We've got all the feddbacks of real people who are using the products and services of Caribou Family Restaurant (Restaurant) in the area close to Alaska.
At the present this business has a rating of 3.7 over 5 and that rating was based on 374 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is really good, and it is founded on a large number of scores, so we can think that the valuation is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their feddback when they are satisfied, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to set reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Family restaurant.
Very good food and friendly service. Great place to get a lunch and relax for a little bit. Prices seemed very reasonable.
Food was really good! Service kind of slow, but only one waitress at first. I would definitely eat there again.
Way to expensive for a family of 6.
It wasn't super good but I ate some good fries
Food was 3 outa 5. Service was 2 outa 5. Prices were outrageous for diner food. I’m from the Midwest, so maybe that’s just how it is up here, but I was shocked to see pancakes and a side for 15 bucks. Pancakes were ok, kinda appeared to be a frozen pancake that they reheat...but I’m not confident enough to say for sure they were. Sausage patty was very dry and over cooked, but it was huge. Never received a refill on my water glass. Waitress never returned to see if we were doing ok. Restaurant was not busy at all. Overall just a very below average to average experience. Wouldn’t come back if we return to Soldotna
They had really good service and they were very good
Quaint atmosphere. Expensive. Decent burgers. Salad bar was disappointing. About what I'd expect for a highway restaurant.
fun place the best Coffee I have had in Alaska.
Good service..OK food..
I had a cherry milkshake that was very yummy.
Excellent food large portions and really great atmosphere although the prices are a bit highs for the food but the quality and the amount you get more than makes up for it
Food was delicious. Service was extremely slow.
Breakfast buffet on Sunday is on point! Get the biscuits and ask for jam
Great waitress. Fantastic salad bar and the special prime rib salad on fresh bread was unbelievable!!!
Good food in a comfortable friendly atmosphere and the service was excellent. I recommend stopping by and checking it out.
I really like going to the Caribou for breakfast. They serve it all day and so I can have breakfast whenever I want to. Also they always keep my coffee cup full and I appreciate that.
Senior/kiddie menu cheese burger was good and big! And about the same price as a BM meal at McD's, but so much better. The owners are exceptionally friendly. There is good reason why the parking lot is full!
Food was great. A little expensive compared to restraints in the lower 48 but that is to be expected. Very friendly staff.
Good service but I felt the portions could have been bigger for the price. Need to keep their bread warm when served.
There's great waitresses and good food. Enjoyed the evening.
Great breakfast, open 24/7 as well which is super convenient.
Eat during the summer months because it's open 24 hours for the fishermen and tourists. For breakfast try the steak and over eazy eggs. Also try the grilled ham and cheese sandwich it's delicious. Plus the staff was very nice.
The patty melt was really delicious
Very nice place. Relaxed and friendly. Yum breakfast
Better than last year
Best biscuits and gravy in town
Good hearty food that is reasonable and the staff feels like family.
Good food, good portions, really good coffee.
The staff was openly arguing with each other over a number of different things out in front of customers. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional so we left.
After a beautiful weekend of dipnetting in the Kasilof, our party of 11 decided to skip making breakfast and stop in for food on our way back home. This was the wrong decision. Right when we walked in we were told there was not seating for our party, which is understandable and not an issue, so we split in 2 parties so they could accommodate us. We sat for about 10 minutes without menus, and were brought 5 glasses of water when there were 7 at our table. We waited another 15 to put our order in. Once our order was it was about 20 minutes before the food arrived, which wasn’t horrible. Upon delivering our food our waitress stopped to point at another customer a few tables away asked us if we watch TV, and “doesn’t that guy look like Dr. Phil” jaws dropped and dumbfounded we looked at her. One of our party members nodded so she’d continue handing out our food. Once she finished, we asked for silverware and she asked the host to get us some. She left and came back and we were told that they didn’t have any. I got up and walked to the salad bar and got us some spoons so we might be able to eat while our food was warm. Once they brought us forks, there were again only 5 forks for our party of 7, the other 2 got forks about 5 minutes later from an old creepy man (the owner?) that kept touching our friends shoulder. They food was decent. During our meal we heard remarks from various staff like “you can’t fit 7 people at this table, it isn’t rocket science” and “a table walked out on their $130 tab, but we have cameras.” Upon finishing our meal, we sat for 10-15 minutes with empty plates and no checks or waiters in sight. Finally the old creepy guy came with our checks (we split into 3 checks) which we promptly provided cards for. The guy came back about 10 minutes later with a tablet and one credit card, which was signed and he left for another 10 minutes. I got up to go find him so the other two could pay and he came over again, with only one card. I followed him to go get the other one so he would take another 10 minutes to retrieve the last card. My water was refilled once from a pitcher that was given to the table next to us for their own personal use. Three things that come to mind when I think of this place would be “hot-mess, sloppy, and time consuming.” PS the bathroom didn’t have toilet paper.
Always visit this place when I'm in Kenai! Fun atmosphere!
Great place to take your family, kid friendly and tabling isn't super crowded. Staff were able and willing to work around technical issues and input a personalized order. Food was good but not exceptional.
Great place for breakfast and family gatherings. Owners and staff are great
I should have believed the bad reviews. Ok food, but awful service. The absolute worst service I've ever experience in the US. Have been waiting for my check for 20 minutes. Food took even longer. Dreadful
Great place to eat, wonderful friendly service, great tasting food and fast! The waitresses are super friendly and great with the whole family. Good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Reasonable service, price consistant with local prices, friendly people.
