09/12/19 around 6:30pm. Surprisingly not busy for the time. Three stars because our server (Ethan?) was extremely polite, apologetic about the wait, and for my husband missing part of his entree ($29 Seafarer's). Food was awkwardly spread out over his plate to make it look full. Ethan fixed that super quick when we brought it to his attention. Lobster was super overcooked (like chewing on rubber bands) and so were the scallops. Creamy Lang. & Norway Lobster Mashed Potatoes came out as an actual icecream scoop shape with 3 pieces of lobster (definitely not like the menu picture, not sure what happened there, maybe they were running low). So either the kitchen was understaffed or there wasn't an expediter. Don't plan on going back because of the food quality, not our server. He was great.

As always, the food was great and our server was excellent. Only downsides were the server on the other side of the restaurant who apparently thought everyone in the place wanted to hear every word of his long and rambling and I'm fairly certain, entirely unwanted conversation with the poor unfortunate souls seated in his section. Somebody needs to explain the concept of "inside voices" to this wannabe football coach. The restroom was an exercise in futility as the low water pressure and auto-off taps made it impossible to remove the buttery remains of Crab Fest from my hands. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal and will return. I just hope we never get seated in "Mr. Loud's" section!

I ordered endless shrimp, received entree st then salad arrived. I ordered refills and after 20 min I gave up. The manager comped my meal but this was the worst experience ever in any restaurant. I wont go back there again.

Service was slow even though the restaurant was more than half empty. Took 10 min to just get our drinks ordered. Biscuits didn't show up until halfway through our meal and after having to ask several times. Most of the food was overcooked. Seafood was rubbery, steak was ordered medium and was brown all the way through. Cauliflower gratin was like a soup, except I had no spoon. Flavors were good and everything was served hot.

I am done with this place... 3rd time we have been here in the last year or two and it was terrible. All around. The service was slow, bad slow, the wait to get seated was about an hour and the place was half full, the problem was too few waiters for the crowd. We had a party of 12 adults and 4 kids, which I understand was probably bigger than what they try to accommodate. BUT at the same time they designated a small room and 2 waitress for us, so you would have thought that they had us covered. My friend had to ask about 3 times for a beer and he finally got one on the 4th ask. The mixed drinks were weak, and the waitress that took our drink orders did not keep the drinks with the meals, and they didn't keep the appetizers to the same tickets either, this caused big delays at the end when we tried to sort our tickets. We were there from 6:25 until 15 minutes past 10. Almost 4 hours from start to finish. The last hour was us waiting on the servers to sort out the drinks the appetizers and the meals to the correct tickets. We were invited here to celebrate a birthday so we were not expecting to be in a hurry but almost four hours is a little ridiculous. It would be different if the food was good, but the food was just okay. Every Lobster we had was overcooked and chewy. The shrimp was pretty good but everything else was not. The calamari appetizer was overcooked and overpriced they used to give you a lot for your money, it seems to me the proportions have gotten smaller and the price is not gotten any cheaper. Like I said earlier this was the third bad experience in about 18 months. We will not be back regardless of the circumstances. And it's such a shame we used to come here regularly about once a month. The food was good the service was great and the whole experience was worth the money. Sadly this is not the case anymore. I would avoid this Red Lobster and not waste the money.

I actually put a stopwatch on them with my phone. 2:30 in after placing drinks and appetizers we received our drinks. 2:50 after that appetizers came. That was the end of that. 25:53 after we got first word our food was coming. 42:00 in told it was about up. Fairly confident that our server forgot to enter our meals. 53:00 minutes after appetizers we received our food. The crab legs literally tasted like boiled water, we asked for more and to send those back. The second order was much better. I ordered the bay Harbour bowl. It arrived so salty that it was inedible. Even the server agreed and apologized. I asked for it to just be removed from our ticket. I stated that I did not need anything in its place. During this time not a sign of a manager to even inquire about our situation. You may be asking why the stopwatch. Last visit three years ago we sat for thirty minutes and no one ever came to our table to even welcome us to the restaurant. I see nothing has changed. As a local guide I strongly recommend that you not dine here based on these two incidents.

The food was ok. We got there when the doors opened. For quite awhile we were one of the few tables. It still took our waitress 20 minutes to get our drink order. Another 20 to actually bring the drinks. It took about 30 minutes to get the six oysters we ordered but i think that one is on the kitchen staff. It took an additional 30 minutes to have our food orderes taken. Once everything was said and done it took another 30 minutes to cash us out. If we would have been on a timed lunch break we would have been very late getting back.

