Amazing food with great flavor!
Good indian restaurent in Ancourage
Excellent spice and food portions, somewhat tired booths and tables, but still a really good dining experience. It is the food you will go back for, anyway!
The lunch buffet has great tasting food, and make a it easy to grab a quick bite when you don't necessarily have time to lolligag.
It was alright. Wish they had a better buffet selection. Very small buffet
After a long 5 days of travel in Alaska, troops were craving for Indian food. We were flying back from Anchorage so thought this to be our place to eat. The gravies were watery, the Gulab Jamun in dessert was tasteless. Though Mango Kulfi was good. But it was too expensive for the taste they provide. Also the seating space was very cramped.
Great food! Excellant Restaurant, outdated decor but worth the visit.
The interiors were extremely old and dusty and unwelcoming. The dishes and silverware was greasy and the food was just ok.. I even had a little stomachache afterwards so wouldn't recommend this place at all..
Best Indian food in Anchorage. Hands down. Their lunch buffet is also an excellent choice for lunch.
LOVE Bombay Deluxe. The food is wonderful and everyone who works there is so friendly. I always refer friends here and brought my family when they were in town. Great place.
No Chai tea at this Indian restaurant....What?? It's 15 degrees outside. Come on man. Food was good and customer service was good.
First visit, great experience! The food was amazing!
Delicious and filling. Prices seem high but I feel they are fair considering portion size and the home made food.
I only get the chicken tikka masala, veggie samosas and garlic naan. It's always awesome and the service is friendly enough.
Average buffet with decent choices. Not many kinda restaurants in Anchorage, glad this one is around.
I stopped here for lunch with a friend. We couldn't decide what to get, so we went with the buffet bar. We got to sample a lot of different foods. Traditional Indian food and seasonings. Quite delicious. And next door you can stop in to the little Korean market and find some really cool treats not available anywhere else.
Its good food and service..
Food taste inconsistent
Great food.
Fantastic Indian food, good curry, and a friendly wait staff make this place good. But the dog friendly patio makes it great to visit.
I’ve never received such poor treatment at a restaurant! I actually looked forward to eating here since I love Indian food and wanted to see what Alaska had to offer. A server named Rita left us waiting while she took the order of a white couple who came in after us. When I questioned her reasoning behind this, she said they had two people, and we had three. I asked to speak with a manager and she replied that there wasn’t one available. We left immediately. The white man apologized for her actions.
Amazing food and staff
Yummy food and friendly service!
Was wanting to eat there for the longest time because my husband is punjabi and food there is wonderful. Was very disappointed in Bombay Deluxe because it didnt taste anything like Indian food that I had. Would not recommend this place to anyone who wanted Indian food. Sorry
Food and service was good, $$$
First time there, food and service were pretty good.
Great tasting food with a blend of right spices. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy good Indian food. Not too bland and boring though they can temper it down for people wanting low spicy food. The servings are quite generous, curry comes with an accompaniment of white rice. It has a nice rustic settings, loved the interiors. There is ample parking in front of the restaurant.
The Samusa is not upto the mark. Roti is ok The side dish despite our telling to apply less mirch , they do not listen .
Fantastic place for a quick, quality lunch. The buffet is delicious and has a great sampling of Indian cuisine.
Service awesome! Food is the best! Haven't been disappointed yet! Fresh and so good!
We are a group of 11,who were in the state for a week and more. We had explored many restaurants ,and have some very good experiences with many .but Bombay deluxe, I would term it as the poorest. Right from the waitress behavior to the foods quality everything was poor.nothing seems to be welcoming. We tried their lunch buffet for which they took 14.95 on week days. The meat (chicken curry and tandoor chicken) was stale ,so was the palak . They had limited options. The only good item was the mushroom soup and a carrot salad, If you’re in the city on a visit don’t choose this place to ruin your Taste. I wish I could give them a zero as rating.
Fantastic
Great place for your Indian food fix. Buffet is reasonably priced and has a decent selection of dishes to fill most folks cravings. Lots of vegetarian options but some savory, meaty ones as well.
