Great customer service and food

Ridiculously delicious. The atmosphere is totally breakfast joint, but the food is a fancy/hippie hybrid and its perfection. The omelettes are baked instead of fried and it creates these amazing fluffy egg miracles that I can not seem to stop thinking about. I'm told there is nothing that isn't amazing on their menu, and I believe it. The negative-the parking lot is small and I can see how parking could be a struggle during peak times. Im under the impression that the place jams out on the weekend, and I have no idea where all those people park. It was also kind of expensive. For 2 omelettes we paid ~$45, which is a boatload if money for some veggies and eggs. But it was paid for by work and we loved it, so I'm not too upset. I can see how that may keep me from going there too frequently though.

Decent location in downtown. Pancakes are excellent and obviously the star of the show. Omelette are massive and fluffy but could be seasoned better. Eggs cooked were cooked a bit more to order and the sausage patties were dry and overcooked. The sausage links and bacon were prepared well. Good spot for breakfast but be prepared for a spell.

I have been to this place many times. Their French toast is great and so are their pancakes and bacon. I tried the Swedish pancakes yesterday, and they tasted like what you scrape out of a pan between pancakes. Not recommended. Someone else at the table ordered corned beef hash. It was inedible.

The new owner is very stingy the taste of pancakes the same but they have gotten Thinner and Smaller ! Always trying to cut corners but that isnt always good Business!! I have eaten here many years ! But im not liking thinner cakes and smaller sooner or later others will notice and it might affect your Business Later.Ask yourself is Saving a Couple Dollars or coins worth loosing your Customers to Quality of Food?

I can just say this place was ok. We couldnt tell there was free parking behind the building so my husband got quarters for the parking meter from the register in the restaurant itself. Which they could of told him there was free parking in the back. The waitress was not very attentive and always short, to the point and never made eye contact. The food was ok as well. We like going to new and different places just so we know what we like and dont like. I'm sorry to say that we will not be going there again. Thank you

The best pancakes I have EVER had. Wonderful servers and hostesses. Welcoming atmosphere, sunny yellow & blue interior, very clean. You can tell they really care about the food and customers. Coffee is great, everything is real, down to the cream in a little pitcher. And the staff works together very well, friendly, like it's a good place to be not just a job. My friend told me the sourdough flapjacks were amazing, and they are seriously a spiritual experience. IHOP needs to take a seat.

I eat at this restaurant a ton in our home town. First time I visited this restaurant in this location. The service was good, but our food was well below their standards. Our pancakes had to be cooked twice before they were correct. Even then we had to settle for what was served. Our waitress said she didn't know why the kitchen was having so hard a time with a very easy order.

I currently work here. The servers, kitchen staff and manager (Nita) are amazing. Great team work. Prepare for a wait on the weekends between 9am,and 1pm, but it's WELL worth the wait. It's crowded, with limited seating. They close at 2pm during the week and 2:30pm on weekends.

Great breakfast place. Plenty of food for the money, and tasty. I had the bacon pancakes...yes, they put bacon in the batter and cooked it. They also had many other ways to get your pancakes; strawberry, banana, blueberry, apple, even pineapple. But not just pancakes, they have waffles, crepes, omelettes, and all the usual breakfast meats and such. Friendly staff, decent prices, good food and lots of it.

Lives up to the hype! Be sure an look for the Egg Specials on the menu because they come with 3 pancakes! I got eggs and bacon and added blueberries to my pancakes. Breakfast was delicious and service was fast and friendly. Plenty of refills on my coffee! As a big fan of breakfast I enjoyed my experience here.

Wow! What an excellent breakfast. I had my basic favorites, eggs over medium, bacon, and pancakes. My eggs were cooked perfectly; the bacon also cooked perfectly (many places don't cook their bacon thoroughly), and the pancakes....some of the best I have had. They were tender, light, and delicious. I was here early on a Wednesday morning so no waiting and high-speed friendly service. I highly recommend.

Nice cozy breakfast spot. I ordered the Dutch Baby and my friend ordered the peach pancakes both of which were good. I'd recommend passing on the cheese grits as they were very bland and lacking of any flavor. Waitstaff was somewhat distracted and distant, and not very friendly--not sure if they were short staffed, but the place wasn't that busy while we were there. The atmosphere is very casual, different from the trendy brunch spots, which was refreshing. You can definitely tell that this is a local establishment with some regulars.

Hey, this place got on the USA Today for best pancake places. They live up to their namesake. Great waiter made it all the better, explaining the "can-be-overwhelming" menu down to a basic level so I could make the best judgement about what to get. The prices were a bit high, but hey, what can you really do about that? That's how life goes. Still, quality -- and quantity -- made it worth it.

