REVIEWS OF 49th State Brewing Co - Anchorage IN Alaska

David Bresky

Had a great meal, been wanting to try it for a long time. Had some friends from out of state visiting so decided to go for it. Wish we had tried a long time ago! Service was very friendly, a bit slow but not bad. We had cauliflower, wings, pizza, nachos, and Ruben all great! Great selection of beer. We will definitely go back!

Denise Pearman

Worst dinner, service, and overall restaurant experience I have ever had. Zero stars would be a more accurate reflection of our experience as we kicked off our first evening of vacation. Line was out the door as we left. We must be missing something. They had run out of most of their beers. Only dark ales were available on a lovely summer evening. Our three pounds of crab legs were 4 sad looking legs. Bees swarmed our table. It was so awful the kids couldn’t sit for dinner. The Manager reduced our bill by $20. We left the 49th and had our second dinner. There have to be better options in Anchorage. Please find them and save yourself the misery.

Very busy, but great friendly staff. Food was amazing and nice sized portions! Hubby enjoyed the Flagship flight beer taster, while we nibbled on Yak- a -dilla as a starter which was so yummy. Either by yourself or sharing, it's a must have. Then we indulged in the King crabby grilled cheese with fries and mini chowder for dipping.

Jeff Crouch

Great service and creative and delicious food. Try the root beer or the blueberry cream soda, they're both excellent!

Jason Huffman

Great food, drink and atmosphere. Staff was wonderful.

Christine Kulumani

Nice brewery with multiple floors and a roof deck. In addition to beer, they serve (but don't ferment their own) cider. The food menu is sufficient without being too long. Many items can accommodate dietary restrictions such as gluten intolerance/ celiac disease, vegetarian, no dairy, etc.

Shirley Lui

Got the King crabby grilled cheese, but its pretty much mostly imitation crab...very disappointed. dont order it. Seafood chowder was good tho and nice open deck on sunny day.

Jennifer Ng'andu

Decent food and lots of fun beer, some of the best in the city. The only thing that is not great about this place is that they have oodles of tables and make you wait. It feels like a ploy to get you to buy more -- or that they don't have enough wait staff in the height of summer. Food was good but mostly not memorable. Go and try a bunch of beer.

Breanna Cobiskey

Great place to get a bite to eat. It was a great atmosphere. You can sit at the bar area or help yourself to the 2nd floor. Friendly staff. They had great beer!

Robert Cox

Fantastic menu with multiple options for whatever mood you're in. I got the Halibut tacos which were fantastic. You only get 2 so if you are starving I'd recommend something else like the Yak burger which was massive. The place is huge with technically 3 floors. The views are pretty cool (unfortunately it's a shipping yard) but you can see mountains off in the distance. Their beers have been my favorite since being in Alaska. The outside section on the 2nd floor is cool because there are sectionals with fire pits in the middle for just having a drink or apps.

Conor O'Dowd

At 5pm Friday we were advised of a 50 minute wait, which turned into 2 hours due to a non-functioning buzzer. Have to say the time flew at the rooftop bar with Mike serving us one good beer after another. And the food is very good. A good night but if we’d been in a hurry it might have been different.

Zoanne Zapata

Great beer. Knowledganle wait staff. Good food. A little loud, but it's a bar!

Kendra Z

Went just after midnight, an hour before they close. Ordered a stone fire pizza and the pretzel from their late night menu. Both were delicious! Also had a large selection of liquors in addition to the beers, surprising as their name says "brewing company". I'm not a beer fan, and neither was the rest of my party, so it was a pleasant surprise. Their selection of liquors and prices change somewhat regularly, according to the bartender. Make sure you double check your bill in case the price listed is different than that on the drink list, as was the case for ours. The waiter happily and easily corrected it. The inside was a rustic modern, I'm, and I loved the fire in center of a few of the tables. From the street it looked like they have an outdoor upstairs patio that was quite lovely with a nice view. If it weren't so late and raining, would have liked to check it out. Promising! I definitely recommend the food and the old fashioned. If I lived close by I would definitely frequent this establishment. But I'll have to settle for the next trip I take to Alaska.

Patricia Raley

On the higher price side. They charged for a dipping sauce and didnt let us know. We went to the second of three floors and the views were wonderful!! Shade was a bit cool and they wouldn't let us move. Several unusual food choices. King crab cheese sandwich was delicious. There was plenty of food for another meal. Clam chowder was the white cream variety, but very subtle flavors.

Allison Chambers

Always a great place! My favorite fries in town. The open seating in the bar has always worked great for us. Would highly recommend.

