Best fish and chips in Anchorage
Love this place. Trendy, cozy, great vibe. Seating is first come, first serve and you seat yourself. Food is delicious and made to order right at the bar. So plan to wait a bit and keep your eyes peeled for seats. Definitely would visit again.
Good food, very busy
Great food reasonably priced, great service. Get there early as it has limited seating
This lady is off her rocker and I love her. She made us feel like we were in her home kitchen!
I was told the best halibut in town, Not!
Good place to visit, eat and drink, but I don’t like the smell of the place .
Great little place. Never been dissatisfied!! The French onion soup is the best!!! Friendly atmosphere! We prefer to sit at the chef's bar and interact with them! Blackened shrimp caesar salad and shrimp pasta.
The bartender at F Street lost my credit card. She told me they would "definitely find it," and to come back later. When I returned a couple hours later they were weirdly hostile and yelled at me that "they'd had a busy night" so it wasn't their problem. Well... cool. Sorry? Spending half an hour on the phone with my bank at the end of the night was a pretty lousy nightcap. Then again, their French onion soup is pretty good. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
First-come-fist-served seatting so it can take a while to get a seat when they're busy (plus there is not much standing room). However, the food is really good! I've only tried a couple things off the menu: the halibut sandwich, and the fish and chips. Both are delicious, but I would recommend the halibut sandwich if I had to pick one.
Great food, great service!
This was a great surprise on our visit to Anchorage. It starts, with a big block of cheese at the bar, where you use a cheese knife to cut a chunk. The food was wonderful - cooked out front where you can see it. The portions are large and the food was delicious. The only negative is that there is not much space and it's a free for all when a table opens because they don't take names. Place has a great vibe, plus good Alaska beers on tap.
I used to balk at going here. It seemed to be the place "everybody" suggested. However I've always had great meals here. People continue to go here for a reason. This time I had the fresh Mahi Mahi since Halibut is out of season. It was done perfectly. I love sitting at the grill and chatting with the cooks. Plus you can watch how well they cook and you get your food right away. Everett and Smitty and I talked quite a bit about '70s music. It made the evening even better.
The best French onion soup in town that I've had. They also have the best calamari sauce. The calamari isn't my favorite since I the rings and not steak slices, still good though. They have tons bbn of other good items. Sitting at the food bar is always a fun time as well. Dinner and a show
We had ried halibut chunks and fries. It was good. We get some whenever we are in Alaska.
Fine alaskan amber, good service
Been going to this bar for awhile its pretty much a stop over for pilots and locals. The food is pretty tasty. Good selection on beers and whiskey. Hard to find seating most days.
Best bar food in town ❤️
I just had the calamari and it was DELICIOUS and they give such big portions, you definitely get your money's worth! And the cooks/chef's were awesome! They really know how to treat their guest!
Good food and good price
Great food, awesome band. Worth finding!
The very best food and service and atmosphere
Love this place. Awesome bartenders and amazing halibut sandwich at a good price point. Sucks when it gets super packed, but there's clearly a reason it gets that way.
Excellent service and food even though they were super busy with us tourists
Excellent Food and specials- great drinks
Visit every time in Anchorage, good food interesting people great wait staff....sometimes
First day in Alaska. Tried your place. Wow... It was hoppin. A lot of people. Food was fast good tasting. Nice people. Thanks
Awesome place. Went here for lunch and had a great time. The atmosphere was awesome. Don’t order a well-done steak because every chef know a well done steak has lost it flavor due to over cooking and you will see the chef reaction. The cooking station is out in the open and if you’re a foodie you will like this restaurant. I was at the restaurant when a customer ordered a well done steak.
Great food. Great environment. Definitely worth waiting for
Everything about this place is perfect! Great atmosphere, staff, food & prices. This is a must have in Anchorage.
Great food, good service, and friendly environment.
Great place to have a nice local meal with friends. I was visiting friends and they spoke highly and said it was hard to get a table. You can grab a table and just have drinks or stay and have dinner- nobody is kicking you out of your table so I suggest you arrive early to get a spot. Some nice local fish - I had the cod special blackened on a salad, we also had the scallops, calamari and oysters. With the seafood you can't go wrong! They also have a giant bowl of candy that can be on your table and a nice list of local beers. Enjoy!!
Escargot was great here as well as the Steamer Clams...
Really good food. The giant block of cheese just hanging out on the bar for anyone to help them selves to a slice seems extremely unhygienic. Overall a good place
The atmosphere was so friendly and the vegetarian FiSt Pasta was delicious!!
