Best Alaska dining experience. Locally owned, and ran with their employees and customers in mind. Location is perfect no matter the weather. There's a beautiful creek just outside that you can sit by surrounded by flowers in the summer or view from inside during the winter. Food is delicious, they don't cut corners or compromise quality. I'm sad to say that the owner has recently passed away, but it appears that his family plans to continue the business as he was. That is definitely my hope.

Went there for the first time today. Was highly disappointed. I had heard great things about them. I had the French dip. The meat had zero flavor. The aus jus looked and tasted like hamburger grease. It was a big let down. I might consider possibly going there again and giving a burger a try. But the French dip is off the menu. And thats one of my favorite meals.

This is a great place to get a bite with friends. I've gone here many times over the years and honestly it is about the most pleasantly consistent place to eat. The only downside is they only take cash, but do have an ATM. It even has amazing views of Campbell Creek with outside seating!!

Really cool to eat a proper hamburger patty at a fast food place. The fries are awesome, and they have all the fixins yo top off your burger. Seating is available right on Campbell Creek where you can sip on your milkshake and watch the salmon swim upstream. A proper all-American burger joint.

The regional decor is amazing. Nicely matted photos of people who live here and frequent the place are all over the walls. Trophy fishing and hunting photos all over the place including the ceilings in some parts. Very impressive as you can see by the pictures. My cheeseburger was very big and tasty.

We went there on out way to Denali as our taxi driver recommended it highly. Place has lot of history. The burgers were very juicy but i felt they are very salty to my taste. None in the group felt they are great but they were ok. Salad they gave with the chicken sandwich was good. Onions rings were just burnt pieces of onion. Little disappointed after all the hype.

This is a cash only establishment which is a pain in this day in age, where card readers are so easily available... The ATM has a $2.75 surcharge... The burgers are homemade. My burger was dark pink in the middle, but was okay, the homemade onion "straws" were greasy and awkwardly breaded.

The decor is awesome, cool view of the River. But the food is disgusting and THERE WERE FLIES EVERYWHERE. The window sill I sat next to had dust in the cracks and dead bugs all over. Waste of 20$ if you ask me. Their French dip was bland, fries were burnt, overall terrible experience. The only thing decent about this place was the sweet counter girl. Would not recommend

I really enjoyed Arctic Roadrunner so much I've been back three times so far. And I'm not alone. There walls are full of pictures and stories of loyal customers that have been coming back for years. I love the decor too. Around each corner is a new adventure to discover. The first time I visited I took advantage of the outdoor seating along side the brook that passes gracefully by. It adds sights and sounds that we all could enjoy. I will be back soon to put a smile again on my face as I enjoy all the flavors that you have to offer.

Great Hamburgers... cozy fireplace to sit next to in the winter and a creek to sit next to in the summer. You do have to pay cash, but they have an atm inside just in case!

Very popular place but I feel it's overrated. I had a traditional burger it was good but nothing special. I felt the milkshakes were a good value. Our fries weren't added to our order so we had to go back. Remember to carry cash because that is all they take, which is hard to have on hand if you are from out of town.

Local landmark. Even if you're only in Anchorage for a week, you have to go. The burgers, fries, and everything else are consistently excellent. In the summer you can eat right down by the river but you might want to stay inside and look at all the fun pictures submitted by loyal customers.

Artic Roadrunner is arguably the best or second best burger in town. It is cash only. The burgers are good the fries and the nice thick kind. The shakes are also probably some of the best in town. The decor is interesting Alaska stuff which is entertaining. The service is very fast and very friendly. You can get a table inside and look over the river. The outdoor seating is also next to the river. If people are floating the river you can totally make then jealous of your yummy food.

Finally gave this place a shot. Not sure what all the Hub-bub is about. First and probably only time. Dirty everything. Food pickup was nearly a disaster. Called our number, seen 3 trays of food sitting together, so took all three. Only once at our table, did we realize we inadvertently grabbed another order. Visited on advice from a friend. Burger was a little dry, cooked too well-done, but tasty. Fries were perfect. Sat outside because the weather was great. Lots of outside seating. Creekside was a nice treat. Cash and Pepsi products only. On-site ATM, but you'll have to be creative if you want a Coca-cola.

Great food and service. A must go to anyone, at least once. They are still kinda old school and only take cash, but if you forget to bring some, they do have an atm. There is seating inside and outside by the creek and tons of Alaskan history on their walls.

Burger patty was half size of bun. Asked to make sure they didn't accidentally give me a kids patty, and they confirmed my tiny patty was correct. So basically you are eating mostly bread with a little meat. Cant recommend this place. Not worth the price for what you get.

Waited in line for ten minutes. Got to the cashier and saw a sign that said cash only. I never saw any signs prior. They had an atm but I was not going to stand in line as it was longer due to lunch rush. It's 2019 they should take card or at least add multiple signs before the cashier.

This hamburger restaurant is piece of Anchorage diner history. The setting is soothing and enjoyable, not typically found in a hamburger joint. The walls are covered in photographs & storied descriptions of many long time patrons of this establishment and its connection to Anchorage. There is a wood burning fireplace that helps add to the ambiance of the dine-in experience. The menu is straight forward comfort food. Arctic Burgers are the staple menu item and delicious, reminding me of burgers from my youth. They are a value, in Achorage, at ~ 7$ [11/2018] for a hand made, well seasoned 1/4 Lb. hamburger patty. The fries appear to be hand cut too, and the homemade onion ring, though a little greasy, are delicious. The fixings bar included hot pickles (really good), dill pickles, onions, salsa (homemade) & more. The Soda fountain is nearby, and all you can drink! I will be adding this location to my list of favorites.

A must stop in Anchorage for any fan of burgers and fried onions. I strongly recommend the Halibut or Salmon burgers (in that order) with the fried fresh onion pieces...though the onion rings are amazing too. There are numerous framed photos representing a "rogue's gallery" of old school Alaskan personalities seemingly mostly comprised of folks who arrived in Alaska in the 60s & 70s. Eat outside by the adjacent creek to be entertained by local ducks & geese.

This is Alaskas original burger joint. Eating a burger here is being surrounded by Alaskan history. The food is great also and it is always consistantly good. The service is fast and freindly and there is a great view with lots of pictures of Alaskans loving Alaska. I highly recomend going here if you want a good burger.