Jillian Murphy

Enjoyed visiting this place with friends. We had the tuna nachos and a pretzel. Service was good for the most part, but they did charge us $5 for an extra side of beer cheese when we ran out and asked for more for the pretzel. That’s pretty steep for something served in the same tiny dish as a condiment like ketchup or mayo. Overall the atmosphere was lively and the drinks were good, would like to visit again for the food!

Edward McClung

This place is likely the best patio in Anchorage. Everything in AK costs more so expect food and service to be the same. Very good food and service here especially for the price. The menu covers all tastes (large and extensive USA style) so look specifically for something made with local protein. I would go here again and recommend it to others visiting Anchorage. Went here for my brother's birthday, the patio easily accommodatedv parties 6 people. Watching the sun set for the entire dinner is a neat experience.

Jordan Lowry

Came here on our first day in Anchorage with the family. Honestly, this place would have got a 4-5 star rating if they could improve their service. Atmosphere, food and beer is all great. However, they were absolutely terrible with service. We had to order drinks multiple times, and they still never came, condiments requested for meals never arrived. One of the members of our parties never received their meal and after everyone else had finished. The manager finally came up after about 4 times of the waiter forgetting to check on the food to see if there was anything they could, but at this point, we had to go and a member still hadn’t eaten. This is absolutely ridiculous and I have never experienced anything like this at which seems to be a classy brew. Overall we will not be back, due to how the situation was handled. They kept going wanting to offer us salads for the inconvenience. What a joke.

Beatrice Kovacs

We didn't plan our time long enough to enjoy our lunch so kitchen super cool to pack food to go. Still tasted delicious. Server was great.

Mike Swinson

Excellent excellent excellent food! The waitstaff is spot-on and the beers there are fantastic. They have a awesome viewing deck that is perfect when the weather is right. They are very neat clean and efficient. You will not be disappointed eating here.

Dennis Koutsoures

Almost chicken vegan tacos were excellent as was the chips and salsa. Beer was also good! Highly recommend stopping here should you find yourself in Anchorage!

Mark Stevenson

We went there on our vacation and had wonderful food and service - highly recommend!

J-D Robinson

Really great place and reasonably priced for the area. Great views, but the service was slow due to the high volumes they have. The food is great and the beer is certainly worth it

Brandon Musgrove

It was pretty good. I highly suggest you get there early in the evening. We got there about 5:15 and still waited for about 35 minutes to be seated this was on a Tuesday. By the time we left at 7:30, the wait was over 1.5 hours. The food was good, the beer was REALLY good. You won't be disappointed.

Douglas Lust

I'm just here on a temporary duty and I've been here twice. All I can say is the food is phenomenal. I had both the yak burger and the meat loaded mac n cheese and it was worth every penny. The just the tip brew they had was also great. Overall I've had a great experience. Make sure your reserve or you may be waiting for a minute.

Lindsey Paulson

Food, beer, and service was great! Their seafood chowder was some of the best I've ever had!

Lusiano Coronado

Great time. We are regulars that come here! What's great about this place is that they hook you up on your birthday if you sign up for the birthday club thing they offer! I got $25 off my order if I spend over $50!

Randy Weaver

My beer was good. I had the halibut cheeks and they were pretty good. Wife had philly but the meat was so over seasoned it ruined the sandwich. The rootbeer was awesome. I cannot say I would go back.

Kyle Lefler

Amazing! Great food, great drinks, and great staff. Ask for Kayla if you can. Such an amazing hostess and was always positive and very helpful no matter what question we asked. Deliciously fresh Farm to Fork food!

Sarah Israelson

Everything is so delicious here! Literally. I tried all the plates and many appetizers our table ordered and everything was delicious. Our waitress Kayla (with the boy haircut :-) was very friendly, helpful and recommended some great drinks and food options. Highly recommend. Will return when I come back to Anchorage. Halibut tacos and pizzas were amazing!

Nick Quinn

Very fun, authentic atmosphere with a great choice of beer and food. Would definitely triple chocolate mousse cake for dessert. ( I believe that is the correct name. )

Leslie Loewen

Great location and food. Very slow service, but not our server fault, Victor was great. Seemed like the number of people was too busy, but that shouldn't be given the size. Our group sat at the big outdoor patio and firepits - only one not working. Would give 5 stars, but just a little off. Will go back if ever there again. Gift shop items can be purchased on Amazon, so will order from there rather than risk the suitcase.

Ashley Eberhardt

Great place to go to eat and drink. Can be fancy or casual you choose! Upstairs is a more restaurant feel down stairs is more bar like. The salmon is off the charts!

