Here you will see all the reviews of real people who have information of the products of The Ruby Slipper Cafe (Restaurant) near to the state of Alabama.
Now the business has a score of 4.5 stars out of 5 and this rating is based on 1411 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an feddbacks average is nearly the highest, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the rating is very credible. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put reviews when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Brunch restaurant.
This place is busy for a reason. It is a prefect place for breakfast/brunch. We were able to get seated quickly with a party of 12! Delicious food and pleasant southern service. The French Truck coffee they served was good, even for this coffee geek. I bought a pound to go.
Service was great. Pancakes were burned on one side and hard to eat. Was hoping they offered basic breakfast choices. Lots of variations of eggs Benedict, pancakes. More upscale than basic bacon and eggs. We should have split our entree too. Servings were big enough to share.
Excellent food and service. I never get eggs Benedict but our waitress recommended and they were AMAZING. perfect huge southern biscuit, perfect eggs, chicken so good. Highly recommend!
Hands down my favorite restaurant!! I love their monthly specials. I aim to try them all! Their stuffed French toast is always so perfect. Their cheese scrambled eggs are fluffy and fresh. I love their drinks too! You can’t go wrong with the pomegranate mimosa or the Irish Coffee! YUM
Arrived and the place is super cute but had an a weird odor. We were greeted warmly and sat promptly. We ordered our food. I ordered eggs over medium and asked she make sure the whites were fully cooked. Our food arrived and the egg whites were not cooked. Also the food was not hot. She made me another plate but every one was done eating by the time it arrived. Also the egg whites were runny again. I ended up eating my daughter’s left overs. I ate alone and did not get to enjoy the meal I ordered. My coffee sat empty the entire time. Overrated in my opinion.
Good food good staff bring coins for parking meter!!
I love Ruby Slipper. I always eat RS when I go to New Orleans and was so happy to see a location in Orange Beach. I love their food and flavor combinations. We got the pancake flight with the cinnamon swirl, the goo goo cluster and the bacon praline. The cinnamon swirl is amazing. The benedicts were both really good, i could have used a little more sauce, since biscuits are a little drier than an english muffin or other breads. The Banana Foster French Toast was probably my families favorite. Oh So GOOD! Such good bread, such good flavor. I could eat that everyday...I shouldn't, but I could. Got grits and potatoes on the side. The servers were super friendly and really nice to our kids. I loved every bite.
I went there with some friends. We all had a great time. The food was awesome, the staff was great, and the atmosphere was fabulous. If you love brunch, you need to go experience the best brunch in town.
Worth the wait food and staff were excellent
Fast service and amazing food. Out waitress did everything she could to get us in and out before church.
Wish I could give it zero stars .it was a busy day but we waited over an hour after placing order for cold food . Only one of our 4 meals was even warm . Our server gave us a food and never came back over . Cups were dirty and plastic seems like hand washed but not well . My Ruben was cold and soaggy and fries were ice cold like not even remotely warm . My son got a cinnamon pancake and couldn’t even get through two bites it was so cold again would have told server but she never came back until check time at that point we were annoyed and just wanted to leave it ruined our entire day
I absolutely enjoyed it! It was my first time going here, and I was blown away by the friendliness of our waitress and the quality Spanish omelette that I ordered. The biscuits and grits were also on point! Would definitely visit again.
Liked the atmosphere and menu. If you're doing the pancake flight, might need to share, there is a lot there and rich. Lots of Eggs Benedict options too. Favorite was the Cinnamon Roll pancake. Also recommend their staple latte!
Good food (we ate breakfast) with a 'NOLA' flair.
Food was ok, over priced.
A bit pricey, but the food was great. Although, I did notice that the portion size varied quite a bit. Someone at the next table ordered the same thing and the portions on his plate were significantly larger. If I'm going to pay $20 for two poached egg crab cakes, I expect them to be of substantial size. I found their slogan "You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning" to be insightful & hilarious! Their drinks are good, but also kinda pricey. However, an interesting variety of originals becons them to be tasted. Service was friendly, attentive & pleasant. It was quite crowded on a Saturday morning and the wait time was about 20 minutes. They text your phone when your table is ready.
Always amazing!! No matter which location I visit. My family is orginally from Louisiana, so Ruby Slippers is a go to for breakfast on many occasions. The food came out quick, and everything was great. I tried the peacemaker and got the chicken st. Charles and shrimp boogaloo Benedicts and they were awesome! Would defintely reccomend! My only suggestion would be that you use yelp to get in line because its always busy!
We had an amazing experience , salmon eggs Benedict are delicious
Wow. Three Little Pigs omelette is my new favorite
This was a very enjoyable brunch experience for me. The service was very good. The coffee was hot and strong. I ordered the Peacemaker. The corned beef and chicken fried steak variety were my choices. I loked them both. The restaurant was clean and well lit and I liked the location.
This place is by far THE BEST place to get brunch! Service is great, and food is phenomenal. Been here 3 different times and never disappointed. Don't forget to ask to sit on the back patio.
Went on Mother's Day. Long wait but worth it. One of the best Bloody Mary's I've had!! Pickled green beans and vodka infused bacon, OH MY LORD!!! YUMMY!!!
We were passing through headed back to Atlanta and we definitely chose the perfect spot. The food, the staff, the mimosas were all perfect. We went during Sunday brunch and told it would be a 30 min wait...it was more like 15. I wish I remembered our waiters name but he was an excellent server. Very attentive with a wonderful personality and attitude. The fried green tomatoes were everything! Definitely check them out if you're in the area
Good food, but too expensive for my tastes
Traveling through mobile and looking for a something to eat we happened upon The Red Slipper. It was a great experience in every way. To start the staff was great. Very friendly and very down to earth. The food was amazing and the portions very plentiful. And the price was very affordable. It's worth a stop by.