Very good food, lovely staff who are extremely attentive, very authentic atmosphere.
The food seemed old. Service was not so good.
Food is very good and tasty! Everything we ordered did not disappoint. Staff is friendly and one thing I noticed which I do like is their menus were clean, with no dirty finger marks or food splashes. Water tasted good also, did not have chlorine aftertaste. Will definitely be back.
Great Indian food at a fantastic price. I prefer Bombay to the other Indian places in town. Staff is friendly and professional!
Great food quiet dinner place
Food here was so good I couldn't stop eatting it even though my mouth was on fire and I was full. Love that they have show Indian T.V. server was very pleasant.
Ordered veg thali, wasnt good at all..., Not tasty at all...
Busy resturant, but always a pleasure to order a take out meal or dine in ... Thank you so much ... Sooo Yummy
Decent food high prices
The worst place and I didn't even eat here... Just waited for 20minutes, got rude replies and saw a couple of other customers complain about the food coming out extremely late and left.
generally very good, even the lunch buffet that is kept pretty fresh and very reasonable, though spiced for the crowd and not normal heat levels
Loved it! The food was filled with the right combination of spices and the staff was very attentive.
Wonderfully spiced foods and good customer service. We can't get enough of their curried lentils!
Awesome buffet
Rock solid, as always! You really can't go wrong with anything you order off of the menu or grab off of the buffet. I also love their iced tea!
Decent food! Probably the only Indian restaurant open around Anchorage on Sundays. Do not have high expectations when you visit this restaurant. Cons: Expect long wait times. When the restaurant is full, you order some desert here, they straight away say NO, and then you ask another waitress for the same dish, she brings it in. Beware when you say extra spicy ! It's freaking hot.
I am not sure how this restaurant got an average of 4*. To start with, service is modestly pathetic. The whole staff is confused, including the one who seemed like owner (as he was running around in shorts here & there). Coming to food, it cannot be called authentic Indian food. Among other dishes, the most mention worthy was their biryani which had unblended white rice not mixed well with rest of the biryani. Finally, the cost is so high for such small quantities. I spent almost $70 for just three dishes. Never again.
I liked this place because it has a variety of thing and there yogurt drinks are the bomb but im kinda picky but I'm sure that lots of you other people may like it!!!!!!
I wish I could give 0. Don’t come to this restaurant , thinking you are having Indian food . Service is slow , you have to wait more than 45 minutes for food .and this restaurant sells disgusting Items in name or Indian dishes
I was wholly unimpressed with the lunch buffet, but I've ordered takeout from here many times and it's always good.
Wasn't impressed at all. Food is missing flavor, spices!( perhaps they can import them from Bombay?). Wouldn't go back!
Good buffet, lots of veggie options. The vegetable Korma is a sweet one, but very tasty. Bathrooms are clean and has a changing table (at least in the ladies room).
Good flavor and service.
The waiter was polite n friendly but the service was extremely slow. They did not have basic item like raita n substituted it with very sour yogurt which was barely edible ( for which they charged the same price as raita, but later, upon asking they took it off the bill). The food was not as tasty as some of the reviews claimed.. I preferred Namaste Sangria la better than this place.
Pretty old place and needs renovation
Long waiting and the restaurant was so hot inside that I almost fainted
A very cool place good food not may options for the buffet tho
Food is good & the lunch buffet is a good deal too. Recommend stopping by here to eat if you haven't yet. -- If you are unfortunate enough to have the genetics that makes cilantro taste horrible (e.g. like soap), be careful about ordering from here. It is hit or miss if cilantro will be left out of your food if you request it. Now, if you love cilantro then you have no worries!! 3 stars due to several order mistakes over multiple visits. Food is good enough that we still go back!
Customer service is very slow. Chicken Biryani doesn’t taste as biryani at all. The table didn’t have folks and spoons and we had to specifically ask for it. Food was not pleasant at all.
Waitress was one of the best I have seen load's of manners, very cheap for really good food
Delicious Indian food in Anchorage. Service is a bit slow, but the food is worth the wait.