Stephanie Sutila

Stopped here before heading to Whittier for our cruise. This place is a little touristy, very busy; but I still genuinely enjoyed everything about this brewery. Our bartender, Mark was extremely knowledgeable and seemed to really enjoy working there. The beer was great, crab grilled cheese was delicious as well as the pizza. The brewery focuses on supporting local entrepreneurs and artists as well as sustainability which is part of the reason we chose this place for dinner. Would go back again if I ever get back to Alaska

Bridget Coolick

Really nice sports bar with two outdoor patios with views of the water. The food was fantastic - I recommend the tuna nachos and crab legs. The service was excellent. We went on a Sunday, got there about 20 minutes after opening and it was already busy. Get there early if you want to sit outside without a long wait. Highly recommend this spot!

Richard Hepburn

Sat at the bar. Went in at 11. Had the Elk meatball with melted mozzarella and marinara.. Was Awesome. Also liked the seafood chowder that had chunks of Salomon and halibut. Be careful if the bar snack of Carmel popcorn laced, with jalapenos... Nice bit of

Sven Thiess

Ended up here because our flight to Valdez was canceled . Oh my god how happy that we found this place. Great ambiance, great feel. 11am in the morning and a line out of the door

Jennifer A

Good food but terrible service. After being seated it took over 20 minutes before the waiter even came to the table to take drink orders. We ordered drinks, an appetizer and our meals thinking things would go more smoothly but ended up waiting over 30 minutes on the appetizer and then another hour for food. Almost impossible to flag down a waiter for more drinks while waiting. It was busy, but not that busy.

Klaus Bellinghausen

One of the better places to go. Top deck galore, good food, light on the fish in the fish and chips, and everything else grear

Kessashun Arthur

This place has a huge multi-level dining area and outdoor seating on the rooftop (for the few nice-weather days in Anchorage). Nonetheless, you can expect it to be pretty busy most days. The beer selection is definitely a highlight with tons of good rotating options brewed in-house. They also serve up some pretty good appetizers (tuna nachos, Bavarian pretzel, and elk meatball are some of the highlights). The entrees are underwhelming. I would expect a much better salmon from an Alaskan restaurant, especially since they highlight it as "the best" on their menu. I hear the burgers are the better food options here, but I can't speak from my experience. If you're willing to wait a while, 49th State Brewing is a solid place to go for drinks and apps.

Samantha Dutton

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Anchorage! Delicious food and a great atmosphere. Plus, they have a lot of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options if you have dietary restrictions! You won’t regret stopping by if you’re in anchorage!

joanne enriquez

We went on a weekend day and received fast service. The Yak-adilla was delicious and would definitely come back again.

Daniel Nichols

Nice place. Make sure you get reservations. They have a fun fusion of comfort food and healthy food.

Jonathan Zack

Personally, they have lost the mentality they had when they opened. 3 years ago I would have given them 5 stars recent experiences I am disappointed. Food is good still, has a great view and you can also find fun events here such as fur rondy plays, trivia, and the skinny Raven run ends here sometimes. They don't offer any incentive for any of these events, no specials no small plate meals for the runners, no happy hour for the trivia. I don't get the homey feel, I once had here.

Alison Glaske

Amazing atmosphere, great food. This made the end of our vacation even harder!

Gerald Macy

We got a small pizza and a salad! It was one of the best pizzas we have had on a while. The beer was great and the service was fast and friendly. If we ever make it back to Anchorage we will stop in.

Michael Diehl

Just visiting but this brewery is a great time. Wonderful atmosphere, delicious beers and good looking food (I didn't have any but looks as good as any gastropub in the lower 48). If I am in the area again I will definitely stop by again. Seems busy though, so if you need a table on a weekend I recommend arriving early

Brent Forbush

Menu was excellent food was good. But we saw multiple tables served and leave before our order was taken. And then food to the table in shifts and not all at once. Know it is busy for solstice but profitability for restaruant comes in turning a table not letting us take a spot for 4 hours with turning the table

Mary Carroll

Fabulous selection of beers. The food is fresh and tasty. Great service. Mark the barman is very knowledgeable and good fun.

Finn Andreasen

Good food, staff was great. The place is a mad house. Its seat yourself and good luck type place that's typical with breweries but its downtown so people never leave. We were able to find a table and then slide into a larger table before our food showed up. The menu was typical for Anchorage and the pizzas were all specialty meats.

Kaela Schomaker

A loud, busy, fun atmosphere. The food was amazing! I love Mac and cheese and they had the best I have ever had, so so impressed!

Pit Vins

Great ambience. Downstairs a little noisy, but not too much. Excellent, friendly, and very competent service. Really great food, with local specials. Good, but not overwhelming selection of beers. On whiskeys it hard to beat their selection. A place to be recommended, definitely.

Janet Werner

The food is great! I had the Baja Steak Salad and my husband had the Buffalo Meatloaf Sandwich. The server, Kayla was pleasant and helpful when we were making our beer selection. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends headed to Anchorage.