First time visiting. Will definetly return. Food was awesome and so was atmosphere and staff.
Bananas Foster was superb! Be warned, the food is excellent but definitely not on the American Heart Association's approved list!
Great food! Good place to meet friends for brunch.
Food and service great
I REALLY ENJOYED IT!!
If you enjoy breakfast in the big easy you'll love this place. The coffee is great, the breakfast selection is unique for the area, and the service was excellent! I'll definitely be back
Great food and worth the price. Bambam buscuit is very good, and their pancakes are great.
Great brunch! Their biscuits are absolutely stunning
Wonderful breakfast drinks and service
Great coffee and even better Corned Beef Hash Bennie!
Food was great, service was slow
Are you hungry for breakfast? Large tasty portions
Great food, very friendly staff.
In short, I am both an amateur chef and can be rather hard to please (and get along with according to my sweet bride), but this place is utterly fantastic! The service was great and the menu has been well thought out with a wonderful variety which my wife and I fully intend to sample over the next several visits since it was prepared just as good as it looks on the menu! As we often said in my beloved Corps - "OUTSTANDING!!!"
Restaurant, food, and service was nice. Will be coming back again.
Fried chickun on my eggs bennydickt. Life changing
Love this place and the food is always excellent. Gillis was wonderful and attentive. Would definitely recommend to friends.
It was outstanding!! I'm very picky. Get the Bananas Foster French toast...it was served HOT!! My husband chose the peacemaker w/a chicken & a shrimp Benedict. Waitress Rachel was a jewel. This is at the top of the list for our next trip.
Fantastic corned beef hash. The horseradish sauce served on it really complimented it well.
Great food . Great service.
Great place for breakfast/brunch. The creme brulee pancakes were fantastic!
Just as good as the NOLA location. Great staff and delicious food.
First discovered the Ruby Slipper at it's original location in New Orleans, and this location in Orange Beach was just as good. Had their Peacemaker Benedict and would highly recommend since it gives you the choice of two signature benedict's, I had the Cochon and the Blackstone and both were perfect. The biscuits were really dense but full of flavor and the eggs were poached perfectly. I would highly recommend.
Great place great food, great service
Àmazing breakfast. The corned beef eggs Benedict was very good and very filling. Over easy eggs were a bit runny but still good. Definitely recommend
Excellent brunch place. Mamosas a little weak though
Love this place! I can't go south without stopping here. Never had anything that wasn't fabulous! Bacon infused Bloody Mary, Smoked Salmon Bennie and candied bacon are my go-tos. ❤
Unique breakfast and lunch dishes. Great drinks. We ate at the bar and it service was great. Relaxed vibe.
I waited until my last day in town to have breakfast here... I won't make that mistake again. Great meal and environment. Family friendly!
Food is amazing
Great food and experience
We had breakfast here on a rainy day. Food was pretty good large portion sizes and the biscuits are huge. Our waitress was very friendly and provided great service.
Always great food. Staff is amazing.
Good food. Large portions. A bit of a wait for food once seated.
Food was great! The french toast sticks are amazing!
Very good food, service. and atmosphere. Try the Morning Margarita. It's the perfect brunch drink!
If you want a unique, delicious breakfast then this is the place to go. I have never been disappointed in anything I have had off the menu and the service has always been really good. Prices are a little on the high side but the quality and portions make it worth it.
Stopped at Ruby Slipper on our way home from a weekend beach trip and LOVED everything! Service and food were great. We didn't mind having to wait, they were busy, but kept the crowd moving. Food portion size was great and the mimosa specials were delicious. Everything was wonderful!
A bit of a wait as we expected arriving between 1145 and noon for Sunday brunch. Dedicated walk up bar helps with the wait although the Bloidy Mary's were quite spicy. Waited about 40 minutes as warned. The menu is amazing with incredible variety for breakfast lunch and brunch. We did not utilize our wait time looking over the menu so we still needed plenty of time to consider our options when seated. The server was very cordial and agreeable with the wait for us to order. The server had no additional help so my water went unfilled far too long. I ordered a three meat omelet with cheese and purple onion. It was fantastic and nowhere near as bland as most omelets I've ordered. A solid 5* omelet. I chose cheese grits over the potato or fruit sides. The taste was great but the grits weren't even hot enough to melt the shredded cheese. The biscuit that came with the meal was a "cat's head biscuit," soft and doughy and weighing (a lot) more than a loaf of bread. Tasty though! My wife ordered the Southern Breakfast with 2 eggs OE, crisp bacon, cheese grits, fried green tomato and a huge biscuit. She was happy with eggs and bacon (after sopping up some excess cooking oil/butter from the eggs with her paper napkin). She had the same problem as I did with the grits. The fried green tomato was good and her biscuit went untouched. I was close to giving Ruby Slipper a 3 star rating but the food and drinks are too good to do so. If a 3.5 rating was available I'd have chosen it. How hard is it to serve hot grits?
The shrimp and grits were outstanding! But that biscuit though
Food was delicious
Nice place for breakfast. Parking was a bit crazy.
Amazing food and service! Pancake flight is spot on! Fun atmosphere!
This is connected to the Red Slipper in New Orleans. The menu isnt as extensive but the food is great. Would have given a higher rating but for the price. Ended up spending $30 plus for eggs benni, french toast, coffee and two eggs. Wait staff was great.
