Incredible views with incredible food, drinks, and service! I have no complaints hence the 5 star rating. I will be back!
Very fancy food. You definitely get what you pay for. I would recommend going when the sun is up or you will end up looking into the dark void that is Alaskan nights. Servers are on top of their game.
The view is awesome
Superior, personal service. Superb cuisine and outstanding views. Truly worth it!
Gorgeous views, excellent service and quality.
Love this place. Wonderful view and very expensive... in a good way
My wife and I have been going to the Crow's Nest several times a year for at least 10 years now. It is one of our favorite resteraunts in Anchorage. The service has always been spectacular, the food good and the views unrivaled. One year, on our anniversary, the Crow's Nest was offering a 7 course meal. At the time my wife was eating vegetarian. It was a relatively slow night and the chef volunteered to make all 7 courses vegetarian for my wife. They even paired different wines for her. On the fly the chef threw together unbeleivably good and unique dishes for my wife. She loved it and we got the impression the chef did as well. The Crow's Nest will always be one of our favorites just for this experience. I am assuredly not a foodie. Most often my favorite meals have been found at out of the way innexpensive restaraunts. We use to love the road side carts when working in Mexico. I would not take my word for how good the food relative to other fine dining restaraunts. I certainly enjoyed most of my meals at Crow's Nest more than I did at the Eiffel tower (which I liked a lot) and a 5 star restaraunt in San Francisco (not so much, which might mean I am not a sophisticated eater). The service at Crow's Nest Rivaled both, however, and both were also very good.
Logan made the best bananas fosters EVER.
Fun casual dining experience. Great dinner views
Excellent view, the food was the best, Ryan our server was the most friendly person. Great ambience
I went with some girlfriends to celebrate one of their birthdays and our server Ryan was awful. We went towards the end of the night and they put us back in a corner area. When asking about cocktails we ask how the margarita was and he said he’d recommend us just going to Gallos. He gave no other suggestions. Then when it came to ordering dinner one of us just ordered an appetizer and he said “is that your dinner?!” She responded yes and he said “ballers” as if making fun of her. When our food came our appetizer that we ordered before the drinks never arrived and when we asked about it all Ryan said was “oh I guess you did order that first” and didn’t apologize. For a nice restaurant like this that has higher prices you’d think you would have good customer service.
Not impressed. Other and a haveing a decent location they got nothing els going on. I was expecting more but over all was disappointed. The location is nice because of the view but that's it. The first thing I noticed was that the table cloth was dusty. The second thing I noticed was the service is slow despite a rather empty restruant. The food was average, the steak was ok but any time you need to put sauce on a steak its not up to par... Its not bad its not good it's ok but overpriced for the quality you receive.
Steak cuts were the only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars. Better to stick with sea food.
Great food and great views. The service is excellent as well
The best scallops!
Nice place, food Ok , reasonably priced
This is the best restaurant in Anchorage.
The service was wonderful, Ryan. The wine was very good. Love the setting and the scenery. The salmon was a too fresh. It was raw in the middle. Disappointed in the salmon. The squash soup was good. Very expensive.
Hostess didn’t care she just complained that she had been working close to 9 hours that day. Spoke to the manager Eric he said he had been serving tables all night so couldn’t handle managing the resteraunt.
excellent atmosphere & view just a little spendy if you ask me.
Starting to show it's age. Food and Decor are a little dated.
Took my wife here for an anniversary dinner in 1995. Had a top of the line meal with excellent service! The menu is great, but expensive! A must eat for those on a date or anniversary. Will probably eat there again.
Lives up to is reputation as one of the best places in Anchorage. Meal was divine, view fantastic, and dessert solid. One annoyance was service felt a bit scattered, rushed, and the dress code wasn't really well enforced. That took us out if the experience a bit
Servers are great. Food is good. Hostess was painfully rude but the manger put her in her place. So overall...not a bad way to spend an evening.
Nice place
From what I have personally seen there are still to many prostitute that are taken there by their pimps so they can get seen.