Terrance Aldridge II

Really nice views if you are upstairs on the deck or near the windows! You can see the Port and also watch as the military flies it's patterns throughout the day! But the food was awesome! The pretzel and cheese was amazing! And burgers and chicken sandwiches were on point! Very nice job!!

Alexis Aponte

The Yak burger is pretty delicious. This place is super popular so I would plan some extra time for the wait. It's worth the wait.

Enrico Gasparini

Very good the choice of local draught and craft beers. Decent food and service is very kind.

Andrew K

Not fancy, just a family restaurant that sells really great food. Really fun and energetic atmosphere and really nice views of the water.

Monique Salazar

Great vibe! Great beer selection! George our bartender was awesome. This place provided fast and attentive service. Will be coming back!

Kaleb B

First time here (first time in Alaska too) and I didn't even eat, I left. Evidently there is a lack of communication between staff. I'm told the bar seating is open as well as the 3rd floor roof seating. The bar was full so I head to the top where I take a seat. I'm told by a guy the only place to self seat is the small, packed bar and the tables are on a wait list (contrary to the hostess statement). I go talk to the hostess on the first floor who again says it's self seating up top but other tables are a 30 min wait. I left.... I just wanted a freaking yak burger because this place and that particular item came recommended. Guess I will never know now...

Tiffany Marie

Expensive but some things in the menu is worth it. I ordered a salmon and like it well. My salmon skin was black. Wasnt good at all. The crab legs on the other hand was yummy

Debbie Miley

Great place. My daughter and I stopped by for a flight, before her flight the next morning. Fun atmosphere and nice people. Love the rooftop and the music.

Preston Edson

What a great dining venue and the most eclectic menus we found in Alaska. Great rooftop scene. Best dining we found in Anchorage

Bridget Baldauff

Good service. The rhubarb sour was yummy. But I don't appreciate the 5 dollar price tag for a sticker. I guess they don't want us to advertise.

Brett Blaisdell

Great food, excellent service and lots of Alaskan beer. Loved it.

Kelsey Brunner

Traveling from out of state and this place is a must! Great beer selection and delicious food! We sat inside (too hungry to wait for outside seating) and it was beautiful. Our waitress was also very helpful and kind (I wish I remembered her name but she had really cool tattoos). Planning on going back at least once while we're here, even to just get a tshirt!

NikkiAyanna DIBR

Everything was great. The service is just a little slower than you'd like, but the people and the food were awesome.

Jim Overturf

Nice place. Food was great. Took a while to get. We had a large group. We had reservations. It was close to our hotel. I recommend for the food and the view.

matt greenfelder

We enjoyed the Korean kimchi tacos (maybe too much mayo) and the Almost Chicken tacos. The service was fast, but unexpectedly so (the line was out the door and down the block the night before). The beer was good, but not to our tastes.

Justin Hill

Super long wait times, OK beer and I thought the burger was really mediocre. The meat wasn’t that great they just covered it up with onion rings and super sweet barbecue sauce. The fries had way too much seasoning. Took almost an hour for my Burger to come out after I ordered. The bar was so busy it’s tool almost 20 minutes to get our beers. Waitress was too busy to give us any attention. I just don’t know why anybody would choose to go here and battle long wait times and crowds for such mediocre food. Go somewhere else.

Steelerzgirl333

This was a great place. Very busy the day we went but we were able to eat outside on the rooftop bar. Drinks and food were both excellent.

Allen Helton

Amazing view, good beer, decent albiet expensive food. We had a great time, the avocado fries are pretty good. The servers are friendly and attentive. If you're here in the summer, you have to sit out on the rooftop!

Danielle Atherton

A little pricey, but definitely worth it! Amazing food and decent selection. The soft pretzel with cheese is the perfect app amount, halibut fish n chips is to die for, and the chocolate mousse cake is wonderful to share as a topper for the meal. Went there for my birthday and was not disappointed! And try the blueberry cream soda!!! Delicious!

Raymond Rifenburg

Absolutely fantastic. Nevena was an outstanding server. My special order meal was perfect!

Jia Hui Sim

Great view great vibe great menu! Try everything that you’ll hardly try outside Alaska! Like Yak burger, king crab on a toast! Lingcod fish n chip! Would love to try more and more different menu on alaskan ingredient! Never forget to order baked blonde! Great experience!

Pou Sila

The service was great, unfortunately I was very disappointed with what my party & I ordered, a high priced steak & a high priced halibut dish. Both orders were merely size of desert dish plates on huge round platter plates, with the main dish we ordered & mash potatoes, with no vegetables or maybe even rolls of some sort . Both dish we ordered we’re not flavorful at all. I had to poured lots of steak sauce on my steak just to get it flavorful. I’ve eaten better steaks at Shari’s or Denny’s for half of what I paid for at 49th Brewery. First time in the state of Alaska. 49th State a Brewery came highly recommended when we asked for recommendations for a good steak

Kim McLean

They have a good selection of beer with a delicious wheat and a great stout. The food was outstanding.

