Food was Okay, atmosphere was okay. I guess I just expected more for the price?
Amazing food. Smelled so good that I forgot to take pics of most of our dishes lol. Great attentive servers. We didn't have a reservation so they seated us in the lounge which was comfortable. We had the scallop mac and cheese, duck and ahi stack which were all good and cooked to perfection. The cocktails were well made, with a good amount of alchohol but a tiny bit slow coming out. The chocolate bacon bomb was the perfect end to our meal. Delicious and decadent. Also flower less so great for anyone looking for gluten free dessert.
Strawberry cosmopolitan. My wife and I shared one but you might as well get one yourself. Over the top good. Tower of Tuna and Bean Cheese and Chips. Everything was better than I could ever explain. Waitress was beyond cute and adorable and very efficient. Told us she only works there when they need her.
We loved the Mac & cheese with Klondike scallops (pictured). Perfectly cooked fresh halibut. All good things. This is our favorite downtown Anchorage restaurant and we hope to return someday. Highly recommended!
Ginger is a great place for fusion foods. The place is clean, classy and the staff are wonderful and well dressed.
The host was antisocial and spacey. Mother has a disability to which she cannot speak very well, server had disrespectfully claimed to not be able to hear her twice during the evening when standing all the way across the table. Food was decent but over priced. Wouldn’t come here again at the risk of getting the same server.
Great place! Great menu! Wonderful drinks.
If you need an Asian fusion break, this place will do the trick. Folks there are super friendly, and the atmosphere is fine-dining that accepts backpacks; so its comfortable for all. The ahi tuna tower is their promoted appetizer and it's worth it. It's a version of poke with a nice glaze. The egg rolls are definitely made in house, not frozen, and are meatier than average. The shrimp noodle soup is fine. The bbq ribs with kimchi are really good and a standout in Anchorage. This made me want to try to make it at home. Overall this is a good alternative to the salmon/halibut routine and above average for Anchorage.
Wow Ginger restaurant is a great place to have birthday's and fun to try new food's in Anchorage,Alaska ; downtown area the staff is easy to understand what you like and ask if your having a good meal.
This place is to die for!! Excellent ambience and service, great vegan options (try the mango teriyaki tofu), and amazing drinks. Thank you!!!!
My ahu tacos where delicious. Female waitress at bar was a bit rude and very very slow with everything
Presentation is 9/10th of the dining experience AND the food was good so 10/10. Ginger is a nice low light, high quality joint. It's not the best meal I ever at but enjoyed the entire experience. Great bar for solo diners as well
Very good food, nice atmosphere. Great for a date
Food is fresh and delicious.
Expensive but food was on the good side.
Great food but menu needs an update.
Super friendly staff. Seafood was all great and green tea creme brûlée was a surprise standout.
Better than the alternatives
Excellent! Loved the risotto balls and ginger pear cheesecake.
Would recommend to a friend. Will come back to this place again.
Great service and food.
High quality food, great tasting classy drinks, and quality customer service. It is downtown so you will need to find an area to park and then walk over. Definitely doesnt deter me from there though!
Great place for happy hour!
The service is slow. The noodles were undercooked and really hard to chew. It's quite disappointing to be served such food after 40 min of waiting.
Great service, but the food was only ok.
Food and drinks were outstanding. A great place to discover. Joey as your makes it a perfect spot for dinner.
Warm and friendly service by Gina. We had an all-vegetarian table, and she helped us find the right food, and also recommended a few variations which weren't on the menu. The Alaskan tofu with quinoa was the highlight of the meal.
Best, most stylish restaurant in town. Outstanding food and excellent service.
The lunch here was really good. Our server was very helpful. I loved the mushu tacos!
Ok atmosphere, food was good.
This place rocks! Best service, fantastic staff, excellent food. Highly recommend
Pretty good diverse selection. Not quite fully pan Asian but it'll work.
Amazing little place, enjoyed a nice Strawberry cucumber Margarita on the rocks. Was refreshing and tasty!
Very creative food.
Great food friendly staff!

No. Just no. $$$$

The food here was great
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was wonderfully presented and delicious.
