Roosters offers a different take on Latin food from your typical Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant -- excellent grilled burritos, imaginative salads, tasty tacos (homemade tortillas!) and refreshing margaritas. It's different, but if you love Mexican, you'll feel right at home here.

Went here when they first opened and was not impressed. BUT, went for lunch yesterday to give them a second chance and was very pleased. It's exponentially better. Classic, well-prepared Latin food with fresh, creative combinations of ingredients. Definitely recommend.

If you order the steak tacos to go be ready to have it COMPLETELY WRONG!!! If they weren't closed I would take it back!! I asked for the tacos to be wrapped in foil with everything else on the side so it wont be soggy. Why did this idoit wrap the tacos in foil with the meat on the tacos!! So now the corn taco shell is all soggy! I asked for chimichurri sauce on the side and this genius puts parsley JUST parsley in a cup! You would think that a place that sells tacos everyday all day would know how to make a to go order. The first order I made they did the same thing minus the chimichurri sauce, feta cheese, and the onions! JUST MEAT AND A SOGGY CORN TACO SHELL!! The service is awesome when your actually at the restaurant but just dont get anything to go.

Tacos are excellent! Especially the shrimp. Tortillas are made fresh. A variety of flavorful salsas are available. However, the three margaritas I tried left a lot to be desired. The alcohol is just dumped on top of the slightly better than barely tolerable mix. Food is a bit pricey for the portion size. Oddly, chips & salsa are not on the house, as traditional the case with restaurants of this type, and are more expensive than the tacos.

Had the mahi mahi sandwich...i was so happy i picked it from the menu because it was hard to choose. Cooked perfectly and everything went together perfectly DELICIOUS!!! I also tried a coffee oatmeal stout from good people brewing(Birmingham) also very good!

Im argentinian. My husband is mexican. What they call chimichurri is guacamole with basil, INSULTING. Their AL PASTOR has no achiote on their mix. Never coming back again, what a disrespectful place for our latin american food.

The tortilla chips tasted homemade. Guacamole was fresh, topped tastefully and was great. Tomatillo salsa was OK, stick with the reds. Much better. Cuban sammy was toasty, juicy and full of Alabama pulled pork goodness. Got the munchies downtown? It’ll fill the bill. I had the Fish Taco and Pork Taco. Both were outstanding! Very simple but very, very good. If in Mobile, you’ve got to stop by!

Customer service was very good! Ambiance for the restaurant wasn’t bad either. I think best part of our meal was seafood gumbo. Deep fried calamari on top of the gumbo I think was very good!

A neat little 'Mexican' restaurant in revamped downtown Mobile. Specializing in Latin American cuisine, our family of 6 felt comfortable here sitting at the big picnic table upfront. Each dish had own unique flavor. We had fish tacos and surf turf burrito. Kids menu was ok. Fries are steak style fries. First burger was slightly undercooked but chef quickly prepared another. Overall, fresh food, good family friendly atmosphere, good service.

Had excellent fish tacos (mahi mahi) with plantains. The place was crowds but they seated me right away and service was fast. Prices reasonable and food was great. So, my earlier review (shortly after they opened) pretty much panned it. I posted a few weeks back about how a second visit they redeemed themselves. Now I went again and behold - several new menu options.... even better than before. Quickly becoming one of my favorite places.

Ate here recently and it was pretty decent. I had the Barbacoa brisket tacos. The brisket was ok and the portion was too little for the price. Also tried the chips and queso. Queso was very good. Chips were more like store bought so wasn't a fan of those. Otherwise service was great and servers were attentive.

The food was flavored perfectly. Service was great. I had 2 waitresses check that I was happy with the food which showed me they actually cared. I had to wait about 15 min for the special today, but not bad considering they had a 10 top enter before me. Well worth the wait. I will be back and recommend to try this place out if you haven't.

Below average, truly. I had a salad that was disappointing. While the chicken was ok, the salad portion was small for what it cost. My friends had the nachos that were tasteless, with hardly any toppings. Service was non existent. We had to ask the waitress to bring us silverware and when it came time to pay she mixed up who ordered what. Won't be back for sure.