Great food and service
Great atmosphere. I'd really like to rate a 3.5 stars, because was all around average. A little slow on the service, but we were there on Saturday at 10am- their most popular time. Food was just good, could be better with a little spice or seasonings. 10 dollar mimosa ok, but get a big-sized glass. Waitress was nice.
Great place. Service was outstanding drinks were beyond yummmm! My only complaint was leaky AC... it dripped on me several times while j was eating and when I inquired no accommodations were made beyond an apology.
Usually go to the one near gulf shores but this one is great too. Kid-friendly options are apparently good too!
Had such a great experience I had to bring my mom and aunt. Definitely a place to go for drinks and food! Brandy milk is sweet and delicious. Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks great place!
A very energetic and friendly atmosphere breakfast spot. Delicious breakfast choices. The smoked salmon avocado toast was excellent with that touch of goat cheese,
Service was excellent as was the food. I had a great omelet and biscuit. The St. CHARLES chicken biscuit is also great. The biscuits are HUGE.
The food was delicious and there were lots of yummy options. Try the chicken eggs Benedict. The place is really cute, it's a good place for brunch with friends. Sadly the drinks are really overpriced, and I hated that everything was served on or in plastic instead of glass.
Fabulous food. Spanish omelette, crepe, grits, french toast, bacon. Quick service. Everything was terrific.
Good big cocktails. Slow service
Very busy and wait staff and food not very good
Hands down the best breakfast joint in Mobile and Nola
Overall really good, would definitely recommend and visit again. The only thing was that the biscuits were pretty dry and the corned beef egg benedict was borderline cold when it came out. Still very good and the shredded pork benedict I ordered was delicious.
Outstanding meals for a reasonable price.
Awesome place for a delicious breakfast or brunch. The catfish and grits and the St. Charles chicken(with 2 poached eggs)... Delicious! You see how big these Damn biscuits are? Don't forget to guzzle down a mimosa or three.
We went for the first time today. We were seated quickly. The food was extremely good. The portions were massive. My husband could barely finish his. We had praline pancakes, which were so unique and delicious. And I ordered the 3 piggys omelet. It was excellent as well. The biscuit it came with huge. The wait for the food can take a bit, but it's worth the wait.
Not that great of service and extremely expensive. For 3 people the check came to $59.00 plus tip. They say they are a cheap place to have a great meal. I say they are an expensive place to have a Blah meal. I wouldn't go back for NOTHING. Just a warning be careful cause they say one thing and when you get the bill, it is something all together different.
(Translated by Google) Excellent and exquisite place for breakfast and lunch !!!! (Original) Excelente y exquisito lugar para desayunar y almorzar !!!!
Christmas brunch with my coworkers here. Very good service and everyone was pleased with their meals. My French toast stuffed with cheesecake filling was a hit. Several made plans to return the same weekend.
Friendly, fast, and tasty.
Great food and drinks really nice waitress.
Absolutely amazing food and service. The brunch is incredible! Don't miss this place when visiting the beach. You won't regret it!
Very good breakfast
Excellent food, amazing service, great bloody Mary and mimosas
Lives up to the good revews. If you are visiting town make sure you go to the orange Beach location it's less crowded. Food it's just delicious.
Wonderful food, perfect service (Michelle was amazing
The Ruby Slipper was recommended to me. I had breakfast there this morning and was truly impressed. Service was delightful and the food was superb. Thank you for a memorable experience.
Wonderful! SO much food! Love the fact you can actually join the wait-list on Yelp before arriving. It allowed us to skip in front of about 10 people.
Went with a group and we all enjoyed our breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were there on Monday and not to busy, so no wait for a table. Their biscuits are huge and very tasty as well as everything else. The restaurant was a great find.
Me and my wife decided to try this place out for our birthday, heard amazing reviews from the one in Louisiana. I can see why! As you walk in, hosts was there to greet you. Very clean and sanitary! The view from inside and outside was also amazing, the menu is very self explanatory. The servers are very informative and professional, drinks came out quickly. Did not wait long for our food, it was fresh and very filling! I recommended friends and family here! They aim to please! I also want to commend the chefs! The food was presentable and delicious!
My friend and I tried to eat at the Ruby Slipper while in NOLA, but there was always over an hour wait. When I saw there was one in Orange Beach, I had to try it. We went on a weekday, and got seated promptly. They have a great menu, including alcoholic drinks. I had the praline bacon pancakes, and my sister had eggs blackstone, which consisted of poached eggs over biscuits, with tomato, bacon and hollandaise sauce. Both meals were delicious. Portions were large, too large for us to finish. Service was excellent. Great stop for breakfast when in Orange Beach.
Delicious. First time there. My waitress could use some retraining...shouldn't tell customers the sunnyside up egg is not done and if you didn't want to be there that day, should have called in.
As always, the Ruby Slipper never disappoints. This location has wonderful service and a variety of delicious menu items! Great addition to downtown Mobile!
Came in July 14 around 7 am .Was greeted by hostess who was friendly and was helped by manger who got us a high chair . When our server came that’s when it went downhill. She had a horrible attitude didn’t seem interested in serving us felt as if she didn’t even want us in her section .5 stars for the hostess and manager .-2 stars for the server with a horrible attitude not sure what her name was because she didn’t have a name tag and failed to introduce herself but she had a curly hair that was worn in a puff .
Good experience, second visit. Servers work very hard to keep up with volume of business but have a good attitude.
Great food great drinks. This is definitely where I go to treat myself.
Our service was quick and the food was hot. The shrimp and grits was among the better I've had. They weren't over salted, and the seasoning was great. THOSE BISCUITS ARE THE BEST. I hope I can order two biscuits with the butter and have that as a meal next time.