My friend and I love discovering new places especially when we travel. I found this online before we went to Rome and booked for dinner. We ended up having breakfast twice and lunch twice.. If you love your açai bowls or your smoothies in the morning, this is perfect, if you love pancakes, then this is for you too, of course the menu has more to offer. Here’s just a selection of what we tried. Everyone needs to try this place. Delicious
The menu was very limited. Most dishes are seafood and very small portions.
Wonderful food!
It’s not often I find a place that can cook a filet mignon as good as I can. How ever this is one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
The wait staff was very helpful about my chili allergy, however there were only about three items on the entire menu that are able to be served without.
Love, love love this place. Every time we visit Anchorage this restaurant is a must! The food is fresh, tasty and presentation artful. Caesar salad had an asian twist and the beef curry was pleasingly spicy but not over done.
Came in a bit under dressed and they made me feel like it. Food was overpriced and not that great. I can think of half a dozen places in walking distance that are MUCH better.
Had the Chipotle seasoned filet. Excellent flavor, not spicy, semi sweet. So often I am disappointed when I order steak out, but this is the 3rd time I have been here with different preparations and feel like it was money well spent.
Good place for a quick drink.
Love ginger!! My favorite spot, always amazing
Great service, vegan curry was amazing, Alicia makes an awesome old-fashioned!
This place has nice ambience with friendly and at the same time, professional staff. Combined with the food menu and drink choices, creates an excellent dining experience. A ten day stay in Anchorage provide the opportunity to visit different restaurants and hardly did I visit the same place twice. Ginger was the exception. If you ever get a chance to visit and you get to experience delightful service from Gina or Jared, you will want to return for a second experience.
Great spot. Was our first stop for dinner and may of been our best.
We went around 10:17(they stop serving food at 10) but our waitress was simply amazing(and because we wanted a basic dish) the kitchen staff cooked our desired dinner. We ordered the Mac and cheese with scallops. It comes in a huge bowl which is pretty cool looking. The meal tasted very nice but it was about 30/32.00....we tried their plume wine, I'm not a wine drinker but, it was elegant, very sweet. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice.
My family and I had very nice time there. Of course it is expensive place, and it is downtown, so can't be cheaper. Food was very delicious. The waitress seems wasn't smiley that much. But overall we had very nice time.
Really great service and they can make a lot of things vegan. You can also order from the bar menu if you ask. Their menu is eclectic. Not too loud and a somewhat fancy atmosphere, this is one of my favorite places.
the only reason i didnt give five stars was for a limited menu. the food was awesome, being there was limited choices. get here early, bar side fills up quickly.
Vegan friendly! Definitely expect to spend some good money here, but it's definitely worth it. It's sooo good, the service is great and definitely felt safe being openly gay!
My wife and I tried Ginger out for the first time. We were shocked with how great it was. The food was fresh, and very pleasing to the eye, while the flavors danced on our taste buds. Highly recommended for any big occasion.
Stopped in for coffee, tea, and some drinks and had a spectacular experience. The bartender helping us did a spectacular job, offering many suggestions and small samples. We learned a lot. Even the tea and coffee was well made, and these guys certainly know their drinks.
One of my favorite restaurants in Anchorage. They have two areas one just for dining and another one for a bar and small bites, but of course if the dining area is busy you can always dine in the bar area. Very delicious food, amazing desserts, and great selection of craft cocktails, or wine and beer. Located in the heart of Downtown Anchorage on 5th Avenue.
Varied menu, great food and service.
The people here are AWESOME! Always offer great food!
Never a disappointment, my favorite restaurant in Anchorage.
Awesome environment and great selection of cocktails
Great service and amazing food !! Definitely going back to this restaurant
Ginger is just OK, bar food was not all that, and bland, dry. Can't tell you about their dinner menu, but if you can't get the bar menu right I am guessing you can't do any right.
A bit on the pricier end. But good food and very nice atmosphere... I'd say date worthy!
This is one of my musy visits when icomI to Anchorage. I love the mie krob. I found myself to be full after every meal so unless you are having appetizers. I would not consider it small plates.
