They have great BBQ. The portions are large. Service is good and the price is reasonable. The location is by Murphy Creek near the old blue hole. They can handle large groups and they have takeout.

Been eating here all my life bbq is outstanding , my wife always gets it . I get out of the car thinking that it smells so good that I'll get bbq this time , but when it comes time to order I have to go for the whole catfish , best you'll find anywhere. Fries and salad are always good to. Be sure to try a fried pie for dessert.

The pulled pork plate is delicious with the best fried green tomatoes you could wish for:)!!! Love the fried okra and the fried catfish is pond raised and delicious and the sauce is the original and you can read an unbelievable article about it on Google:)! Everyone is super sweet and it has been remodeled, but with everything original kept in mind! The cedar post and candy counters for little and big kids are still up front! The work that goes into the barbecue most people don't realize, but we live close by and they are there before most of us have our heads off our pillows they have the fires going and chainsaws running:)!

When I first discovered this little cozy place I was ecstatic, quiet location with wonderful food! The waitresses can be a little ghost like sometimes and disappear but there's always someone around that can help. BBQ sandwiches are excellent and the BBQ stuffed potatoes are wonderful as well!

The BBQ is good the sauce is the best thing here! It's tangy and unique not the typical sweet sauce like at other restaurants, on the other hand, pretty much everything on the menu is frozen and not fresh made

This is a true hidden gem of down home southern barbeque.. from ribs, to smoked brisket, to pork shoulder, to chicken it's all simply delectable. The smoked meat may be legendary but the sides are all blue ribbon quality as well. Friendly staff and clean restaurant. The gastronomic experience is definitely worth the drive.

I enjoyed the scenic drive to this place. The atmosphere is charming and quaint. Very antique. However, my second time here and I was not impressed. If you order a bbq plate, ask for the sauce on the side otherwise they drown it in sauce. The Mac and cheese is bland and watery. Their ranch dressing is wonderful though.

I've tried this place before and have never had a great meal. Gave them another shot. I had a baked potato with grilled chicken. The potato was slightly under cooked and the chicken wasn't well seasoned. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

We returned to this restaurant two weeks ago and ordered the jumbo bbq pork sandwhich, and the whole catfish plate. Unfortunately the jumbo bbq sandwich was not what we received, instead we were given a small, unremarkable bbq sandwhich...and as for the catfish ( that I remember from years past being great) was greasy, mealy, and tasted very, very old. The worst part of the entire experience was the GRIME on the table. Around, and inbetween the sugar caddie and salt and pepper shakers were layers of grit and crumbs,greasy, and a dirty film as noone had actually lifted them off the table to clean...maybe ever. This place used to be so good...heartbreaking to see it in this condition!

First time to visit, went in and was sat alone in the back room because the front was full (which was understandable) but quickly decided to move ourselves to the first empty table to the front because the language the waitress was using as she was chatting with another back there wasnt exactly what I wanted my 8 year old to hear while having lunch. Our waitress complained about the others and told us what she had to say to them. Very unprofessional. Food was decent.

Excellent food and great service. It is small enough you can have a great service that seems to make you the number one customer on the restaurant no matter how busy they are. The food was so good that I felt like I was going to pop before I left.

The old log building is worth checking out along with the Amish store next door. The BBQ portions are smaller than what I expected. Expect to spend around $10 for a meal.

They are closed on Sunday, and the last two times I’ve been there, the service was slow and the waitresses seemed to have bad attitudes towards each other, the customers, and just in general. I love this restaurant! My family and I have been going for years and years but I just think the service staff, as a whole, should work on their attitude & realize that they are in a business where ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved and they need to improve on their customer service skills.

My first time to eat here. Rustic with the charm of an older restaurant. The eatery was very clean. The barbeque was very good (I could taste the hickory) and the service was quick and friendly. Will visit again

Now this is my own opinion on my experience. I didn't like it at all. Couldn't taste any smoke on the meat, like a good BBQ and did not like the BBQ sauce at all it tasted like glorified catsup. It just wasn't my kind of BBQ. Did not like the mack n cheese either

I have always loved this place the food is good but the sauce can go either way for different folks. I had the BBQ stuffed potato it comes with BBQ pork. Would be nice to come with BBQ chicken too, but it's still awesome. It's got a cool feel to the restaurant and they have some old school candy you can buy at the register including Taffy. Where it sits is not too far off the interstate and worth checking out.

I would go back if I could have the same waiter! Michael made the dine-in experience worth the drive (1.5 hr), but the food did not live up to what I had heard about the place. The fried green tomatoes were all cornmeal, the BBQ was watery, I will give them points for the onion rings and someone else in my group had the fried catfish and hush puppies and they truly enjoyed them! So 50/50 was all could give.

Stopped at this local gem on the way to Montgomery. A nice scenic drive about 5 miles off the highway. A steady stream of locals keep the place packed with not an empty table to be found. The waitress was friendly and our food came out quick. I ordered the pulled pork with baked beans and fried green tomatoes. My husband and daughter added the macaroni and cheese to their plates. We were not disappointed! The BBQ sauce was sweet and smoky and my family thought it was some of the best they ever had! My favorite was the fried green tomatoes! Easily the best tasting I have ever had. The tomato slices were big, thick and juicy and the breading was flavorful and crisp and stayed on the tomato without falling off. Even the sweet tea was good! My husband ordered the pecan pie. It came out looking like a handmade pierogi. He instantly declared it as delicious! The prices were very reasonable. Definitely worth the trip!

I really have enjoyed every visit. I enjoy the catfish and burgers are good as well. It is known for BBQ but I have never ordered since it isn't my preference. Even when it has been packed, the tables move quickly. Reasonable prices for the volume of food, but it can get pricey if eating with a larger family. I would recommend this place if you are ever in the area.

This is my new favorite barbecue place. The pork is lean and delicious. The sauce is tomato based with somewhat thick consistency; very tasty. Fried pickles are highly recommended. Also tasted the burger. It was quite good. Will be going back soon.

My favorite bbq restaurant in the state. The place is in the middle of nowhere. I have gone and it be empty and then I look up and there is a line waiting for the table. Great bbq, catfish and more. This isn't fine dining, so don't expect candles and white table cloths.

Good homemade thousand island dressing but was not impressed with the mac n cheese or baked beans (both just seemed like your average store-bought mix). The grilled chicken was nearly inedible though - avoid at all costs.

Nice little hole in the wall restaurant. Food is decent but they're very limited on what you can order. Edit: after eating here several more times, I can definitely say there is nothing special about this place. The food is not that great and does not leave you feeling to hot afterwards. Again, there are basically 3 things you can order, just served several different ways. This would be ok if those 3 things were actually good. I am changing my 4 stars to 1.

Great wait staff, catfish and BBQ not good. Not sure why this is so highly rated, at there on Saturday, 20 July. Catfish I ordered was not cooked inside, they replaced with BBQ which was not great IMHO. Men's room had a hole that a racoon could pass through into the wall void.
