dip aficionado and reports that it was a nice sandwich and left it at that. The soup however, was a big hit! Somebody put a lot of thought and effort into perfecting this bowl of happiness. I would love to be able to re-create it in my kitchen. The curried chicken had a very nice mild flavor with a very slow heat that just kind of snuck up and whispered to my tongue that it was there. I would definitely order that dish again after I’ve tried everything else on the menu. Our server told us that they change their menu every three months. I figure going there once a quarter will give us a chance to try a bunch of different things. It’s a beautiful drive to Girdwood will make it worthwhile.

We just discovered this place is really nice and the food is ok it looks like they buy everything at Costco and put it together at the bistro not worth the money but the inventory on restarount in girdwood is limited so I would recommend this place for a quick bite, the staff is really nice.

This place is not to be missed, if your in the area for breakfast. Ecclectic and fun original paintings on the wall. Locals mostly sit at the counter to catch up on the days goings on. The food was fresh and plenty of it. Don't miss the bathroom... With more paintings and if you're so inclined, make a donation in that bathroom box for the local women's shelter.

The outside looks rough and they have this weird enter from the back sign. The interior is better but still feels in need of a loving makeover - menus were really aged and wrinkled, tons of wasted space and tabletops were sticky. There were two items sold out on a pretty average day, which is hard to fathom when the menu isn’t that complex. The food however was above average for such a small town.

The building was cute, cozy, and clean. This is the best lunch spot in Girdwood, hands down.

The building was cute, cozy, and clean. This is the best lunch spot in Girdwood, hands down.

It is a very kid friendly restaurant. They even had free diaper in their washroom. Their food was good with a reasonable price. Definitely will go there again next time I am in Alaska.

Really cute restaurant with friendly service. The French Dip was amazing! It was the best French Dip we had ever had. The lemon Caesar salad was great too. We had a change of plans and had to take our food to go and the staff was more than accommodating. We highly recommend the Picnic Club!

Cute friendly mom & pop diner/restaurant/cafe/food place. My quesadilla was tasty and nicely sophisticated with onions and tomatoes, and the pita bread sandwich was nice and juicy. We are glad we stopped here after going on a hike!