Cheese sauce taste like chz sauce from taco bell. The roasted salsa and the guacamole dip was good. The brisket taco was burnt, and flaky like it was burnt pulled pork. The seared tuna taco was awful. It was medium well almost well done and the cabbage was sweet and the protein was salty. A good fish taco has to have a kind of fruity cabbage chutney and their fish taco was creamy sweet cabbage like coleslaw,almost spit it back out.price was moderate. I wont be coming back.

8/23/2019@ 2pm-The lady behind the cash register did not hand me my last Keno ticket I paid for and ended up giving the ticket to someone else, she didn't even apologize or show any sympathy, i noticed she never smiled, looks like we were a burden to her, but that's how all these young adults act, they don't want too work, will never be back to this Rooster, I will drive farther to the Georgetown location.

Good food and friendly staff. I ordered the Italian sub and it was delicious. My husband ordered the wings. I tried one of them, they were good and they were big. They weren't the small tiny size wings that other places have. I really like the down home waitress too. It wasn't an expensive place. I recommend you try this place out!

This location is notoriously slow. 3rd visit and yep very slow. Not slow because it's packed house or anything. Normal capacity for a restaurant without a wait time. 30mins from giving order to getting food. That's a bit extreme for burgers and chicken tenders.

The servers are very attentive to customers needs and quick to be there with your order and check back with you frequently. Great wings, great drink prices, great service and a check that leaves you room to tip great....how can you go wrong!? In the need to call an order in? No problem. I went during Mardi Gras, but it wasnt my first time visiting this cute, LOCALLY owned Tex/Mex restaurant...great for a quick bite...or for a place to kill time, hang w the "Mr. Or Mrs.'s" or like I did...fine all alone. The foods always good. The folks are hipster cool peeps. But not on a bad way. They have a bar, outdoor dining, and a good selection of libations. Bienville Square is directly across the street so if u dinr out doors soak in the views. All in all great lil joint. They even have good coffee. Cheers!

I'm vegan but my family is not. It's hard treating ourselves to a nice meal out for vegan options. I had so many options I was excitedly overwhelmed. If you're craving for some Latin American food you gotta visit the Roosters! Barbacoa Steak and Spicy Brisket Tacos. *Note* You'll only get one piece of each taco and it's really small too, so if you're really hungry you'll have to order more! The tacos were delicious but nothing amazing about them I'd say. Jerk Chicken and Rice and Beans plates with veggies. The rice was seasoned very well and both dishes were very delicious. I really love the beans too!! Sides: Avocado Salad and Plantains were also amazing. Do give it a try! I like that the price is very affordable and I highly recommend!

Chips and salsa was very good. The food and service was so so. My Barbacoa taco was all fat, they removed it from my bill. My son didn't care for his chicken burrito. I felt like their time wasn't cooked right, it was in his burrito, may have been the problem. Their house margarita was also not very good, very tart, not much bite to it.

I've never had a bad experience here. Yesterday I got a takeout order. My brother lives 5 minutes from there. They told me my food will be done in 20. I was there in 15 minutes to pick up my food. Got back to my brother's house and looked at my salad. It was almost all the way wilted. I always get a salad when I go in. Love their salads. But if you order takeout. Do not get the salads. I suggest to always eat in. Because they do have amazing salads. When fresh.

Overall, I had a pretty good experience today at Roosters. The service was slow as snails running an Olympic race; however, the wings were great. The party I was with were co-workers. Often we found ourselves looking at our watch wondering if the waitress took a long break. Outside of slow service during lunchtime again, the food was great, great atmosphere, friendly staff and great location!

Excellent spot for lunch or dinner in Downtown Mobile. The menu offers a wide variety of Spanish inspired cuisine, and their powerful selection of Craft Beer ensures even discerning tastes are pleased. Ambiance is relaxed but fun, and the staff is great, even with kids. High recommend, and we will continue coming in whenever we are on the Mobile side of the Bay.