Amazing views from the bar. It's awesome.
Four stars for the view alone. The rest, meh. Bartender couldnt have cared less. Pretty pretentious on the whole, but that's a hotel bar for you. But do go for the view.
Great view of the city and superb service. Food was very good; but not great. Unfortunately, the portions are very small. One would expect more food for the high prices. It may be trendy to have large plates contain minuscule amounts of food, but I am off put by skimpy portions. "Less" is definitely not "more," especially when the entrees are costly. If you are hungry, choose a different place to eat.
Best restaurants in anchorage we have tried with excellent prices and superlative wines selection.
best view in anchorage!! limited menu, but great food and drinks.
I dine here approximately 20 times a year. The staff and the food have always been fantastic.
Had a very nice meal.
Limited but delightful menu
This place was wonderful. The views are breath taking and the food was prepared to perfection. And I am sure you are wounding why not a 5 star. Well I made reservations on line and put my notes in that it was our anniversary. I just thought that the staff would of said something. But no one did we still had a great time.
Had the pork chop..just right, great service
Best bang for your buck as Anchorage fine dining!
I visit every month with my friends from the now defunct Rotary Club of Tring. My personal experience is therefore only relevant to Wednesday lunch times. The service on Wednesdays is very good, with two very friendly and helpful waitresses. The food is good value and would never claim to be Cordon Bleu. It is a good example of a pub serving traditional British food. Inexpensive and simple.
Food wasn’t that great and very overpriced! Portions were small and service was horrible. Waiter/bartender treated us like we didn’t matter and our money wasn’t good because we didn’t look like the “type” of people who should dine there. Over all I was not impressed and will not ever be going back. Everyone’s moneys the same and we tipped the guy like 50% just to show him that you should treat everyone the same! He ignored us the whole time and just served the man next to us and other server walking by would help us.
Best food in all of alaska!
“High class” and expensive for nothing! I was not greeted upon arrival I had to actually disrupt apparently 3 “busy talking greeters”. Then given an Overused and abused clothed napkins. Had to wait 10 minutes just to get a server and a menu! I ordered the famous pork chop and it came raw and still pink in the middle But the waitress was so nice and extremely patient. The staff was amazing! But food was a pass.
Expensive, but great food and service.... The view is great!
You have to try the duck. It is fantastic.
Great food, awesome view
Oh, what a grand time. We have dined here on multiple visits to Anchorage and have always enjoyed. Tonight we started with foie gras with pistachio nut dusting, followed by a fall panella salad, entree of octopus. ..excellent! ! Finished off with chocolate cake and a beautiful meyer lemon tart with housemade vanilla ice cream.
Awesome views a bit pricey Like being on Captain Cooks ship
Awesome drinks and Attic Char dish. Great first date place.
We had a lovely birthday dinner last night and somehow expected a b- day dessert as had been offered in the past. With much fan fare, the waitress brought a large plate with two tiny chocolate hearts. Pretty chintzy . Wally Junior .
The best dinner with view of city in all of Anchorage
Food was great and the service was good.
My favorite view in Anchorage. Excellent wine selection exceeded only by the diverse Scotch collection.
Food is upscale. $$$$ Can be casual or formal.
dope
Watch a 3 hour sunset while enjoying a well-crafted sidecar and charcuterie board...Bananas Foster will drive you to heaven.
Views and cocktails we're great
Great place for special days, service is outstanding and foods are excellent. Francesca is the best.
Incredible service and food!
I love the crows nest! My hubby and I love to go for special celebrations. We are never let down with the amazing flavor on each dish!
Great service. Great mixed drinks.
The food was amazing and the poached pear we had for dessert was the best pear I had ever had! Will definitely be returning here!
Just dessert and Cafe Diablo. Chocolate cake was good. Cafe Diablo was like drinking gasoline.
Always an enjoyable experience and yummy dinner options. Cheese platter is fun with unique samples of cheese, nuts, fruit and honeycomb to bring another element. Service is top notch!
That view...