Amazing experience. I was well satisfied with the service and the food was delicious!
Fun and lively bar. The food is amazing! Try the steamer clams or F Street pasta.
Great drinks and sevice, free cheese
Good food and those ladies bust there ass to keep the drinks coming.
My favorite place to go out. I like that there's not loud music that plays so you have to yell to whomever you're trying to speak to. It's nice to come here, grab drinks with friends, catch up or just hang out. It's pretty relaxing and suits mostly a 26+ crowd on weekdays. The weekends are super crowded but it's always a pretty fun place. Alex, the bartender, is also awesome! She makes great drinks and the service here is always quick.
A good place to have lunch or dinner. Burgers are fresh and they are known for their block cheese and crackers. Help yourself with the cheese and crackers..
Great place. Jill is one of the best bartenders. The crab sourdough sandwich is excellent as was the white bean/chicken soup. No place better. This is where the locals go.
great food, fun times!
Food is AMAZING
Fantastic food & drinks
Food is ok. Bartenders are rude and dismissive. The bouncers are block headed ego maniacs with severe Napoleon complexes( especially the short blue eyed bouncer with dark hair) honestly this place is garbage and the owner owns the dirty nasty cabin tavern as well both places are horrible. So if you wanna ruse staff whose all coked up and drugged up to serve you this is def the place
Watching them cook was like performance art, and the Halibut was the best I've ever had.
Food was amazing, service okay...but maybe that is an Alaskan wide thing (as we haven’t had the best service anywhere yet). Crab sandwich was to die for, down to the baguette. Oysters as fresh and lovely as they get. Scallops good, but could have been less cooked. French onion soup also to die for! Came looking for seafood and so happy we found it!
Unfortunately didn’t get to try the food because I stood at the bar for 10 minutes to not be greeted or even recognized. The one bartender looked directly at me and then turned away to have a conversation with other patrons. There were 8 people total in the whole bar so I can’t say they were even close to busy. Not sure what excuse they can provide for their customer service.
Don't bother going anywhere else in Anchorage for fish and chips! Best plate. Best fish. Best price.

It's always so hot in here. You guys should get air conditioning. That is my only complaint

The beer battered halibut was very good. Show up early and hover for an open spot. No-one was seating people, just wait for an open seat and grab it.

Great place to eat and drink
Excellent food, great service, exceptional bartender.
Love this place.... Blackened halibut sandwich is my favorite. Try subbing a Caeser salad for the fries. Jalapeno side instead of tater sauce
Friendly staff, the oysters were good
The place to be after hours. If you're a single woman, this is where all the affluent guys end up.
The food here is delicious! The beer, cold. And the service impeccable! You can't go wrong with this gem. It's small, space is limited, but when you get a seat be prepared for an experience. We sat by the large window able to see inside the kitchen. Let me tell you, all the seafood is fresh. We watched the chef filet cut and store the fish. My only disappointment was the calamari it did lack flavor bit everything else was great!
Enjoyed conversation with the patrons. Amazing service and atmosphere!
This place was awesome! From the food to the cooks, and sever! The only down fall was how you get a seat (which is why I only gave them 4 stars). It’s honestly a free for all. My wife and I had an unpleasant experience with two local ladies (and I use the term “ladies” very losely). We had been waiting patiently for approx 30 min for a seat to clear when two local “ladies” walked right past us and sat down. When we told them we were next and other people whom we didn’t even know said the same thing they proceeded to sit down “we come here every weekend and it’s first come first served” apparently they don’t know what that term actually means?! Other than the rude “ladies” the food and service was great!
Great place, to have halibut, fish and chips. Very welcoming. Recomended by locales. I will definitly go back♡
Packed to the gills, can't hear anything anyone is saying and it's pricey for a street bar and grill. Had app but skipped after because it too almost an hour just for clams. I wouldn't go back again unless it was empty.
Great food and service. Really friendly, neighborhood feel. You have to move quick though because it fills up fast.
The food was terrible. I had the sourdough crab and the halibut with the Caesar salad. Service was slow. Won't be back!
The best halibut and chips in town ?
The food was good and the prices were very reasonable. I had fish and chips. It is a popular place to eat.
Great beer battered halibut on salad. Of course, cold beer too
Would of given 5.... but the embelished, repetitive, tired stories from obese gas bag pilots can't go unnoticed. The oysters are great. Bring headphones or chat up one of the gold diggers lingering around on the celly.