Connor Reynolds

What a great place. Growing up in Bend, I know a lot about breweries and this place definitely reminds me of home. Amazing staff and great food. THEY HAVE VEGAN OPTIONS! The impossible burger was delicious and they have a vast beer selection. I had the Far North by Northwest. They offer blankets when you sit outside and have a birthday special ($25 off your meal). Make sure you sign up online! They do collaboration brews with other PNW breweries, so I definitely suggest having one when you visit. Decent pricing for food made with local ingredients. Highly suggest getting there early. Wait time can be around 40 minutes, unless you have a party of 10 or more. If so, then you can make a reservation.

Whitney Young

Adam was our server and completely on top of everything from the moment we sat down! Excellent food, everyone ordered different items and everything was delicious! Highly recommend!

Nicholas Gallo

Pretty pricey. An average plate will cost 14-15 dollars which is not bad given Alaskan prices. I truly believe you won't be disappointed with the food. The service is not fantastic as they are almost always jam packed. However, I have never had a rude waiter/waitress. Drinks are about priced with big cities.

Rakshanda Visave

Our server was Tamara Ma'am and she was great with recommendations and service. Also the good was great. It's awesome to go here with your friends.. or loved ones ..

Joseph Pocher

Great food and drinks. We sat outside at the rooftop dining area. They even had loaner blankets as the evening cooled off.

Cory Stites

Good food with lots of good options as well. Plenty of good beer choices.

Nancy Huenergardt

I love that they have a gluten free pizza crust. Great portions, too, so I got a good two meals from it! Try their root beer!

Jedi McHam

Very good food and really good house brews! Check out the yak burger or crab grilled cheese from the menu. As for beer, you can't go wrong with any on the list.

Colin Martin

Large Menu with many outstanding features. Pricy what it is but worth it for the most part. Typically pretty busy, will only accept reservations for parties of more than 6. Ample patio space for a nice day, however I still would expect to wait for a table. Great selection of beer and cocktails as well. Touristy.

Michael Ham

Great beer and food, atmosphere looks great, is loud, but not unexpected for a place like this. Crab grilled cheese was outstanding, as was the seafood chowder. My wife had the scallop salad which was very good. We sat by the oven and pretty much everything coming out looked awesome.. Pizza was good too, so kids were happy.

Charne Ellis

I've eaten here multiple times over the years and everytime I eat here the food is always a 1/5. It's bland and the menu changes constantly. Okay, some of the dishes are good but it's certainly not spectacular nor is it worth the hour wait time. Each time that I go it's chaotic as they offer "open seating" so you have to fight to the death for a spot at a table. Why have "open seating" but then give people buzzers to wait when your employees are not gonna let you know when a table is actually ready? Kinda silly, so if you go you MUST make a reservation or forget it. But I've never once left this place saying,"I cant wait to go back" and I really want to like it because the employees are so wonderful and friendly, however the food does not make me want to go back. Sorry, I do not recommend.

Marius Pavel

We have tried their location in Denali actually and loved it so much that on our last day, before going to airport, we stopped to try the Anchorage location. Same great food and service. Recommended.

Connie Trinh

The ling cod fish and chips is AMAZING!!!! Must order item. This place is huge, with 2 floor if patio seating. Grab a seat here for the summer! Plenty of beers to choose from.

Robert Cutler

Corner of ingra and 5th. Good place to stop for snacks and gas. A bit hoody

Tom O

Nice selection of mico brews, especially the Imperial Sumatra. Had the Halibut Burger. Similar to a crab cake. Maybe a better choice would have been the Halibut and Chips. Prices initially appeared to be on the high side but ultimately seem like they are in line with most other establishments in downtown Anchorage.

Crystal Firestone

Overall pretty good place. My seat had a view of the water, and my entree, the scallops salad, was very good. Our appetizer was not, which were the crab stuffed jalapenos. Unfortunately they were well overcooked. Plated very well, just not tasty.

John Gibbs

Honestly, the yak burger isn't very good. I think they started cooking it while it was still a bit frozen. Looked cooked on the outside, but cold raw in the middle. They used too much oregano-even the bacon on the burger was covered in oregano. All of that said, everyone else at my table enjoyed their food. The drinks are great and it is a wonderful atmosphere. I'd write my burger down as a one-off and try again.