Penthouse restaurant and bar at the top of the Captain Cook hotel. Excellent views of the Chugach mountains as well as Cook inlet, Sleeping Lady and Ridout mountains. On a clear day can see Denali and ranges. Food selection and preparation was all excellent. Waitstaff attentive but not overbearing. Excellent wine list! Very enjoyable and relaxing evening out
Francesca was excellent and very knowledgable about any questions we had. King crab and halibut are pleasing to the palate.
Awesome as always and great views. Waite staff is the best in Anchorage and the food is superb, a little pricey but it's a hotel in touristville. I have gone there since the 80's and it is always great.
Our meal and drinks were worth every penny. Their certified Somm,, Tom, no longer works there,, but their staff is still knowledgeable and gave me a great wine..
Great food and service
Amazing food and service
The service was horrible all what the waiter and waitress care more about is how much you're gonna order so they can get more tips. They made us feel so bad that we only ordered drinks and appetizers compared to the Fletcher's downstairs they have amazing stuff and friendly. BTW we only have time for the drinks and appetizers because I have to catch my flight. I love the hotel
Best place in Anchorage. The Crow's Nest is personally my favorite place to dress up and share a delicious meal with my husband. Beautiful views and the best customer service you could ever ask for.
Great spot to kickoff or end your Alaskan journey! The views are perfect!
It's was simply wonderful all and all, the service and view. The food was out there. Perfect and on point! I suggest this restaurant to anyone willing a few more bucks for a meal that , to my opinion, worth every single dollar spent!
Always overpriced for the food, service is great, but you're paying for the view, and it's totally worth it for special date nights
If you want to be pampered visit this place. Great tasting food. Found a small insect in my lettuce which they promptly replaced when it was brought to their attention.
Been meaning to take my date here for the longest time, and finally I got to do so for our anniversary. We ordered the whole nine yards, and our anniversary dinner was unfortunately interrupted after eating the oysters as a starter and then the purging of the oysters. A small "I'm sorry" is all Ryan, our server did for us, and explained that he "had served dozens of oysters" and he continued to explain that the gentlemen across the room didn't get sick so it must not have been their oysters that caused the vomiting. Very disappointed with the restuarant. Horrible service.
Tasty bits with the pork chop. Apple, nuts, sprout leaves and sugar sauce. Pork itself was ok.
Very nice atmosphere. The food was spectacular. Our waiter did a fine job in explaining the menu and the service was exceptional as it was unobtrusive. Could not have had a nicer experience.
We lived in Anchorage for four years and had always heard that the Crow's Nest was one of the best places to go for a special occasion, but we never quite made it there. So, now that we have come back to visit, we made it a priority and had dinner a few nights ago. The restaurant was booked but we were told that if we didn't want to wait, we could order the full menu in the bar. No problem, had a beautiful view of Anchorage, server very friendly, nice snacks on the table, we ordered appetizers...Tabby's Crabby Patty and the Charcuterie and a bowl of Crab bisque. The crabcake was bland, the sauce unexceptional. The charcuterie was truly awful. Two of the four meats had a rancid taste to them and the pate was crusted on one side and also rancid. The bisque had, literally, two pieces of crab in it and was not even flavourful. I know this review may seem like it cannot have been this bad, but truly, it was. The drinks were good, the server, friendly and the view, wonderful. I will not be eating there again. We should have gone to Club Paris or Sacks or any number of other restaurants for good food.
Being an 'older' lifelong Alaskan, the 'Cook has always been one of my favorite establishments, and the Crow's Nest my favorite place to show off Anchorage's cuisine with a view. Just a few observations: -We went for the halibut. Upon ordering we were informed "we just ran out". This was an early (7:00) seating. Unfortunate, but it happens. -We asked (as we always do) if we could just split a Caesar's. "Of course; no problem!". When we got the bill we were charged an additional $8.00 for splitting a $12.00 salad (i.e. $20). I understand splits, but thought that to be very excessive considering spending more than $300.00 there that evening (valet, cocktail, wine, dinner, dessert, tips). -Kudos to our waiter. There was a very difficult couple sitting next to us and he handled himself with the utmost patience. -Valet Parking: When you pay $20.00 plus tip for valet parking the valet should probably open the door for your date. To be fair, upon leaving, the (different) valet opened both doors for us. Perhaps because that's when you tip? Overall a pretty good evening...
