Ribs were spicy and too salty and not even a standard 1lb amount... The potato salad was actually spicy... Who makes spicy potato salad??? Cornbread taste like it was made the day before and left out. Beans were basic... All for nearly 15 bucks! Its official.. Jim n Nick's is the only bbq spot in Montgomery worth going to. Moes ain't it....

This cute little place was more of a Bar than Bar B Que. while the BBQ was really good it had rather small portions. Trivia on Wednesday was a bit slow but fun. Would definitely recommend this place if you are taste testing BBQ as it is fairly inexpensive for BBQ but smaller portions.

The hostess was very kind and informative. The food was delicious. There were not many people there because we care close to closing time. The only downside was that they had run out of ribs. It was a good dining experience and I recommend it to anyone who wants to venture out for Eastchase.

Whoever wrote that review about their mac and cheese being creamy and not dry is either blind or their taste buds died a long time go OR they themselves cannot cook and doesn't know how mac and cheese is supposed to be made or they work there, lol. Their mac and cheese is greasy asf no cheese or cream it's basically oily noodles stuck together, I felt like i was eating my mum's friend mac and cheese and trust me mate that is NOT a compliment. Their pull pork is dry asf as well UNTIL you add the sauce on it and do your own thing to make it taste like something. I'm from England and when i visited this state this is a place my family and i thought we'd try, worst decision ever, the baked were also dry. If we ever visit Montgomery, AL we shall skip over this restaurant. Gordon Ramsay would have a field day with you all, find another chef please because the food was awful.

Home run! I love when recommendations work out! The food.... pork, turkey, corn bread.... and squash casserole!! Yes , squash casserole, was amazing!! Everything was authentic and delicious, right down to the 'bama accents!! If you are remotely close to this spot: eat here! Does not disappoint.

OMG just found this place by accident on a weekend excursion. Now this place does BBQ and beans and cornbread RIGHT! The banana pudding I'll not get again but everything else could be my last meal! Why are all the good spots so far from home. From northern MO to Montgonery, AL for food??? Yep will have to do that again.

Great atmosphere and good food. Counter order and they bring it out, fast casual style. Good a assortment of beers and drinks, great little outside area as well. Only feedback is the portions were a bit smaller on the meats than some joints, no issue for me as I don't eat as much meat as the average American. Sides were on point.

First time eating at a Moe's BBQ. The hostess was very friendly and knew the menu. Made a great suggestion. I had the fried ribs, yummy, green beans and the sweet potato casserole. All of it was delicious.

Sadly, this place is in our neighborhood and we need it to be succrssgul. We miss Sinclair's. We find their mac and cheese dry and tasteless after 3 attempts, green beans do not meet the southern standard of Popeye's, Church's or even KFC. For the prices we find their portions small. Pulled pork was well prepared, but we found beef and chicken dry; and the ribs were unimpressive. Frankly, County BBQ in Montgomery is better, but sadly closed its location on Ann/Zelda.

Had the smoked chicken which was well seasoned. Lima beans and watermelon cucumber salad both delicious. The service was fast and the hostess was so sweet and extremely professional (especially to the four kids with us who asked quite a few questions).

Great food, nice atmosphere, jam music in the background. Has the feeling of a college town establishment, but has some serious bbq.... Love the bama pork sandwich. Highly recommend. Big bar with big drinks and staff that are hip and upbeat. Great place to fill the belly and to chill with some friends.

First off, the food was really tasty, especially the smoked turkey, and we will be back...but for take out. The environment was terrible...loud (bad noise control design), many flies inside, and crowded dining area. If you are expecting a sit-down and order type of establishment you will be disappointed...you order at the counter like any other fast food joint. Want a beer? Go to the bar...you can't order an alcoholic beverage from the food counter. So it is wait in line, order, wait in another line, order...Oy, vey. I really wanted to like this place as I live in the neighborhood...at least the food was good!

First time we went was great. Today was very disappointing. We had ribs and they we're not fresh and had no smoke ring. Tasted like cooked in an oven a day or two ago. We had one order of 6 pieces of ribs and three of them were the small dried out end pieces. We should have sent the order back. Another hit or miss BBQ.