This place has its quirks, but the staff is friendly and they’re great at the basics. We always get a good meal. My eggs and pancakes or French toast are always cooked perfectly. Tastes best after a long morning fishing!
Open 24-hours during Summer -- Great for burning the Midnight Oil in Land of The Nearly Midnight Sun!
Staff hardly said a word to me and service was beyond slow. Waited 35 minutes for my order which was super simple. (Biscuits and Gravy). Food was ok. Staff was very rude and pretty much gave me the cold shoulder when i asked for anything like cream for my coffee. Not impressed one bit
Best greasy spoon diner in Soldotna and service is good to very good. Some quirky staff members, but the food is consistent. Update: I tried the club sandwich and am impressed, best club sandwich I have ever eaten.
Enjoyed their salad bar. Their prime rib was another story. Aprox 1/2" thick, over cooked, one end was 1/2" × 3" × 4" of 100% fat & no seasoning whatsoever. BTW we ordered the fatty end, but this was not an end cut, just fat! We'll never find a cut like The Turtle Club served. Another thing we miss about Fairbanks.
Great food and staff
The server was awesome. Unfortunately the food was anything but. It was served cold and well past its prime. The prime rib special was a terrible cut of meat and was not well seasoned, tough and I suspect left in the freezer a few months too long. The cheeseburger was rubbery and the cheese not melted. The salad bar was half-heartedly stocked. The soups were decent. I wish I could give a better review.
The burger was overcooked fries werent done still hard menu way over priced for not good food or service i do not recommend
Not sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait. There wasn't an indication either way. Food was greasy.
Great breakfast, wonderfully quirky staff. Make sure you get the caribou and reindeer sausage!
Reasonable food and prices.
They had a yummy spred for mothers day
The Caribou received a 100 percent up front on an surprised inspection and a 98 percent on this inspection for the cooks and prep cook area. Come on in and everyone is welcome. ❤️
Great place to try raider sausage, great family restaurant awesome customer service and great fried chicken!!!
Great family style restaurant. Reasonable prices, good food. If you order breakfast I'd highly recommend the home fries. They are not the usual deep fried chunks of flavorless potatoes.
Excellent service, great breakfast
Great food!
we had an amazing waitress she was super kind and sweet and their food is amazing it taste homemade which probably it is it's sweet it's so good there's a soup called almond soup it's delicious and they have lemon cake and it's delicious too sweet and tangy I rated a five-star because it their food is delicious and they're waitresses are so kind
Enjoy the staff & the food
Good food, slow service
We went to Caribou not sure what to expect. The sign on the door said, "This will be smoke-free as of October 18." Amazingly, the place didn't smell of smoke. However, the interior is dated and a little grungy. My friend and I shared a plate for breakfast. The food was excellent despite the cons about the place.
Best coffee, biscuits gravy, hashbrowns and eggs I ever had. Owners working with staff and serving customers with best freindly service.
The food we ordered was very good. The roast beef! We had local attraction.
Fun visit with family good food.
This is the first time I've ever had a problem here. My ribeye was cold and not completely cooked all the way. The potatoes were but the gravy was hot. It almost started it's own weather pattern.
Food is nothing special, but it is ok. Service was rather spotty and we had to find our waitress a few times. Not a place to seek out, but ok in a pinch.
Junk! Got seated, had to ask for menus after 10 minutes. Seen more people come in, get seated, get their order taken and get their food. Meanwhile, 25-30 minutes go by, 2 waitresses tell us someone will be by to take our order shortly, all the while, we sit with our menus stacked, waitresses walk by and take other people's orders and ignore us. Finally got up and walked out. Eaten here before with similar results. Place is JUNK! Won't go back again.
Food was cold and sloppily presented. Service was substandard. I used to love coming in..but now it's ad if they just don't care.
Love this place! Always clean and I never have issues with staff. French toast is my favorite and go-to...
At the busiest time of year they only had one waitress and one helper. They did their best but the food was basically a frozen dinner. I'll be skipping this place on my next visit.
Lived here over 5 years. Heard bad things in the past, but decided to give it a shot. Food was very good.
Excellent food and great service. Just like being at home
They have a very good Brunch on Sunday. Lots of items to choose from and all you can eat
Great food and service
Good food and great service. Waitress was awesome!
Beautiful Resteraunt gave it 2 trys and wont ever go again The 1 star is for the nice things to look at as for the food or even the coffee skip this place
Love this place!!! Huge glasses for sodas best Philly steak sandwich ever!!! Highly recommended and there are historical pictures on the wall that are just amazing!!
We ordered the $26.95 prime rib special. It comes with a soup and a trip to the salad bar. The meat was too tough to chew and the tater tots tasted like the grease was old. When we complained and refused the meal, they still charged us $16.95 for the cup, (not bowl) of soup and small plate of salad and 2 cups of coffee. The manager actually came out and agreed the meat was terrible. No, we won't be back. I used to wait tables, and the policy was ALWAYS to cancel the entire price of the meal.
The greatest waitress! Love to share their lives with you and their love of their customers! Goid food too!
Every time in Sterling must stop for the experience but server different every time are not good at all.
The best sour dough pancakes ever!
The place is nice with an old style atmosphere. The service is good and the people working there are personable and attentive. The food is fine if you like deep fried stuff. Not the healthiest choices though.