Great service !
Wonderful people working there. Enjoyed the atmosphere. We were from Indiana and Chicago in our group we had a wonderful time with our waitress.
Good service and good coffee!
Great food and ambiance
Best anniversary date treat!!! 22 years and still love to go back. Best steak and crab dinner
I spent +$70 on my bill on food and drinks and the server was being super snarky all the entire time and took forever to take orders/drinks and had the audacity to say "I wasn't baller enough to order from the entree menu".
Best food and best service in anchorage.
Great place to go for a fancy dessert! Bananas foster is amazing!
Delicious Steak. My wife had a very tender and tasty Octopus. Beautiful views!
One of my top 3 places in Alaska for a romantic fine dining experience.
Unbelievable experience, unlike any other! Incredible views and food. Pocketbook will be lighter after going here (we had four people in our group) but one of the best meals possible in Alaska!!!
Outstanding food and incredible service!
This is hands down the best food and service I have ever had. I love the atmosphere, the courses are timed perfectly and the staff are wonderful. I have become a frequent customer of the crows nest because you can always guarantee a quality and amazing meal!
Great service, great view, great food, very relaxing and had a romantic atmosphere. Went here for our anniversary and they put flowers on the table with a special note. Beautiful sunset! I recommend the banana split with a cup coffee. The dessert is a decent size for sharing.
I''m going to have to agree with the others who said that the servers treat you like a lesser person if you don't look like the Rich and Swanky type. Cons- I ordered the Game Burger and it was the most sloppiest poorly put together thing I've ever seen, yolk spilling out all over the bun and the plate, bottom bun SOAKED in grease, and the fries are quite laughable, they look like hash browns, people at Carl's Jr can do better and that's just sad if your going to be charging a lot for the food. Talk about a complacent chef, it's like they don't even attempt to make good food if your not the rich swanky type. Pros-The atmosphere is really nice, great view and the beer is good and reasonably priced. The staff is professional but they need to step up their food quality.
The king crab was wonderful and the wine list was great
A real treat to visit.
Crow's Nest is Amazing
I had heard that Crow's Nest had some of the best dessert in town, so my husband made a reservation for us to go there after our anniversary dinner to try it out. The view was gorgeous, but the service was unexpected. When we told the waitress that we were only getting dessert she told us we were sitting in the wrong place but she would just let us stay because she "was already having a bad night". That comment made us super uncomfortable as if we were a problem. She didn't check on us at all the entire evening and served dessert first to other tables that had eaten dinner and ordered dessert well after us. The whole experience as a treat for our anniversary made us feel like a huge inconvenience and we definitely can't see ourselves going back or recommending this place to anyone. Like I said, the view was nice, but there are many other places to get a nice view without being treated so unkind.
Great pre set menu for June. I love keeping an eye on what new things they'll offer! Veal picatta was amazing.
I have had better service at McDonald's and better food! The service was terrible and the food over done and poorly cooked. Not at all pleased. Wish I had never taken my friend there. Will never go back and NEVER recommend this place! Yuck!! Wish there was a minus star!
Wonderful service and great dining experience. Beautiful view to go with it all!
Incredible place
Have been dining here since early 90's still beautiful view and excellent food n service
Beautiful view, great food
Pricy but worth the view!
Great view of the city and excellent service at the bar. I can't speak to the restaurant service because I've only sat at the bar. The hamburger is sublime, the crab bisque is solid, and the drinks are well-executed.