I'm new to the area and stopped in for breakfast. It's an old-school diner feel fronting out onto the Five Points streets and the staff was industrious, efficient, and charming. I had the blueberry pancakes, which were a near-perfect execution of the classic pancake style. It's a vibrant atmosphere and really seems part of the neighborhood.

Fabulous Pancakes!! Chocolate Chip pancakes are the best ever!!!!!! Only recommendation is for the table and chairs to be wiped down because nobody wants to sit in someone’s leftovers. However, it’s a great place for breakfast.

Lives up to the hype! Be sure an look for the Egg Specials on the menu because they come with 3 pancakes! I got eggs and bacon and added blueberries to my pancakes. Breakfast was delicious and service was fast and friendly. Plenty of refills on my coffee! As a big fan of breakfast I enjoyed my experience here.

The French crepes we had were not good and made me feel kind of sick afterwards. The waitress was nice, but we watched multiple tables get there food before us and my side dish was cold once we did get it.

Wow! What an excellent breakfast. I had my basic favorites, eggs over medium, bacon, and pancakes. My eggs were cooked perfectly; the bacon also cooked perfectly (many places don't cook their bacon thoroughly), and the pancakes....some of the best I have had. They were tender, light, and delicious. I was here early on a Wednesday morning so no waiting and high-speed friendly service. I highly recommend.

Hey, this place got on the USA Today for best pancake places. They live up to their namesake. Great waiter made it all the better, explaining the "can-be-overwhelming" menu down to a basic level so I could make the best judgement about what to get. The prices were a bit high, but hey, what can you really do about that? That's how life goes. Still, quality -- and quantity -- made it worth it.

I'm new to the area and stopped in for breakfast. It's an old-school diner feel fronting out onto the Five Points streets and the staff was industrious, efficient, and charming. I had the blueberry pancakes, which were a near-perfect execution of the classic pancake style. It's a vibrant atmosphere and really seems part of the neighborhood.

Fabulous Pancakes!! Chocolate Chip pancakes are the best ever!!!!!! Only recommendation is for the table and chairs to be wiped down because nobody wants to sit in someone’s leftovers. However, it’s a great place for breakfast.

Came here on Monday afternoon on a recent trip to Birmingham and got an order of pancakes with eggs a bacon. The pancakes were fluffy and the bacon was big and crispy so I don't really have any complaints on the food. My waitress was very friendly and attentive and I received great service all around. The place could be a bit cleaner though. My table wasn't wiped off completely and the floors needed to be swept.

I moved to Birmingham in 1998 went to school at UAB went to this place several times. It was always good back in the day. Today was my birthday so I decided to go down this morning around 9 and have a special treat. I have not been to this place in over 15 years it is just as good as I remember it I ordered the western omelet and it was as big as the plate and absolutely delicious you always get a side of the buttermilk pancakes and they were just as good as I remember. This restaurant has here in downtown Birmingham Five Points area for over 20 years great place to have breakfast great menu put this on your bucket list of places to eat

I had hot tea and was charged for an extra tea bag !! ( total of 2 ) breakfast was over 100 with tip and no alcoholic beverages . Poached eggs were runny, toast was overly toasted, cheese grits had no real cheese. Would not go back

They were a little crowded, but only because their food is amazing. The workers were a little busy to pay a lot of attention to you, but they were nice nonetheless. The service was as fast as I think it could have been with such a large crowd. I would recommend going on days that are not as crowded or early in the morning to bypass all of the traffic. I would still definitely recommend this place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch!

Combos on menu were a bit confusing and didn't like that if you forget to pay your bill at the table you're forced to walk back through the crowded aisles to your seat, sit down and wait for your waiter, even when no one is in line at the front. Seemed dumb. We still had a great time and our waiter was exceptional. Wish I remembered the tall Caucasian guy's name.

These guys simply cannot cook poached eggs correctly. They are either undercooked with clear glistening whites inside or cooked hard like hard- boiled eggs. I keep going back and being disappointed again again so I've decided it's my own fault for even trying. It just seems to me that a breakfast place should be able to cook poached eggs correctly.

The customer service was terrible . Had to wait for 30 minutes and then on top of that the waitress was not nice . She didn’t ask us what we wanted to drink nor did she introduce herself . The manager was very nasty and disrespectful. We had to wait on are food for 2 hours and when we asked questions about it the manager caught an attitude with us and was very non professional. When I received my food I found a hair in my food as well after waiting for 2 hours . I highly recommend not to go here and will not be going back at all .