We stumbled across Rooster's on a recent visit to the historic downtown Mobile area.It's a quirky, unique taco joint that makes their own tortillas. Everything is extremely fresh. Fresh seafood, fresh tortillas. They even take their time on the beans and rice...best I've had since Silvio's Brazilian Restaurant on the Hermosa Beach Pier.

Well today's lunch adventure was at Roosters Great and quick service. That hibiscus margarita was just a right blend of tequila, agave and hibiscus juice. Absolutley delicious. The mahi and gulf shrimp ceviche had good flavors of lime with a tinge of spice. I added their homemade Arbor spicy sauce which took my appetizer to another deliciousness level. Another great choice.

Service is usually consistent. Food is always hot, tasty, and with generous portions. However, my last visit was not good. My wife and I were seated at a table in the bar area, usually never a problem, however, we were seated for a minimum of ten minutes waiting for a server. Numerous people walked by, no offer of water, service, beer, etc. This should never happen, especially when the place is NOT busy. We got up, told the hostess about the lack of service and acknowledgement and left. I will honestly have to think twice about returning considering how annoying it is to be completely ignored by numerous members of the staff.

Went to this location at 10:30pm on 9/20/18 waited what seem like for ever for our waitress to acknowledge us. Food wasn’t right, chicken cooked in old grease. Order a pitcher of a strawberry Margarita it was very thick liquid for it to have been on the rocks. I will never go back to location again. Also our waitress left didn’t introduce us to the new waitress that took over. Communication sucks !!!!

Came here post-Keeneland to watch NCAA games. Horrible service, could not get waitress to remove finished appetizer plates, fill water glasses or provide decent service. Games in full swing and once a bill was brought out before we were done- the game audio was turned off to nudge us to leave...even though 6 more tables were just seated! Had to move to another area of the restaurant to finish our drinks. We got to local Roosters in Louisville frequently and were shocked by the poor treatment.

Best hole in the wall find in a while in a revamped vibrant downtown Mobile Alabama. Some great looking places were closed since it was Monday but Roosters rocked. Service,fun, atmosphere and fab food. Best house margaritas besides my own. Super busy on Monday right after work for Marg specials. Sure the same way for taco Tuesday. If you come before 6 could be a 15 minute wait. Totally worth it. After that. No sweat. Servers care and make sure you feel that way. Will stop Everytime I come through Mobile.

The food is good, but I don't know that I would really pick it of you're looking for a variety of Latin American food. I'm Latino and a lot of the food that I was hoping to eat from back home are not menu items. The atmosphere is good, the waiters/waitresses are very kind and professional, but the menu, for a Latin American restaurant, leaves a lot to be desired. Pro tip: add things like Red/Pinto beans, fried plantains, sopao, etc. The food is great, the prices are very reasonable, but I wish they had more of the Latin food.

By far the best wings in Lexington and it is not really close. It's basically Hooters but more family friendly. I don't think I've ever had so many great waiters over the years. A group of friends and I have been going here on and off for the past almost 5 years. Wings are great. Sides are amazing. Has something for everyone. Went there to watch the Titans game today, ordered a beer, fried pickles, and some wings while at the bar. The food was good, but after it was all delivered and I started eating, the manager went around to the TVs and changed all of the channels away from the Titans game. One customer exclaimed "We were watching that!" To which the manager replied "I'm sure you were" and didn't bat an eye. In the end I paid $28 (including tip) to not even watch the game I went there for. There are plenty of better options in lexington.

My best friend was there to watch the OSU game on her birthday and I couldnt be there. I would have never expected that type of service in a million years. Chris allowed for me to give my best friend something special from miles away. Her and I love roosters. Its nice to have a place around that you can create your own pizza and still get a burger at the same time. Plus if you like beer they have pitchers for five dollars on Thursday. That's pretty cool itself. Along with there mixed drinks you can only get there it's a good place to "grab a cold one". This is a family restaurant so please keep that in mind. Don't go there expecting to drink like a fish. They will accommodate you. This place is GREAT! I've asked for a burrito that wasn't on the menu and they put it together for me it was delicious. Where else can l get a delicious spicy grilled vegetable taco in a soft corn tortilla basted in oil and lime at 9:30 pm? We ate outdoors on funky Dauphin Street where service was quick and friendly, really professional (unlike some places that neglect their outdoor tables). Definitely recommend!