Amazing food! We had the Alaskan special (Grilled Salmon), Oyster shooter and Vegetarian Curry (Tofu). The staff was also good. A must try in downtown Anchorage!
Delicious food, excellent service! Both the waitress and the chef actually /understood/ what vegan means (it's so common for restaurant staff to have no idea what vegan means and it makes things difficult). If the waitress didn't know if a menu item had animal products in it, she had no problem asking the chef. And most things were easily tweaked to be made vegan which was wonderful. Only complaint is that it's a bit pricey.
One of my favorite small downtown restaurants. Great lunch and dinner. Unique and flavorful dishes. Great service and atmosphere. Parking can be tricky during busy times.
Yummy thai dishes; very flavorful.
Great service and delicious brunch. I also highly recommend any of their soups.
Love ginger. Another great spot in Anchorage with Vegan/Vegeterian options.
They have very nice bartenders!
I'm not sure what was less impressive, the food, or the service?
Good food but pricey
Fresh Asian Alaskan fusion done right with curries and seafood. Yummy! One of anchorage few upscaled type places.
One of the best places to eat downtown. Great mac n cheese!!!

Terrific dinner. Excellent service and Duck confit was perfect
The wait staff was very helpful about my chili allergy, however there were only about three items on the entire menu that are able to be served without.

One of the best places to eat downtown. Great mac n cheese!!!
Good food. Nice enough staff.
The bartenders here make some rad drinks for sure! I’m not a mixed drink kind of person but that’s all I order at this restaurant. They put on a show and give you some attitude....in a good way! The beef curry is the best I’ve ever had.....Great restaurant!
Always like the food here.
Menu is full of options for all tastes. Vegan to carnivore. All are full of flavor and delicious. Great wine, beer and cocktail menu as well. Staff is warm and welcoming. Always attentive.
Waaaayyyyy better than Arby's
I just dont think the food is that good. Atmosphere, drinks and appetizers are good.
Great food, great service, sooooo tasty! Vegan options!
Slow service, indifferent and borderline surly bartender. Soba noodles were dry, sliders were just bad. Two stars for the strong cocktails.
Great atmosphere, prices are a bit high, food was outstanding.
Truly excellent food, but maybe not for those who prefer subtle/subdued flavors. All of our food was very tasty, and they aren't afraid to get spicy. We had two different soups both of which were among the best we've had and quite creative. I doubt we'll ever be back in Anchorage, but we would eat here again for sure if we are.
Tuna tower and Thai chicken wraps are bomb. Love the basil strawberry Cosmo. Wings are meh, but the whole place is awesome.
Great establishment with cool servers dressed in Star Wars uniforms talking primarily irish accents. But the coolest point of this restaurant is the $5 dollar bill in the top part of the middle hole right at the outside entrance! Take a picture and add on once found!
Went there originally because my nickname is "Ginger" but experienced a beautiful place and great food!
Amazing place to stop in for dinner; however, I stopped by for lunch and the bar menu is limited. The Spanish coffee and appetizers were tasty and the environment is and has been an up scale taste in the rustic last frontier.
Delicious food and atmosphere. Budget wise on the upper end. Totally worth it.
Amazing. Very high quality food. You get what you pay for. More than I'm used to, but my friends all wanted to go. The waitress was excellent, very accommodating, knew her drinks and her food. It's expensive, but it's not overly formal. There was a birthday behind us and a small baby. But they didn't detract from the great experience.
Had a romantic dinner with my husband here for my birthday. Beautiful restaurant, wonderful staff, delicious food and drinks. Waitress (can’t recall her name, I think it was Jeannine) was knowledgeable, funny, and personal. My husband had the special, it was halibut, which was tasty but very small portioning. My plate had large portions so I guess it depends on what you order. Overall the experience was great!
Very good food!
Great customer service, good food and good drinks!!
We went there in a group of 7 for a birthday party. The food and drinks were good and reasonably priced. The service was good.
The burger was great!