Great menu. Good service but think our waitress today was a bit overwhelmed at first. Cheaper places to grab breakfast but well worth the extra couple of dollars for the selection and specialties.
Great brunch options. I had the cornbeef hash eggs benidict and it was very good. Nice and efficient wait staff and the outdoor patio was nice with misters keeping everyone cool.
My daughter and I went here for Mother's Day and we loved it! To avoid the long wait we sat at the bar. We now have a new favorite spot!
Utterly amazing food and super friendly staff. What an excellent place to grab brunch!
The food was amazing and even though it was a packed house the wait was not long at all. The service was outstanding.
Portions huge! Corned beef hash bene very good. Bananas foster french toast very good, but very sweet. Bloody Mary ok.awfully tangy green beans in it weren't helpful. Service friendly and good. There was a wait when we left
Perfect experience! Michelle is a top notch server!
The ruby slipper had an amazing Brunch! I had a Spanish Omelet which was delicious! My family ordered different thing and loved all of them. My favorite thing was on the kids menu though. It was a cinnamon sugar swirl pancake, which was to die for! I didn't like my pomegranate mimosa so much, but the bacon infused bloody Mary wa as really good! Also, the service was Fantastic! There was definitely a little wait of about 20 minutes at 11 on a Saturday, but it was well worth it!
Ordered the shrimp boogaloo Benedict. The shrimp was frozen not fresh. The sauce was canned. It was the worst breakfast I've ever had at the beach.
Amazing food and service.
Great place! Everyone is welcoming and happy to help. There are plenty of choices that will please everyone!
Very good and charming breakfast restaurant downtown.
AMAZING!!!!! You have to try the Trifecta!
Amazing food, great service!
This is the place to go when you need a break from seafood. Friendly staff, amazing food, and a great atmosphere. First time to Orange Beach, but we will 100% be back.
Great service good food
We feel that this establishment is seriously overrated. Waitstaff very efficient and pleasant but both meals were lukewarm at best. Even cold in centers. A bit dry and skimpy on the corned beef hash with cold potatoes in center, and pork bit dry also. Poached eggs were room temp. We were not there during "rush hour" so no reason for food not being proper temp when served. If one does not do much cooking at home, it is just ok st best, but if you are looking for great breakfast, take a pass. You will save some $$
Fun brunch menu with a southern twist. Our server was fantastic, the coffee was yum and the food was delicious.
Went around 11. 15 minute wait. Chose outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Enjoyer by all. French toast came with bacon but had to add eggs, same for pancake plate and kids french toast. Would like to see a complete meal served instead of having to add on the eggs. Decent pricing. We also had the 3 little pig omlet. This was served as a complete meal. My son said the biscuit w/maple butter was good. We tried a side of the bacon candy as well.
One of the best places I ever ate breakfast at. The staff was amazing and the food was GREAT. They are the real deal. I would wait a hour for their food.
Great brunch & bloody Mary's!
Awesome food loved it, awesome old building, very friendly staff. Totally supported families during time of need.
This place was so good for breakfast, we went twice!!
Oh my god this is the greatest restaurant in all of Alabama not even joking
The food was bland, not worth the price at all. The presentation of the food was nice. The employees were very friendly had to flag them down though for everything from when we were ready to order, getting refills and even asking for the ticket.
Fabulous place to dine outside. Service & food ...wonderful!
Fantastic food and quick service. One of the best bloody mary's I've had in a while!
The barbeque shrimp & grits were amazing!
Pretty good but super busy.
Great place for breakfast while on vacation. Food is very very good. You can't be in as hurry here, everybody knows the food is great so you will wait some. We were here 14 Oct 2018 which was Sunday. We used the available app to get in line and still waited 20 minutes or so. It is worth the wait, period!! Get a Bloody Mary and enjoy people watching.
Service was phenomenal! Danielle did a fantastic job. And the food... wow! If your going to eat breakfast at one place during vacation, this is the place to go!
Amazing brunch! Fun and friendly waitstaff!
Delicious food, friendly staff, great place for brunch
Very busy but worth the wait. Our 40 min estimated wait was more like 15 min so don't let the wait scare you off. Great service, nice people and great atmosphere!
Our food was great and our server Rachel was great and friendly.
Good breakfast. Good service. Fast.
The food and service is amazing and we love the outdoor seating in the summer. Highly reccomend.
Loved this place! Took a bit to get a table but once we sat down everything moved quickly. Food was delicious, I got a custom omelette and it was fantastic. Eggs Benedict also looked amazing. Coffee tasted great and the staff were all friendly and on their A-game. Great experience.
Great service and delicious food
So enjoyed our Brunch! Excellent food and great service. We will be back!
Service was good, food was good, good atmosphere. A bit pricey for brunch. My wife enjoyed their signature drinks. No biscuits and gravy. Bummer. The southern breakfast was good. We'll go back
Had breakfast with family. Got a smile, great service and exceptional food! Migas (not skinny) were the tables favorite. Espresso, Coffee, Bisquite and Gravy, French Toast all very good.
This was by far one of our best experiences while visiting orange beach/gulf shores. The food, the atmosphere, our server - everything was 5+ stars!!! Be sure to checkout the 3 little pigs omelette, the French toast sticks, or candied bacon. But honestly everything here is really good. You just can’t go wrong
The food was absolutely delicious. All six of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and we all got something different. If you like pancakes and Eggs Benedict you will have more choices than you can handle. We even had a mishap with some wet paint and they did everything they could to fix it. We will be back next year, for sure!