I will give 2 stars for the service & Dragon Broccoli. Our waiter was very nice & efficient. The food was beyond terrible! I ordered Admiral's Feast & the shrimp looked like it came from the garbage. I NEVER send food back-ever but this shrimp was the worst I ever seen. It looked like it was black in color and it was greasy! Even the bisquits had a weird taste. My wife's mashed potatoes (for some reason gave her 2 helpings, no veggies) were like plaster, her fish smelled like it was fished out of the toilet. It's been a long time since I was at this location & I now remember why...If I wouldn't have received a gift card for Christmas I wouldn't have even bothered. I'll never go back. So gross & disappointing!

Service was not up to par as it should be like most other red lobster restaurants, steak was way over cooked and supposedly they had a bartender who was "kinda new"(what the waitress stated) which they need to fire and hire someone who knows how to make drinks. I take Red Lobster for granted. This is a really good restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was reasonably fast for a busy lunch. We ordered off the lunch menu and the food still came out fast. If you have not had the cheese biscuits they are worth coming here because they are just fantastic. I also like their Caesar salad.

My family loves the biscuits and seafood at Red Lobster, but this visit missed the mark. The biscuits were good, but the rest of the meal was just mediocre at best. Our service was also very slow. We waited several times with empty glasses. My daughter had to wait for quite a while for a refill for her drink before she started eating her food. Hopefully, our next visit will be better.

Went here with my family today. 5 adults and 1 child at non peak hours. 1:30 for lunch with maybe 4 other tables in there so not crowded at all. Waited 15 minutes on a high chair before we finally went to get it ourselves. No biscuits prior to food coming out. Waited 10 minutes on drinks. Got my mom's order completely wrong and took 30 more minutes to send her food out. The waitress didn't write anything down when taking our order and we specifically asked how she could remember all the food orders. Spoiler alert: no one can recall 6 meal orders correctly. By the time my mom got her food, everyone else was done eating. She asked them to box her meal up and for drink refills that never came. Got drink orders wrong when we finally did get a single refill to go. I understand that the kitchen sometimes makes mistakes but ZERO effort was put into making this right. Worst service ever. My dad loves red lobster but swore he would never be back. Save yourself some $ and go to the shrimp basket.

It has been years since we have been to Red Lobster, but we decided to go to the Vestavia Red Lobster for Crab Fest yesterday. This was the most disappointing experience ever. We had to save money to go out for the first time in a long time. Out of the three types of crab legs I got two were spoiled and smelled horrible. They offered to bring more, but I requested only one more of the type that was not spoiled until I ate the claw that was not attached to the good type and it was spoiled. So I no longer had an appetite and told them I couldn't eat it. My mother's steak was too tough for her to eat. They did replace it with something else. In the end they did take my meal off the bill and reduced the price of hers. However, given this bad experience, we will not return to Red Lobster ever.

My wife and I both ordered the admiral's feast and it was good as usual. However they was out of it seemed everything.I wanted a couple pounds of king crab leg's on the side but we got "we're sold out " my wife asked for asparagus and once again "were out" so after dinner we ordered 2 slices of key lime pie and we got "we're out and lost our contract with the key lime pie supplier." It's a good Red lobster location with All the red lobster usual delicacies. The 3 stars goes to the service from John and the manager there. They were attentive, made us feel comfortable and served best our food the way we asked for. The food on the other hand is a different story, the artichoke dip And the chips were completely salty for some reason, no way to eat that, we thought it's a mishap but even the complimentary biscuits and lobster bisque soup was salty. The sea fare food was okie including the salmon, lobster tail, and shrimp. The dished are a bit expensive which is known fact for Red Lobster. Bar has extensive drink menu and dessert was good too.

Is there a way to give a restaurant no stars? Sunday evening and barely any customers, yet somehow still waited on our food for over an hour. Our waitress didn't return to our table a single time in over an hour to refill our drinks. Since we waited so long we had to get our food to go because our child was getting ill from being hungry. When we arrived at the hotel we discovered the steak was horribly overcooked, the baked potatoes were still raw, the crab legs had gotten cold so they were impossible to shell. The meal was $125 and I thought it was absolutely absurd to pay that kind of money for that kind of service.