Food has always been great, haven't found anything I didn't like so far. Steak bites are my favourite. Top notch cocktails! It's so difficult to find a place that does actual cocktails, my experience has been that most places just throw alcohol and a mixer in a cup, but Ginger does cocktails right! The flavour and alcohol strength are always in balance.
Great service and good food too. Love the downtown location.
Attentive quick for our party of ten the food was dynomite
Yummy food! Really great vegan options in addition to meat courses. I had a tofu and quinoa salad that was amazing. Food so good that my friends and I went back there the next night for dinner, again!
Efficient food, fresh and yummy, vegetarian friendly
Very good fine dining. A bit pricey. The Ahi dinner was not the best ive ever had...
Very clean Great food
Great food! Better appies
never had great service like this
Easily one of the best lunch spots in the downtown area. A relaxing atmosphere, great service and excellent food. Their dinner is also great and I would recommend getting a cocktail while you're there as well. If you can't decide, just ask the bartender. They're very knowledgeable and can make something based on your particular tastes.
I went to Ginger yesterday and it was my first time and let me say that I'm highly expressed of the food quality and excellent service!! The food is freaking outstanding and there drinks are superb!
Great food and outstanding service.
Unbelievable cuisine and fantastic service!
The scallops were the best
Drinks are great could have more options for people who don’t eat meat.
Try the Ginger Mojito!
We reserved the banquet room for our wedding rehearsal dinner. It was amazing from the service to the food!!
This was a great evening. Many food choices, but the smoked guyere carrot risotto forced me to go with the ribeye. I was overjoyed with the risotto, and the asparagus and ribeye were top shelf. We'll definitely come back here.
Good food. Nice enough staff.

Fun bar with interesting people and great bartenders. Drinks are creative and wine, whiskey and beer choices are extensive. Food is more small plate than comfort food. Would definitely come here again.
Meh... wont go back.
This place has a pleasant, sophisticated atmosphere. Great food (their tuna tower is amazing), fun drinks, fabulous wine, and pleasant presentation. A little pricey but a great place for a date night or nice occasion! Reserve a head of time if you can!
One of the best restaurants in downtown Anchorage. Def worth a try ☺️
Came for dinner tonight, all was good, till someone at the table, got a plastic piece in there Curry. We where told be the staff it was an onion skin. The manger did not see the foreign object that was in my food. But did trust what I said and took the dish off my bill. Thank you for that. He did not seem very sincere in his apology.
Me and my husband live in Nome AK. We came up for a weekend trip and decided on place where we both haven't eaten at. We were not disappointed. We got the special of the day (halibet in curry sauce with jasime rice and aspagas and shittake mushrooms). The portions were just right. Most restaurants tend to give you more then you need to eat. I appreciated the portions. My mouth is watering just thinking about the food. The price was high, but matches the quality of the food. Which was amazing and presented beautifully. The atmosphere was very chill and relaxed. The service was good and tended to us as expected. We're definitely going eat here again, the next time we're in anchorage.
A nice place to have dinner downtown Anchorage, good service Great food!
One of my favorite restaurants in the world. Everything on the menu is delicious.
Excellent food, had the Strawberry Chile salad, it was So good. Highly recommended.
The food was average, and it was very pricey.
I like this place. The food and service is very good. The atmosphere appealing. I love the bar and they serve a wide variety of unique drinks. I have had some delicious meals here. Quin is an awesome bartender. Highly recommended!
Yummy
Great food, better drinks!
Great place downtown for a afternoon break
Asian fusion restaurant with a creative menu and upscale atmosphere. Excellent food and service.
Fantastic food and legit bar with real bartender.
Service is great. Food is great. They let me bring my service dog. Winning!!!
Kevin was so excellent and made my girls night out a five star event. He was super attentive and everything from the drinks and appetizers to the customer experience was superb.
Always great mohitos!
Great food and service
I had the lettuce hand wraps, fresh spring rolls, mango teriyaki Alaskan tofu, and Alaska Fireweed honey ice cream. My friend had the cod with grits and green tea creme brulee. Everything was wonderful and the service was excellent. Ginger is always good!
Service was excellent but the food was mediocre.
Love grabbing a cocktail and an amazing bowl of lemongrass soup here.