This place gives off great vibes as soon as you walk in. The staff are all great and the food is amazing! Definitely must check it out!
Best quality food straight from alaska. If it's in season, get it.
Crab sandwich and fries were great, so was the calamari
Good food and service. NOT a chain, gets busy with locals. ( Always a good sign.)
Really good food, great atmosphere, reasonable prices.
Incredible food and service! One of our alltime favorites!
Pilot bar. Great food, cold beer. Eat some cheese.
Service is always good and the drinks are excellent. You have to try the food. The crowd here peaks a little earlier than other bars downtown but even when it's full, it's a good time. Also, unlimited free Tillamook cheddar cheese is a plus.
I love this place and try to come here Everytime I can get to Anchorage and first night back in awhile but was perfect end of the day and dinner for me.. halibut sandwich and salad was great
Great place to eat and drink
Excellent food, great service, exceptional bartender.

Great halibut! The fish was very fresh and tender. Great bar food all around. You can't go wrong with F station
Great food and atmosphere!!
It doesn't matter what time of day to eat here. The appetizers are awesome, soup of the day is always good. The drinks are always perfect here and hit the spot. This is a old local favorite place that has been around for a long time because it's always consistent.
Good food at a fair price. The gem is in the humor of the owner
Great food and price! I had the grilled halibut sandwich Tip: try their jalapeño mayo with the halibut!
Had a good halibut burger sandwich.
Great food! Friendly staff and chef. Small place with countertop service around the bar and also by the kitchen. The food was super fresh and cooked to perfection in front of you if you sit at the counter. Highly recommend the halibut fish n chips and the turkey sandwich.
Great place to go for food and beer. Also place where many airline employees hang out at.
Loved the great food and friendly service.
A great place to find the local atmosphere. There aren't many tables so be prepared to have a few cocktails. The scallops were delicious.
What a jewel. This is the best keept secret in Anchorage, AK! Loved it, especially the cheese. Will go back in a minute.
Loved the Alaskan halibut and subbed my chips for soup of the day which was delicious. The King St IPA was good too.
Very cool pilot bar. My wife and I ordered the halibut and chips. Very delicious but what I liked even more was the crazy jalapeno tartar sauce! I would love to go back and just drink that stuff like it was a pint. I also saw this weird thing in the men's bathroom. I assume pilots laugh at it.
We were excited to visit F Street Station while in Anchorage because it was highly rated however there was a line out the door as soon as we walked up!
Good food, but poor service
Probably the best value in Anchorage. Good food that is served late, a great staff and an always lively atmosphere.
Great steamed clams and fried oysters.
Food was excellent. Very great atmosphere
Always good food
Phenomenal fresh fish and shrimp. Terrific flavors and great knowledge of what beer to mix with their menu
F Street Station has been a must go to fr most of my life in Anchorage. It's the first place I go when I get back home from working for months out of town. The food is reasonably priced, and always spot on in all aspects. Caesar salad and their French onion soup are favorites....but their calamari, smoked salmon spread and beer battered halibut dishes are, par none, the best you can find. During the summer months, their daily salmon specials are amazing. The cooks here have cooking salmon down to a fine art, and well worth ordering
This is absolutely the beat place to grab an excellent bite and a brew and sit and chill. I would go back here in a heartbeat and sit at the bar to watch the hunks cook for me. They were fun too! My kind of place. Price was not bad and well worth it. The crab sandwich was to die for. I would fly up just for that! I'm not teasing, I really would! Check it out for yourself and see what I mean! Maybe when the Iditarod is in town I just may head up! You only live once!
This was an accidental find. Fun, funky, and some of the best food this Northernmost State. The chefs were make ng it happen two feet away from the guests. The sandwiches, the soup, and the fries were superb. The price was incredible, as well. Bravo.
Great fish and chips. Didn't come out hot though. Crab sandwich was good, but the menu didn't say it was crab salad. Little misleading, but overall worth a stop.
Loved everything about this place. Food was great and reasonably priced. I suggest you sit where you can watch the cooks. They really enjoy what they do.
F Street Station is infinitely times better than Orso if you’re indecisive about where to eat or drink in Anchorage! It has so much character and it’s amazing to sit at the bar and watch the kitchen create magic in front of you. They even have a huge block of cheese where you go up and just carve off what you need complimented with crackers. Will definitely come back
Good halibut fish and chips.
