I’m assuming he was the owner, very rude! The menu is very misleading in food description. The waitress was phenomenal and such a darling, but the pompous arse of an owner fired her. Completely turned off by this place. DO NOT EAT HERE

Unfortunately it has been a few years since I've been there. But I believe that the enormous pork chops, yes chops, we're better than they were before of course the vegetables were great. The service was Pleasant. An awesome experience tonight. On a side note I admire their courage for having a separate room for smokers. yes smokers have rights too, we're not trying to kill anyone. And how the city or the state or the country can get away with blackmailing all the restaurants by automatically taking off their health rating should be a crime like any other blackmail offense. It all it has always been an additional smoking room not smoking area. And thank you "Time To Eat" I wanted to go to a restaurant that has a well-balanced meal. Which includes vegetables. And a wonderful variety of vegetables, offered daily. I might add, that is hard to find in restaurants these days.

Well this is a tough one for me. We like this restaurant, and we typically come here fairly often. However, let me review the reason we won’t be back (at least for quite some time). So, My wife ordered Hamburger steak cooked medium and “Please Please BURN the onions”. Which the waitress writes down on the ticket. I ordered a hamburger that was supposed to have chili on it, cooked medium well (Covered Shi Burger). After approx 45 minutes the food arrived; both meals were cooked very WELL DONE, and the onions my wife asked for were barely translucent. I saw the owner in the back and I asked to speak with him. I got a (assuming) lead waitress. So I asked again to speak with him. I get ANOTHER lead waitress, Dolly, whom we like very well. So we explain the situation. She offers to comp the meal and I declined. (Dolly did wind up taking one of the meals off anyway). What I wanted, was to let him know his “help” was NOT helping his business very well. You can’t police your people if you don’t know they are messing up right? So evidently our issues were not that important for him to talk to us. I kinda thought that was “Customer Service 101”. So we made our last visit to Time to Eat. Bottom line is the food is good most of the time. The service is great most of the time, but the owner could give two sh*ts about the customers evidently.

Although I didn't eat here. I walked in and smelled not food but cigarettes. I'm sure the food is good and the advertising sounds good but the stinky cigarettes is a turn off. You should put a door and isolate the smoking sections. Went to rouses and had lunch instead.

I love time to eat an have for a long time, a few of the waitresses even looked out for me an my wife when we were homeless. The food is always great an reasonably priced, wish I could come in an get something to eat but my ex Eva Michelle Henry works there. I'm worried that she might raise hell or spit in our food if we come in though. Honestly not trying to create drama or problems I just miss being able to smoke an eat here.

Great service every time I've gone. The food is AMAZING!! The clocks on the wall are interesting and fun. There is a smoking allowed, I believe it's to the left side of the restaurant and in a completely separate room. The servers know their stuff and are friendly.

Great down-home Sourhern food. The cafe is quirky, but the food makes it all okay. Diners should be aware that this restaurant still has a smoking section, so if you're sensitive to cigarette smoke, consider a different place.

I ordered chicken fingers and fries, they were good but nothing exceptional, everyone else at the table ordered a burger and seemed to be very satisfied. Our waitress was really good, attentive and sweet. I'm not from this area but my brother-in-law frequents this restaurant. Only thing that got me.... They allow smoking in the front that you have to walk through, when you aren't a smoker it's very unappealing, they could stand to switch that around so if you aren't a smoker you don't have to walk through that or just not allow it at all in the restaurant.

The decor leaves very much to be desired. And, they allow smoking on one half of the restaurant which, as we all know, smoke travels. Not a fan of that. But.......the food was very good. I had the beef tips and gravy and they were sooooo tender! My husband had the t-bone and said it was very good too. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Will probably go there again if in that area.

Supper good food! Very friendly staff. They had great selection on there menu. Homemade ranch dressing and onion rings are worth the visit alone. Had a one o'clock burger. As close to a homemade burger that I've gotten anywhere! Will definitely be back!!

Use to be a good place. I went there this morning. I asked twice for water. I was told the second time they didn't have any water? They was serving coffee. I guess this is my last visit there. Something about switching out the soda machine. Without water how can employees wash their hands?

They had a SET menu, pre-cooked food $18 for Thanksgiving today. Got there right when they opened at 10:00, nobody else in there. Specifically picked this place to eat because we had eaten there before. Servers more occupied filling to-go orders than waiting on people eating in the restaurant. Took 45 minutes to get our food, it was cold. Told them we wanted whole new plate, not heated in microwave. Waited 10 more minutes, brought us back the same plate, STILL COLD. We no longer had appetite, asked to speak to the manager, server said he was "too busy". Never had a manager refuse to speak to an unhappy customer. Had eaten here before and the food is good but there NO EXCUSE for today. Will never go back. Went to another restaurant where they appreciate you coming in on a Holiday.

On our way from central Florida to Texas we pulled off I 10 for fuel and looked on Google for a place for lunch. Time To Eat Cafe is amazing. It’s tucked in a strip mall. Looks much smaller than it is. The food.... French dip was my choice and it was the best I’ve ever tasted. Their baked beans and macaroni and cheese nuggets was amazing. We will be back on the way home. Our new restaurant here.

The food is Southern perfection. The way they make the cornbread for the Mac & cheese bites is the exact same way my great grandma used to make her's every single Sunday afternoon (minus the m&c) when I was younger. It took me straight back to my childhood & since no one in my family can remember exactly how she made it, I hope that they never stop making it at Time To Eat. The employees were all so nice & friendly & the atmosphere is down to earth & cozy. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

My wife and I ate here for the first time Saturday afternoon 4/27/19. I'm really upset that I haven't taken the time to come here before. Fried Green Tomatoes, WOW. My wife got fried oysters and said they were as good as Bozo's (seafood restaurant), that is a 6 star rating as my wife loves oysters and Bozo's. I had the hamburger steak and thought I'd order the large! DON'T! Wow I couldn't even eat half of it! It was so good. Has to take it to go. Sweet tea is fresh and just the right amount of sugar and the waitresses have the right amount of sugar too!. As we got ready to leave, one of the owners came to our table and thanked us for coming and asked if there was anything else that we needed or he could do for us. Wow! What amazing people, food and atmosphere. We WILL be back and soon. If you have not been please make time to go. It is well worth the time and money.

This restaurant comes as advertised! Wherever your staying in Mobile Al, it's worth the time and the drive to visit. Sara our server and the whole staff are friendly, courteous and unpretentious. Tucked in a corner a quaint diner caught in time. The food is made with quality ingredients and is truley home cooked to perfection. It made our stay in Mobile much better. Best food in town hands down! Time to Eat can't be beat.

My mom loves Seafood, so I decided to take her to Time To Eat Cafe' -- She immediately noticed all of the clocks on the wall. It was a nice experience. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal. The Catfish was cooked just right for her. Nice family atmosphere. The Catfish Dinner was served with two large pieces of fish, along with two sides. The customer service is very good. A nice old school Cafe'.

I've tried to eat at this place multiple times, and being a very seasoned veteran of the food service industry i have to say I expected a more better from such a locally owned place. For starters you should never sit long enough to smoke 2 ciggarettes before you even see your server.... I left . I called them today to see about delivery and these crazy people prceeded to tell me that even though im a whole whopping 10 minutes away they wanted a $20 delivery fee..... I only wanted $7 chicken tenders .... Theres just no way. Im sorry, to be such a new establishment you need to get it together. All in all the only reason you got one star was because I had to give you that to tell people how utterly unimpressed I am... And just in case anybodys curious about just how long..... I've been in food and beverage for for 22 YEARS.