Possibly one of the worst experiences ever. Took my family for a late Sunday dinner February 9 and the service was super slow. The hostess made us wait for a table of 4 while seating other customers with the same numbers, that came after us, were seated ahead of us. Finally made it to our table, and it takes a waiter 10 minutes to come and take our drink order and another 10 minutes before another waitress came and took our drink orders again. Get the drinks and 3 of the 4 were extra sour. Order our food and it takes almost 40 minutes for it to come out. Then my order was wrong. After speaking to management, they discounted our meal. Just a horrible overall experience.

I placed a Togo order and went to pick it up. I waited around the bar area for about 10 minutes until someone working there even entered the room. No big deal, but annoying. Then I got my order, opened it up when I got home & it was the wrong food. Sure I could’ve checked it at the restaurant, but I figured putting the correct order with the ticket was pretty basic stuff when it comes to bartending. They weren’t busy at all. Luckily I had a gift card so I didn’t waste any actual money. I upped it to 2 stars because, despite receiving the wrong order, it was cooked pretty nicely.

No excuses for the poor service and ridiculous amount of time to get the food from the kitchen. The waitress wasn't rude, she just basically ignored us. Had to flag her down or ask another one everytime we needed refills or anything else. Then there was the waiter for the tables near us...the guy talked to everyone like he was giving a speech to 500 people without a microphone, and he NEVER stopped talking the entire time we were there. Needless to say, it didn't make for a very romantic dinner for my wife and I.

We went during Unlimited Shrimp. Took 20 minutes to get water after being seated and we finally got food a bit over an hour of being there. The food was great and our server was great (I think the reason we weren't greeted and given water was because the host didn't assign a server to our table. Our server came over after noticing no one had come to us, even though it wasn't in her section.), And the food was great. Our server thought that one of the side dishes wasn't quite up to par (it was fine) and brought us a replacement in addition to the original. I didn't see the other rooms, but it seemed like servers were a bit short staffed for a Friday night. But great food, great service. We definitely had our money's worth, even with the wait.

We waited an hour and half to be seated and was told the wait was 35 minutes. We spent a total of 2 and half hours in Red Lobster to be served bad food. Both mine and my husbands shrimp scampi was dry and hard with little to none garlic butter. My popcorn shrimp was gritty like sand to chew , my ketchup had something in it, and my glass smelled like wet dog. My children had the same dish but wasn’t given the same amount my son a 4 shrimp and daughter 6. They offer to recook scampi but we were ready to go do they took off just one kid meal on ticket. I regret to say this is third time we had bad service at red lobster and the other two were at different location so we won’t be at another for a while!!

My friend and I came here and our service was TERRIBLE!!! We sat at our table for about 30 minutes until we were even ask what would we like as our beverage. We had to flag down our waiter for him to acknowledge that we were even there. I ordered the shrimp alfredo with a loaded baked potatoe as my side. I have patronized three different Red Lobsters in three different cities over the last year. Those locations include, Trussville, Oxford and Birmingham. It is evident to me, that Red Lobster has issues company-wide. The restaurants are very dated, the food is subpar, and overall there's just an environment of a restaurant chain who has not stayed up with the times in so many restaurant related areas. If you are a Red Lobster employee reading my review, do not feel the necessity to follow up with me. I appreciate your gift card, and it's what I used to pay for my last visit in Birmingham. But, I simply have no more interest in visiting any more Red Lobster's again.

My husband and I went on Saturday, February 2. It took 20 minutes to have our drink order taken. The manager passed our table twice and so did the hostess and neither of them bothered to check if our drink order had been taken. We could clearly see that our waitress was super busy. We seen that they sat her another table and I could hear her telling another waitress she could not wait on them because she was so busy. I don’t understand why management would allow that. That will lead to bad service. Our waitress was great she apologized for our wait. Bless her heart she could only do so much. I have managed a restaurant myself for over 10 years and this restaurant needs better management. On top of all this I got food poisoning on Sunday. Not sure I will ever be back to this Red Lobster considering the circumstances it is in.

Everything was great; good service. The only problem is three people came in with a toddler with a talking toy! Yes it was rude and annoying

I've visited Red Lopster about 4 time's since I've moved to AL. 3 of the time's if was awful! My food was cold and runny. The last time we ate there it was actually pretty gd. Unless ur by water, it's just not worth it. I use to live in Clearwater FL & Red Lopster there ( the whole area ) was great! AL, TENN, & GA were rather gross. Even the crab legs were dried out and hard to open. Usually I have no problem opening crab or lopster. I wouldn't recommend these restaurant's unless ur close to the water.