We had to wait several minutes, but it was worth it. Great value plus fun pub atmosphere.
Cool spot good food good drinks friendly crowd
Absolutely terrible service upon first arriving. I walk around the corner before even making it into the restaurant and an employee of yours is dragging a woman up the sidewalk. I come running in between them so he can take his hands off of her but he then put his hands on me saying I touched him first. There was no physical contact between him and I when I got between said woman and your employee, but he proceeded to grab my wrists and push me against the woman as well. Absolutely terrible service! I came running between them to be the peacemaker in this situation! NO EMPLOYEE SHOULD EVER PUT THEIR HANDS ON A CUSTOMER FIRST LIKE THAT, OR DRAG WOMEN UP THE STREET AS HE DID!
Very Good. Service was fast and friendly. Thanks!
This is a neat place to go for drinks, day or night. Their fried calamari is delicious and I recommend it over many other places that serve it. The only downside to this place is that it's almost always overly crowded, but I suppose there is a reason for that!
Best French onion
The food was great! The place was packed when I went in, so service was kind of slow and the waitress seemed really stressed. I'd probably go again at a less peak time, if I was in the area again. The place has character. Giant cheese block at the front that people are actively chunking away at
Took half an hour to take an order. Kitchen shut down and food never came.
The halibut sandwich was fantastic.
Amazing!!! Small but packs a real punch with flavor
Great place to have a drink, catch up with friends or just have a drink and relax by yourself. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Great haddock sandwich and tomato soup. Free cheddar!!!
Fabulous atmosphere, fabulous food, fabulous service
Food was great service was not. Change of shift with no communication. Server 2 was sort in conversation and concerns with service.
What a fantastic friendly bar. Been told the sea food is great as well - will have to try next time we’re in.
Awesome place with killer food and super nice staff. The place is typically a touch chaotic but the staff never compromises on drink or food quality. A place that can't truly be appreciated without unwinding and enjoying the experience knowing that the staff is going to always take care of you.
Great food. Had a large group and seating was a bit limited. Would recommend.
The BEST food we had on our trip and as someone born and raised in anchorage, I had never gone until coming back home this last last summer after moving away and it blew my husband and I both away. Delicious, cooked in front of you with flair
Love the F St Station food and off the beaten path vibes. The chefs specials are to die for and the wait staff does their best to get everyone a seat in this small establishment. Get there early worked for us.
Food was great! First come first serve. If you wait there will be tables or you could share like we did. Nice grill station and great server!
If you're in Anchorage and you haven't been to F Street then you've made a mistake. This is the place in town that any chef at any other restaurant will recommend you go. Amazing food, a lively staff, and a fun environment make this place a good time any time of day.

Cozy bar with good food.
Been eating there since 1991. Food is on point! Guaranteed good meal.
A little pricey, but no more so than the rest of the area. Best french onion soup I've had. They do regular specials, have a good beer selection, attentive (and often cute!) staff, and great food. The halibut is one of my favorites!
Too crowded. Always have a hard time finding a place to sit. Calamari is good. Beer could be colder.
Great food and great atmosphere. Absolutely wonderful service.
Horrible service. Rude staff. Portion size has decreased. I watched the rude cook wipe his sweaty brow and immediately grab bread for someone’s meal. When I paid for double portion of crab I got a half scoop and when I asked about it he said “that’s all you’re gonna get buddy”. This isn’t the first time one of the staff has been rude or told people if they don’t like it they can leave. Groups of us in the restaurant were waited on by an older woman who did not care to come by and check on us at all. Other patrons were complaining to us that she was doing the same to them. Then rude and dismissive when they spoke up. This restaurant used to be friendly and fun and has turned into a drunk bar where they care little about the food and just want you to buy drinks and leave I guess. I will never spend another dollar here and I would highly recommend not coming to this establishment. I do business and spend my money with people who enjoy what thy do. These folks do not.
Always crowded so plan for a 10-20 min wait. Grilled Halibut sandwiches are amazing. Don't worry about the coat hooks being all used up as there are plenty conveniently located under the bar next to your stool.
Long wait, worst clam chowder soup I have ever tried, had horrible stomach aches after it, overprocessed salmon.
Great food. Reasonable price.
Horrible service!! Waitress was snotty, unfriendly and unwelcoming. Will never return because of this. Food was ok. Paid $24 for the Alaskan portion Texan portion was considered half size. Prices for the 2 weren’t stated on the menu but I was expecting $12-$15 for Alaskan size not $24. And it was not a big size at all. Don’t waste your time or money here. And fire that waitress with the short blonde hair she doesn’t need to be in the service industry if she doesn’t like to serve.