We picked up a takeaway order for the family since we were short on time. The staff was incredibly friendly. The food we received was delicious. Unfortunately, our pig candy order didn’t make it in the bags and we also were unable to try the bananas foster due to the fresh sauce melting the styrofoam cup it came in. I hope we have another beach trip in our future and are able to try the Ruby Slipper Cafe again.
Morning margaritas! Wonderful Brunch
My husband and I just had a wonderful breakfast. Everything was done very well--- the fried green tomatoes were the best we have had on our month long adventure here in Alabama. Everyone was super nice and very helpful.
They serve great breakfast style food and burgers here. I would highly recommend what ever you order you add the “candy bacon” it’s wonderful!
Food is Awesome and I am a picky eater.
As with most restaurants in the area, expect a wait. You'll find that the food is well worth the time spent.
The food was delicious and the bloody Marys were on point! I had the Trifecta, which is one each of Eggs Cochon, Chicken St. Charles and Shrimp Boogaloo Benedicts. I love how the Benedicts are served on a biscuit instead of an English muffin giving it a more savory taste. Our server Brittany was exceptional and her recommendations were spot on! Don’t forget to try their bacon infused Bloody Mary!
Very slow service
Always busy, but staff is hopping! Food is very good! Worth the 20 minute wait. Awesome mimosas and morning drinks!
Almost as good as the New Orleans location. Good food.
Although the food was slightly under seasoned, everything was good, service was amazing, and the atmosphere was nostalgic
all my food was cold and the biscuits are huge. I had candy bacon which was great! Nothing to brag about.
A must stop for breakfast. This was our last stop leaving our vacation. Staff and good is amazing.
The food is always Delicious ! So happy to finally have one in Mobile!
Great food and service!
The food, atmosphere and service were excellent!
The ultimate brunch. Started off with a ruby slipper mimosa and my son tried the iced coffee. Service was quick. Sabrina was a real star! We had the eggs Cochon and the smoked salmon benne and a pancake to share. Food, delicious. Service impeccable. Atmosphere was lively. Cost is $$$ but totally worth it! We will be back for more deliciousness!
From the food to the service it was awesome! Will definitely go back
Great food, service, and atmosphere! We had 4 adults and 4 kids in our party. Our wait was only about 20 minutes with them being busy. We had a variety of foods and everything was spot on. Parking lot was small so we had to park across the street but not a big deal at all.
Fun atmosphere and our serving staff was very nice that’s what makes a 3 star vs 2. The bacon praline pancakes were just ok. The Benedict’s were pretty good- lots of food. However my daughter’s iced coffee drink had a hair in the whipped cream and my son found a hair in his hollandaise sauce The waitress replaced the coffee- but it should have been free and my son was done when he noticed the hair.
This is a fabulous place for breakfast or brunch. We had a party of 10 and our waiter Maurice was very helpful and patient with us. He told us their specials and his favorite dishes. He took good care of us. The coffee here is hot and fresh. Every dish our party had was delicious. I had the Hot-Smoked Salmon Bennie", it was very flavorful and cooked just right. I also tried a bite or 2 (or 3) of the French Toast, Shrimp and Grits, The Costa Rican (with black beans and fried plantains) I'll definitely be getting that again and also the "Candied Bacon"... Oh my goodness the candied bacon! If you are a meat eater this is a must have! Absolutely delicious! We were pleased with everything we tried and will be back for more.
Good food, friendly and prompt service. I recommend it. Only open until 2 pm. Tip: We stopped by about 12:30pm and sat outside, and even though there was only a moderate breeze, it quickly cooled down my corned beef bene, so I need to remember that for next time, because I found myself wolfing down my food trying to eat it before it got cold (I failed).
Had a great brunch meal with my girlfriend. We sat at the bar with Jan. We love eggs benedict but really enjoyed the variety y’all had! Drinks were good but the bacon vodka Bloody Mary was amazing!
Great breakfast and excellent service. Really enjoyed my experiences there.
Great food and great service!!
This is a Orange Beach gem Great service great menu great food I could eat here every day
We enjoyed ourselves
Good fresh good.
Fast, friendly service. Food was great. Would recommend.
Great place friendly staff and atmosphere.
Great atmosphere, cool location, great prices with huge portions..my 5 year old son loved it.
Service and food was excellent. Out of all the places me and my family ate during our 4 day stay, this by far was the best.
We carried our daughter-in-law there for her birthday about 2 weeks ago. It was on a Saturday and the wait was about 1 hour and 15 minutes around lunch time. We strolled around downtown and enjoy the view while waiting when the convenience of a page that they would do when our table was ready. And sure enough when it was ready they let us know by way of the text message they sent saying that our table was ready. When we got inside we were seen it by a very nice waitress and she proceeded to give us excellent service and recommendations based on the menu. She also gave us a brief history of the restaurant which was very interesting. The food was delivered hot and very quickly. As we all begin to eat you could tell everyone was just delighted with a wonderful preparation and went into making our wonderful meal. We enjoyed it very much. Our waitress was very very nice to out our visit and we would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in downtown mobile that would like to have a great omelette.
Beautiful food, large portions, great service!
Good was good, they couldn't seem to cook my eggs fully as I like, but the margarita was really great!!!! They did take my meal off my bill also. Service was on point!!!! Sever was so sweet and kept apologizing about my eggs. We would go back. Staff is great!!!
We went there today for my birthday and it was awesome!! The service was excellent and our waitress Kaia was very sweet and helpful!!
The food is delicious. Great location.
Great food and wonderful location near our hotel!!