Adam Reiss

Laid back, Popular hangout, Never a dull moment. Been coming to this establishment for the past three weeks and needless to say this is my favorite go to Anchorage restaurant. Whether it’s with the family and a full meal or with the boys at the bar watching sports, you will find what you want here. So far my favorites have been the blue berry pie and the house cream soda a must if you go. The price may be a little high for outsiders and the wait for a table can be long during peak hours but I can tell you it’s well worth it.

Lori Peltier

My brother in law and his wonderful wife took us and their whole family here. It was so fabulous and the beer was great and they have a big variety to choose from. No complaints from anyone what so ever.

Steve Wilson

Halibut cove burger is terrific. Their draft beer selection not very good. They highlight fruit flavors and aromas. If hibiscus beer or citrus, is your thing, you'll enjoy it. View of water and city is nice, especially on the third floor. It stays busy.

bill cashin

Loved the food and the craft IPA. Great location and vibe right downtown. Awesome service all perfect.

Lea Rueter

907 Day specials was their Peak 3 burger for $9.07 (normally around $13) and a plastic Stein full of their lager (also $9.07). Pretty good! Had nachos with friends, pretzel is always soft and delicious. I enjoy their cocktails. Baja Steak Salad- tender steak chunks, excellent.

Lorraine Clausen

Service was great! Crab stuffed jalapeno poppers are tasty & quite spicy and the seafood chowder was delicious! Beautiful view too! Popular place, big bar area, two story with outdoor seating.

Cheska

Personable friendly staff. Real people. Professional but not fake robots. I hate fake robot staff.

mikaila Smiles

Slow service, good beer, not bad food

Mr. Brett Kirk

Beer was good. Ordered the fried avocado and was disappointed because the avocado was still frozen in the centers. Had to send back. My first time ever taking a bite into a frozen avocado. No bueno for a deep fried food. The sauce with the bites wasn't very good to me, as it did not pair well enough. Ahi Tuna bowl was very nice and appetizing to make up for that.

Katelyn Kramer

Great spot for a happy hour beer. We also attended a wedding dinner here and had a blast! 49th State did a great job with the food for the event - a taco bar.

Dana Feffer

Unfortunately, had a not so great experience. This place came recommended by friends. First, no wait staff was assigned to us we had to flag something down someone after sitting for 25 minutes, then they finally took our food order .. took a very long time... We had to ask where our food was... When the food came it was burnt and dry. And some of it missing. A manager came by once, we did get some of the meal comp'd but it was not a great experience. Maybe they were overwhelmed but it was too bad. From the glowing reviews we were really hopeful... Sadly ☹️ it was a disappointing experience.

Joe Barron

My wife and I went here a couple of times. Great service, wonderful setting and very good food. Both times we started with the pretzel with beer cheese sauce...sooo good! They also make their own root beer, amazing! Heavy on the vanilla and I love it that way. Can't wait to return. I also had the pulled pork sandwich with fries, good stuff.

Katherine Lewis

Great food and pretty good beer (just a matter of personal taste. Most love the beer). It's one the local favorites here in Anchorage. The outdoor seating is totally worth it, so grab a jacket and enjoy the world-class views of the ocean and the mountains while eating.

Daryl Brown

Place was super packed. Still managed to find seating. Food was good, portions were average size.

April Cui

The beer was good, and service was nice, but the food was subpar. I had something with king crab on it and it did not taste fresh. My husband got a steak which was full of fat and gristle. The rooftop bar overlooks a parking lot and shipping containers.

Patrick C

The beer was good but my wife had a BUG in her meal. The manager didn't charge for the buggy meal. The yak burger is bland. Don't waste your $25.00 on it. If you like overpaying for free range, non GMO, grass fed, bland sustainable, local gluten free food, then this is a place for you.

Grady Brown

Took the tour ate the food drank the home made craft beer. Met the owner very friendly staff and great crowd

Jim Scott

Had a rooftop event and this is a great venue. Really excellent beers available. Had 5 different types of Belgian style beers. The food available for catering on the rooftop was pretty good. Not the best I've had, but pretty good. When combined with the beers, you don't worry about that as much.

Deborah Barta

Very nice place to hang out, drink, eat and see the crow. Our server was very nice. We sat near the pizza oven in the floor level and it was very nice watching them cooking, we noticed that there was a server slow down for quite a while and food was piling up waiting to be delivered. Our food however didn't take long and we were very happy about. I order one type of drink, maybe similar to a mojito with raspberry. It is nothing special and I didn't think it was strong, it could use an extra dose of alcohol. We order a tuna(poke style) nacho, yumm super delicious, fresh tuna and homemade chips just perfect! Pizza was good but would prefer a bit crisper bread as the middle was a bit soft. I would still return to try other food. Overall is a nice place to go.

mattchrisSTARCRAFT

This was a great place to go and eat, the food was great and the atmosphere is nice. Only issue was the food took forever to come out. I understand the kitchen was backed up but it was a long time we waited. Overall good experience though!