Amazing food! Had the crab sandwich and LOVED IT!
The calamari was good the scallop pasta was okay.
Open air kitchen with the best bar food in Anchorage. Younger crowd. Always a good vibe.
Great food. No BS service. Anchorage staple.
We enjoyed our visit here, craft beers and a couple of tasty appetizers and a great server!
Flew into town from Wisconsin for our honeymoon, our Uber driver said this was the place to go. We went there and was she ever right! The fish was amazing, the bartender worked her tail off getting drinks out to everyone. They all earned every dollar they made that night. It was a great experience the food was amazing and we couldn't have had a better start to our honeymoon!
Our favorite place in Anchorage!! The Texan size or Alaskan size halibut is the best ever! And no matter what the sign says, you can eat the cheese!!! Yum! And Alaskan Amber on tap... oh my goodness!!!
It cozy bar and grill place and they have some great fresh local seafood and their grilled halibut burger is awesome. I would definitely recommend to try this place.
good food just little bit crowded all the time you have to wait for tables, but is worthy
The food was good, though we didn't really get the memo on how to order food directly from the chefs until we had been there a while wondering where the waitress had gone. It was more bar than restaurant when we got there and, granted, we showed up after normal dinner hours after a long travel day, but the really loud, really drunk folks did not help the atmosphere. Seating was also at a premium. That said, we enjoyed the food and the staff were beyond friendly. Just go early if you're more interested in the food.
Came for the food. Expect a wait because is a great dive bar with amazing food. Fish and chips was amazing along with their gumbo (special for that night).
I would not come here to eat. They tout large portions but it was rather small, all things considered. They called it alaska portions which were supposedly twice as large as Texas portions. I don’t think that was the case. My colleague did say that the halibut he had was super fresh but he wished there was more. Our waitress was also pretty snotty and seemed to act like we weren’t worth her time, a surefire way to annoy me. It’s more of a bar than anything else, with the usual military/aviation motif that you can find. It was pretty busy when we showed up. They have a decent selection of drinks and the crowd seemed happy, so keep that in mind. Again, wouldn’t come here for food, but it seems like a nice place for drinks. Note in the picture below they didn’t even melt the cheese on the French dip.
Exceptionally slow, server repeatedly made errors at our table and at other tables. Been 45 minutes - still waiting for good.
Everything they make is very good and the customer service is great.
Best casual bar in Anchorage. Always packed.
Excellent food, cant wait to experience the service and atmosphere, I couldn't find a babysitter but ordered to take out and it was superb
Have to try the halibut fish and chips here!! Can get pretty packed but they are open late and serve food until 1 am. Service is good, and you have a kitchen bar area where you can see the chefs make the food. Good selection of local craft beer too
Amazing fresh seafood. The steak sandwich is delicious.
When and there's quite a bit of a lunch crowd so I can send some paid at 10 to 15 minute wait. Highly recommend the French onion soup. The crab sandwich was pretty good the chicken sandwich with raspberry vinaigrette was the bomb. Do not recommend the fries they just tasted like oil.
The best bar and eats in Anchorage!! Service is phenomenal, drinks are smooth and the food is delicious! I love the calamari and the blackened halibut burger is amazing! Pair it with a Jameson Press and life is good. Space is limited on the weekends, but if you are in town, one must stop by!
Great comfort food and great service
Never a dull moment or bad food - we drag the family out for fish and chips here a couple times a month. It's the best in town, the service is always top notch, and the atmosphere is fun and full of locals
Good food.
There's no hostess so it's an absolute free for all for seating. Jump on a seat as soon as someone leaves. We came and left and tried again after reading some reviews. Even at 2:30pm it was still packed and we barely got seats. Food was middle of the road and it was very noisy. Bartender did an awesome job considering the amount of customers. The chef was impressive with getting orders out. Only 5 tables and the rest of the seating is bar or standing. One bonus is one of the bars are around the grill so you can watch the chef work.
Amazing olde timey bar with stiff cocktails, keen conversation, and an array of food to die for. All made from scratch in an open side kitchen... you get to watch'em flip your halibut! From awesome to bizarre quotes on the chalk board. ALWAYS a great time meeting here. The street F. Never fails to impress your senses while you digress your day.

Best driver I've had