I walked into this expecting the moes BBQ in Auburn AL and was a little disappointed. Food was good but there was not enough BBQ sauce for each table to have one and the place was really packed. The bushwachers and drinks were pretty good and I hope as time goes on it will complete with El ray for drinks

I’ve gone to the Moe’s in Tuscaloosa several times and I’ve been to the two locations in the Auburn area more than one hundred times. Firstly, this location doesn’t offer any carry-out deals like the other locations do. So I tried to order the 1lb. Turkey w/ 2 sides, and cornbread (what I always order) and they’re confused as to what that is. They offer me 1lb. Turkey w/ 1 side, I accept. It cost me exactly what the carry-out deal always cost me ($22.50). As steep as this sounds, this usually feeds two people and comes with additional cornbread and sauce. I open the box and there is no sauce, cornbread or utensils to be found. The turkey is served dry, with 1 pint of collards, and nothing to eat it with. I’m not even mad, but a little confused as to how two locations of the same business are doing a far better job than this one while employing almost exclusively college kids. This is the first and last time I’ll eat at this Moe’s.

Eat there yesterday before I flew back to TX. My son attend college there. The catfish is so good!!!! I ordered the catfish platter cost about $12. I got two small sides, corn bread, drink and catfish pieces. I got the collard greens and jambalaya. Worth the price to me. My son had the same thing and added 4 chicken wings for $3 The wings tasted good. I will be back and my son is lucky that this place is by his school. Worth the money. I want more of there catfish. Try it out for yourself.

This place would earn five starts, rather than the 3 1/2 - 4 I'd give it now, if BBQ was not the weakest part of its menu. Unfortunately, it's bland; and the ribs, on the one occasion I tried them, were tough. Cooking the meat longer, and a spicier sauce, might be the answer. On the other hand, Moe's Cajun-style catfish is delicious, and my wife likes the smoked chicken. The vegetables--especially the daily specials--are outstanding. I'm not a fan of sweet cornbread, but let that pass. A good restaurant that could be much better if the signature item on the menu is improved.

Amazing ribs. Cooked properly. Comes right off the bone once you bite it. Nice rub. Tangy umami filled sauce. Juicy smoked chicken! #demsidesdoh everything well seasoned and cooked like it should be. Collards not overpowered by smoked meats and still have a bite to them. Mac n cheese is creamy and not dry. Broccoli n cheese casserole is one of my favs. Almost quiche like. Def going back and you will too!

Ribs are amazing, but the service and atmosphere are a bit cold. Sitting outside gives you more of the Old Cloverdale feel, but nothing about Moe's BBQ really captures the spirit of the historic district well. I tend to get my food to go.

Good BBQ, sides were tasty, just a tad bit pricey, but not too bad. The white sauce is good and authentic, the red sauce is pretty standard issue. Definitely a good place to stop by if you are in the neighborhood. One thing to note is that you order from a cashier, take a seat, and someone will bring the food to you. At lunch I didn't see anyone refilling drinks, not sure if that's the case at dinner.

We visited about 7:30 p.m. and they were out of pulled pork, ribs, wings and baked beans! It would have been faster to ask what they did have. We settled for the 1/2 chicken, potato salad and the banana pudding. The chicken was tasty. The potatoes in the potato salad were very hard. Don’t bother looking for a banana in the banana pudding. Overall it was very disappointing.

Kind of a cross between fast food and sit-down restaurant. You order at a kiosk, but they bring the food to your table (and the prices are for a sit-down restaurant, without the service). Pretty long wait for the food, and they weren't busy at the time. Chicken sandwich was good, a little spicy with the default sauces. The portion of the sides was pretty small in my opinion, and small portions overall for the price (~$11 for the sandwich meal). They were out of green beans, which was one of their daily special sides. Banana pudding had one Nilla wafer and what tasted like out-of-the-box banana pudding. There's better barbecue and there's other restaurants with cheaper prices.

Great addition to Old Cloverdale! I've tried something new each time and love the rotating side specials. They even featurerd a smoked chicken chili one day that was not what you would typically see at a barbeque place but was delicious nonetheless. Guess that's a southern food revival for ya. Can't wait to see this place in the fall for gamedays!