We were on vacation in Orange Beach and saw this restaurant and decided to have breakfast there. What a great place, the selections were so plentiful it was difficult to choose. Our server helped us with that, and everything else I'll add, and we had a delicious meal. We highly recommend this place, you will be as satisfied as we were in sure. I think breakfast and brunch are all they serve but can't be sure...and if they do serve lunch and dinner I'm sure it would be very satisfying.
Food was excellent here. Had the Brioche French Toast, Sausage and Gravy eggs Benedict, Chicken Sausage patties and scrambled eggs. Our waitress was super friendly and provided great service.
1st time, the food was good little pricey. My only real complaint was the chairs, uncomfortable. A cushion may help.
Good but a bit pricey
This place knocked our socks off for breakfast we had a group off 11 ladies and wanted a really great breakfast is the place they serve brunch drinks and all sorts of brunch dishes that were so unique and delicious everyone at the table loved their meal We did have to wait about 30 minutes to be seated but it was definitely worth it
I just didn’t enjoy this restaurant. Biscuits too heavy. Grits were tasteless. Fried green tomato was cold and over cooked. Food did come quickly. Server was pleasant. Others enjoyed their pancakes and specialty biscuits with seafood and sauces.
I can't say enough about this place! We visited on vacation and we had our friendly pit bull with us. It wasn't easy to find places to patron who welcomed her but the Ruby Slipper Cafe was a staple in our everyday brunch outting. We sat on the deck which was wonderful and the servers brought her a water bowl and came and greated her. The food was amazing but at that point we would've came everyday just for how welcoming and amazing the service and staff was. Definitely come if you are traveling with your 4 legged family member!
Good food and drinks
Loved loved loved this place! Great breakfast
Food was Delicious and friendly staff!
The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. The environment and style of the restaurant was great as well.
Awesome breakfast restaurant. Whenever you are in Mobile, Al. you must pay them a visit.
Everything was really good. This is a suggestion, start making the pancakes smaller and thinner and crispy, so when the syrup is added they don't become like soggy cake. All the other items on the menu are wonderful. We love coming every time we are on vacation on the Gulf. Thanks, have a good day.
You must try this place. There busy but it is worth the wait! The food is delicious and beautifully prepared. Friendly staff that works hard to make your experience wonderful. Definitely will be revisiting when we come back to Orange Beach. Thank you ,thank you. Ask for Brittany, awesome waitress!!!
Service was not great. Food was meh.. a southern breakfast restaurant that doesnt serve biscuits and gravy... hmmm
Really like this place. Fair prices, generous portions of very good breakfast food.
Service was great and the food divine!
Food was great and the service was too. Has a great ambiance and I was expecting a lengthy wait but it wasn't long at all to get seated and then receive our food. Definitely recommend.
Good place for basic breakfast, the food is well prepared but the coffee is sub par
This place was awesome!! We ate on the patio and our waiter was the best!! We will eat breakfast here again before we go home. If you're in Orange Beach, AL you need to eat here!!
Great food awesome service I would recommend anybody coming to mobile to try the Ruby Slipper
We hit brunch, and it was amazing. The Trifecta was out of this world--Benedict three ways. Bring your appetite if you order it, though! Kids had the pancakes, and their eyes were bigger than their stomachs. The pancake flight lets you try them each way. Bloody Mary's are tasty and loaded, not so spicy that you can't drink it. Perfect breakfast spot.
I have been here a few times and always enjoy myself. The food is delicious and worth the trip. Today, I was greeted by Sabrina with welcome back. She is excellant and a pleasure. I felt very special. Thank you for a great visit.
Great food. Breakfast was good! Chicken eggs Benedict ****
Open seat but place us on waiting list.
Eggs Cochon is 6 stars.
Cant wait to go back! Everything was spot on and worth the wait. Gunna miss this place when i get home from vacation.
One of the best places we've tried for breakfast at the beach! The food selections were amazing and delicious. The service was wonderful and prompt. We will definitely be back! The best French toast I've ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Terrific breakfast, highly recommend heading here for breakfast.
The taste was okay kinda pricey always crowded and my food is always cold I’ve been three times and not once has my food been hot I would have sent it back but every time I go it takes so long after we order to get our food we never want to wait any longer to get new hot food I keep trying to give them more chances but I don’t see what all the hype is about!
Mishell gave great service! The food was excellent as always. We enjoy the grapefruit mimosa and the Bloody Mary.
One of the best breakfast I've had.
You lost my business this weekend when you told me I could not get food to go. You might as well have closed your doors to locals. We don't want to wait 30 minutes with the tourists to eat, and then sit in the most uncomfortable chairs created. Food is good, but I live a block away. I just want breakfast to go.
Very friendly staff, great brunch menu.
Food is very good, but do not sit by the windows on the south side until they add some shades. It’s too bright and too warm to sit comfortably.
Some of the best food we found from New Orleans to Orange beach, our favorite place!
A little disappointed that there was No hashbrowns or biscuit gravy. Limited breakfeast items.
I literally drive 10 hours to get to this restaurant because it's my absolute favorite it has the best food I have ever ate!
Great food - Jewel of a restaurant
Good food and good atmosphere great drinks
My grilled smoked salmon eggs benedict were absolutely devine. Loved, loved, loved it.
Great place for breakfast good good unique menu items
Loved! The food was DELICIOUS! They were a little slow, but our server was very informative on the status of our orders.
Best versions of eggs Benedict ever...Coffee had great flavor. You can buy a small sample of coffee beans to go. We ended up ordering from that coffee Co.
