Great atmosphere, the food was delicious, got the all you can eat buffet special and got plate after plate brought to our table and even had dessert included. Our waiter was polite and professional and we had a great overall experience, cant wait to come back!

09/12/18: On sept 7, I brought my full class of students to the restaurant. few days prior to that, I spoke with the owner about the field trip. He was enthusiastic and happy to have my students visit for lunch. When we arrived, a table was set for all of us, we ordered the lunch buffet. The sheer amount of food produced for the $13 buffet impressed the adults, and the quality and quantity of the food brought out to us was delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to other teachers who want a welcoming place to bring their students for lunch. For anyone looking for a hidden gem of Fairbanks, El Dorado is one of them. If you want a good Mexican lunch relatively fast and fair in price they're good

Out of iced tea and several meals in the early evening. The carne asada was just a steak with a few onion rings. The burritos were great. And very good salsa to start. Small inside and seating is hidden in some of the areas making more intimate areas if desired.

Upon arriving I waited a few minutes to be seated, no big deal, however the atmosphere from the very beginning was off. After finally being seated, apparently a low table to accommodate my disabled mother was a slight inconvenience - still no big deal, I waited 20+ minutes with a menu before the waiter finally reappeared, upon ordering the Carne Asada I am told “We have two reservations tonight a table of 9 and a table of 8, so we have limited our menu to just Tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. Plus the Carne Asada takes like 50 minutes.” Bottom line a restaurant should not leave you with a full blown menu to look at for 20 minutes just to come tell you that they only have 3 items for sale, at 6:30pm on a Saturday. What kind of service is that?! I will however add that Their chips and Salsa were pretty good, up until I got up and walked out with the bad taste of customer service in my mouth.

Horrible service, did not bring drinks after ordered, only brought 2 waters for party of 6 people. Told not to order off menu as wait time was 35+ minutes, recommended to eat buffet...all canned type food (salsa not fresh, canned jalapenos, no rice, canned beans) would NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone! If you're looking for Mexican food, do not get it here!

One of the better meals we had while in Fairbanks. Had the fish tacos and a soup. Meal was delicious. Service was great. Not a lot of great food options in Fairbanks but this is one worth checking out if you’re in the area.

The food was fantastic!!!! Most Mexican restaurants serve messy plates of mush, but this place was wonderful. The rice was fresh and the meat moist and juicy. Portions were large and hot. DEFINATLY will be returning in the future for all my Mexican cravings!

Got the vegetarian burrito, as I have at numerous Mexican restaurants. All the vegetables in this burrito looked like they came from a bag of cheap grocery store frozen vegetables. Those cube cute carrots, small beans etc. That in conjunction with $4 for a soda and no free refills...I wouldn't return

Definitely better than Gallos. Very cozy, not fancy, never packed, just perfect. Best margaritas I've found in Fairbanks. This is our go to for Mexican food when we want Margs with it.

Where do I begin....I went into this restaurant and settled on the Buffet, well EVERYTHING was cold or room temperature at best. Not ONE THING tasted fresh, it tasted like it had been sitting there a good while. I explained this to the MANAGER on duty Friday June 7th at 6:30PM. I inquired if I could just order the kids chicken tenders meal, he said sure. 30 minutes later out comes the chicken tender meal, nice, hot and fresh but more like the Adult Chicken Tender Meal. I said I ordered the Kids Chicken Tender Meal, he said I told them to spruce it up a bit for you, I said wow, no need to, but thank you. I get my Bill and not only did he STILL charge me for that nasty Buffett, but he also charged me THE ADULT PRICE for the kids meal I ordered. When I questioned my bill on why he charged me for the Adult meal he proceeded to take back my plate of Chicken Tenders as I’m eating and have already eaten one full tender, to remove enough Food to make it a kids meal AGAIN, REALLY!!!! So unprofessional, rude and very very distasteful!! So what is he going to do serve those TAINTED Chicken Tenders to another unsuspecting diner, and you call yourself a MANAGER? I wish I would have gotten his name as he was NOT wearing a name tag. I will NEVER come back or recommend this Restaurant to ANYONE, ALL TOURIST BEWARE!!!!

My husband's plate was a disgrace. Beans were crusty and "tortilla was expired. The rice was dried out and the meat was dry and unseasoned. Needless to say we didn't pay or even eat what we were served. I wish Alaskans can experience an authentic plate from my country.

Ordered a taco salad it was full of fried tortilla, quarter cup of taco lettuce and the steak(which wasnt more than several bites) was cut up like cat food and dumped into the refried beans at the bottom. The worst thing about getting the worst salad I've ever had? Noone cared. I've been a local for several months and treated like a tourist. Avoid places like these.

For being out in frontier land, they have awesome Mexican food. I went here a couple months ago and they have an amazing cook. What brought my rating down for this restaurant was that I sat down to a group of older white lady's who racial profiled me when I was paying the bill. The owner is doing an amazing job. I also feel he should post signs that state racial profiling will not be tolerated by staff or customers in this restaurant.

There really is no reason for some of the most processed ingredients in the cuisine world to be so expensive, and that’s what it is here. If the cuisine was gourmet, using top notch ingredients then I would understand but the truth is they are not. Many of the ingredients comes from cans and jars. If the prices were balanced with the ingredients I’d say it’s a bargain being the service is good. Also, there are literally 4-5 televisions at the bar in the back, distracting diners from their company and fare. All televisions playing the same sport. Sensory overload. Take pride in your establishment, serve stellar dishes that truly represents the beauty of Mexico and traditions of the land. Refried beans from a can isn’t celebrating the traditional ingredients of our southern brothers and sisters. Give me some mesquite smoked prickly pear and authentic mezcal of Oaxaca.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had and by far the worst in fairbanks. Went on a Thursday night and all of their tables were full which was fine because I was still able to sit at the bar. The bartender took around 10 minutes to give us a menu and say hi but poured many drinks for others right infront of me spilling multiple times. Took 50 minutes to get our two tacos and a enchilada. The beef was completely unseasoned. There was a party of 5 in the back which took all three servers they had that night to attend to them. My wife ordered the house margarita and it tasted like dish soap. The couple that was next to us that was there before us never got their food and tried to pay for their beer and leave. They were told the food would be free but to wait 5 minutes for it because it was already done. After 10 minutes of waiting for the food they just left. The staff did say sorry to us for taking so long and gave my wife a free shot of tequila. We will never be back.

Small unassuming outside with a nice inside. Came in on a Friday evening for dinner. Had to get menus for ourselves and find a server to take our orders. Server discouraged us from ordering food because they only have two people working and it'd take a long time for food to be made. Charged $2 to change corn tortillas to flour. Seriously El Dorado? Server was very polite and did what he could. Food was delicious. Under different management this could be 4 or 5 stars.

This is my second time coming. The first experience was amazing. Food and service was excellent. Today the waiter has a horrible attitude about the littlest things. Was served chips with no salsa, and when I asked for it he got mad and served us JUICE. (Because I'm pregnant) I ordered a Virgin Pina colada and was still charged full price at the end of my meal (even though there was no alcohol in it). Also, the food wasn't that great this time. It looked very cheap and bland.. which it was. I will not be returning.

SO GOOD! Their potato tacos, flautas, margaritas and beef tacos are AWESOME. Leaning a bit towards street food, it's a dark cave perfect for drinks, pregaming, tapas, or just dinner with kids (it's got music/tv going, they aren't going to disturb people). Love it, it's so cute and their food is great!