Ivan Frey

Food with great service was great had a wonderful View

Tim Heath

Big focus on well executed craft beers and that hard work shows. Good variety of styles all of which were solid offerings. Food is equally good and compliments the beers. Great views and unique decor on each level with the outdoor deck and rooftop bar being the highlights. So much good to say about this place which unfortunately means this place stays busy and can have a long wait. But it's certainly worth it.

Their food is phenomenal, as well as their service and atmosphere. We loved it! We especially loved our AWESOME HOSTESS, Sarah! Thank you for a great experience! >>>>> HIGHLY RECOMMEND <<<<<

Great food. I ordered the Poke Bowl and my husband ordered the yak burger. We also shared the crab jalapeno poppers those are a must try!!!

Kah Wooi

The $25 yak burger had hardly any flavor. The Pattie was pretty undercooked on the inside too. It does look impressive though

Geoff Brady

This place has some fantastic tasting food and great atmosphere. I don't drink beer but the people I was with said that the beers were some of the best tasting ales they ever had. My only issue and it seems kind of petty but at $2.99 for a soda, I should get more than one refill. Yea it's pricey to live here but soda isn't that expensive up here. Other than that, great food and great fun.

Jeffrey Greb

Get the Yak burger. Tastes like sweet marinated sausage. They were out if the burnt blonde ale. But my second and third choices did not disappoint

Erica Clayton

A great place to stop for a bite and a beer! I had the fried cauliflower and it was k i l l e r! Paired with the hop tart sour beer, I had a great afternoon! It can be crowded in the bar area, if you’re ordering from the bar and not getting table service be sure to queue up at the end near be door. You’ll get faster service. The staff is super nice!

Marie Josee Lamothe

Very friendly and professional service, awesome beer selection, great food, amazing views on the rooftop. The only downside is the long wait to get a table (both times we went, it was over an hour wait).

Lindsay Howe

Three and a half stars at best. We went on a Tuesday evening. Spent over three hours at the place because the majority of our visit was spent waiting for something. Food was pretty good, but kind pricey for what you get. Overall it was a cool place, very nicely decorated, awesome location, good staff, and decent food. Be prepared to wait to get in, we were told it was rare for them to be that busy on a weekday evening.

Michael Stoos

Beer: great. Ambience: great. Service: decent. Cod Fish and Chips: mediocre. Heavy breading and overcooked, not super-flavorful. Expected more of the food for the price.

Michael Mccourt

I can understand why people like this place, but I found it rather standard and not specifically a place that I would recommend. Service was fine, but for some reason they had yes wait for 40 minutes for a table, but half the tables on the second floor were empty when we got seated. Menu was fine, but not particularly inspired.

Ian Fox

The only problem is the prices, but you're getting what you pay for. Every meal here is delicious. Portion size is great. Drink selection is great. Events are very fun here too.

Joseph Jensen

Do not miss the excellent food and beer here! The waitress was fast and kind and had us well taken care of. Don't skip out on the mac and cheese with crab, it was delightful, and the meatloaf was on point!

Michelle Cottrell

Good food, good bear, service with a smile and a show to boot. Good stuff

Rick Nobers

Several levels including the rooftop which overlooks water. I did the latter. Good food and great beer selection. Started with seafood dip app. I did the Halibut Tacos for my entree. Very large portions and more than enough food. My service here was slow and inattentive. The joint wasn't busy.

Jack Arsenault

Meals were delicious, drinks were great, alcohol selection is amazing. If they don't have it I don't think it exists. Staff are great. Worth the trip.

Gus Cotten

Delicious food, had one of the vegan pizzas and it was to die for.. definitely skimped on the cheese but the waitress was very friendly and assured me that all I needed to do was ask for extra cheese the next time

Sheila McDonald

Great atmosphere, food, and service. This place was highly recommended by many tour guides and they are right, everyone should have a bite to eat here.

ed merkle

Come early, come often. If the weather is good go to the roof but there could be a wait, just like downstairs.

Cl Smith

Overall the food was good. I was slightly disappointed that my fries were warm which indicated they probably has been sitting for a couple of minutes. Service was excellent but expect a wait if you do not make a reservation. Luckily, my group had one. However, the line to get in was long tonight, a Thursday. Plan ahead.

Eric England

Can’t review food but as far as service it was horrible. Stood in line waiting to be seated. After being told our table was being bussed waited another 45 minutes. When we were seated our waiter told us it would be at least another hour until our food was done. Waste of 2 hours since we had a flight to catch. Unless you have three to four hours to eat dinner steer clear.