Excellent restaurant with great views. Highly recommended
Lovely! So Romantic
Expected better. Good food, great location, poor staff very unfriendly
The food was a bit over priced for how small it was but the waitresses were very nice and got me all my needs but for seafood I'd recommend simon and seaforts they serve more food for a cheaper price but the view is great too
We came here to celebrate the ending of our amazing trip to Alaska and could not have been more impressed. It definitely is a more expensive place, but the food was absolutely amazing. The view was equally as amazing as the food, and the entire staff was excellent. They were all so friendly and helpful.
Had a great server (Tasha). Will come again.
Manager is amazing! He went above and beyond when we didnt like our food.
Great view, great food!
I have never had to walk out of a restaurant in my 31 years but tonight I had to because of the service there! It was horrible I waited over 1 hour and 30 minutes for a steak! Also there was a guy who came after I did and was still served before myself. I am very dissatisfied with the service I recieved today! If I can give it a 1/4 star I would.
Wow what happened to this place??? Thanks for the not so delicious food and Expensive experience.. The view was nice...
Pricey but always excellent food, wonderful ambience and stunning views.
Fabulous food, great drinks. Expansive view. Recommend to all. We are salmon and crab legs. Yum.
Great place, very new nice. Food was outstanding.
You've never had an experience like The Crow's Nest! The crab bisque is to die for! The service is phenomenal with friendly people.
Beautiful views, good food and drinks. Loved it there
Kitchen closes at random times in the evening. Avoid coming here and wasting your time.
Best Restaurant in Anchorage. If you want an excellent dining experience Crows Nest is where you have to go. The service was the best I have experienced yet.
My husband and I went here for a date night and we had a great time. The views were amazing and our waitress was so nice and knowledgeable. The food and drinks were delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.
Great view and absolutely amazing meal
Great really great
Classy
There are many excellent restaurants in Alaska, but you will not find the same quality food, drink, and views of Alaska. From your table you'll see every block of Downtown Anchorage and the Cook Inlet from the top floor of the Hotel Captain Cook. The environment is a beautiful cherry red wood appearance with gold accents. The elevators to access the Crow's Nest is next to Fletcher's restaurant. There are many varieties of wines and if you have questions a sommelier is available. You'll get more food by mass in other restaurants, but I doubt you'll find the quality. The flavor of the meat is amazing and the cinnamon taste in the bananas foster makes Crow's Nest my number one restaurant in Alaska. If this review was helpful please click the Like button. September 2019 (1) Charcuterie: $22.00 (1) Mixed Field Greens: $12.00 (1) Crow’s Nest Caesar: $12.00 (1) North American Bison Filet: $48.00 (1) Octopus "2018": $38.00 (1) Bananas Foster: $14.00 (1) Coffee: $4.00 (1) Decaf Coffee: $4.00 (1) Segura Viudas Reserva Heredad (Bottle): $54.00 Tax: $0.00
It has been better. The view, the staff was amazing. The food was so so. The dinner rolls and the whipped butter was delicious. The king crab fritters were delicious as well. They say it's served with a pickle juice aioli. It's like calling calling a dish washer a hydro-ceramic engineer. King crab fritters with tartar sauce. Delicious, but tartar sauce. We split the Cesar salad, good good. Then came the main dish.... The paella..... Ohhh the paella.... Where do I start. We got it because we were feeling a little seafoody tonight and saw that the paella came with muscles, octopus, halibut, scallops, spot prawns, and chorizo. First there were no spot prawns at all, only two itty bitty pieces of octopus about the size of the tip of an index finger, about a 2oz portion of halibut, 6 muscles that had an off taste to them (not good), very very very over cooked chorizo, and extremely mushy rice. It took way too long for the dishes to come out to even think about sending food back. I held my tongue for as long as I could, but eventually had to bring the overcooked chorizo to the attention of the server. He tried to explain to me how it was supposed to be like that because the rice needs to crisp and crisping the rice crisps the sausage as well. I then told him that the rice was mush. He didn't have a response and left the table. I don't blame him, I just can't believe the chef let that leave the kitchen. We should've gone with the ribeye and the king crab instead... Wa waa waaaaahhh
It's really all about the view and the service staff. The drinks are good, the food is alright
If you're looking for a bar with an amazing view, we quite enjoyed ourselves at the Crow's Nest bar located on the 20th floor of the Hotel Captain Cook. No reservations needed on the bar side. Come when they open at 5pm to get the table/chairs you want. Their margarita is tasty. Free nuts and olives are provided at each table. You may order from the dinner menu. We plan on returning during different times of the year to see different views bases on weather. Cheers!