Great food, quick service, and a quaint little restaurant tucked away in midtown Anchorage.
Surprisingly good Indian food. I loved the lamb curry. Good with both rice and naan. The paneer tikka masala was not bad - gravy was good, but the paneer was not grilled (not really tikka). Service was good. Atmosphere was quite but nice. Overall, my favorite Indian restaurant in Alaska.
To all indian food lovers. Go there!
Okay for vegetarians. Seems good for non-veg lovers.
They have an entire vegan menu! That's amazing! And the food was delicious! Servers seemed kind of annoyed at our ignorance on Indian food though. And I was severely disappointed to see that they use styrofoam to-go containers. That stuff is so much harder on the environment than cardboard. :(
I had delivery to the Quality Inn. the food is fresh. So happy with my purchase. Such good customer service..Thank You
Best Indian food in town with great atmosphere! Love the lamb curry
Best Indian food in Anchorage. Not the best I've ever had but definitely the best in Anchorage. I thought the service was awesome and the ingredients were fresh. I will be back!
Just go to Nameste Shangrila, food is still just as good but a bit cheaper. Not a fan of spending almost twice as much money for the same food.
I would give 5 stars for the delicious food, but prices have steadily increased for the last few years, and are now quite high. Delivery service is nice. Lunch buffet is a good way to try something you wouldn't normally order.
Picked up the biryani for our Trip to anchorage. It tasted bad, bland with little vegetables and had no salt in it. Looking at the price I will give them the 2 stars.
Good old place for desi food but very narrow inside.
I love their shrimp bhuna masala. Being an indian if you get flavors of india its such an awesome feeling. One must also try the samosa, raita and papad.
Too good. Nice preparations and good portions. Awesome taste and good service. Love this place.
Good food... But be careful about your desired level of spiciness... We ordered "medium", just like every other Indian restaurant, but we were barely able to eat it, without gulping down gallons of water!!!
The food tastes alright and the employees are friendly and welcoming. I got the shrimp Beryani and it has only 6 shrimp and rice enough for at least 3 people. A bit too much for $20.
Not flavorful at all. Even my order of hot spice level was mild. Don't waste your money.
Horrible buffet. Loved the Indian restaurant in chicago. This one however I will never go back. Big thumbs down. Website days buffet is till 3. Well that also lies.
My husband and I eat at Bombay Deluxe regularly and now there is Bombay South we have enjoyed the food there too. After a long day it is awesome to be greeted by friendly faces and relaxing atmosphere and to watch the videos. I cannot wait until South has videos to relax and eat to as well.
All the chicken was over cooked. They should use thighs. They don't over cook. The prices were high and the food was mediocre. Try somewhere else!
Very nice waitress we got the buffet. The facilities are a little run down. But welcome to Anchorage.
This is a bench mark Indian food experience for Anchorage. The dinner menu includes all the classics and there product is consistently good. What I discovered today was the very affordable lunch buffet! Unbeatable for the price. Service was prompt and professional. The booths are well worn but tall, allowing for privacy. A great place for a lunch meeting!
I recently moved here from Houston Texas where there was a very large community and a large culture that serves this kind of food I had the hardest time finding some but this is absolutely amazing the best food I've had out here yet
Loved the buffet. First time eating Indian food. I am picky and very bland eater. But, I really loved the food here. I tried a little of each item and could not believe the flavor profiles! I thought Indian food would be too spicy. The items marked spicy are as with any cultures food. But, I want to go back again today. I prefer fruits and veggies and it seems like not much variety offered with my diet choice. I found a tasteful solution here.
Incredible Indian food, so happy I tried it. Service is a bit slow, but worth every second!
Excellent food! First impression looks a little dingy but don't let that scare you away. The food is flavorful and there's a good quantity. At lunch they have a buffet as well. Service is great and I see a lot of Indians come here so I'm assuming it's authentic, although I've never been to India so I can't verify that.
We ordered veg pakora to go... it was the worst pokora we have ever had. We felt we would have prepared better pakora...