D B

Good atmosphere, good beer, good food! We sat at the bar and had the Korean street nachos which were delicious. Not sure about the rest of the food, but a great place to visit.

Jeremy Goode

Chowder was awesome. Staff was friendly and attentive but not overly so.

David Burdett

Raquel (server) was amazing. Friendly and helpful. Food is awesome as is the atmosphere. Always enjoy coming back here....four times now. Do yourself a favour. You will not be disappointed.

Kathy Karpin

Loved it so much we went back a second time. Even though we only spent 3 days in Anchorage. Great beer, great food, great atmosphere

Heather Quilenderino

I will definitely stop here again! Excellent service and food! This place was packed for dinner, but we still received fast, thorough service. The daily special halibut cheeks and chips were amazing!

Madeleine Harris

Beautiful place that's usually always bustling. Big windows, luxurious selection of seating. I like that there is open seating at big, family style tables downstairs, or if you'd like your own table there's still the option to wait on the list during the dinner rush. I would recommend the halibut over the salmon, though, because for my first visit I went for the main salmon dish but left still hungry. That being my only criticism, it's a fun place right in downtown Anchorage I would visit again.

Alan Reade

Everything has flavor and the service is excellent. I recommend the avocado fries and and ipa.

kim gerstner

Great location and nice views. Friendly staff and good food. Loved the crab stuffed jalepeno poppers

Kab Vaj

We had roof top dining and the experience was amazing. The waiters were great and knowledgeable, the view is a must-see and the food was delicious. I sat at the table not speaking to anyone but just enjoying the jalapeno poppers and my burger/fries. It's basic, but so good.

Levi Bageant

Wonderful bartender that knew his stuff. Wish I could recall your name, but thank you for the exposure to your guys amazing beer selection. I will return soon!

Rebecca Coffin

Despite it being HOPPING busy, my husband and I were seated in less than a minute. The service was a little on the slow side, but this was to be expected with how slammed they were. Our server was thoughtful and attentive. The food was excellent. We got several tasters of beers and took home three growlers. (My favorite being the Ship Kriek!) We had a great night.

waylon brunsell

Food is great! Beer is great! Roof seating is the best! Waitstaff is very attentive.

Heather Brown

Nice setting, beautiful views with out door seating available. Our wait time was an hour and a half and I had to leave before we even got out food. The rest of my family stayed and said the food was cold and not freshly cooked. So I'm glad I left. I guess they didn't even take my meal off the ticket until something was said about it. Which I found to be kinda messed up. The management was nice and helpful though. This experience happened on a Friday night In the middle of tourist season.

Jonathan C

Very good food. The Yak-a-Dilla (yak meat quesadilla) was excellent and big enough to be a meal. The beers I had were good as well.

Brooke Bennett

Our waitress was very knowledgeable on the 49th state beers. The pretzel appetizer was the best pretzel I’ve ever had! It was a great experience and I will definitely come again, if I’m ever in anchorage!

Agnese Giaccone

Very fancy place, a bit crowded in the weekend. Friendly and professional staff. Food is amazing, I strongly recommend the king salmon and the flavored popcorns. Tasty local beers. I loved it!

Michael Fox

Been here twice. Each time service was almost nowhere to be found & didn’t think the food was that great. Maybe if I get dragged here again my opinion would change. As of now, would not recommend.

Todd Howard

Good beer. Best burger I’ve ever had world wide, period. The forester is amazing. Wings, octopus also good. Great stout and IPA. Rooftop patio. What’s not to love?

Georgianna Leete

This is a fun place in downtown Anchorage. It has a great view of the mountains from the upper floor and good food. Had a budda bowl that was superb! Don't forget to have one of their brews or a cider!

Leonard Lindsey

Food was good,. The view on deck is best part. Beer is very good. Worth buying a growler or two to take home.

Chris Dowling

I have to be honest here that this was my least favourite place that we ate at during our stay in Anchorage. If you like a very noisy bar restaurant with average food please do not let me put you off. In addition to the noise the front of house staff member seemed to be out of her depth. Really shambolic organisation while we waited for a table that I could see was upsetting some who turned around and decided to eat elsewhere. We decided to wait as my wife wanted to have some fish for dinner. I rather wish we had found somewhere else. Service was very impersonal which surprised, unusual for Anchorage. The staff just wanted to get orders and put the food on the table and give me the bill. What a shame

Alex Drayton

Heard the halibut and chips were phenomenal. Waited a while for a table and split that as an appetizer for 4 people. Was very disappointed by the amount we got for the price. Would recommend going to a nice restaurant for a halibut filet entree for the same price as the 3 strips and 15 fries they give you here.

Zoe Costa

Quick friendly service and great food! Definitely go for the Korean street nachos.