Excellent service and great food. Kimberly was a great and friendly waitress
The Florentine omelet and pancake were decent but the grits were sub par to say the least, and the service was horrible. Our server clearly did not want to be there.
One of my favorite breakfast spots in Gulf Shores!
The food was good, but lacked the Wow factor like the one in NOLA. Our server did a good job but must have had several tables to care for. Overall not bad.
Good food, service could be better. They get orders wrong often and don't answer the phones for call in orders. You have to call several times to get someone. When you go inside they are slow as well. If you are pressed for time don't go here.
Great quality and quantity of food. Everyone at our table left full. We had great service. The only drawback to this restaurant is the wait it that’s because they have such great food and great service. The price is fair for the meal your receive. I suggest you try it!
Service needs improving, a smile goes along way. Had to get her attention a couple of times for coffee refill. I was at the bar right in front of her. Food was fantastic, coffee great ,could be hotter. Not a fan of plastic wine glasses. I will be back but hope I have different server. Was treating my husband on fathers day. I will ask for a glass next time. Oh and need better chairs. No way to sit back and relax
The food and service was great. I got the pancakes with bacon, pecans, and caramel sauce...delicious. Grits not amazing to me but okay. Daughter enjoyed her kids pancake and bacon.
First time! Long wait, but worth it! Get the potatoes, they are DELISH
Woow the best breakfast I've had kids loved it
Better off going to McDonald’s. Couldn’t cook and egg right. Food was cold. Did not listen or communicate to management or cook of a severe food allergy.
Love the food, love the vibe! Great service, great food and a fantastic way to wrap up a girls' weekend!
Good food and it was a fun time
1st time visiting and I must say I'm impressed. Not only with the food but the service as well. Not overpriced and you get a good amount of food. Yelp waitlist was a great help.
Great food and experience. Only downside was that a few of us received filthy silverware in our napkin rolls.
All of the Ruby Slipper locations have excellent food and an excellent selection of food. They are only open for breakfast and brunch. There are almost an endless selection of omelettes, eggs benedicts, and pancakes. You can make up your own combinations! They serve VERY large portions. The prices are reasonable. Be prepared to wait. All of them are popular and almost always have a waiting list.
Atmosphere and food are OUTSTANDING. Angel was our server and was very pleasant. We definitely recommend this place for brunch.
Always great food. Friendly & helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended
Ruby slipper host invited us with a smile at the table, we had great service and incredible food! I tried the sausage muffin with poached egg plus the cinnemon toast - that looked like a big janga, nice touch on that!
Amazing food. We went two days in a row. The Costa Rican dish is the best.
Amazing food. Great staff. Light atmosphere. Only issue was the French toast was soggy with syrup.
It was so good! My eggs Benedict was savory and flavorful. My wife's BLT was amazing! My iced latte reminded me of New Orleans! Everything was just all around exceptionally good! Thank you all so much! Will come again!
Taste galore! Food quality is above average. Can literally TASTE the difference!
Excellent! They have a really great way of organizing their guest traffic and seating patrons swiftly. For my meal, I tried the crab cake benedict over a biscuit. Everything was great.
The best place for breakfast in Gulf Shores! The bacon infused bloody Mary is awesome!
Breakfast margarita is yummy! Food was good- pancakes and French toast and grits were delicious and big, eggs were suspect. I ordered scrambled with cheese and the cheese just came sprinkled on top not melted.
Very delicious! We recommend the Bloody Mary's and mimosas.
Tasty Food, Excellent Service, Fast Seating
Overpriced. Not the most tasteful. Server had a nasty attitude. Spot of tea is way better. No reservations but you can sign up on yelp and wait from home? Seems like a reservation to me.
Food was great. Only take away was that we had to sit on a bar situation. Therefore could not converse with other 3 members. Asked to sit at a table next to bar, and was told it was not available. It was open the entire time we were there, just needed to be cleaned.
First time visit. Have been wanting to try the pancakes. They were incredible. Portion size was great. Food all around was very tasty, service was great and their texting your table was ready was awesome. My only complaint was the price of their drinks. I had a couple -- cranberry mimosa and Irish Coffee -- both priced at $10 each. Enjoyed everything, even the expensive drinks. Will definitely return.
Excellent food and service! Strong coffee, just the way I like it. Lots of delicious options on the menu, making it hard to choose. I don't think you can go wrong though. I had BBQ shrimp and grits. My husband had the trifecta, three different Bennie's. Lots of food, so plan on to go box or split.
Great experience and great food.
Took (Adult) Family of 5 for late Breakfast/Early Lunch. 1st time visitor to The Ruby Slipper. Numerous selections on the menu with emphasis on Creole style recipes, so a bit of an adventure for us all. We selected entrees ranging from Banana Pudding French Toast to Creole Ruben Sandwich...all in party liked our selections and shared a bite with eavh other. Mid-priced with total food sub-total @ $73...$98 with tax & tip.
Good food and service
The food is good, certainly better than any chain restaurant and most mom-n-pop places. The the chef does a nice job putting flavors on a plate that work well together. The pancakes aren't as fluffy as I prefer. Our server was fair. Friendly, but seemed more interested in getting off work on time than insuring we had a good experience. We arrived before 1pm, more than an hour before closing time. I recommend this place for breakfast or brunch.
Delicious food. Service a little slow. Had the Cochon Benedict.
Very friendly atmosphere and great food. Bloody Mary with bacon infusion is a great way to start the day.
If you are into the brunch scene it is your must stop. The staff were so friendly but not overbearing, the food was perfectly portioned, priced, and positively delicious, and the drinks while a little on the strong side are a lovely company to your meal.