Nice atmosphere. I liked the tall booths and the Indian tv was fun to watch. The service was a little slow but well worth the wait. The kabobs were delicious.
Friend and i went here for lunch. I am not a fan of Indian food..I was surprised how good this was. Giveit a try..Don't pass it by.
I had the lunch buffet. The rice tasted a bit off and the chicken in the chicken curry was VERY dry, but the Saag was good and the service was fine.
Food on the buffet was a bit cold and stale. The chicken and lamb however were good quality meats and cooked well. Flavor was a bit lacking.
This is our first visit to Bombay Deluxe, I promise it's not the last! Everything is Awesome! Service is perfec t. Just a great dinning experience
Great time great food
Very delicious Indian food. A little in the spendy side but worth it. Do NOT even go there if you are on a diet.
I had the palek paneer and my husband the lamb korma. Both were delicious. I strongly recommend.
Good consistent food, inconsistent but friendly service
It was okay
Best Indian restaurant in Anchorage. Anchorage has great food and this place it one that upholds that standard of good food and great customer service. I would give it another star if it was a little cheaper, but I'm not complaining because the food is so good. The buffet on the week days is a really good deal. Don't forget the Mango lasi!
An Anchorage favorite. The buffet is yummy and fast
Visiting from Florida. Looked for an Indian food restaurant online. Saw the reviews and decided to visit. Meanwhile as we were waiting for Uber, 2 locals said it had great food. Excellent authentic cuisine! Super clean restaurant. The staff was friendly and explained everything about the menu. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!!!
Delicious food!
Can't find amazing food like this anywhere else. Whenever I'm in town I make sure to stop in!
Buffet is good value for money. If you don't like sweet avoid vegetable that has white gravy it is likely to be sweet in taste. If you don't like spicy food avoid red gravy vegetables. If you want to have medium spicy chose yellowish gravy
Quick service, decent Indian food!
We visited this place with great expectation . Appetizers were fine . Bread basket was horrible . Naan bread not cooked well at all . It was not hot either . Barely like warm . Soggy in mouth . Could not eat . Paneer was breakfast ok . Not much flavor . Quite oily . No Indian chai either . Sorry guys . It was a complete miss for us .
Wonderful food and friendly employees made it a great experience
Absolutely amazing flavor and great staff!
Very good Indian food at Alaska. Try vegetarian Korma which is the best here.
Tomato soup was too sweet. Curries weren’t fresh either.
My favorite place to get Tikka Masala. Keep your eyes open though folks, the building has been shut down for structural damage.
Had the buffet, the food tasted great and was fresh. The service was great as well. Plates were cleared from the table nearly as soon as I cleared the food from them myself. Loved the atmosphere. We will return.
Was good but there wasn't much options of food to choose from
Delicious! I would do the buffet if so you have all of the different choices, however I would order a fresh order of that delicious flat bread they make for dipping. No substitute for the fresh stuff. Wonderful decor, a few outside seats and great service. The smells alone make me hungry!
Great food. The lunch buffet is an excellent deal and a great way to try different things. Buying entrees separately is pretty pricey and the beers are expensive as well. I will only come here for lunch from now on. Unfortunately the booth chairs are uncomfortable and the booth tables are permanently sticky and they could use an updating. Service is good and they are attentive. Overall the food is worth repeat visits.
I went during lunch, foods good, not too expensive
The lunch buffet is awesome! Great service too!
Awesome food and awesome service.!
Fast friendly service. Food was fresh and delicious
Tiki marsala Friday lunch buffet is the best thing!
50/50 carry out or dine in for me. The lunch buffet is a bargain. The food is consistently prepared the same. You can get any degree of spice you want. The chiken tikka marsala is one of my favorites.
I ordered the chicken Tikka masala with a side of naan and it was delicious! I asked them to make it spicy and the heat wasn't too bad. I was very pleased with the service I received from the entire wait staff at the restaurant. They were all very friendly, outgoing, and observant if your in the mood for Indian food, I would highly recommend Bombay Deluxe Indian Restaurant.