The food and atmosphere are top notch. Be sure to try the Ahi Tuna and watercress....your welcome. Quinlan is an amazing bartender. I really enjoyed my experience at this Pan Asian gem in the heart of downtown Anchorage.
The food was a bit overpriced and the curry was lackluster. The egg rolls were pretty good and fairly portioned. My partner's scallop mac and cheese was decent, but not $32 worth. The service was good. Food presentation was very nice.
Absolutely recommend it! Great ambiance, nice waiter. Good food! Delicious dessert!
Good food and customer service. Wish they still had my favorite dish!
A little overpriced. The waiter kept giving me a weird look. Most of the bar food is small portions. The wings are the best choice.
My train from Seward arrived later than scheduled and my flight got delayed. While trying to sort this mess was looking for a place to eat since it was almost 11:00PM all shops were closed. I'm a vegetarian, though the kitchen was closed, the staff was very accommodating and prepared their chicken noodle with tofu instead. And the food was really good too! I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Quite pricey so don't go there if you're on a budget. I ordered appetizers which were more than filling. The ahi tuna tower was superb along with their sweet potato fries which are massive. The customer service on the other hand was severely lacking. The waiters and bussers all seemed depressed. The young black man we spoke with very shortly appeared and spoke as if he absolutely didn't want to be there and couldn't be bothered. The waiter also seemed very lack luster. The overall feel of the environment didn't match the pricing and quality of the food. I'd say the food was delicious but I won't be back solely because of the poor customer service.
Very professional very clean very friendly very friendly loved it
Delightful restaurant, quiet atmosphere just a few blocks from the larger bustling restaurants. Food is priced right for the region.
The Alaskan tofu quinoa
the service and drinks were exceptional. but I didnt really like what I ordered. next time I'll get something else. but the dragon drink is amazing!!!
For a pricey place, I expected more. Their food was okay, nothing special. Their ginger & pear cheesecake was disgusting as it was more savory than sweet. I had to throw it away.
One of my favorite spots in Anchorage for a nice dinner date out or cocktails with the girls. They offer both a bar lounge and a dining room area, as well as a section for large groups. Their food combines traditional Alaskan dishes with Asian flavors. They have amazing vegetarian food and tasty flavors. The service is always great. Don't forget to try the fireweed ice cream!
Must try and amazing flavors
Very interesting menu , the staff is very friendly . A great selection of alcohol . The Mac and cheese with scallops caught my attention , something I would never order out . It was incredible
Some of the best bar food ive ever had
Four of us certainly enjoyed our appetizers and entrees that were tasty and beautifully presented. However, the service was not of the same caliber. We waited a long time for our drinks and had to ask a second time for both a glass of ice and then a spoon to serve it with. The busboy took an appetizer plate off the table even while my wife was trying to serve the last portion onto her plate. Very strange and made us feel rushed. Two entrees arrived and two came significantly later. After being offered chop sticks they never came nor did the spoon for the ice. Too many different people coming too frequently for all the wrong reasons. Someone poured water into the ice glass defeating the purpose of adding it to the drink. Our entree plates were also taken before we were comfortably done. Delivery was late and removal was early. We would return for the wonderful food but the experience was strange and seriously lacking in service and cohesion. Hoping we had several trainees who failed miserably at trying to be attentive. Food rates 5, service 1.
Lame. A place has to be pretty special for me to go downtown, especially during tourist season. Ginger was not special. We waited over an hour for our mediocre food. The ladies room had no toilet paper and no soap. Our waitress kept telling us our food was coming, then apologizing that it wasn't there. Basically, we sat there, unable to eat, poop, or wash, while our parking expired. I didn't hate it, but I'm not planning a return trip either. On the plus side, they offer a tasty spiced ginger and orange beer, Crabbie's. It helped make the wait for food more tolerable. But I'll look for that elsewhere.
Food was too notch and excellent service
Winning!!!
This was my first time at Ginger and it was AMAZING!!! I loved the food and the very helpful staff and the cozy atmosphere of the whole restaurant. We will definitely be going back again!
Always great mohitos!