Service was fast and friendly. Food was amazing. I had the gulf shrimp omelet and it was the highlight of my trip.
Got there (1:15pm) shortly before closing (2pm) and they rushed to get me out of the door. Food was good.
Pleasant atmosphere great service awesome selection of food
Go early as it gets full real quick! Original southern breakfast and corned beef hash. Service was quick and server was brilliant. Must eat brunch there!
Good coffee, rich stuffed French Toast, friendly service...and outside tables were comfortable and quiet...great way to start the day...what's not to like?
The whole concept of blasting everything with over-the-top salty-sweet flavors may appeal to those with unsophisticated palates, but I did not enjoy my meal or experience there. Sorry. This place is not for me. I went there specifically for some eggs benedict which I have enjoyed at many restaurants. I did not enjoy it here. The "hollandaise" sauce had no subtlety - way too mayonnaisey/lemony. Do you always make it that way? You ruined it. THROW IT OUT AND TRY AGAIN UNTIL YOU GET IT RIGHT. The benedict mash-ups with everything under the sun are NOT good eats. Not recommended for civilized people. It may sound like a neat idea, but the sum of the parts ruins the whole. Slopping on shrimp, pulled pork, corned beef, or salmon is idiotic and ruined what could have been a fine plate of eggs benedict (if the sauce wasn't so screwed up). Get that stuff as a separate meal later. The cleanliness and quality of the ingredients was fine. The service was fine. The place was busy and loud as all heck (my fault for going on a Saturday brunch).
Omg.... I cannot say enough good things about this place! Always a stop in Mobile AL now! Or twice !
My wife and I went in for a light lunch/brunch about 10:30am trying to get to the beach on a nice day. No wait though it was crowded. I ordered a restaurant special Rueben, my wife got a restaurant special BLT. Neither were well-seasoned. Both seemed to be served on stalish bread. Either toast it or serve fresh please. The meat, lettuce and tomatoes were all piled up in the middle of the sandwiches. Spread that stuff out! The wait staff was social, with us and each other. Overall a solid C plus rating.
Idk I was hyped about going here after friends and family talked about this place. Was a little disappointed. Maybe it was the dish I picked. Will try again in the future to see if my opinion will change.
Loved it. Great food wonderful atmosphere
We just ate here and all I can do is say “OMG!!” Ruby mimosa’s we’re strong and awesome! Food was excellent! Server was Mishelle and she was wonderful! She recommended her favorite menu items ....everything was made from scratch in the kitchen and she was spot on! Don’t listen to the negative reviews....go here...AWESOMENESS to the taste buds! Bring a wagon to pile into once you’re done cause you’ll need a nap and some help dragging your body out! Food and drink coma! Price was great!
Very good food, friendly service but the wait time was a little long. Definitely recommend.
Very good food
Loved it! Delicious food, Benedict's were great. Blood Mary and mimosas were very tasty. Really good coffee too.
I love this place some of the best eggs Benedict available
Bacon Infused Bloody Mary's, whoo they are good, the food is amazing also
I was super excited to try all the eggs Benedict so we got 2 of the Peacemakers. It's where you can mix and match any 2Benedict. On one we got the Boogaloo shrimp, it came with very little sauce and only 3small shrimp, and the Hot Smoked Salmon which also came with very little sauce. On the other plate we had the Corned Beef which I liked and the Eggs Cochon which was VERY salty. The biscuits were really thick and tough on the outside, hence the need need for more sauce than provided. Overall it was just ok! I did see some other items that I would like to try on another visit. I hope it will be redemption for this visit or I won't be returning anymore.
Though the food and service was great the hostesses were sitting groups when the entire group was not there. Which according to the sign inside of your estsestablish is a NO. The hostesses made no effort to keep us informed of what was going on or even offer coffee. We also had two children in our group. The hostesses need more training.
I gave one star and be thankful you got that cause if I had my choice you would of got none. Me and my wife ate there for the first time . I got sick and puked. We wont be back .
The food is great. The staff is wonderful but the portions are way too large. Offer more smaller snowbird meals.
Highly recommend this place!! Great food! Loved everything about it. Definitely going to go back
Stopped here for lunch after a quick trip for lotto tickets. Busy, but no wait. The service was excellent and so was the food. I had the shrimp and grits. The biscuit was the best part of the meal. We sat inside and it’s a bit loud in there. The price was reasonable for the amount of food I was served.
Amazing breakfast and lunch food. Staff is friendly and helpful. Well worth the trip.
Love the southern breakfast
My new favorite brunch spot. Please bring one to huntsville! Fantastic. Sebrena was super nice too. Great service.
EVERYTHING was perfect my kids andI ate everything and that is a lot to say being that we are all very picky. Very generous portions great taste.
Well done!!! Great service and excellent food. Try the Trifecta which is plenty for two! Great Bloody Mary's. All six of us enjoyed our meals and time spent at this fun breakfast and lunch restaurant!
I hear about this place and finally had the opportunity to go. It's small, cozy and charming. They have great mimosas as well as other adult beverages. They also have soft drinks and fruit juices. It is a wait, the atmosphere, food and drinks are worth it. Great staff who warmly greet you, know the menu, ready to give you their opinions, if asked. It was brunch when we went. It was a large party, but they were able to sit us all comfortably together. We were there for brunch, but i'm told the breakfast and lunch are just as tasty! Looking forward to go again!!
The service was so-so. The atmosphere was nice. The food was phenomenal! I was undecided on the Benedicts, so I went for a split option. This was definitely some of the best food I've ever tasted.
The food was excellent. I loved the atmosphere, and the waitress was very friendly. I would definitely come back again
