Well, I was excited to finally try Saw’s but I won’t be going back. Not to this location anyway. We ordered and got our food to go. The salad picture below was $12. It had a great flavor, but virtually no lettuce and the “croutons” in the second picture were rock hard giant chunks of cornbread. My dog could not even break them apart and boy did she try. Disappointed in a local favorite.

First time today. Cheeseburger was fantastic. Loved sitting at the bar, watching Asa cook. Met the owner. Everyone made us feel welcome. Great food.

This place is the neighborhood feel that you want. I got some ribs that were a special HANDS DOWN THE BEST IN THE CITY. Tender smoke on pint bark not much but they don’t need very honest taste. The ribs were huge too not just the cut but thickness!!!! My spot for sure!!

Wow! How Awesome to have another Saw’s in Birmingham! Located in the old Fat Sam’s location, this place is the answer to everyone’s question, “Where is the Food Truck, Today?” They have the Pork & Greens w/ cheese grits and Fried Onion Straws, the Sweet Tea Chicken Sandwich, BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad, & Smoked Chicken Wings w/ White BBQ sauce!! Also, happily at this location is Alcohol!! Mixed Drinks, White Wine, Red Wine, Sparkling Cava Brut, Cava Brut Rośe, Draft Beer and Canned Beer! So, yes! They do the fried stuff, and Baker’s (Gigantic Baked Potato’s) and even Cheeseburgers!! Hurry in while there’s still room to get a seat! Tell them Corinna sent you!

Saw's has tasty & unique recipes. A hole in the wall place that focuses on doing one thing right: Southern BBQ. Took some West Coast friends here & they fell in love with the food. The pulled pork is truly one of the most flavorful you'll find anywhere. Try the sweet tea fried chicken, it's pickled heaven!

White sauce, pork, fried green tomatoes and greens were all good here. Can't wait to try more stuff. Different Saw's locations seem to be better at different items but it remains to be seen how Southside will shake out. Much less busy right now than the other locations so check it out while it's less crowded!

Everything is so good here, good luck in choosing your plate of perfection. My faves are the grits and greens, pulled pork sandwich and their cheeseburger is dripping with deliciousness. Wear stretchy pants and thank me later!

Saw's BBQ is everything that's right about Birmingham. While the new location doesn't have the charm of Saw's Juke Joint in Avondale, not being tiny and loud and crowded, it's nice and new and clean while serving the same delicious food. They even serve liquor and wine and beer, if you want that. Was not disappointed.

We drive in all the way from Atlanta just for Saw's Soul Food Kitchen, but we saw the new location and had to check it out. It did not disappoint! The hushpuppies are truly amazing and the wings are some of the best I have ever eaten in my life! The staff are awesome, helpful, and so friendly

Awesome BBQ pork! The meat was tender and sauce was delicious - light and flavorful with just a hint of "heat". I had the sandwich combo with sweet potato fries and sweet tea. I honestly believe the sweet potato fries were the best I've ever eaten! You simply must try them. The sweet tea was wonderful. I love my tea Southern sweet, and Saw's is great! This was my first time to Saw's, but I will be back!

Good BBQ, but wear old clothes 'cause you're gonna smell like smoke. Don't know if the pit doesn't draw well, or they don't wipe off the tables and chairs often enough to get rid of the smell.

This is a very cool and delicious barbecue joint. There's not a lot of room inside but they make up with some really good food. I had the barbecue sandwich and fries and it was some of the most tender BBQ I've eaten. Several others at our table had their loaded potatoes which they said we're delicious and looked really good. One of the other people in our party had the meatloaf sandwich and boy did it look . They have a garlic herb french fry on their menu, but don't be be alarmed about how they look, the garlic sauce is a liquid form versus a powder, but they are delicious. If you're on this side of Birmingham and you can try them out, do.

I had the Fat Sam. What a great sandwich! It was big and bold! Sweet like an Affair and rich and favorable like a Dragon's Belly! The service was attentive but, much to my disappointment, not opinionated. However, the place was tastefully draped in Blazer pride. Thanks Saws for a great experience. And, thanks for a beautifully authentic sandwich, worthy of its name.