I had lunch here with my parents, and my step dad is on a walker. I thought it was very thoughtful that they sat us closest to the door even though it was a six top and we were a party of three. The waitress was nice and knew my parents as frequent customers, so she was ready to take our food order with our drink order. Drinks and food came prompt and correct.

I went to Rooster's with my wife to watch the UK basketball game. Go Cats! We arrived about 30 minutes before the game and were told there was going to be a 35 minute wait. 55 minutes later and after the game started we were finally seated. I know it's difficult on game day to determine who is staying and who is leaving but it is better to overestimate. Our server was nice but our food took exceptionally long to arrive at our table and once it did it had already cooled to the point where I couldn't tell how long it had been sitting in the window. Our over all experience was not very satisfactory and the only saving grace was our team won the game.

Just visiting Louisville for work, but the food here great. This was the first time I have actually gone to the restaurant, although it was only to pick up an order to take it back to the office. The staff was nice and cheerful. The only problem is the parking lot and entrances. Kinda confusing and kinda cluttered - but it was very busy.

This was the worst service I have had in a while. Several servers were sitting at table with guests instead of taking care of customers. I was never asked if I needed a refill and never got a refill. After repeatedly being ignored by our waitress my husband had to get a get a togo box from the servers station on his own. I will not go back

This place is amazing!! The food has been good every time I have went there, but the service is not consistent. It's hit or miss. But the worst waitress there has been Ajahnae. She is slow and has no respect for her customers. She let us sit with empty drinks the whole time pretty much. So long that my mom got up and got all of our drinks for all 7 us! We asked another waitress and she said she would let Ajahnae know about our empty drinks before we filled our own. We watched her tell her and she walked the other way and didn't come back. Then it took us forever to get our check!!! Recommend not going to her.

Well I’ve been there a couple times before and it was pretty good. Tonight, not so much. The two blondes up front ignored us for 5 minutes then tried to seat a couple who just walked in while we stood there. Then she reluctantly sat us....at a dirty table. They proceeded to stare at us and talk smack from their hostess perch. We got up and left.

ok, best fried pickles ever. wings were awesome had Thai chili wings. mother in law said it was the best burger ever eaten in a restaurant. it was our first time there we drove from somerset for an event but will be coming back just to eat here again in the near future glad they had healthy options for my one year old on kids meal oranges and applesauce if your wanting wings don't go anywhere else would be a great place to watch the game

This place is a hot dumpster fire. Spent $45 and the only thing decent were the appetizers. The wings weren't horrible, they were just barely sauced. The curly fries had absolutely no seasoning, or really any flavor at all. The fish sandwich was also as bland as could be. The fish inside the breading didn't even taste like fish. It had no flavor whatsoever. Super disappointed for my first time there. I really do not recommend this place.

I was there with a decent size group. The kitchen wasnt properly notified of the size order, as a server at a busy sports bar I know that when you have a large order telling the kitchen what will come is easiest. Needless to say once everyone's food came out we were satisfied. All but maybe 3 out of 24 meals had to be fixed. I prefer the one on Dixie any day still.

I want to give 5 stars. But we waited for 45mins for our food... patiently. We were about to ask for our food to-go. Then finally our food arrives and it's the manager who brings it out. He apologized because they had some drama in the kitchen amongst his staff. It was just annoying that, that had affected their service and getting food out to customers in a timely manner. He took 50% off. Which we thanked him for and stayed polite the whole time. Because we are understanding. Now FOOD talk... 2 cajun chicken sandwiches and bacon cheese wedges and pizza. It was refreshing that the food was actually great! We will be coming back for round 2. Considering this was our 1st time eating at Roosters.