Amazing dinner last night 5 floors above our room! The view is gorgeous
(Translated by Google) try the octopus. with dignity. (Original) попробуйте осьминога. достойно.
Spectacular food with an amazing view of the city while you eat.
Amazing food and dining experience
It was really good food and great service.
Other reviews reported the staff was unfriendly, but our servers were very nice and gave us attentive service. Dinner was fantastic and the views are the best in town. It was our first visit to the Crow's Nest and exceeded our expectations.
Love the view winter or summer. The changing menu is a big benefit. The food is always first class. The extensive wine list and bar have great options. The attentive wait staff are responsive and friendly.
My husband and I tried to go to Crow's Nest for a nice evening out. We had just had our second baby and this was our first time out alone since then. I had a cute outfit on, but was wearing flip flops because it was a warm summer night. The hostess said for everyone to hear "flip flops are not allowed in here". She was rude and unapologetic. This is Anchorage, are you kidding me. Meanwhile, they were seating people with Xtra tuff's and ratty hiking boots. We said okay, walked out and went somewhere else. We have never and will never go back!
Wonderful place to have a nice romantic dinner! Service was exceptional. Food was deliciously wonderful. Definitely recomend the bison.
This is a five star restaurant, dress nice, a romantic place and a family place all in one.
The one, the only, the legend. An Anchorage establishment, going strong after all these years. Have only ever had a lovely time, both at the Crow's Nest and the hotel itself.
One of the best views in downtown, the crow's nest is a must-visit spot while in Anchorage. Sitting at the bar will provide a pleasant, albeit routine venture. For the proper experience, get a table with a window view. East provides an unobstructed view of the mountains, while west tables have a view of the inlet. Food and drinks, while priced slightly high, are both worth a go.
Fabulous service, imaginative and delicious plates
(Translated by Google) Fensi restaurant. Microscopic snacks, main dishes a little more. But after the usual Alaskan portions seem very small too :). View of the city from the 20th floor and good service. The food is average. Desserts are delicious. The check immediately included a 20% tip. This I have not seen.
The Crow's Nest is easily one of the best fine dining options in Anchorage. They do request a smart/business casual dress code. Making reservations was a simple, smooth process and upon arriving, we were immediately taken to our table. Environment was nice with lots of wood tones and warm lighting. The views were unrivaled with views of the mountains through one wall of windows and views of the bay through the other. The service was great as the staff was very attentive to our needs. We enjoyed four courses during our dinner: hor d'oeuvres, appetizer, main course, and dessert. For the most part, the food was executed at a fairly high level in both quality and presentation. However, the crab legs seemed to have cooled significantly by the time they reached our table. They were still warm, not hot. Also, some of the accompaniment choices seemed a little contrived. This is likely a matter of personal preference but, was enough to keep it from a 5-star review in my opinion.
I love the food and our server was good but the table was dirty that we were seated at the other waiters or bus staff would walk back and forth and we could here them cussing to themselves about other customers. The bathroom was disgusting and i brought it to attention to one of the staff and when i went back at the end of our dinner nothing had been done. I just wish that they could step it up a bit. I love it here and hopefully they were just having a bad night. We will be back to see.
Pricey but food was really good, service was the same and the view was great. Kind of an upscale/fancy place but worth trying it.
Upscale pricey at the the top of Anchorage. Amazing views of all the mountain ranges in 360 degrees.
Great food, even better service and view. If you are looking for something on level, classy and expensive but worth it, you would go here. Great for groups also (private areas) and celebration of birthday or anniversaries.
Good