Friendly staff, kids enjoyed the food. Good lunch buffet.
Worst Indian food I ever had in my life. Served after 1 hours.
Really enjoyed this meal (ordered the chef's special) and food quality was high. The experience was let down by a only semi-attentive server, generally simple/poor food presentation and utensils. Was upset when I received my ice cream to take away and ended up with a micro container that was probably a third of a scoop of ice cream.. That was a disappointing end to an otherwise great meal.
Terrible food, can't be considered authentic, and hardly any for $115. EXTREMELY bland... and we're white. Also, every vegetarian dish contains cream for no reason, generally indian food does not have cream in every dish.
Inconsistent food quality and service. Had a good experience on one day, and an absolutely terrible experience just two days later
Great food. Relaxed environment.
Great place for lunch. We got there around 12:20 pm and it was starting to get very busy. Nice selection of food, and as far as buffets go the food was at the correct temperatures. Very hot. The spice level is mild and all the food was seasoned very well without being over salted. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys India and its cuisine's.
Tasty food. Good quality. Meat was tender. Sauce was mild as ordered. Love this place.
The food was awesome! Love the choices and the staff explained anything I asked about. The female that helped up was a darling!
The most authentic Indian food, and atmosphere. They have Bollywood music videos playing in the background, and excellent delivery service
I have been there few times. The restaurant is clean they always have buffet, the food is well cooked, the staff are nice and it is cheap. They also serve halal items; i asked once and the chef came and told me which items are halal and which are not. On the other hand the food is not spicy enough it is less than mild. I wish they would make it spicier.
Good food! Our first time to try indian food and we liked it. They also have a very good customer service.
The best Indian food in town! We've loved everything we've tried.
Great food. They have a vegan menu, just ask.
I generally don't care to review places, but Bombay deserves it. The parking is bad but not their fault. Food is a bit expensive, but I feel worth it.
Love this place. Was my first time going there and would most definitely go back again.
We had the buffet. Most was ok.The rice pudding smelled and tasted like pinesol.
Ordered take out. Food was great and the portion size was huge.
We went there the staff was nice and helpful. The food was amazing I hope to go back again when we can.
Was good if you like chili food
Try the buffet....reasonably priced, saves time, supper yummy!
Delicious food!
Beautifully decorated interior with a Modern Vibe
the food here is delicious. I got the chicken tiki masala and loved it. the food was a lot we took a lot home. service was ok a little confusing because they didnt really have a server and it seemed the hostess was doing everything.
I had a very bad experience today at this place. Do not order buttermilk or lassi at this place. We ordered medium spicy, veg biryani is very spice and raitha is very salty & not good at all. When we ordered lassi that tastes exactly like raitha and very bad. We had very bad experience & when we suggest/advice them, they are not in a position to receive or listen. Anyway too busy time, hope they will change for betterment.
I love this place! The Chicken Tikka Masala is my favorite entree, and I also love having Naan bread when I go there. They also have waifer-like items (I am sorry that I cannot remember the name) that are great with a dipping sauce.
Ordered food for pickup (Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, and Garlic Naan). The server who took my order was very polite, and the food was hot and ready when I arrived. No problems with the service. The food however was very disappointing. Both chicken dished were overcooked and rubbery. I can usually get over that and just enjoy the flavor, but its like these dishes were prepared days ago. Even the Naan was bland and mushy. However. The restaurant was full of happy customers, and most of the reviews are very positive. Maybe it was a bad day, or I should try dinning at the restaurant instead of taking it out. If this was just a bad day, it was a VERY bad day.
Really nice food. Enjoyed Daal Makhani, rice, aaloo Paratha, raita. Much much better than Namaste Shangrila. Visit this place for better Indian food.
Food was pretty good.
Excellent place for Indian food in Anchorage. The lunch buffet was amazing.
Great food, kind staff. Enjoyable experience.
Delicious and fun. Great for takeout too!
I love this place, food is so good every time. Nice atmosphere, I like the Bollywood type of music videos they have playing. Heat customer service as well.
